GUEVREMONT, EUGENE A. 'Gene', 62, of Dean St., Pawtucket and most recently of Winchester, VA died Monday at Blue Ridge Hospice in Winchester. He was the husband of Rita M. (LeFort) Guevremont. They had been married for 39 years. Born in Central Falls he was the son of the late Armand A. and Agnes M. (Pageau) Guevremont. He grew up in Central Falls and Cumberland and has lived in Pawtucket for 39 years before moving to Winchester, VA a month ago.Gene served in the RI Army National Guard. He was a technician for AEC, Inc., (the former Cumberland Engineering) in South Attleboro for 27 years before retiring last year due to illness.He was a communicant of Our Lady of Consolation Church. He was a lifetime member of the LeFoyer Club in Pawtucket. Gene was past president of Blessing Branch #1647 of the Foresters. He was an avid fisherman.Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael D. Guevremont of Winchester, VA, Paul A. Guevremont of Pawtucket; A daughter Denise M. Guevremont of Winchester, VA and formerly of Cumberland, RI. Two brothers, Robert R. Guevremont of Sebastian, FL and Armand A. Guevremont Jr., of Woodbridge, VA. Five grandchildren, Adam M. Guevremont of Burlington, NJ, Rachel M. Brannigan of N. Attleboro, Logan P. and Alexis L. Guevremont of Winchester, VA and Paul A. Guevremont, Jr. of Pawtucket; several aunts, an uncle, several cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and one great great grandniece.The funeral will be held Saturday at 9AM from the Manning-Heffern Funeral Home, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. LEWISTON - Myril Sierge Nadeau, 90, of 158 Russell St., Lewiston, died Tuesday, May 3, at Central Maine Medical Center. He had been a resident of Russell Park Rehabilitation Center since November 2001.He was born in Lewiston, on Jan. 12, 1915, the son of Florian and Arthemise (Berube) Nadeau and had been a resident of this community and of Poland all of his life.He attended local schools and was a shoe worker most of his life.He was a World War II veteran, having served in the South Pacific Theater. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart for injuries occurring in action.He was a communicant of Saints Peter and Paul Church.He is survived by cousins.He was predeceased by three sisters, Irma and Rejane Nadeau, and Francis Nadeau Jacques.

CHICOPEE – Theresa M. "Terry" (Labrecque) LaPlante, 84, of McKinstry Avenue in the Aldenville section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Saturday, April 30, 2005. She was employed for 25 years by the former F. W. Sickles Company. She later worked for 13 years at the Champion Packing Company and retired in 1982. She was born in the Willimansett section of Chicopee on June 11, 1920, a beloved daughter of the late Adjutor and Albertine (Vandette) Labrecque. She lived on St. Louis Avenue in Willimansett for many years before moving to Aldenville in 1969. She was a communicant of Saint Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville and a member of the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Ludlow. Her beloved husband Leon A. LaPlante was Called Home on February 10, 1994. She leaves her loving son, Alan K. LaPlante and his wife Susan of the Fairview section of Chicopee. Her two cherished grandsons, Christopher LaPlante and his wife Beth of Willimansett and Joseph LaPlante of Fairview. Her cherished great granddaughter, Samantha LaPlante and her many dear nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her dear brothers and sister, Gerard and Roger Labrecque and Margaret Leduc. Her funeral will be held Saturday morning May 7, 2005 at 8 a.m. from the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, 13 Dale Street at the junction of Grattan Street in Chicopee followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Saint Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street in Aldenville. Her burial will follow the Mass at Notre Dame Cemetery on Lyman Street in South Hadley. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home in the Rose Chapel on Friday, May 6, 2005 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home off of Lafayette Street. Joseph Gregory Laporte, 77, of West Hartford, died Tuesday (May 3, 2005) at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Alexander and Cecilia (Carey) Laporte. Joe attended St. Mary's Seminary in Baltimore, MD, and worked as a teacher at the former Robinson School in West Hartford. He worked for the State of Connecticut Superior Court in the records division until his retirement. Joe's special interest and talents included carpentry, an appreciation of music and travel. He was a member of St. Timothy Church and forever will be remembered as everyone's "Uncle Joe". He is survived by his sister, Mary L. Quish of Simsbury; and sister-in-law, Corlyse H. Laporte of West Hartford. His eight nieces and nephews, William and Susan Quish of Simsbury, Stephen and Carol Quish, Mary and Hal Smullen, and Maureen Quish all of West Hartford, Carey and Cheryl Laporte of Colchester, Mary Duey of Farmington, Jim and Theresa Laporte of Monrovia, MD, Rick