Robarge Otis "Johnny". Born March 1, 1909, he and his sister Isola Jindra were partially raised by their maternal grandparents in eastern Wisconsin and by foster parents for eight years in Minneapolis. In the mean time their mother was working to earn money to pay for their keep. During the stay in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, Miss Blanche Dunning, a county school teacher, played a very influential part in his life. In fact, practically played the part of a parent. In one of his many returns to Black River Falls, he discovered that Miss Dunning was very ill in a nearby hospital. He arrived at that hospital just in time for their last farewell. After graduating from Black River Falls High School, he returned to Minneapolis, took a short business course, took the civil service examination, passed with good grades and was awarded a position on an Indian Reservation in South Dakota. That was the beginning of a long term in Federal Government work, taking in five different states and many more cities. 50 years were spent in Yuma, AZ, 20 years of which was working for the Bureau of Reclamation, and 20 years for Senior Volunteer Services. After this he returned to the Twin Cities to be near relatives and friends. One of his hobbies was traveling abroad. One main focus was Spain, so before traveling there, he took Spanish courses at several places, notably Macalester College. Another hobby was roller skating, eventually ending up roller skate dancing in St. Paul's Skatium until the age of 83. While living in South Dakota, he joined the Masonic Lodge in Wagner. On February 8, 2004, he was admitted to membership at Augustana Synod of the Lutheran Church of Minneapolis. His last years were spent moving between Augustana Apartments and Augustana Health Care Center. Preceded in death by parents, Gideon & Martha; and sister Isola. Pierre J. Duhamel, a 25 year Croton resident, died on Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at Rosary Hill Home. He was 57. He was a retired Senior Customer Service Representative for Con Edison, working there 32 years before retiring in 2003. Mr. Duhamel was born in Salt Lake City, UT, on July 10, 1947 to Jean and Martha Paquin Duhamel. In 1987 he married Merrill Miller at Holy Name of Mary Church. He was a former Scout Leader and also a former member of the Knights of Columbus in Mt. Kisco. Survivors include his wife Merrill. of Croton, a stepdaughter, Jennifer (Christopher) Grove of Poughkeepsie, a sister Andree Duhamel, and his grandchildren Byran, Allison and Sarah. Delacroix, Thelma Jackson She retired as the first woman clerk of court in Iberville Parish. A resident of Plaquemine, she died Friday, May 6, 2005, at Ollie Steele Burden Manor. Fleurette D. Fournier, 98, of Lowell Rd., Hudson and formerly of Kinsley St., Nashua died Saturday May 7, 2005 at the Fairview Nursing Home. Ms. Fournier was born in Nashua on August 19, 1906 a daughter of the late Joseph D. & Angelina (Charron) Fournier. Ms. Fournier was a longtime resident of Nashua and had been educated in local schools. She was a 1925 graduate of Nashua High School. Prior to her retirement, Ms. Fournier was employed as a secretary for many years for the law firm of Leonard & Leonard of Nashua. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and a charter member of the Rosary Altar Society of that Parish and was its first secretary. Ms. Fournier volunteered for several years for the American Red Cross. Ms. Fournier is survived by; A close family friend; Jacqueline Maynard of Nashua. Lemoine, Dayton -- Dayton Lemoine, 70, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2005, at his home. A U.S. Navy veteran, Dayton was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 2130. He retired in 1997 from the Army Corps of Engineers, where he was a lock and dam operator of the Calcasieu Locks. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn "Sis" Lavergne Lemoine; daughter, Julie Jermaine Buck and husband Richard; sons, Grady Lynn Lemoine and Christopher Lemoine and wife Debbie, all of Lake Charles; sister, Angele Cecile Spears of Baton Rouge; six grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pinkey and Edith Lemoine. His funeral will be Monday, May 9, at 2 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church in Lake Charles. The Rev. Irene L. (Lewandowski) Witkowski Doucette, of Wells, ME, beloved wife of Richard Doucette, died Thursday (April 28, 2005). She was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 2, 1918 daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Lewandowski. Irene was raised in Nanticoke, PA and graduated from Nanticoke High School. Prior to moving to Maine in 1979 she was a long time resident of Elmwood, a member of St. Brigid Parish, and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Hannon Hatch VFW Post 9929 in West Hartford. She worked at Aetna Life and Casualty prior her retirement in 1979. Irene was an avid reader and loved to travel, do jigsaw puzzles and knit. She leaves a son Joseph E. Witkowski and his companion Kathy Kozakiewicz of Old Orchard, MA; a son Gerry L. Witkowski and his wife Helena of South Windsor; a step son Richard Doucette Jr. of West Hartford; a sister Elizabeth J. Belletti of Foxboro, MA., six grandchildren, one great grandson and several nieces and nephews. Her first husband Chester J. Witkowski, a brother Leonard Lavender and his wife Helen predeceased Irene. