BLACKBURN, Thomas Leslie. Of R.R. #3, Picton at the age of eighty-eight, died peacefully at his home on Monday, May 2, 2005. Les was a kind man, an RCAF WWII Veteran, dedicated to his family and his country. He leaves behind Jessie, his best friend and Scottish War bride of sixty-years. He will be missed by his sister Joan and her son Jim. He was a wonderful Dad to his sons Tom (Joy) and Les (Lily), his daughter Gerri (Mort) and proud Grandad to Dan, Tammy, Jonathan, Mathew and Tom. We will miss your courage and good humour, Dad until we meet again. By Mr. Blackburn's request no visitation or funeral service will take place. Cremation. If desired, donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. MAGGS, Muriel Irene (nee McKinley), It is with deep sadness that the family of Irene Maggs announces her passing on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 in St. Catharines at the age of 76. Dearly loved wife of John Maggs and the late Leonard Hollowell (1989) and the late Gilbert Devaney (1981). Beloved mother of Linda Tomasone (John) of Woodbridge and Gail Devaney (Roman) of Mississauga. Loving grandmother of Rebecca, Shelly and Andrew. Loved stepmother/Nana to the Hollowells and special friend to Sharon. Pr edeceased by dear brother Blake McKinley. Irene was a long time, valued employee of Lord & Burnham and Castle Plumbing & Heating as their bookkeeper. She enjoyed baking, family card nights, long walks, her dog Honey and keeping things clean and organ ized. Upon retirement she took organ and painting lessons, joined bowling and cribbage leagues and travelled to Las Vegas, Arizona, England, Europe, Alaska, B.C. and all over Ontario. THEISEN, John "Jack", Peacefully, at Upper Canada Lodge, Niagara-on-the-Lake on Thursday, May 5, 2005 in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Ada (Bowerbank) 1989. CUNNINGHAM, Patrick "Pat" M.D. After a long and courageous battle with cancer at the Willett Hospital, Paris on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 in his 70th year. Pat, will be sadly missed by his wife of 31 years Gayle. Predeceased by his parents Margaret and Harold Cunningham of Leamington and brother Gerald Cunningham of London. Survived by sister Beatrice Cunningham of Oakville; he is also survived by Mike, Matt and Julie. Pat cared for many families for 40 years in the village of Lynden as their family physician with partner Dr. D.K. Picketts. Pat was a member of St. Basil's Parish. LEAHY, Sister Jeannette At Ignatia Hall, Mount St. Joseph, London, On., on Wednesday, May 4, 2005, Sister Jeannette Leahy (Sister Mary Evangelista) of the Community of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Diocese of London in her 83rd year and her 64th year of religious life. Lovingly remembered by her Sisters, Cecilia (Shiell) and Eva (Gardiner) nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Predeceased by her parents Joseph William Leahy and Evan Maud Carson and Sisters, Sister Rose Leahy, Gertrude (Waterstreet), Jeannette Leahy, Kathleen (Smith), Agnes (Hefferman) and brother William Leahy. Sister Jeannette Leahy received her Teaching Certificate in 1943 and most of her 31 years of teaching were in the Windsor, Maidstone and Leamington area. Her many years of teaching were a source of enjoyment to her and those with whom she worked. After retirement from 1988 to 2000 Sister Jeannette went to Edmonton where she continued her teaching ministry by tutoring children are a volunteer. In 2000 Sister Jeannette came to London and resided at Ignatia Hall, Mount St. Joseph, London. Sister Jeannette's radiant smile will be missed by the nursing staff and her friends in community. Marion will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 46 years, William (Bud); their sons Duncan (Michelle) and Brett (Denise) and grandchildren Zachary, Ethan, Maddison and many relatives and friends. Marion will be remembered for her kind heart and selfless love of her family. She had a way of making even the simplest of dinners a special occasion that was always enjoyed. Marion loved to be outdoors in her garden or golfing at Breezy Bend and enjoyed time with her grandchildren more than anything. It was a joy to watch her face light up when they were around her. She understood that life’s riches were in family and friends and not material things. To those fortunate to have known her, Marion had strong values and a very clear sense of right and wrong. Stanley Lawson Colclough Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Stanley on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at Grace Hospital. Stan is survived by Marion, his