and Val Laporte of Bothell, WA; and 18 great nieces and nephews also survive him. He also leaves his faithful companion/dog "Smokey". LOWELL-- Theresa (Maciejewska) (Morning) Beauregard, 76, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died Tuesday evening, May 3, at Willow Manor Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Morning Sr., and the late Harvey Beauregard.She was born in Lowell, on June 3, 1928, daughter of the late Joseph and Alexandra (Maciejewska) Maciejewska. She was educated in Lowell schools.For more than 26 years, Mrs. Beauregard worked as a sales clerk for Sears and Roebuck Department Store.She was a communicant of St. Margaret Church. Mrs. Beauregard enjoyed gardening and the companionship of her pet dog "Skippy".Her survivors include a daughter, Christine Morning Healy of Lowell; two sisters, Helen O'Brien of Lynn and Alice Davis of Somersworth, N.H.; and many nieces and nephews.She was also the mother of Gary B. Albert N. Paul, 86, of Hudson, and formerly of Nashua, died April 29, 2005, at the Fairview Nursing Home.Mr. Paul was born Dec. 8, 1918, in Nashua, son of the late Joseph A. Coffey Post 3, the National Rifle Association, and the Nashua Retired Firefighters Association. She was educated in Methuen and attended Methuen High School.She worked for Western Electric, now Lucent Technologies, from 1950 until 1985 when she retired. She was a member of the Pioneers Club at Lucent Technologies. Jeanette especially loved her home, her family, and traveling around the world with her friends.She was the widow of William Kane and Earl Demers, and the mother of the late Thomas Kane. She is survived by sons, Stephen Kane and Mary Beth Grutkowski of Lawrence, John Demers and his wife Karen of Derry, N.H., Alan Demers and his fiance Lise Marquis of Lawrence; daughter-in-law, Karen of Braintree; a brother, Leo Catineau and his wife Helen of Salem, N.H.; five grandchildren, Christopher, Leah, and Sarah Demers, and Lisa and Brian Kane; three step-grandchildren, Tanya, Amy and Jeremy Zeytoonian;. and two nieces and two nephews.ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends may call tomorrow from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. BOYNTONVILLE - Wilbert Thomas Lagasse, 84, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday after a brief illness.Wilbert was born on January 29, 1921, in Cohoes, son of the late Arthur and Eva (Ouellette) Lagasse.He attended St. Marie's School and later Cohoes High School.As a first gunner's mate in the U.S. Navy during World War II, his tour of duty included two invasions in Iwo Jima, the Pacific, North Africa and Europe. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1945. Wilbert worked for the Watervliet Arsenal for a brief time before the war and then returned there after serving. He held down a number of different jobs at the Arsenal, but spent most of his long stint there as a spectroscopist in the laboratories. He retired in March 1983 after 41 years of distinguished service.He married Leora Jones, a hairdresser from Cobleskill, in 1946 and together they enjoyed 33 years of happy marriage before her death in 1979.The couple had four children, Simone Lagasse of Petersburgh, Michele Lagasse of Boyntonville, Mark Lagasse and his companion Gary Sunshine of New York City and Suzanne Kimball and her husband Alan of Salt Lake City, Utah.The family lived in Cohoes until moving to Boyntonville in 1961.After his retirement from the Arsenal, Wilbert began another successful career as a recreational activity volunteer at the Weston Hadden Center and the Bennington Health & Rehabilitation Center for 21 years, where he ran activities like crossword, bingo and other games, woodworking classes and discussion groups. He also was a volunteer at the Hoosick Falls Health Center for six years.He was known for his ready sense of humor, patience and deep sense of humanity. He won the Vermont RSVP Volunteer of the Year Award, not once but twice in 1995 and 2004.Wilbert lived his whole life with great enthusiasm and energy. He refinished hundreds of pieces of antique furniture, which now inhabit his home and the homes of his children.He loved to garden, planting over 3,000 trees and bushes on his 9-acre property. He enjoyed swimming in lakes and especially the ocean.Anyone whoever met Wilbert will never forget his limitless love, caring and generosity.A communicant of St. George's Catholic Church in Pittstown for over 40 years, Wilbert leaves his four children as well as his sister Hilda Vogel of Cohoes. He was predeceased by two sisters, Dolores Berthiaume and Vivian Chouinard, both formerly of Latham. Wilbert also leave his longtime devoted companion Claire Santway of Bennington, VT.A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, May 6, at 10:30 a.m. at St. George's Catholic Church in Pittstown. Burial will follow the service at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery in Schuylerville.There will be no calling hours.Arrangements are under the direction of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main St. in Hoosick Falls.

