Predeceased by her parents Eli and Olga Romick. Loving mother of David Byerley (Tracy) of Manitouwadge, Janis Wamsley (Chris) of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Joan Byerley of Elliot Lake, Heather Richer (Dan) of Elliot Lake, Sandra Marshall (Daryl) of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Kevin Byerley of Windsor, Penny Taylor (Dave) of Elliot Lake, Tracy Berube (Joel) of Thompson, Manitoba, the late Wayne Byerley (Mary) of Thunder Bay and grandmother of 15 grandchildren. Dear sister of John Romick (Sheila), George Romick (Helen), Eva Lepage (Paul), all of Thunder Bay, Ginette Samrodney (Donny) of British Columbia, Sylvia Corbett (late Ken) of Thunder Bay and the late Tony Romick, Ann Rice, Mary Romick and Nick Romick. ROCHESTER -- Phyllis Marie Lemire, 86, formerly of McKinley Street, died Thursday, May 5, 2005, at Rochester Manor after a period of failing health. She was born in Abington, Mass., on Sept. 25, 1918, the daughter of John Crowley and Rose Constantineau. Prior to moving to Rochester in 1946, she had lived in Lowell and Chelmsford, Mass., and in Somersworth during her teen years. She was a graduate of Somersworth High School in 1936 and was a communicant of Our Lady of Holy Rosary Church in Rochester. Mrs. Lemire proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She had worked for Fineman Brothers in Rochester for more than 15 years. She was the youngest of 11 children in her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Lemire, who died in 1989. Surviving family members include a son, Stephen A. Lemire and his wife, Catherine, of Dover; two daughters, Janis R. Albee and her husband, Warren, of Cape Neddick, Maine, and Lorna J. Landry of Bow; five grandchildren, Spencer Albee, Jesse Blais, Katherine Albee, Allison Landry and Lisa Landry; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at H.J. Grondin & Son Funeral Home, 177 N. Main St., Rochester. GRAFTON— Marie M. "Margie" (Gagnon) Morin Belisle, 69, of Green Acres Estates in South Grafton, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday May 4th at home. Her husband was the late Kenneth Belisle. She is survived by her 6 loving children, Ernest Morin and his wife Patricia of Millbury, Cheryl Barker and her husband James, and David A. Morin all of South Grafton, Tina Graham and her husband Paul of Auburn, James Morin and his fiancé Kim Rotunno of Shrewsbury and Lee Morin and his wife Laurie of Wales. Also 2 sisters, Pauline Shilinsky of Millbury and Helen Boucher of Baldwinville, 17 grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters. Mrs. Belisle was born November 20, 1935 in Worcester to Edward and Albertine (Reniere) Gagnon. After being raised in Worcester she lived many years in South Grafton and several years in Baldwinville. She first worked at Dapol Plastics in Worcester and then was a Licensed Practical Nurse at St. Vincent Hospital until the late 1980's. She attended Holy Name High School and was a graduate of The David Hale Fanning Vocational School Nursing program. She was an active member of St. James Church and a member of The Green Acres Association serving as it's secretary, a bingo organizer and on many other association committees. "Margie's" greatest joys in life were her family and caring for her neighbors and friends at Green Acres. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday May 9th at 10: am in her Parish Church of St. James, 89 Main St. (Rt. 122 A) South Grafton. She will then be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery. FREEPORT - Beatrice Hudon MacInnes, 96, a native of Lisbon, died Thursday, May 5, at Hawthorne House in Freeport.After graduating from Lisbon High School as valedictorian in 1922, she completed Farmington Normal School in 1925 and began teaching at a one-room schoolhouse in Skowhegan at the age of 18. She attended Columbia University Teachers College in 1939-1940.By 1939, she was teaching in Caribou, where she met the Boston teacher and married him in 1941. They had their sons in 1943 and 1944.The family moved to New York City and then to Northampton, Mass., in 1951, where Rod attended Clarke School for the Deaf.Her husband, John, passed away in 1952, and Bea began her dual career as single parent and elementary teacher, returning to Farmington for two summers to complete her baccalaureate degree. With her passion for education, she helped both sons to attend excellent prep schools (on scholarship), colleges and graduate schools.By 1972, she became a happy lady of leisure and started traveling the world, making a total of 15 overseas trips. One real highlight was when her sons surprised her in Paris, France, on her 70th birthday.In 1984, she decided - in her typical independent way - to move back to Lisbon to be closer to her siblings. She resided in Lisbon until 2000, completing her full life circle. Both her sons were with her when she passed away.She is survived by her two sons, J. Roderick of South Portland, and David Hudon of Vancouver, B.C.; and two sisters, Blanche Hudon and Corinne Wrenn, both of Lisbon.She was predeceased by her husband, John R. MacInnes, a native of Boston, in 1952; three brothers, Eugene, Ernest and Alfred; and two sisters, Bertha and Helen.