beloved wife of 58 years, daughter Gail, sister May, brother John (Vi), nieces Barbara, Brenda, Linda and Maureen, nephews Barry, Clifford, Fred and Tom and their families. He will also be sadly missed by Marion’s sister Eileen and many friends. As a young man, after serving in the Canadian Navy, Stan returned to Eatons where he worked for 41 years, rising to a senior managerial position. After retirement he spent several years providing consulting services to Princess Auto. He took great pleasure in setting up a successful travel agency, VIP Travel Inc. with his daughter. He lead many travel tours to many places around the world. Stan was a member of the Eatons retirement group. He enjoyed curling, racquetball and working in his beautifully scenic yard on the banks of the Assiniboine River. Stan greatly loved all animals and will be especially missed by Mikey and Missey. Stan was reserved and quiet, but was always ready to lend a hand or give advice to friends or family when needed. Anna was a devoted mother, grand mother, great grandmother, and a great lover of life. She loved tennis, skating, golf and was a member of the Anglican Church of Canada. Milt was the 2nd oldest of 10 children. He graduated from St. Rose High School in Lima at the top of his class, worked for Westinghouse Corp. in Lima for 25 years, then moved himself and his family to Arizona where he worked for 25 years at Garrett AiResearch in Phoenix and then retired to live on the beach in San Diego. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, the Loyal Order of the Moose, the VFW and a member and past president of the Knights of Columbus. Milt was the father of 12 boys and 2 girls. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Doris E. (Barre) and Edward A. Parent; his sister Barbara Phyllis Lyons, his brothers Edward (infant) and Russell Edward; his wife Jeanne Ann (Walsh); and his children Joseph, Linda Esposito, Edward, Mary Aimen and William. SAUCIER SR., ROLAND RENALDO, died May 1st, 2005, in Miami. A Lewiston, Maine native, Mr. Saucier was born April 14, 1914 the son of the late Chrysologue and Leonie Phenix Saucier. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1933 where he served as class president and excelled at sports. After high school, he played amateur hockey with the Cyclones. Mr. Saucier served in the U.S. Army in both the European and Pacific theaters during World War II. In 1946 he married his high school sweetheart, Addie Mae Bryant, who died in August, 2000. He was a principal of Commercial Rubber Company for nearly thirty years. After retirement his full-time occupations were golf and grandfather-hood. He was a member of Fairlawn Country Club. He was a devoted parishioner at St. Patrick's Church, Lewiston, Maine. At his 90th birthday party in 2004, he was asked, "What is the best thing about being 90?" After a pause, he replied, "No peer pressure." His greatest joy was seeing his beloved Red Sox win the World Series. Mr. Saucier is survived by his daughter Louise Saucier Valdes- Fauli, of Miami, FL; his son, Roland R. Saucier and his wife Carolyn Anderson Saucier, of Chatham, IL; grandchildren Alexandra Valdes-Fauli, Andrea Valdes-Fauli Oguz and her husband, Atakan Oguz, Nicolas Valdes-Fauli, all of New York City, and Rollo III and Jennifer Saucier of Chatham, IL; several nieces and nephews; and his life-long friend, Albert Rowbotham. A funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick's Church, Lewiston, Maine, Saturday, May 14th at 11:00am. LEWISTON - Camille J. Albert, 56, of 124 Bartlett St., died Wednesday, May 4, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, following a short illness.He was born in Sinclair on Sept. 23, 1948, the son of Joseph R. and Irene R. (Morin) Albert. His interests included playing pool and cribbage. He will be remembered as a very social person with a great sense of humor.Prior to his illness, he worked for Prestress Concrete in Sabattus, and also worked at Albert's Variety in Lewiston.He is survived by three sisters, Terry and her husband, John Howes, of Sabattus, Nancy Albert of Auburn, and Dianna Albert of Portland; four brothers, Leo and his wife, Elizabeth, of Portland, Gile and his wife, Ernestine, of Lewiston, Gerard of Lewiston, and James and his wife, Rose, of Dallas, N.C.; nieces and nephews, Johnny, Tina, Polly, Stacy, Danny, Amy, Becky, Billy, Nicholas, Nickky, Michael, Shawna and Tyler; great-nieces and nephews, Kayla, Ethan and Audrey; as well as his many friends at Del's.He was predeceased by his mother in 1973; his father in 1975; a brother, Bruce, in 1982; and and his brother, Paul, in 2001.