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday May 21, at 9 a.m. at SS Cyril and Methodious Church, Hartford. FEROL JEANE DUCHARME Age 67 of Tequesta, Florida passed away May 6, 2005 at a local hospital following an extended illness. She waas born in Clinton, Massachusetts on August 31, 1937 to Mr. Gordon Marshall Marr and Mrs. Bernice Willey Marr. Mrs. Ducharme has resided in Florida since 1972 coming from Bolton, MA. Formerly Mrs. Ducharme was an Accountant for the Restaurant Industry until her retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Jupiter/Tequesta and was very active in the choir until her illness. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Ralph Marcel Ducharme. Entombment was in Beau Pre Mausoleum in Jeanerette.Visitation was from 8 a.m. until the time of services Saturday.A native of Olivier, and resident of New Iberia Mr. Morvant died on Friday, May 6, 2005, at his residence.He operated Morvant Grocery Store in New Iberia, as well as Alleman Grocery Store in Bull Island.He is survived by eight sons, Chris, Eric, John, Josh, Warren, Kirby, Kent and Darren, all of New Iberia; four daughters, Pauline Derouen, Arlene Lecour, Pam Morvant and Tiffany Morvant, all of New Iberia; three brothers, Travis, Ira and Edward all of New Iberia; three sisters, Janoris Lord of New Iberia, Nadine Hebert of New Iberia and Verona Norris of Dallas, Texas; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Morvant and Annie Theriot Morvant.Pallbearers were Eric Morvant, Chris Morvant, John Morvant, Josh Morvant, Harold Ransonet, Wallace Morvant, Warren Morvant and Mark Derouen.Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia was in charge of the arrangements.

EAST GREENBUSH V. Charles Frichette, 76, died suddenly Friday, May 6, 2005 at the Northern Dutchess County Hospital, Rhinebeck, N.Y. He was born in Albany, October 21, 1928, and lived in Schodack Center his entire life. Charlie was a graduate of CBA Class of 1947. He worked for GAF and Stilsing Electric, both in Rensselaer, for 41 years as an electrician and estimator. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, having served from 1950-1952. He was a member of Melvin Roads American Legion Post #1231, past commander, member of the board of directors and served as county commander, a member of the K of C Council #6027 and also a board member, and was active in Greenbush Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball League. He was a past member of the Model A and Mustang Clubs and a communicant of Church of Holy Spirit in East Greenbush. Predeceased by his parents, Valrieve A. and Sara (Phelan) Frichette. Charlie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy J. (White) Frichette of East Greenbush; two daughters, Deborah (Charles) Frichette/Kurecka of Green Acre, Fla., Nancy J. (Louis) Newburg IV of Coeymans; two sons, C. Daniel (Donna) Frichette of Clifton Park and Garry M. Frichette of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Dorothy Aubrey of Palm Bay, Fla.; also survived by three grandchildren, Breanne and Kayla Mickley/Frichette and Louis J. Newburg V. The family would also like to give special thanks to Doctors Michael Gardnier, Daniel J. Finn, James G. Hoehn and Anurag K. Das for all their help and concern. NORTHBRIDGE— Gerald P. Lauzier, 84, of 30 Upton Street, died on Friday, May 6, 2005, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center, after he was stricken ill on Thursday, May 5 His wife of 43 years, Irene R. (Sabourin) Lauzier, died in 1995. He leaves two children: Joseph P. Lauzier and his wife, Darcy S. (Forleo) Lauzier of Worcester and Mary A. Perras and her husband, Gary E. Perras of Northbridge; two grandchildren: Jeffrey M. Perras and his wife, Amy C. (Wetherbee) Perras of Boston and Kristen M. Perras, MD and her husband, Brendan M. Ryan also of Boston; a sister, Edith M. Morrissette of Northbridge; nephews and nieces. He was born in Northbridge on February 11, 1921, son of the late Joseph and Eugenie (Gagnon) Lauzier, and he was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Northbridge High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Lauzier was a foreman at the former Whitin Machine Works, Whitinsville, for 22 years; he then worked for 6 years at the former New England High Carbon Wire Co., Millbury; finally, he was a quality control inspector at the Dennison Mfg. Co., Framingham for 12 years before retiring in 1986. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed gardening, reading and being with his family. He was also a dedicated member of St. Peter’s Catholic Parish where, for many years, he served in a multiplicity of roles: Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, presider every week at Communion Services at Rockdale House, Beaumont Nursing Home and at the former Northbridge Nursing Home, member of the choir, lector, teacher in the parish Christian Education Program which he helped establish in 1961, member of the annual Bishop’s Fund Committee, and member of the parish St. Vincent de Paul Society. In 1993, he was a recipient of the Diocesan "Top Hat" Award for over 25 years of service to the organization. Finally, he was dedicated to his community. For many years, he and his wife participated in the Northbridge Senior Center Food Pantry Program and delivered "Meals On Wheels" for the Tri-Valley Elder Services. Mr. Lauzier donated his body to