TEWKSBURY -- Roger R. Ducharme, 83, a resident of Tewksbury for more than 40 years, died yesterday, Feb. 8, at D'Youville Senior Care Center in Lowell. He was the husband of Dorothy M. (Austin) Ducharme; they were married for 61 years.He was born in Boston on July 26, 1921, son of the late Albert H. and Marie (Trepanier) Ducharme. He was raised in Lowell and attended St. Marie School and graduated from Lowell Vocational Technical High School.Mr. Ducharme worked as a finish carpenter for Jack Bent and Stanley Phalen in the Lexington and Concord area. Before his retirement in 1984, he was employed as a carpenter by Raytheon Corp.He was a charter member of the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. He was also a member of the Massachusetts and New Hampshire Archaeology Society and the Centerville Sportsman's Club in Lowell.Mr. Ducharme enjoyed playing golf, woodworking, music, building and playing mandolins, and was an avid collector of arrowheads.In addition to his wife, his survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger J. and Wendy (Wright) Ducharme of Chelmsford, and Marcel R. and Theresa (Cardone) Ducharme of Lawrence; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jane D. and Donald N. Kirkland Jr. of Derry, N.H. and Rachel D. Ducharme of Lowell; three grandchildren, Donald N. Kirkland III, Dawn (Ducharme) Kelly and Kimberly Ducharme; and a great-granddaughter.Mr. Ducharme was also the father of the late Alvin G. Ducharme; and brother of the late Robert J. Ducharme. FRANK LEE DUBUQUE, 53, of Houston, born September 1, 1951 entered eternal rest on Friday, February 4, 2005. NEW BEDFORD -- Private funeral services were held for Dr. Donald C. Courtemanche, 77, of New Bedford, who died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Jeanne P. (Bonneau) Courtemanche. Born in Acushnet, the son of the late Napoleon and Blanche (Dextraze) Courtemanche, he lived in New Bedford for many years. Dr. Courtemanche was a graduate of the Chicago College of Chiropody and the New England Institute. He maintained a practice in New Bedford until he retired four years ago. Survivors include his widow; a brother, Richard Courtemanche; a sister-in-law, Juliette Courtemanche; two nieces; and a nephew. He was the brother of the late Arthur Courtemanche. HARRON, R. James (Jim) Passed away peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, Ontario, on February 7, 2005 in his 88th year. Survived by his wife D. Josephine Harron, (nee Cruickshank) of Owen Sound and sons J. Beverley Harron of Arnprior, Brian Harron and his wife Barbara of Arnprior, Gerald Harron and his wife Carol of Mississauga. Grandfather to Dr. Christine Harron (Neil Wilson), Geoffrey Harron, Susan Anastasopoulos (Jim), Jamie Harron (Angela). Great-grandfather to Emma, Aidan, Connor and Noah. Predeceased by his parents Robert A. Harron and Louella Matilda Nickason, his brother William (Bill) Harron and sister Margaret Hall. Born and raised in Arran Township, Jim moved to Ottawa in 1941 where he was employed by the National Research Council of Canada for 33 years. An avid fisherman and ham radio operator, he was an active member of the Georgian Bay Amateur Radio Club. Known for his friendliness and sense of humour, Jim will be sadly missed by family, friends and numerous nieces and nephews. Service for R. James Harron will be held in the Funeral Chapel of Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, Ont. at 1:00 p.m. on February 10, 2005. Visitation will be from noon to 1:00 p.m. before the service. LEOMINSTER -- Arlene T. (Champa) Bussiere, 86, of 94 Summer St., Fitchburg, formerly of 24 Mckinley St., Leominster, died Monday, Feb. 7, in Hillcrest Nursing Home, Fitchburg, after an illness. She was born in Fitchburg on May 20, 1918, the daughter of the late Michael and Giovannina (Carbone) Champa, and lived here all of her life.Mrs. Bussiere was employed at the former Cluet Peabody Company for 22 years as a seamstress.She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Parish in Leominster and attended Fitchburg schools.She enjoyed entertaining her family and friends, bingo, and playing cards with her friends. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed cooking, sewing and decorating her home. She sewed a teddy bear for each of her 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.Mrs. Bussiere leaves two sons, Richard F. Bussiere Jr. of Fitchburg and his wife, Donna L. and John “Jack” E. Bussiere and his wife, Susan, of Fitzwilliams, N.H.: one daughter, Darlene MacDonald and her husband, Larry, of Garland, Texas; two brothers, Anthony and Michael Champa, both of Fitchburg; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and grandnieces and grandnephews. Her husband of 48 years, Richard F. Bussiere Sr., died on Dec. 23, 1990. FRANKLIN -- Juliette M. Berube, 75, of South Curtisville Road in Concord, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at Presidential Oaks in Concord. She was born in Franklin on Dec. 13, 1929, the daughter of Archille and Laurene (Legare) Doucette. Mrs. Berube was a lifelong resident of Franklin and was a graduate of Franklin High School. She was formerly of 13 School St. in Franklin. She was a