Beatrice O. LeBeau, 92, of New Britain and formerly of Seminole, FL, passed away Sunday morning (January 23, 2005). She was the wife of the late Wilfred Leo LeBeau. Beatrice was born in Lebanon, ME and was the daughter of the late Ole T. and Mable T. (Vickery) Olsen. Beatrice lived in Bristol, before moving to Seminole, FL when her husband retired from Bristol Post Office. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Alice Marie, a brother Ernest Olsen and a sister Roberta Pyre. She is survived by her three sons, Wilfred Leo LeBeau Jr. of Southington, Homer LeBeau and his wife Elizabeth of Bristol, Robert LeBeau and his wife, Charlene of New Britain where Beatrice was making her home. Beatrice leaves a brother, Norman Olsen of Niagara Falls, NY; three grand children, James and his wife, Peggy; Tracey and her husband, Scott; Michael and his wife, Sara. Eight great grandchildren and a great- great grandchild. She also leaves two brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. She loved fishing with her husband in the Gulf on their little boat named "The Three Sons." They later bought a trailer naming it "The last Penny." They traveled across country many times. She loved to knit, crochet and needlepoint. She also loved to do crossword puzzles and make puzzles. She also leaves behind her beloved dog Princess. Services will be held on Friday, January 28, at 11 a.m. at New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain. Burial will be at the Serenity Gardens in Largo, FL. Calling hours will be on Thursday, January 27, from 5-7 p.m. and on Friday, from 10 a.m. till the time of service at New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, directions Exit 37 off I-84 take a right 1 1/2 miles on your right. GIRSTUN, Witold Jan Passed away peacefully on January 24, 2005 with his family by his side at 82 years of age. Devoted husband of Genevieve with whom he celebrated 54 years of marriage. Loving father of Irene and husband Gino Morga, and Anne Bernardon. Treasured Dziadzio of Jennifer Morga, Victoria Morga, and Nathaniel Bernardon. Dear brother of Alina Bos of Poland and brother-in-law of Sabina Hillsburg of Perth, Ontario. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Ludwik and Maria, sister Bozenna and brother Zbigniew all in Poland. Witold was born on May 28, 1923 near Wilno, Poland and after the occupation of his homeland by the Soviet Union, he served, commencing in 1942, in the Polish Forces under British command in Iran, Iraq, Palestine, Egypt, and Italy where he saw action in the battles at the Sangro and Rapido Rivers, the battle for Monte Cassino, the battle for Ancona, the battle for Bologna, and the Northern Apennines. For his bravery he was awarded the Cross for Valour and the Cross of Monte Cassino by the Polish Government as well as the 1939 1945 Star, the Italy Star, the Defense Medal, and the War Medal by Great Britain. He was honourably discharged in 1946 when he emigrated to Canada. He retired from Dominion Forge after 35 years of service, and was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Church and a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 537. PITTSFIELD -- Marie T. Gravelle, 71, of 38 Velma Ave. died Saturday evening at Hillcrest Commons, where she had been a patient since November. Born in Nancy, France, on Aug. 7, 1933, daughter of Adrien and Alexandrina Pelletant Briant, she was a graduate of schools there. She moved to Pittsfield in 1967. A homemaker, Mrs. Gravelle had been a photographer for the French government before her marriage. She was a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church. She was a supporter of the National Wildlife Foundation and enjoyed gardening, reading and listening to classical music. Her husband, longtime Pittsfield High School French teacher Bernard Gravelle, whom she married May 16, 1966, in New Lebanon, N.Y., died Dec. 7, 1999. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Marie T. Gravelle, who died Jan. 22, 2005, will be held Wednesday, Feb. 2, at 7 p.m. at St. Matthew's Church, Route 8, Becket, with the Rev. Mr. Sean T. Mulholland and the Rev. Mr. Pasqual Baldassaro, deacons, officiating. Interment of her ashes will take place in the spring. There will be no calling hours. Beloved son of deceased parents, Helen (nee Matcunic) and George Holjak. Beloved husband of Anna Holjak (nee Pribanic). Loving father of Ann (Barry) Andersen of St. Catharines, Jelica (Milan) Kauzlaric of Niagara-on-the-Lake, and Steve (Emma) Holjak of Port Colborne, and Antun (predeceased). Loved and cherished Grandfather (Djed a) of Fred (Elia) Kauzlaric, Michael Kauzlaric, Tania Holjak and Erika Andersen. Survived by brothers Nick (Manda) Holjak and George of St. Catharines, Jack (Nancy) Holjak, Joe (Jane Anne) Holjak; and sisters Mary Siebert, and Anna Pychel of Niagara Falls, and Helen of Oakville. Predeceased by his brother Steve Holjak in Alberta. Mike is also survived by many nieces and nephews and also great-nieces and nephews. Mike was born in the Ukraine and emigrated to Croatia (formerly Yugoslavia) in 1934 with his parents. He immigrated to Canada in April 1970 with his children, taking up residence in St. Catharines. Mike worked at Cunningham Foundry and Johnson Matthey Ltd., until his retirement in 1993. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Extendicare for their care and love. NICHOLAS (NICK) GRYNOL Nicholas Grynol, 78, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away suddenly on Monday, Jan. 24, 2005 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances. Nick was born Dec. 19, 1926 in Insinger, Sask. to Andrew and Helen Grynol. He grew up on the family farm one of nine children. His father passed away on May 2, 1944 and in 1947, Nick and his mother moved to Fort Frances. He had bartended at the Rainy Lake Hotel for two years before joining the Canadian National Rail in 1949. He retired as a yard switchman in September, 1985. On Dec. 29, 1962, he was united in marriage to the former Jacqueline Brundige. Nick was a very good member of St. George’s Ukrainian Church and the Ukrainian Reading Society. Nick enjoyed his weekly coffee club. He also loved to spend time gardening and with his family, especially his grandchildren. He leaves to mourn his wife, Jackie; daughter, Joan and her husband, John Fenner, of Montreal, Que., and their children, Ian, Eleanor, and Colin; sisters, Kay and husband, Walter Duchnicki, of Fort Frances, Ont., and Irene Kuchapski of Hamilton, Ont.