GROSS, Dorora Blanche (née Gauthier) 1917 - 2005 Paisiblement, dans son sommeil, au Manoir Trinité de Longueuil, le 27 janvier 2005. Prédécédée par son cher époux pendant 60 ans, Syd, ainsi que par sa fille Dorothea (Scott). Elle laisse dans le deuil sa fille Lois (Luc April), son fils John (Claire Gélinas), sa soeur Jeannine (Léo Côté), ainsi que son amie et belle-soeur Corona Gross. Elle laisse également sept petits-enfants, des arrière-petits-enfants ainsi que nièces et neveux. Born at Houlton, Maine, he was the son of the late Thomas John and Elizabeth Hannah (Hawkes) Graham. Hugh is survived by a sister, Beatrice Murray (Fred) of Woodstock; a brother, Raymond of Woodstock; and several nieces and nephews. Hugh was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. John was born in Haddington, Scotland on June 2nd, 1930. C. Tilmon Richard 1939 - 2005 SAINT CHARLES, NB - Charles Tilmon Richard, 65, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2005, at the Moncton City Hospital after a battle with cancer. Born in Saint Ignace, April 4, 1939, he was the son of the late Emile F. Richard and the late Marguerite (Daigle). Retired from his autobody and towing business, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sylvia (Daigle); four children, Gisele (Craig MacArthur) of Riverview, Linda (Ron Caissie) of Cap Pelé, Edmond of USA, Diane of Ontario and one special grandson, Daniel. Also survived by six sisters, Georgette (late Laurie Gallant) of Ontario, Rosa (Josephat Vautour) of St Ignace, Madelaine (David Perry) of Saint John, NB, Theresa Richard of St Louis, Eva (Emile Daigle) of St Charles, Geneva (Raymond Cormier) of USA; one brother, Yvon of Ontario; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. As per Tilmon's wish there will be no visitation prior to the Funeral Mass that will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at 2:00 PM at the St Charles Borromée Catholic Church, St Charles, N.B. Robert D. Colpitts CALGARY, AB - Robert David Colpitts of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 from complications following surgery for cancer at Foothills Hospital in Calgary. He was 64 years old. Born in Fawcett Hill, NB, on November 22, 1940, he was the son of the late Ralph and Nellie (Goddard) Colpitts. A graduate of Petitcodiac Regional High School, he was a former member of the Canadian Armed Forces, and retired from the Federal Civil Service in 2000. He leaves to mourn his daughter, Diana Colpitts, of Calgary; and two grandsons, Christopher and Kayne. He also leaves a sister, Ruth Williamson, of Riverview, NB; an aunt, Ruth Blakney, of Intervale, NB; his stepmother, Freda Colpitts of Fawcett Hill; his stepbrother, Gordon Douglas of Moncton; an aunt by marriage, Etta Goddard of Intervale; a niece and several nephews and cousins. John Charles Roger Woolway DARTMOUTH, NS - John Charles Roger Woolway, 81, passed away January 30, 2005. He was a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Woolway, devoted husband of Betty, father of Susan and Deborah (Albert Andrews) of Dartmouth and Myfanwy (Michael Ferris) of Riverview, NB; grandfather to Caitlin, Valmai, Bryn, Bronwyn, Jennifer and Maxwell. He was educated at Jamaica College, Jamaica, Hereford Cathedral School in the United Kingdom, King Alfred's College in Winchester, United Kingdom, and Loughborough University in the United Kingdom. He served in the Second World War as Lancaster pilot in the R.A.F. He taught in schools in the United Kingdom and Saint John, NB, including many years at Saint John High School. He taught history, coached track and field, and rugby, and was an inspiration to countless students. He leaves in grieving family in Canada and England, and dear friends around the world. Born in Chester, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late Ren and Mary (McLean) Butler. Mrs. Squire was a member of the Four Lakes Seniors Club and enjoyed quilting. In addition to her husband, she was survived by one son, Leslie Alan Squire (Jolene) of Killarney Road; one daughter, Patricia Michaud (Yvan) of Douglas; six grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret and Doreen both of Nova Scotia; several nieces and nephews. RYAN, HELEN MARIE The death of Helen Marie Ryan of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on January 30, 2005. Helen was born in Hampton, NB and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary (Boyle) Ryan. She was a graduate of Hampton Consolidated High School in 1935 and she moved to Fredericton in 1938. She retired from the Department of Service and Supply in 1982 and was a member of St. Dunstan's Catholic Church. Helen is survived by one brother, Joseph Ryan (Jean) of Fredericton and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Evelyn Ryan of Fredericton and Rita Murphy of Saint John; one brother, Maurice Ryan of Saint John and one sister-in-law, Margaret Ryan of Saint John. ANDERSON, DELBERT CLIFFORD Delbert Clifford Anderson of Maugerville died, surrounded by members of his family, at the Chalmers Hospital on Monday, January 31, after a two-year battle with cancer. He was 59. Delbert was a well known contractor, electrician, equipment operator, trucker and fixer of anything mechanical. He loved classic autos and boating on the local waterways. Born in Fredericton, he was the son of the late Irvine and Mabel (Raymond) Anderson. Delbert is survived by his wife Karen (Wilkins) Anderson, daughter Jacqueline Anderson (Jeff Saunderson) of Maugerville, son Stevan (Heather) Anderson of Maugerville, daughters Michaele (Jason) Murray of Estey's Bridge and Natalie (Kevin) Gough of Maugerville, son Bradley (Maria) Doucette of Hanwell, NB; grandchildren Jordan, Maddison, Colton and Emma; brother Wayne (Judy) Anderson of Chelsea, Quebec, and several nieces and nephews. CUTLER, C. LEO - The death of C. Leo Cutler of Saint John, NB, husband of Helen (McGillivray) Cutler, occurred Monday, January 31, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Leo was devoted to his family and his church, Holy Trinity Parish, where he was a lifelong member and served as a Gentleman Altar Server for many years. He retired from his employment with the Province of New