the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester, for use in medical teaching and research. His Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 10, in St. Peter Catholic Church, 39 Church Ave., Northbridge. There are no calling hours. Claire G. Brousseau, 88, of West Hartford died peacefully with her daughter by her side on Tuesday, (May 3, 2005) at St. Mary Home in West Hartford. Claire was born Sept. 2, 1916 in Lowell, MA and moved to Hartford with her parents, Amanda and Frank Arcand, when she was young. She attended St. Ann School in Hartford and joined the workforce at age 14 to help support the family. Claire worked at Carling Tool, Underwood Typewriter, Whitney Chain and Veeder-Root factories. She also waitressed and worked in the dietary dept. of the old Hall High School during her mid-life years. Claire married the love of her life, Leo Brousseau, in 1939 and they had 60 wonderful years of life together until Leo passed away in 1999 of Alzheimer's. Later in life Claire herself developed dementia but was able to remain at home because of her angelic, ever-faithful supportive companion aide friends who became like family to her: Josephine Harewood, Gilda Perkins and Maryellen Greene. Claire always enjoyed welcoming friends and family into her kitchen for coffee, cakes and dinners. Her greatest daily joy was entertaining and taking care of everyone who came to her door. She also blessed the lives of countless others with her sharp and wise wit, smile, and touch of her hand on your arm. This included church acquaintances, restaurant waitresses, store clerks, tailor, hairdresser, fast food servers, neighbors, tag sale folks, her daughter's friends and the staff at St. Mary Home for 5 1/2 months. All were affected by the life of one genuinely good soul named Claire. Claire was surrounded by special friends whose love was immeasurable and unconditional. Tom and Tim Krug gave her the finest most valuable gifts of their regular visits and help around the house whenever needed. There was no one Claire loved and was devoted to more than her family. Her open arms and heart were always only a phone call away and she was one who anxiously awaited family visits with an open back door. Claire leaves her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Claudette and Steve Cigich, cherished grandsons, Scott, Mark, Gregory and Zachary, all of Brookfield, WI. She also leaves a dear brother, Walter Arcand and his companion, Antoinette Petrella of Cromwell. Claire was predeceased by her precious sister, Theresa Romano one year ago. Claire especially loved her niece Donna and her husband Joe Zakewicz and great-nephews Rick and Doug Saucier, all of South Windsor. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to all who contributed toward making Claire's life pleasant, comfortable and so very happy over the past several years especially those whose sincere care, prayers and love sustained her during the past few months. Visitation will be Monday, May 9 at 10 a.m. with funeral Mass at 11 a.m. both at St. Peter Claver Church, 47 Pleasant St., West Hartford. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Rocky Hill. NEW BEDFORD -- Albert A. Ouimet, 88, of West Wareham died Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Elsie E. (Wysocki) Ouimet. Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Paul and Noemi (Clerk) Ouimet. He lived in Wareham since 1976; he previously resided in Fairhaven. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. He formerly was a machine operator at Continental Screw Co. in New Bedford. He was a Navy veteran of World War II; he served in North Africa and the South Pacific. He participated in the invasion of Sicily. Mr. Ouimet was a member of the Boy Scouts, was Scoutmaster of Troop 56 of St. Joseph's Church and was a member of the St. Mary's Couples Club in Fairhaven. Survivors include his widow; two sons, Albert B. Ouimet and his wife, Grace, of Westerly, R.I., and Douglas P. Ouimet and his wife, Sheila, of Bradenton, Fla.; a daughter, Michele E. Coulombe, and her husband, Roger, of New Bedford; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Roger, Lucien, Henry, Paul, Charles and Gertrude Mercer. His funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Church in New Bedford. Burial will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Arrangements are by Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.

LUDLOW - Rita M. Dumont, 87 of Wilson Street died Thursday in Wingate at Wilbraham. Born in Chicopee, the daughter of Raymond and Emily (St.Marie) Ouimette, Rita was a resident of Springfield and Chicopee before moving to Ludlow over 40 years ago. She attended Sacred Heart School and Chicopee High School. Rita was a retired employee of the Meat Department of Big Y Foods and a communicant of St John the Baptist Church in Ludlow. Predeceased by her husband Armand Dumont, her son Armand Dumont Jr and her daughter Marilyn I. Anderson, Rita leaves a son Richard Dumont and two daughters, Linda Metayer and Shirley Koch all of Ludlow, a sister Lillian Martineau of Chicopee, eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. The funeral will be held Monday morning at 9:15 am from Nowak Funeral and Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Avenue, Indian Orchard (at the Ludlow Bridge) followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. John the Baptist Church at 10:00 am.
