Beatrice LeBlanc 8 mai 1910 - 6 mai 2005 A la Villa Providence, le vendredi 6 mai 2005, à l'âge de 94 ans, est décédée Beatrice 'Bella' LeBlanc, domiciliée à Shediac mais autrefois de Moncton. Née le 8 mai 1910 à Saint-Paul, elle était la fille de feu Élie et Nélida (Leger) Leger. Elle laisse dans le deuil cinq enfants: Geneva Rootham (Kenneth) de l'Ontario, Doris Leger (feu Arcade) et Donald (Paulette) de Moncton, Flora LeBlanc (Norbert) de Cocagne, Raymond (Stella) de Grande-Digue, plusieurs petits-enfants et arrière-petits-enfants. Outre son mari Ferdinand (1972), deux fils: Roger (1977) et Georges (1988); trois soeurs: Lucie Gaudet, Sr. Marie-Georgina, n.d.s.c. et Alice LeBlanc; ainsi que deux frères: Johnny et Antoine l'ont précédée dans la tombe. La dépouille mortelle est exposée au salon funéraire Frenette, 88, rue Church à Moncton (858-1900). Les funérailles auront lieu le lundi 9 mai 2005 à 13h en la Cathédrale N.-D.-de-l'Assomption à Moncton. L'inhumation se fera dans le cimetière N.-D.-du-Calvaire à Dieppe. AUGUSTA -- Lucille Jean Maxim, 80, died peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her family, on May 6, 2005.On April 11, 1925, Lucille was born at the family's homestead along the banks of the St. John River in Upper Frenchville, Maine, to Arthur and Delina (Cyr) Cote. She was educated at Holy Rosary Convent Catholic School. Lucille's youth was during an era still connected to the horse and buggy, cowboys, Indians and coal-powered locomotives. Sixteen-hour days were the norm on the rock-strewn fields of their working farm. Hard labor prepared our mother's generation for the belt-tightening years of the Depression and the sacrifices of a world at war. From the age of 14, Mom helped support her family by cleaning homes and offices. Lucille moved down to the "big" city of Augusta, where she found employment at R.P. Hazzard Shoe Co. and waiting tables at the Roseland Diner. It was here that she met her future husband and our father, Wallace Maxim, a World War II veteran. Lucille and Wallace married on Aug. 23, 1947, at St. Mary's Church in Augusta. It was at this point that her career evolved into that of a housewife, mother and caregiver to five children, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and multiple nephews, nieces, cousins, dogs, pets and stray neighborhood children who often popped in for short visits.Widowed at age 50, Lucille discovered the freedom of being behind the wheel of her own car. Whether burning rubber in an eight-cylinder vehicle or puttering along on four cylinders, Mom's rambling down the backcountry roads of Maine led to many adventures. Lucille and her gray-haired traveling companions enjoyed lawn sales, flea markets, visiting with friends and relatives, playing bingo at the seasonal fairs, and Saturday evening church suppers. Mondays were a particularly favorite day of Lucille's, because she enjoyed the company of her peers at the Cushnoc Senior Citizen's Club of Augusta. Among Mom's many senior bus trips, her favorites were for fall foliage and the Canadian Sugar Shack. During our mother's lifetime, she was a devout Catholic, attending Mass at St. Augustine, St. Mary's and St. Andrew's churches. After harsh winters, Mom welcomed the spring days, planting fragrant, colorful flowers and sitting in her swing during cool summer evenings. Lucille was skillful at embroidery, quilting, crocheting and making puzzles. She enjoyed fresh brook trout fried in a cast-iron skillet, fried clams, hunting for fiddleheads, picking dandelion greens and canning her own vegetables. Lucille especially delighted in family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Our mother's soft heart and generosity extended to all friends, family and strangers. She gave a helping hand to those less fortunate through donations of money and gifts. Lucille is survived and will be greatly missed by her loving children, Warren Maxim and fiancee Joanna Wancas of Augusta, Marlene Ross of Sidney, Wallene Ross and significant other Thaddeus Ross of Augusta, Darin Maxim and fiancee Sharon Woodruff of Augusta, and Kevin Maxim of Burien, Wash.; grandchildren Eric Maxim and wife Lori of Augusta, and their children, Mya and Kolby, Brian Ross and wife Kim of Fayette, and their children, Chad, Chelsey and Alexandra, Jason Ross of Florida and his child, Feather, and Jennifer, Michelle and Danielle Ross of Augusta; great-granddaughter Vivian Tschamler of Belgrade; sister Jeannette and husband Bertrand Chenard of Lewiston; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Special recognition goes to friends and relatives who touched our mother's life, and our family's gratitude goes to HealthReach Hospice for giving our mother the opportunity to spend her last days at home with her loved ones.Lucille was predeceased by her husband of 27 years, Wallace, in 1975; grandson Todd Ross in 1997; her parents; two sisters; and one brother. Visitors may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will occur in Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery. Albina Cecile "Bonnie" Hotard Talley, 91, a native and resident of Houma, died at 10:08 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2005. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church. She is survived by one son, C.E. "Buddy" Talley of Houma; one daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Juanita Talley of Channelview, Texas; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Talley; her parents, Authur O. Hotard and Elise Labit Hotard; four brothers, Arthur R., Issac, Narie and Clifford Hotard; and seven sisters, Isabel Waller, Cora Shepherd, Adrienne Savoie, Ledie Clouatre, Lucretia "Kate" Gros, Justillia Hebert and Fannie Sills. She was the wife of the late Rene LaPointe. Mrs. LaPointe was born in Newton and became a school teacher. She graduated from Keene Normal School, now Keene State College, in New Hampshire. She continued her education at Boston University and received her master's from Columbia University. She taught elementary and secondary school in New Jersey and in Massachusetts until her retirement in the mid-'70s. She moved to the Cape in the late '70s. She was active in the Republican Party, the Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary and the Women's Club. Survivors include a sister, Barbara Connor of Peabody; two brothers, Philip Brooks of Charlotte, N.C., and George Brooks of Tampa, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. Burial was private. LOWELL -- Suzanne (Dalphond) Carbonneau, 61, a resident of the Centralville section of the city, died Sunday, May 1, at the Lowell General Hospital. She was the wife of Raymond P. Carbonneau.Born in Lowell on Oct. 14, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Hector J. and Therese (Moreau) Dalphond. Mrs. Carbonneau was a communicant of St. Louis de France Church. Mrs. Carbonneau worked as a contract-management assistant in the Department of Defense for more than 30 years before retiring in 1995. She was stationed at Sanders Associates. In addition to her husband, her survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Francis J. and Judith (Fermon) Dalphond of Tewksbury; her mother-in-law, Irene B. Surviving are three sons and one daughter, David Berard and wife, Patricia of Berryville, VA, Daniel Berard and wife, Laurie of Northumberland, PA, Gerald Berard of Fayettsville, AR and Linda Berard Tribby and husband, Roger of Arlington, VA; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by son, Paul T. Berard and brother, A. Arthur Berard. The family will receive friends at Murphy Funeral Home in Arlington, Sunday, May 8 from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral will be held Monday, May 9 at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Arlington. SPEIGEL, Rosalynde Green Rosalynde Green Speigel, 91, of Chicago IL and Killarney Ontario, died on April 28th, 2005, after living with Alzheimer's disease for a number of years. She leaves a legacy of talent, grace, and style to her loving family and friends. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she won a "pretty baby" contest at the age of three. Beautiful, and talented in music, Green Speigel later sang with the Hank Biagini and Tommy Dorsey bands, and toured with Perry Como. She moved to Chicago in 1941, designing hats for Rusnak's, prestigious milliner for Chicago society and the opera. She later married I. Joshua Speigel, M.D., a prominent neurosurgeon, from Fort William and Sudbury, Ontario. While he served in the army during WW II, she volunteered with the "Grey ladies". After the war they settled in Chicago, where he established a thriving practice, and she raised their three children. Always creative, Green Speigel later turned her skills to art, studying with major Chicago artists Richard Hunt, Harry Bouras, Curt Frankenstein and Thurman Nicholson. She eventually received her Master's in Fine Arts degree from the School of the Art Institute when she was 68 years old. A prolific artist, Rosalynde Green-Speigel worked in all media, from arc-welding steel to wood to pastels, finding her greatest affinity in oils and acrylics. She identified strongly with the color palettes of Hans Hoffman and Gustave Klimt. Her work has been exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, one-woman shows at Gilman Galleries and galleries in Toronto, Ont., and is in numerous private collections. She excelled in all creative endeavors - from gourmet cooking, to her legendary parties. Her charisma, kindness, and sense of style and fun will be deeply missed. She is survived by three children, six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Rosalynde and her husband were active in big game fishing and hunting in Africa and India. WAREHAM -- Louise (Noblet) Robert, 79, of Fairhaven died Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at Tobey Hospital. Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late John and Lillian (Bauer) Noblet. A graduate of Fairhaven High School, she lived in Newport, R.I., for several years. Mrs. Robert was active in real estate in Newport, Meals on Wheels in this area and the Fairhaven Mothers Club. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Risher of Oceanridge, Fla.; two brothers, Earl Noblet of Narragansett, R.I., and John Noblet of Alexandria, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Chester Robert. Her graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in River-Side Cemetery, Fairhaven. Arrangements are by the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., New Bedford.

She was pre-deceased by three brothers Edmund, Armand and Albert Rochette and a sister Alice Goodwin. Mrs. Lajoie was born in Worcester daughter of the late Rosario E. and Minnie P. (Frappier) Rochette. She owned and operated The Candy Closet in Spencer for 18 years before retiring in 2004. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church. She enjoyed crafts, her store and above all, her family. Marie R. Monteaux, 84, of Port Arthur passed away Friday, May 06, 2005 at Southeast Texas Medical Center in Port Arthur. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 3:00 P.M. Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath, Louisiana with Entombment to follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Cemetery. A gathering of friends and family will take place from 5:00 P.M. Saturday until 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 P.M. Saturday at Pat A. Riley Funeral Home in Nederland. Marie was born on December 4, 1920 to her parents, Leon and Aledia Romero in Erath, Louisiana. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She lived in Nederland on two different occasions for about twenty years as well as living in Erath. She was a homemaker, taking care of four children, as well as her husband of fifty-eight years, Aldes Monteaux who passed away in 1993. Mrs. Monteaux is survived by her daughter, Anna Knowles of Port Arthur; son, David Monteaux, Sr. of Beaumont; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
