BROPHY, MARION On May 6, 2005 Marion Brophy, wife of Ivan Brophy of Fredericton passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side following a courageous battle with cancer. Marion was born in Nash Creek, N.B., on March 15, 1951. Besides her husband Ivan, Marion leaves behind her son Michael (Christine) and daughter Sharon also of Fredericton. Marion is also survived by her mother Rosie Lapointe, Nash Creek, sisters Margaret (John Doucet), Becketville, Cynthia (Randy Godin), Black Point, Sharon (Gilles Godin), Nash Creek, and Joannie (Randy Lapointe) Toronto. Surviving brothers are Glen, Nash Creek, Terry (Dale), Nash Creek and Donnie (Donna), Toronto. Marion was predeceased by her father Gordon Lapointe and brothers Herman and Eugene. Marion will also be sadly missed by numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. Services are being arranged by MacMillans Funeral Home, Black Point, N.B. R. Eunice Hicks 1932 - 2005 SACKVILLE, NB - R. Eunice Hicks, age 72, of Sackville, NB, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2005, at the Sackville Special Care Home. Born on September 21, 1932 in Midgic, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ezra and Mary (Hicks) Hicks. She is survived by her brothers, Donald (Dorothy) Hicks of Sackville, NB, Winston Hicks of Midgic, NB, Hugh Hicks of Sackville, NB, and Edward (Carolyn) Hicks of Sackville, NB; sisters, Katherine (Arthur) Turner of Sackville, NB and Bonita (Merville) Thompson of Moncton, NB; as well as several nieces and nephews. Eunice was predeceased by her brothers, Ronald and Richard Hicks; and her sister, Frances Lund. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell's Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (364-8188). Clarence E. Kline 1915 - 2005 Clarence E. Kline, 89, of Riverview, NB, passed away on May 6, 2005 at home. Born in Halifax, NS on May 7, 1915 he was the son of the late Alfred and Annie (Julian) Kline. Clarence was a Veteran of the Korean war; served from 1951-1953 with R.C.E.M.E., a member of St. John's United Church, honorary church Elder; served the church on various boards, as well as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6 and the Riverview Veterans & Armed Forces Association. He is survived by his son, Mark Kline of Toronto, ON; one brother, Gordon Welch of Portland, Maine; one sister, Ethel Julian of Dartmouth, NS; several nieces, nephews; and Sonya Kelly, a dear friend and companion for many years. He was predeceased by his wife, Beryl (Parks) Kline in August of 1992, one brother, Earl Kline; and grandson, Nicholas. Gerard W. Gaudet 1924 - 2005 MEMRAMCOOK, NB - Gerard W. Gaudet, of St-Joseph passed away at the Dr. George-L. Dumont Hospital on Sunday, May 8, 2005 at the age of 80. Born in St-Joseph, Memramcook, he was the son of the late Wilfred Gaudet and the late Alice LeBlanc. He retired from Universite de Moncton (Maintenance). He is survived by his son, Bernard Gaudet of Montreal; one sister, Hermance (late Raymond) LeBlanc of Shediac; one brother, Ulysse (Juliette) Gaudet of Moncton; and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Irma Bourgeois; his second wife, Marie LeBlanc; one son, Joseph at birth; three sisters, Angela LeBlanc, Alfreda Landry and Nelida Landry; two brothers, Raoul and Henri. CLARK, GEORGE W.T. - The death of George Weldon Thomson Clark, husband of Eleanor (Howland) Clark, of Saint John, NB, occurred on Friday, May 6, 2005 at the Loch Lomond Villa. Born in Dipper Harbour, NB a son of the late Edwin Thomas S. and Lillian S. (Sweet) Clark, George had lived most of his adult life in Saint John, where he was employed with the Marcus Co. Ltd. Furniture Store on King Street as a Department Manager for twenty-eight years and the Clear View Furnishings Furniture Store, Rothesay Ave. for fourteen years. Mr. Clark was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Royal Canadian Navy for four years. Several of these years he was engaged in top secret work in the supplying of equipment and armaments on new ships commissioned for service in the Royal Navy and the Royal Canadian Navy. He was a member of Hibernia Lodge # 3 F & A.M.; a charter member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 69. Mr. Clark was a member of the United Baptist Church in Dipper Harbour. Besides his wife, he is survived by one brother, Wilfred Arthur Clark of Saint John and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Carmen W. Cooking, reading, and her gardening brought her much enjoyment and she took particular pride in her raspberry bushes. KABRIEL, Bohuslav (Sam) Peacefully at home on May 6, 2005 at the age of 85 while being cared for by his devoted daughter Helen. Predeceased by his most cherished wife of 56 years, Jarmila (2003) and daughter Jarmila Kabriel Lloyd (1997). Forever loved by his adoring grandchildren Marisa and Thessaly Lloyd of Ottawa, and Sam and Kabriel Lilly of Toronto. Loving father-in-law of Adam Lilly, and Mark Lloyd and wife Lisa. He will be greatly missed by numerous friends and relatives. Upon arriving in Canada from the Czech Republic in 1952, he joined Ford Motor Company and was a dedicated employee for 35 years. After retiring in 1987, he and his wife enjoyed travelling to various countries, spending summers in the Czech Republic, and touring throughout Canada and the US with their many visitors. An avid reader with an interest in international events, he could always be counted on for a lively debate. Special thanks to CCAC and the MacEachern family for their help