Brunswick Motor Vehicle Dept. in 1984. Born May 29, 1914, he was the eldest son of the late William and Daisy (Hiles) Howe. While residing in Dartmouth for 70 plus years, he served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 25 years serving during war and peace. He was then employed at the Halifax Dockyard for the next 18 years. Laurie was a life member of Chief and Petty Officers Mess, HMCS Stadacona and a member of Federal Superannuates Retired Association. His passions other than family were his woodworking and Dartmouth Continuing Education, golf at the Oakfield Golf Club and reading. Surviving are daughter, Melda; sons, David, Ray (Claire); sister, May; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; stepsisters, Mildred, Marjorie, Shirley; half-brothers, Bill and Brian. Cora Bernice Donaven (née Inglis) September 04, 1911 - February 01, 2005 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Cora at Idlewyld Manor on Sunday, January 30, 2005 in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Roy (1985). Loving mother of Audrey (Don) Merritt and grandmother to Jeff (Connie) Merritt, and Julie (Jim) Freund. She got great pleasure from her great-granddaughters, Amy, Erica, Samantha, Lindsay, and Dana. James Herbert Shinn February 23, 1920 - January 28, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Leyden's Funeral Home (Calgary) James Herbert Shinn, beloved husband of Barbara Shinn, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 28, 2005 at the age of 84 years. He was born on February 23, 1920 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Jim will be missed by his children: Jimmy (Karen) Shinn, Gary (Debbie) Laing, Debra Laing and Barbara (Bruce) Turner; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. James will also be missed by his siblings: George (Edie) Shinn and June Baswick, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Armed Forces, serving his country in World War II and the Korean War. He retired from the PPCLI in 1970, after 30 years of service. In his retirement, James volunteered at the Museum of the Regiments. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Ida was formerly from Henry Street, Dominion where she lived with her daughter, Luigia and granddaughter, Miranda Demeyere. Born in Treviso, Italy she was the daughter of the late Secondo and Giovanna (Michelin) Polegato. Ida came to Canada as a young bride and lived in Dominion most of her life. She was a member of St. Eugene’s Parish, Dominion. Ida was a life long member of the Italian Community Hall, Dominion. She will be sadly missed by her loving daughters, Lena (Geverino) Gazzola, Guelph,Ont., Livia Gallina, Niagara Falls, Ont. and Luigia Demeyere. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, sister, Mary (Charlie) Zaniol, Niagara Falls and her extended family of the Ground Floor at Seaview Manor, Glace Bay. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Mario, daughter, Laura, grandson, Andrew Tratnik, two great granddaughters and one great great grandson in infancy. Rita Agnes Fisher February 19, 1923 - January 30, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Leyden's Funeral Home (Calgary) Rita Agnes Fisher (nee Kelly), passed away January 30, 2005 at the Intercare Brentwood Care Centre, after many years of failing health. A long time resident of the Intercare Chinook Care Centre, renovations required the recent move to the Intercare Brentwood Care Centre. Rita was born February 19, 1923 and lived her entire life in Calgary. She was particularly proud of this, especially when it came to cheering on her favourite teams, The Flames and Stampeders. In her younger years, although being forced to leave school early due to illness, she spent several years running her own hair salon. Rita was married to Bruce Fisher and raised three children. The marriage ended in divorce in 1971. Rita worked at various jobs until the effects of several strokes forced her to move in the Chinook Care Centre. Rita is survived by her brother James and family, daughters Maureen (Ron) of Medicine Hat and Colleen (Geoff) and son Wayne (Wendy), both of Calgary. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Kelli, Heather, Annette, Breanne and Coleton, as well as several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Agnes Kelly and her brother Robert. The family wishes to thank the staff of both the Chinook and BrentwooD Care Centres for the care given to their mother over the years. Their care and thoughtfulness was appreciated. Although sadness prevails, Mom is finally free of the shackles that poor health brought. Tom Robert Kirby June 29, 1910 - January 29, 2005 RCAF Funeral arrangements by Gordon F Tompkins Funeral Homes (Township Chapel) Tom passed away peacefully in Kingston, Ontario, on January 29, 2005, after a long life of caring, generosity and independence, and a short but intense struggle with age. He was born in Montreal, where he lived until 1995. He worked for many years at General Latex and Chemicals of Canada (Ltd), and retired as Vice-President. He served in the RCAF and RAF as a Flight Lieutenant during World War II. Tom was the son of Eliza Ann Bray and Tom Coward Kirby, both originally of London, England. He is survived by his sons John and Peter, their wives Marlo and Mary Lou, and grandchildren Robert and Maaike. Tom was predeceased by his wife Ida May Leferme, his brother Percy, and his sister Lilian. The family would like to thank the staff of Kingston General Hospital and especially those of Trillium Ridge Nursing Home for their care, assistance and compassion. At Tom's request, there will be no funeral service, and his urn will be interred in the family burial plot in Mount Royal Cemetery, Montreal. Art came to Canada from Germany in 1956 and made his home in Winnipeg, where he met and married Gwen in 1962. Arthur was a devoted and hardworking family man. He worked as a machinist at Monarch Industries, until his retirement. Art and Gwen moved from their home in Rivercrest to Arnes, MB in 1997. Art always loved nature and his home in Arnes was his paradise. He had a passion for life and enjoyed the company of his family and friends and his devoted dog Lucky.