former director of CAP (Community Action Program) in Franklin. For several years, Mrs. Berube was employed at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton prior to retirement. She was a former member of the State Employees Association and was a communicant of St. Paul Church. Mrs. Berube was a member of the former Franklin Senior Citizens. She was the widow of Adelard E. Berube, who died in 1978. Family members include four children, Laureen M.J. Greeb of Auburn, Glenna R. Presby of Penacook, Donna L. Finlay of Concord and Richard A. Berube of Bristol; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jeannine Panneton and Simone Joulbert, both of Manchester; and nieces and nephews. DRACUT -- Victor A. Dery, 83, died Monday, Feb. 7, at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell following a brief illness. He was the husband of Germaine (Martin) (Loiselle) Dery.He was born in Lowell on Dec. 11, 1921, son of the late Louis and Emma (Theriault) Dery.During World War II, Mr. Dery served in the Army Air Forces.He was employed by Delta Air Lines for 38 years as the head of shipping and freight department.He was a member of the Lowell American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars Walker Rogers Post 662, and Green Meadow Golf Club.Besides wife, his survivors include two stepdaughters, Suzanne Lagasse of Lowell and Denise Loiselle and her companion, Satiro Melo, of Lowell; a stepson, Roger Loiselle and his life partner, Michael Dragon of Meredith, N.H.; two grandsons, Glenn and Scott Lagasse; and a granddaughter, Savannah Melo.Mr. Dery was also the brother of the late Normand and Alfred Dery. Lelia Punch Allemand, 81, a native of Valentine and resident of Larose, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005. Polep & Sons for 15 years. Paul was an avid sports fan and collector of antiques. He was predeceased by his parents Delmore and Genevieve Bourassa. WINSLOW -- Eugenie (Wilma) Doiron, 75, passed away unexpectedly at her home Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, in Winslow.She was born April 17, 1929, in Cologne, Germany, the daughter of Eugene and Klara de La Motte.Wilma grew up in war-torn Germany and constantly moved to different towns due to the turmoil of World War II. She came to America in the 1950s where she obtained her citizenship after settling in Maine and raised five children. She worked for Keyes Fibre Co. until she retired.In her retirement, she enjoyed her children and grandchildren, attending school functions and sporting events. She spent time meeting with her group of German friends, traveling within the United States and abroad visiting family. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, collected dolls and Hummels. Her first priority was always to her children and grandchildren. That was when she was the happiest.She was predeceased by her parents and her son, James.Wilma touched the lives of many family and friends and is survived by her sisters Lilo, husband Faulker Grineisen, and Heidi de La Motte and their families, all living in Germany; her sons, Richard of Navasota, Texas, William of Waterville, John and his wife, Annette, of Montgomery, Ala., her daughter Desere and her husband, Darrell Gilman, of Fairfield. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Elijah, Joshua, Ryan, Kaleena, Brandon, Matthew, Heather, Kayla and Zachary, and six stepgrandchildren, Darrell, Deanne, Nikki, Michael, Adam and Sammy; five great-grandchildren, Kirby, Julia, Karsyn, Taylor and Kinley. BRUSSEAU, CHAD WILLIAM July 3, 1973 - February 5, 2005. Chad William Brusseau was born July 3, 1973, in Portland. He lost his battle with drug addiction Feb. 5, 2005. He was 31 years old. A celebration of his life will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12 at Lincoln Street Baptist Church, 3240 SE Lincoln St. At a young age, Chad's stubborn attitude and mischievous behavior led to many laughs and memories. Chad attended Benson High School. He enjoyed cars, music, and joking with the people he loved. You could always count on him for a laugh. His son, Austin William Brusseau, was born July 23, 1996. Chad was a very proud father and had pictures to show to anybody who would hold still. Chad left an impression on everybody who met him. He has taken with him a piece of every person whose life he touched. He has left behind a piece of himself with each of us. He is survived by his son, Austin; parents, David and Karon Brusseau; brothers, Ryan and Auston; sister, Shannon McCullough (Craig); grandmothers, Emma Brusseau and Lee Koch; niece, Emmalee McCull-ough; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Paul Alcide Gregoire, 68, a native and resident of Dulac, died at 9:58 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005. Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mary Solet Gregoire of Dulac; one son, Paul I. Gregoire and wife, Roxanne, of Dulac; two daughters, Mathilda Verret and husband, Glen, of Dulac, and Pauline Bergeron and husband, Pete, of Gray; one brother, John Gregoire of Houma; two sisters, Celine Martinez and Antoine Feet of Grand Caillou; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierre Gregoire and Marie Solet Gregoire; two brothers, Joseph Julius "Ringo" Gregoire and Pierre "Neg" Gregoire; one sister, Anna Mae Gregoire; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Gregoire and Mr. and Mrs. Michelle Solet. He was a retired ice maker with Ivy Authement Ice Company for 49 years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 7722 of Dulac, 3rd and 4th degree, Holy Name Society President, past Color Grand Commander for last 24 years, past Faithful Navigator, and past Grand Knight. He was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church.