FRENCHVILLE - Claire Marquis, 85, died May 3, 2005, at her residence. She was born Oct. 31, 1919, in Frenchville, the daughter of Alexandre and Julie (Roy) Marquis. She entered the convent at the age of 17 and became sister Dominic in the Religious order of our Lady of the Holy Rosary. As a nun she taught school in Frenchville at the Bailey Elementary school and for a short time at the St. Martin of Tours School in Millinocket. She helped many as a volunteer in her home town of Frenchville. She visited the sick and provided home care service for the needy. She enjoyed socializing with friends and playing cards. She loved traveling to religious shrines such as Medjugorje and Rome. She was a devoted lifelong Catholic, belonged to prayer groups and distributed religious materials. She donated land for a large cross which was erected next to her home on Route 1, where her mother and father once farmed and raised their family. This Dozule' cross is now maintained by the Knights of Columbus. She is survived by two sisters, Edna Berube of Falmouth and Irene Marquis of Florida; several nieces and nephews; and her two beloved cats. She was predeceased by her parents; and three brothers, Adolphe, Rosaire, Cesaire; and one sister, Freda. Friends and relatives may call at the Michaud Funeral Home in Frenchville 7-9 p.m. Thursday, May 5 and 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at the St. Luce Catholic Church with the Rev. Phil Cyr officiating. Burial will be in the St. Luce Cemetery.

OLD TOWN - Leland M. Paradis, 74, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at his residence sur-rounded by his family following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Old Town, Nov. 22, 1950, son of the late Edward and Rose A. (Brissette) Paradis. Leland graduated from Old Town High School, Class of 1950. Leland served as captain of the varsity basketball team and as co-captain of the varsity football team under the late coach Bernard Mackenzie. Following high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force. Leland graduated from DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago and returned to the Bangor area, working at Sears & Roebuck while operating his own part-time TV repair business. For 16 years he worked as the appliance department manager for the W.T. Grant Company in Old Town until 1976. He eventually retired from James River Corporation. Leland was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, camping, fishing, and especially snowmobiling, and motorcycling with his wife and family. Leland is survived by and will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Elizabeth "Betty" (Provost) Paradis of Old Town; son, Edward L. Paradis of Old Town, son, Eric M. Paradis and his wife, Deborah of Bangor; daughter, Erin E. (Paradis) Roy of Bangor; three grandchildren, Benjamin M. Paradis, Kaleigh E. Roy, and Alexander J. P. Wark. He is also survived by his sister, Anita Jameson of Old Town, sister, Antoinette Oak of Bucksport, brother, Maynard Paradis of Old Town, and many very special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Leland was predeceased by a brother, Armand C. Paradis and a sister, Noreen Lousier. A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, with the Rev. Normand Richard officiating. EXETER — Robert E. Roy, longtime Exeter teacher, died on May 4, 2005, at his home in Exeter.He was born Oct. 9, 1936, in Rochester, N.H., son of Dr. Wilfrid and Mary (Schlenker) Roy, and resided in Rochester, N.H.He graduated from Assumption Preparatory, Worcester, Mass., then Plymouth State University and earned his master’s degree from SUNY.He taught science for 33 years at Exeter Junior High in Exeter, retiring in 1997, where he had resided with his wife of 45 years, Rosemonde, “Lin”.He was an athlete both at prep school and college, earning many honors in basketball and baseball. He played on a semi-pro baseball team in Somersworth. He coached basketball, baseball and golf at Exeter High School and was always involved with youth sports. He became an