and support. John Krahn June 29, 1936 - April 27, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Glen Eden Funeral Home (Winnipeg) Peacefully, with his loving family at his side, John passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at the age of 68 after a courageous battle with cancer. His gregarious, powerful presence and sense of humour touched all who knew him and in his final days, his dignity, strength and calming demeanour carried his family through this very difficult time. He is survived by his childhood sweetheart Ellie, wife of 48 years, five children and ten grandchildren: Kim/Don (Stacey, Jeremy), Terry/Rick (Blane, Treana), Debbie/Hugh (Brett), Blake/Connie (Micayla, Nadia) and Lezlie/Greg (Jeff, Jamie) and granddaughter, Sarah McCullough. He is also survived by four brothers, four sisters, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents, George and Mary; brother Neil and sisters Agnes and Ann. John was a very intelligent man and loved doing crossword puzzles on a daily basis. He was known for comical one liners/quips that would either make you laugh or shake your head in wonderment. People loved to be around John because he had that presence that made you want to be with him to ride on the coat tails of his warmth and amazing energy. John was employed with the CPR from 1956-1964, started a career with the St. Vital Fire. Dept. in 1964 and retired as a Captain of the Winnipeg Fire Department in 1995. He was the central force of his family as he was bigger than life - a force of nature of all the different seasons. He will be missed greatly by all his family and friends. A special thanks to Dr. Olweny for his care, understanding and compassion, the oncology nurses for their care, the St. Boniface staff in Emergency, 5B and 5E, and to Dr. Dhaliwal for his comforting words. ALEXANDER, Frederick John OAA, FRAIC September 25, 1849 - May 9, 1930 In loving memory of a dear grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. It has been 75 years since we last saw you. Frederick John Alexander was born September 25, 1849 in Pewsey, Wiltshire, England and died on May 9, 1930 in Ottawa. Loved by his wife Lucretia Adora Justice (nee Austin), his 12 children, his 10 grandchildren, his 15 great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Alexander, as an architect with the Dept. of Public Works under Thomas Seaton Scott, designed the interior shelving of the Library of Parliament, the gates and fence of the Parliamentary Grounds, the DPW Workshop which later became the old Supreme Court and Court of the Exchequer Building, and many other jobs for the DPW. He moved to Pietermaritzburg, Natal (South Africa) in 1877 and designed several buildings there before moving back to Ottawa in 1886. In private practise he designed the Union Bank Building, Orme Hall, the Ottawa Amateur Athletic Assoc. Frederick Kirby LITTLE RIVER, NB - Frederick (Fred) James Kirby, 62, of Little River passed away Sunday, May 8, 2005 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Moncton, Fred was a son of the late William and Christine (Manuel) Kirby. He was self-employed in the burner service industry for over 20 years before starting Kirby Water Services in 1986 until the time of his lengthy battle with cancer. He was a member of the Keith Lodge No. 23 F& AM and volunteered at the Salisbury Legion bingos. Fred loved being outdoors or working in his garage and enjoyed teaching his sons-in-law how to fix things right the first time. Poppy loved spending time with his grandsons, even during his illness. Fred is survived by his wife of 39 years the former Charlene Lovelock; three children, James of Moncton, Angela Rochford (Corey), Summerside P.E., Karen Kirby (Steve Legacy), Moncton; grandsons, Zachary and Brock Rochford, Caleb Legacy; a sister, Kathryn White, Moncton; brother, Doug, St. Stephen; father-in-law, Charles (Eddie) Lovelock, Moncton and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother-in-law, Jessie Lovelock. Anna Dallaire 1915 - 2005 SHEDIAC, NB - Anna Dallaire, 89, wife of the late Eric Dallaire (1996), of la Villa Providence, Shediac, and formerly of Cocagne, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2005 at the residence following a brief illness. Born in Cocagne, NB on September 18, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Philippe Melanson and Julie Bourque. She was a housewife and attended Saint-Pierre Roman Catholic Church, Cocagne. Mr. Arthur "Art" Joy February 14, 1914 - April 17, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Richmond Funeral Home Passed away peacefully in Richmond April 17, 2005 after 91 years of good helath and clear mind. He was predeceased by wife Doreen Joan in 1992 and brother Percy in 1999. He is missed by his loving daughter Valerie (Dave), son Colin (Lorea), and sister Elsie Hynek. Also survived by nieces Carol, Leuise, Kathy, Shelley, and Cindy, nephew Ken and distant nephew John (UK), many cousins, friends and their families. Art will also be missed by Nora and Andy Felker of Richmond, dear neighbours and friends of 53 years. Born in Nanaimo February 14, 1914, Art went to sea in 1938 and was conscripted into the British Merchant Navy in 1939 where he served travelling the world until returning home with his Liverpool bride in 1946. Once settle, he worked as stationary engineer for BC Tel and finally 23 years for the Vancouver School Board until he retired to his beloved garden in 1979. No service by his request but a celebration of life will be held at a future date.