SMITH, THE REVEREND A. RAYMOND - The Reverend A. Raymond Smith, 96, of Gardiner died Saturday, February 5, 2005 at the Alzheimer's Care Center in Gardiner. He was born February 28, 1908 in Long Reach, New Brunswick, Canada, the son of Frederick Edwin and Frances (Holder) Smith. He attended schools in Long Reach and Kingston in New Brunswick and graduated from King's College Divinity School of Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was ordained to the priesthood in the Anglican tradition in 1932. During his long career in the ministry, Father Smith served parishes in New Bandon, Campobello, Stanley and St. Stephen in New Brunswick, Fort Fairfield, Maine, North Grafton, Massachusetts, Woodstock, Vermont and Augusta and Hallowell, Maine. Early in his ministry, Father Smith was a Protestant Chaplain for a small leper colony in Tracadie, New Brunswick. Later, he was Rector of St. Anne's Anglican Church, Campobello Island, which was attended by President Franklin D. Roosevelt and family during their summers on the island. He was asked to participate in services at St. James Episcopal Church in Hyde Park, New York, during the 1939 Royal Visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth of England. While Father Smith was serving at Saint Andrew's Church in North Grafton, Massachusetts, he was instrumental in the construction of a new church building with one of the first fiberglass steeples in the United States. He also created and conducted a radio program of evening prayer titled,"Tis Eventide." This program continued through his ministry at Saint James' Church in Woodstock. Father Smith was very active in the Ministry of Spiritual Healing and in the Order of Saint Luke, becoming well known in the field and eventually the director of the eastern region of the School of Pastoral Care. He officially retired from Saint James' in 1974 and returned to Maine to continue his ministry at parishes in Hallowell and Augusta until his final retirement in 1988. Father Smith had built a summer camp on the bank of the Saint John River in Long Reach, N.B. in 1947. He greatly enjoyed returning there every summer with his family. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Frances Plimsoll Withers and his second wife, the former Katherine Collins Mayer. Father Smith is survived by a sister, Lillian Grant, of Roxboro, Quebec; his three children, Frances Roger and her husband, John, of New Milford, CT, Gray Smith, of South Thomaston, ME and Susannah Watts and her husband, Andrew, of Augusta, ME; eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Saint James' Anglican Church, Long Reach, N.B., Canada. OBITUARY JOSEPHINE VIVIEN WALKLEY Ninety-three, of Springfield, Massachusetts passed away on January 31, 2005 after a brief illness. Ms. Walkley had just relocated to the Albany, New York area to be closer to family members and was a resident at the Eddy-Ford Nursing Home in Cohoes at the time of her death. Ms. Walkley was born in Montreal, Canada on September 21, 1911 and was the daughter of the late Alexander J. and Gertrude Leroy (Getz) Walkley and stepdaughter of the late Ann Mary (Marshall) Walkley. Ms. Walkley grew up in Westmount, was a communicant at St. Matthias Church, and spent her summers in the country north of Montreal with her mother's family, Ivan and Elsie (Getz) Dyer of Montreal. In 1926, she moved to New York City with her father and stepmother. Ms. Walkley graduated from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn in June 1932 with a degree in Dietetics and from 1932 to 1944, owned and operated the Jean Adams' Bake Shop in Boonton, New Jersey with her stepmother. Ms. Walkley developed quite a reputation as a superb pastry and dessert chef and for the next sixty years, her lemon meringue pies and strawberry chiffon cakes were always in demand at family functions. Ms. Walkley was a member of the Boonton Junior Women's Club and served as its President during the difficult wartime period of 1944 to 1945. Much of the Club's activities during Ms. Walkley's tenure as President were devoted to fundraising and volunteer work for the war effort and making items for soldiers. After her father's death, Ms. Walkley and her stepmother moved to Springfield in 1945 where Ms. Walkley was employed as Head Dietician of the former Springfield Municipal Hospital until her retirement. Ms. Walkley was a member of the Springfield Hobby Club and a communicant of the former St. Aidens Church and St. Luke's Episcopal Church of Springfield. She also continued to maintain her affiliation with St. Matthias Church in Westmount. Ms. Walkley was devoted to her family and friends, cared for her stepmother