NHIAA official in basketball and lacrosse and traveled around the state to many high schools.He was a member of the Exeter Congregational Church, serving as trustee, deacon and on many other committees. He also belonged to NHST, NEA, ETA, and volunteered for Life Wise, giving water demonstrations to local schools.In addition to his wife, Rosemonde Roy, he had one son, Robert Earle, who lives in Dover with his wife, Susan; three grandchildren, Emily, John, Robert and one step-grandchild, Jacob. He leaves several nieces and nephews, and a special daughter, Beth Provencher. He was predeceased by his twin brother, Richard, and an older brother, Wilfrid.He always enjoyed his family, sports, fishing, boating and working on projects.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 7 at 11 a.m. at the Exeter Congregational Church, located on 21 Front St. in Exeter. Genevieve Dobson TAVISTOCK, ON - Marie Agnes Genevieve "Gen" Dobson, 94, formerly of Shemogue, New Brunswick, passed away in Tavistock, Ontario on Sunday, May 1, 2005 where she had resided since 2001. She was born at Shemogue on June 27, 1910, a daughter of the late Angus M. Niles and the former Amelia Blanche. Gen was predeceased by her husband, Gaius R. Dobson in 1995 and by her sons, Keith Dobson in 1993 and Rolph Dobson in 2004. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Peter Rocke of Bloomfield, New Jersey; her daughterin-law, Elizabeth "Betty" Dobson of Brantford, Ontario; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; her brother-inlaw and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Anne Dobson of Shemogue, New Brunswick and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at St. Luke's Anglican Cemetery, Baie Verte, New Brunswick. The Rev. Rufus Onyewuchi will officiate. HELENA - Leo Dwight Roland died Sunday, May 1, 2005, at his home in Helena after an extremely long and courageous battle with cancer.Leo was born May 2, 1936, in Phillipsburg to Leo and Alice Roland. He attended school in Dillon, graduating from Beaverhead High School. He was proud to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951-1954 in the Engineer's Battalion and as a reservist until 1961.Leo graduated from Oregon Technical Institute as a diesel technician and from McCain Institute in Grants Pass, Ore., for AutoCAD and construction estimating.On April 23, 1962, Leo married Margaret Ann LaRouque. He and Maggie ranched on the West Fork for 30 years, but most of which time he worked on Alaska's North Slope.His career in Alaska began with building the airfield at the start of the pipeline project, then continued as a welder, diesel mechanic and shop foreman for more than 25 years.He was a packer-wrangler for the U.S. Forest Service, and a private outfitter for many years.Leo was a devoted member of the local Operating Engineers Union and the second longest card-holder in that union.He loved working with horses, camping, fishing and packing in the mountains and especially loved being with family.Leo was very well read in the area of Montana and American Indian history, was a fascinating storyteller and had a wonderfully wicked sense of humor.Leo was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert; sisters, Juanita, Carmen and Ramona; a daughter, Theresa; a granddaughter, Amber; and his beloved wife Maggie.He is survived by his children, Kerry Roland, Quintin Roland (Breanna), Stephen Roland (Sandy), Patrick Roland (Cindy) and Shannon Lawson (John); 11 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; his nephews and nieces (his "adopted" children); and great-nephews and great-nieces.Leo was a pillar of strength for all of us, a mentor for us and our children, and although we miss his physical presence greatly, his wisdom humor and strength will live on for many generations.Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, May 6, at St. Philip's Catholic Church in Darby. Graveside services will be held at noon Saturday, at Point of the Rocks Cemetery in Twin Bridges.Arrangements are under the care of the Daly-Leach Chapel.