Betty Kalina April 23, 1918 - April 22, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Regina Funeral Home KALINA – Betty passed away peacefully on Friday, April 22, 2005 at the age of 86, one day before her 87th birthday. She is survived by her husband Russell; son Allen Kalina (Wanda); daughter Pat LeBlanc (Dorian); grandchildren Tara and Alex Kalina, Nicole, Joel, Daniel, and Patrick LeBlanc. Also left to mourn is her sister Ruth Clark; brothers Ken Clark, Keith Clark, and Sam Clark; and many nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Janet Clark, brother Mike Clark, and grandson Michel LeBlanc. Betty was born in Walpole, Saskatchewan on the home farm and lived there until she found work in Regina at the Pasqua Hospital in the Cancer Clinic. Betty married Russel Kalina on December 3, 1959 and lived on a farm near Richardson, where she began a new career as a farm wife and mother of two children, Allen and Pat. Betty was blessed with six grandchildren that were always the highlight in her life. She loved to cook, read, and play cards. Betty and Russell spent many hours square dancing. Family was a big part of Betty’s life and she spent many hours entertaining those who came to visit her. She resided at Pioneer Village from 2001 until her death. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Jack Oglesby officiating. Cecil Carmen Kelly February 15, 1916 - April 02, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Jenkens Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre Mr. Cecil Carmen Kelly, aged 89 years, of Donald Street passed away on April 2, 2005, at Dawson Court of natural causes. Born in Kenora February 15, 1916 to David Oliver and Georgina Kelly. Cec grew up in Kenora and at the age of 16 met a girl by the name of Marianne Westerlund who had moved to Kenora from Sweden. They fell in love and in 1935 were married. They lived in Kenora until 1937, when they moved to Thunder Bay. Cec was an avid carpenter in his younger years and with the help of his many friends they built numerous houses in the Thunder Bay area. At the age of 25 he hired on at the C.P.R Railroad where he worked as a Brakeman on the Ignace run until his retirement at age 65 as a Conductor. In his 40 years of running back and forth to Ignace he also built their home on Donald Street and their camp house in Ignace. Cec's main interests in life were his wife, son, and grandchildren. He loved talking about his years on the railroad and of all his friends. Cec traveled with his wife Marianne on her many business trips across the U.S.A. and Canada. They made many trips to Hawaii for the winter months and trips to Sweden to visit Marianne's relatives. He also loved to hunt and fish at their camp in Ignace where they would spend all their summers. Cec was a member of the Masonic Temple since 1960. He was predeceased by his father, mother, and his wife of 62 years, Marianne in 1997. He is survived by his son Bill Kelly and wife Sandy of San Antonio, Texas, four grandchildren: Carolyn Brown of Toronto, Marianne McCleary and husband Bill of Frisco, Texas, Cheryl O'Dwyer and husband Joe of Caledon Village, Cindy Minke and husband Rick of Chesley; eleven great grandchildren and additional close family members Donna and Ed Brown and children of Thunder Bay. Also surviving is Hazel Ward who for the last 7 years was his companion and mentor. Cremation has taken place and as per Cec's request no funeral or memorial service will be held. Hilda Kelm June 22, 1915 - April 30, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Glen Eden Funeral Home (Winnipeg) On the early morning of Saturday, April 30, 2005 the Lord opened His arms and gently took my mother home to be with Him. Hilda was born June 22, 1915 in Camper MB. and when she was a child she moved with her parents to Matheson Ave. Hilda was predeceased by her parents, brothers William, Edward, Robert, Daniel and sisters Hannah and Olga. Mom, Grandma and Nanny will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her daughter, Joan (Peter) Pelletier; grandchildren; Jo-Anne, Jacqueline, Daniel (Kara) and six great-grandchildren; Amanda, Cory, Garett, Jordan, Angelique and Hunter, sister-in-law, Lyla Kelm of St. Catherines, Ontario, as well as nieces, nephews and their families. During WWII, mom joined other women in manufacturing ammunition at the Cordike Factory in Winnipeg. After the war, mom was employed at H & R sewing factory. She later became a Home Care worker, which she loved because she met and took care of many lovely people. Mom is now at peace and rejoicing with her Lord. Pastor J. Lexier will be officiating. Service will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home on Friday, May 6, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow. I would like to thank Donwood Manor (1st.