at home for fifteen years after she was taken ill, and was still baking bread and making chicken soup and delivering them to sick friends and family members as recently as three months prior to her own death. Ms. Walkley was also an amateur clothing designer and took great pleasure in designing her own dress patterns and fashioning dresses and jackets from some of the interesting fabrics she obtained during her many trips and adventures to exotic locations. While in her seventies and eighties, Ms. Walkley traveled to the Galapagos Islands and rode in an outrigger canoe, flew in a helicopter over the glaciers in Alaska, and traveled to India, Egypt, Japan, Israel, Rome, Hungary, and Panama, just to name a few destinations. Never one to sit still, Ms. Walkley returned to college when she was seventy-nine to learn computer science. Ms. Walkley is survived by numerous cousins in Massachusetts, New York, and Canada and countless friends circling the globe. A Rite of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 11, 2005 at 11 a.m. at St. Matthias Church, 10 Church Hill, Westmount, Quebec, followed by burial in the family plot at Mount Royal Cemetery. There will be a visitation period from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Matthias Church immediately preceeding the funeral. A special memorial service will be held for Ms. Walkley on Sunday, February 27, 2005 at 9 a.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 981 St. James Avenue, Springfield, Mass. The Collins, Clarke, MacGillivray, White Funeral Home, 5610 Sherbrooke Street West, Montreal, Quebec is handling arrangements in Montreal. Ingénieur chimiste diplômé de Worcester (Mass.), André Tasso a été durant de longues années au service d'Alcan, à Shawinigan et à Montréal. A l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec dont il a été directeur du service des communications, de 1975 à 1978, il a surtout entrepris d'améliorer les rapports à plus d'un niveau, entre les membres et leur conseil, tout comme entre l'Ordre, les autorités et le public en général. Ses activités professionnelles dans certains pays du Moyen-Orient - qu'il connaissait bien, ayant été un ancien élève du Victoria College du Caire et, à ce titre, l'invité une fois d'un autre Old Victorian, feu le roi Hussein de Jordanie - lui ont permis d'exposer dans des articles et études, des principes et des stratégies de communication sur le plan humain aussi bien que sur celui des relations professionnelles. Un mémoire sur l'efficacité et le contrôle dans les entreprises gouvernementales lui a valu un prix de The Academy of Management de Boston, Mass. en 1984, à sa 44e Assemblée annuelle. Remerciements très particuliers au Dr Francis Aboussouan et à Mme Hélène Somma ainsi qu'à son mari, Dr Maurice Somma, pour leur soutien médical et moral assuré longtemps au défunt. DIXON, James "Jim" Richard In loving memory of James Richard Dixon, 60 years of Sudbury who passed away Tuesday morning, February 8, 2005 at his residence. He was born in Sudbury and married Sharon (Hurst) in 1965 in Orrville. A life resident of Sudbury, Jim had been an engineer in the Transportation Dept. at INCO having 32 years service, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the INCO Quarter Century Club. A proud Canadian he had served in the Canadian Army for 3 years having been stationed in Germany. He was a well liked and known member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #76, Sudbury. He was a skilled woodworker and he enjoyed doing home repairs and crossword puzzles. He had been a longtime blood donor. Jim was devoted to his loving family. DONALD BYRON PELTIER Age 86, of Burbank, California, died Sunday, February 6, 2005, at his home in Burbank. Mr. Peltier was a general contractor and had served in the Army during WWII as a paratrooper. He was born May 30 , 1918 in Crookston, Minnesota. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Geraldine Peltier; one son, Roger Peltier of Valencia, California; sister, Leah Wick of Crookston; and three granddaughters, Michele Prescott of Fontana, California, Wendy Wilson of Mission Viejo, California, and Julie Peltier of Placencia, California. Outre son époux, elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants: Nelson (Anita) et Denise; ses petits-enfants: Yanick, Patrice et Isabelle; son frère Dominique et sa soeur Gemma, plusieurs neveux et nièces, parents et amis. GALLANT, Jonathan Accidentellement, à Richmond, le 5 février 2005, est décédé à l'âge de 19 ans, monsieur Jonathan Gallant, demeurant à Richmond. Monsieur Jonathan Gallant laisse dans le deuil ses parents, Mario Gallant et Marjolaine Bujold, son frère Patrick, son amie chérie Geneviève Phaneuf, ses grands-parents paternels, madame Lise Yergeau et monsieur Victor Gallant, sa grand-mère maternelle madame Françoise Cyr (Roger Hébert), ses oncles, tantes, cousins, cousins, et autres parents et amis. Beloved husband of Helene (Elpelt) Churan of Blezard Valley. Loving father of Peter of Blezard Valley and Evalyn of Edmonton. Cherished grand- father of Rebecca and Brian. Born in Czechoslovakia, he worked as a miner at INCO for 40 years, retiring in 1992. Mike married Helene in Sudbury in 1955.