Kimmel, Marguerite - Josephine Nee: LaCroix, Age 89 On May 3, 2005 at St. Mary's Home Preceded in death her husband Clarence (1988); father Richard Gilbert LaCroix (1918); mother Angela Mary (1974); sister Angela Marie LaCroix-Smith (1996); brother-in-law Leslie Smith (1975); brother Richard G. LaCroix (1944); sister-in-law Elva LaCroix (1973). She is survived by niece Arlene Mason and family and nephew Dale (Lenore) LaCroix and family all of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Marguerite was born and raised in Saskatchewan, Canada and graduated from nursing school in 1936. Her first nursing position was at Isle LaCrosse, Saskatchewan. In 1938 she went to Duluth, MN and nursed at St. Luke's Hospital. It was there she met Clarence. They were married in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1941 and took up residence in St. Paul. Marguerite worked at 3M Company until her retirement in 1980. She was a member of the Church of Saint Louis, King of France 'the Little French Church'. Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Saturday at ST. LORETTA LAWYER LEWIS POULIN -- WATERBURY — Loretta Lawyer Lewis Poulin, 73, a longtime resident of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at her home on Kneeland Flats, surrounded by her loving children and family after a long battle with cancer on May 4, 2005. She was also known to many as Ma Poulin, Gram Poulin, Lorette and Poulie. She was born Nov. 20, 1931, in Fairfield, the daughter of Marjorie E. Lawyer of Huntington, and the late James C. Lawyer. She grew up in Fairfield and Bakersfield, and then moved to Huntington, where she married her former husband, Grant W. Lewis, and then moved to Waterbury, where she has resided for many years. She graduated from Richmond High School and worked many years at Ken's Diner in Richmond as a waitress. After moving to Waterbury, she worked at the Vermont State Hospital as a nurse and later was employed at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin. She also had worked for Murphy's Cleaning Service in Waterbury. For many years she was a member of the Northeast Fiddlers Association, playing the piano for many competitors and enjoying the beautiful sounds of the oldtime fiddlers. Her most recent employer was Billings Mobil in Waterbury, where she just loved all her customers and couldn't wait to come home and tell her children about some joke she heard that day or who came in especially to see her. Her job was so much enjoyment for her whether she worked the day shift or the night shift, which she did for many years. She also knew what her customers' needs were before they even had to ask. Loretta is survived by her mother, Marjorie Lawyer of Huntington; her four children, Paul Poulin, Susanne Poulin, Margo Sicely and Debra Longe, all of Waterbury; her sister, Ruth Little; her brothers, Carlton Lawyer and his wife Jan, and Charles Lawyer, all of Huntington; her grandchildren, Roger Longe and his companion, Kathy Gormson, Bryan Longe and his companion, Amy Lamson, Kirk Longe and his companion, Ami Farnsworth, David Sicely and his companion, Rheannon Dulac, Misty Sicely and her companion, Lewis Lowell, and Kevin Nutter, all of Waterbury, and Julia Gibson of Virginia. She is also survived by her greatgrandchildren; nieces and nephews; a special aunt, Ruth Bennett; as well as her favorite and special son-inlaw, Bryce Longe of Waterbury. Loretta was predeceased by her father, James C. Lawyer; her brother, James Lawyer; her sister, Katherine Lawyer; and a grandson, Darrell Sicely. Also preceding her in death are her late husbands, Armand “Slim“ Poulin and Joseph Gagne; and a sister-in-law, Betty Lawyer. Loretta was very devoted to her family and friends. She was always ready to help whomever, whenever they might need a hot meal, a place to stay or just friendly conversation. Her favorite pastime was playing Bingo with her fellow neighbor ladies until such time she couldn't go anymore. But then she played scratchoff tickets and the weekly lottery instead. Over the years, she loved playing the piano and dancing. She was always making gifts for people like homemade afghans, Christmas ornaments, homemade chocolates or something she crocheted. She collected bells and enjoyed having plants and candles in her home. Most of all, she would light up when her grandsons would come through the door to see her every week, stopping to chat or ask for sage advice. And her little great granddaughters, Makaylin and Morgan Longe would come by and say “Hi, MaMere“ and give hugs and kisses that would just make her day! Special thanks go out to so many people, but especially to the following who were so important and gave her great care: Dr. Jennifer Gelbstein of Waterbury Medical, Dr. David Ospina and the staff at Mountain View Physicians, Dr. Phil at Waterbury Medical, Dr. Wallace and the staff at Fletcher Allen Health Care, and to all of the nurses at Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice who cared for our Mom, especially Carol and Nancy. More than special thanks go out to Gwen Grout for all her hours of caring for Mom, to Jennifer Humphrey for always making Mom feeling better with a new hairdo, and to Rick Blake (her boss) for being so patient and understanding during those many months of chemotherapy, radiation treatments