Martha Davidson February 11, 1912 - April 17, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home Martha passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 17th, 2005 at the age of 93 at Riverview Health Centre. Survived by sister Mina (Dennis) Rae and her family, grandchildren Laurie (Imre) Voros, Kim (Patrick) Dawson, Glen (Liz) Buhr and son-in-law Don Buhr in the U.S., niece Bernice (Corey) Anderson, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, many other family members and dear friends. Predeceased by her beloved daughter Gaylene Buhr, brother Tofield (Ted) Guest and brother-in-law Jim Irwin. Martha Davidson had flair and spunk. She made people feel important and loved. Her spirited, vivacious and bubbly nature drew people to her. She was tastefully flamboyant. Martha especially loved young people and had the unique ability to see through the surface to the hearts and dreams beyond. She loved flowers, cooking, baking, crocheting and Scrabble. Widely known as Auntie Mart, she thrived on ‘fussing’ over people. She was ‘Auntie Mame’ and ‘Betty Crocker’ rolled into one, loving to laugh, sing and make others laugh. She was generous to a fault. If it is true that a person only regrets the opportunities they didn’t take, Mart is likely a satisfied angel right about now. Despite the social consciousness of the time, she was a female business owner in the 40’s and 50’s (Martha’s Restaurant on St. Mary’s Road), was a hair model and drove an outrageous lime green and canary yellow Austin Mini (her “puddle-jumper”). Working with Family Services for several years, she especially enjoyed helping families with children. Martha suffered poor health for the last 12 years of her life and lived at Riverview Health Centre for the past three. Many thanks to Home Care and Riverview staff for great care during very difficult times. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Martha’s life will take place on Saturday May 21st at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Interment and reception will follow. Flowers gratefully declined. Should you so desire, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. It’s hard to convey the influence she had and the strength of spirit Mart instilled in many of us. Martha Davidson left many people behind who will always love her and are better persons for having known her. Rest in Peace.

SKURO, Nicholas In loving memory of Nicholas Skuro, in his 88th year, passed away Thursday morning, May 5th, 2005 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site. Nick married Norma (Jouppi) on May 27th, 1950. They were 22 days short of their 55th Wedding Anniversary. Lovingly remembered by his children Douglas Skuro (wife Heather) of Sudbury and Elaine Kawozole of Honolulu. Cherished grandfather of Courtney and Michael and great grandchildren Tyler and Dylan who were all the apple of his eye. Dear brother of Anne Slobodian (husband Mike predeceased) of Sundridge, Kaye Palmer (husband Percy) of St. Catharines, and Tina Mesjarik (husband Andrew) of Sudbury and Stephen, Mary Pawluchuk (husband Walter) and Mike (wife Simone) all predeceased. Predeceased by his parents John and Eva Skuro. Loving uncle of John, Walter Jr., Kathy, Stephen, Andrea, Diane, Peter and Stephanie. Born September 5th, 1917 in Sellwood (Capreol) and moved to Sudbury a year later. Nick had worked at different mines in Ontario and then finally settled back to Sudbury and worked at Murray Mine and South Mine until his retirement in 1982. A proud Canadian and a D-Day Veteran, Nick was a 59 year member of the Lockerby Legion Br# 564 and the War Pensioners of Canada. A quiet man who loved to fish and hunt in his earlier years, always loving the outdoors. In his later years, he became an avid 5 and 10 pin bowler. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Sawkiw and the staff of the 8th floor Laurentian Hospital for their special care and attention given to Nick. A Memorial Service will be held in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St., Sudbury on Tuesday, May 10th, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Beverley "Bev" Anne Clarke (née McConnell) May 29, 1947 - April 15, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home Bev passed away peacefully on Friday, April 15, 2005 at the Grace Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ross and two sons, Cory and Scott. Bev is also survived by her father Bob McConnell; brother Wayne (Barb), nieces Jacquie (Marlin) and Tamara (Grady), nephew Brad and many extended family. Bev was predeceased by her mother, Dawn and Ross’ parents Walter and Edith. Bev was born in Hamiota on May 29, 1947. After high school she attended University in Brandon. She started teaching in Rivers then moved to Winnipeg . After Scott was born she worked for her husband Ross when he formed his own company in 1982. Bev’s interests were curling, daily walks with the girls and spending time with family and friends. A private family interment will be held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Bev’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. at the Deer Lodge Curling Club, 425 Woodlawn Street. The family would like to thank the neighbors and friends for all the support during Bev’s fight with breast cancer and also thanks to the staff at Grace Cancer Care.