and hospital stays. Jeannette M. Fox, passed away May 4, 2005. Born June 28, 1927 in Kankakee, IL, she came to Arizona in 1960. She was a receptionist & secretary for Luke Air Force Base and Valley National Bank for a number of years. She was the 13th of 14 children born to Maryjane (Provost) and George Papineau. ENFIELD, CT - Yvette R. (Pothier) Croteau, 78, of Enfield, CT and formerly of Indian Orchard died Thursday at her home surrounded by her family. Yvette was a mail clerk for 20 years with the United States Postal Service and retired in 1990. She worked mostly at the Main Post Office in Springfield and later at the Bulk Mail Center in Indian Orchard. Born in Chicopee on January 17, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Rhea (Lapointe) Pothier. Raised in Chicopee she graduated from Cathedral High School. She resided in Indian Orchard for more than 40 years and was a communicant of St. Jude Church and a member of the parish's Ladies of St. Anne. For the past 12 years she has been residing in Enfield, CT. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 33 years Raymond E. Croteau, 2 sons, Robert E. Croteau and Donald E. Bernard J. Verville, 87, passed away on May 3, 2005 at Health Park Care Center in Fort Myers after suffering from a stroke. "Bernie" was born on Jan. 8th, 1918 in Hancock, Michigan, the ninth of ten children. He was a graduate of Michigan Tech. University, and immediately went to Naval Officer Training in New York City. His Naval service included Pearl Harbor, Southwest Pacific and Bremerton Naval Yard, Washington. He then joined his three brothers in the operation of Verville Construction Co. in Maysville, KY. For the past twenty years he and wife have lived in Fort Myers.Survivors are his wife Eleen, "Nines", brother Milton of Maysville, KY, sons, Thomas of Evansville, IN, Paul of Maysville, KY, and Stephen of Fort Myers, FL. Daughters are Barbara Cutter of Louisville, KY, Marcia Walker of Frankfort, KY, Dianne Verville of Erlanger, KY, Joann Verville-Long and Pamela Bloemker both of Cincinnati, OH. Yvette (Vincent) Slauenwhite, age 84, of Enfield, beloved wife of Howard A. Slauenwhite entered peacefully into eternal life on Thursday, May 5, 2005, in Enfield. Yvette was born on April 27, 1921,in Auburn, Maine, the daughter of the late, Napoleon and Liane Vincent, she was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Lewison, Maine, and had resided in Enfield for the past 27 years and in North Syracuse, N.Y., for five years before coming to Enfield. Yvette was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Besides her husband of 59 years, Howard, Yvette is survived by a son, Richard H. Slauenwhite, of Torrington; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Daniel Baccielo, of Stratford; her two beloved grandchildren, Theresa Marie and Daniel Joseph Baccielo. She is also survived by two brothers and their wives, Louis J. and Lorraine Vincent, and George and Jean Vincent, all of Maine; along with many nieces and nephews. Roland Arthur Chartrand , of Hearst - Date of Death: April 22nd, 2005 - The funeral service for Hearst resident Roland Arthur Chartrand, 77, of Prince St., is to be held tomorrow. He died April 22 at Sudbury Memorial Hospital from a heart attack. Born April 13, 1928 in Ste-Anastasie-de-Nelson, Compté Mégantic, Quebec, he had last worked for some 15 years as a Newaygo Forest Products millwright in Mead until its 1984 closure. He is described as a jovial person, who enjoyed his companion dog and birds, doing repairs and projects in his garage, cutting firewood and trips to the country. He was predeceased by his parents Albertine (née Lambert) and Albert Chartrand – who also died at age 77 on the same calendar date – of Hearst and a son Ronald in a 1969 accident. He leaves his wife Gisèle (née D’Amours) of Hearst, daughters Francine Chartrand and Cécile Cantin of Hearst and sons Michel (Sylvie), Jean-Guy (Johanne), Jean-Paul, all of Hearst, and Denis, Gilles and Gino (Nancy), all of Ottawa. He was an excellent wine maker and sausage maker. A skilled Mr. Fix-It, he was quick to assist in repair or renovation projects. He will be remembered as a good neighbour and friend who was always there to help others. He was devoted to his loving family, especially his precious grandchildren and great grandchildren in whom he took great pride and interest in their activities and accomplishments. MANNING (Mme Marlène Simard) Est décédée le samedi 30 avril 2005 au Centre de soins palliatifs d’Iberville, à l’âge de 50 ans, dame Marlène Simard, épouse de M. Martin Manning, demeurant à Chambly, native de Ville de La Baie. Les membres de la famille recevront les sympathies des parents et ami(e)s une demi-heure avant la cérémonie. Le service religieux aura lieu le samedi 7 mai 2005 à 11 h à l’église St-Edouard Ville de La Baie Les cendres seront inhumées le samedi 14 mai 2005 à 11 h au cimetière St-Edouard de Ville de La Baie. Elle laisse dans le deuil outre son époux, M. Martin Manning, sa fille Véronique (Marc Blouin), sa mère dame Huguette McCoy (feu Fernand Simard), ses frères: Paul (Anna Côté) et Michel (Danielle Larouche), son neveu Matthieu, les membres de la famille Manning, ses cousins et cousines, ses oncles et tantes, ses neveux et nièces ainsi que de nombreux parents et ami(e)s.