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Nick was predeceased by his son, Andrew Grynol on Nov. 22, 1987; and brothers, Matt, John, Steve, Bill, Jim, and Harry. A visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005 from 7 until 9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 28, 2005 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home. Fr. Michael Kopchuk will officiate, with interment in the Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances. The pallbearers will be Bill Wepruk, Paul wepruk, Freddie Beck, Bob Grynol, Don Zeleny, and Tom Duchnicki. The honourary pallbearers will be all of Nick’s family and friends. WRIGHT, Cecil Elmer Age 88 of Port Carling and formerly of Maidstone in Essex County; died peacefully at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge on Tuesday, January 18, 2005. Husband of the late Lenore (nee Little) Wright of Maidstone who died October 6th, 1989. Loving partner of many years to Mandy Crawford. Son of Floyd and Minnie Wright (both predeceased) of Windsor. Predeceased by his five brothers Gerald, Don, Clarence, Gordon and Roy. Father of the late Fred Wright and father-in-law of Elaine of Kingsville. Father of Marion Ramsdale and her husband George of South Hampton. Father of Gary Wright and his wife Charlene of Port Calling. Father of Donna Upham and her husband Arthur of Port Carling. Grandfather to eleven and their devoted spouses; Cheryl Best of Yellowknife, Rick Wright of Port Carling, Joy DenHartogh of Port Carling, Rob Wright of Kingsville, Gena Taylor of Milton, Ron Ramsdale of Vancouver Island, Kim Robinson of Amherstburg, Kip Wright of Windsor, Tom Upham of Port Carling, Scott Upham of Perkinsfield and Dale Upham of Port Carling and their families including twenty-one great grandchildren. Cecil served for our country in the Airforce as an aircraft navigator. He was a foreman at the Ford Motor Company in Windsor until retirement. He then moved to Muskoka to the Hub of The Lakes - Port Carling and became an active member of the community. He was the founding President of the Port Carling Snowmobile Club (1975). Cecil worked 30 faithful years for the Lion's Club serving in many positions. He was an Honourable Member of Port Carling Legion Branch 529 and a member of the Windermere Anglican Church. He is sadly missed by all who he taught to: hook a worm, steer a boat, swing a club, ride a water bike, start a campfire, appreciate nature, respect others and have dignity in oneself but most of all to have fun, enjoy life and have no regrets. Barbara K. Chaille, age 72, of Airline Road, Young Harris, GA, passed away on Monday, Jan. 17, 2005 in the Murphy Medical Center, following an extended illness. Mrs. Chaille was born on Feb. 24, 1932 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Arthur Kveck and the late Louise Lenzi Kveck. She was a member of the Young Harris Garden Club and also the Young Harris Knitting Club. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Chaille, in 1985. Mrs. Chaille was of the Protestant faith. Surviving Mrs. Chaille are her loving husband, Robert, of Young Harris; one daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne Chaille and Darrel Dietz of Cumming, GA; two sons, Christopher Chaille of Palm Bay, FL and Matthew Chaille of Burien, WA; one brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Carol Kveck of Euless, TX; six grandchildren, Michelle, Tim, Adam, Liz, Sara and Jacob; one great-grandchild, Emily; many other relatives and friends. David P. Garceau Sr., 44, of Manchester, died January 20, 2005, after a sudden illness. Born in Fitchburg, MA, July 13, 1960, he was the son of Norman and Rita (Richard) Garceau. He lived in Connecticut for many years and had been a Manchester resident the past 10 years. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed fishing and the beach. IN HIS LIFE: He leaves his wife of 3 ½ years, Nancy (Cassidy) Garceau of Manchester; two sons, David Garceau Jr. Torrington, CT, and Nicholas Garceau of Manchester; a daughter, Michelle Garceau of Torrington, CT; a grandson, Micah Garceau of Tampa, FL; a sister, Denise Sica of Bristol, CT; a brother, Joseph Garceau of Bristol, CT;Many nieces and nephews. William B. Garneau, age 80, of Miami, Fla., went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2004, in Miami, Fla. Bill was born in Stratford, to the late Dr. Peter A. Garneau and Veronica Dargon, and is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Rosemary F. Garneau; one daughter, Patricia Barbara of Bradenton, Fla.; three sons, William C. Garneau and Michael W. Garneau of Miami; and James W. Garneau of Bethel; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Bill is also survived by his sister, Jeanne M. Richard of Trumbull; two brothers, John Garneau of Lighthouse Point, Fla., and James Garneau of Milford; and was predeceased by one son, Robert M. Garneau; two brothers, Pierre J. HOLYOKE - Joseph R. Beauchemin, age 81, of Holyoke, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Leeds. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late Adelard and Eva (Gauthier) Beauchemin, and was a graduate of Holyoke High School. Joseph was a United States Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He worked for many years for Sweet Life Foods, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Teamsters Local 559 of East Windsor, was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling at the Holyoke Bowl-O-Drome. Joe very much enjoyed knowing that his beloved Red Sox team won the World Series during his lifetime. He was predeceased by his wife of fifty years, Marcella T. (Morin) Beauchemin, in 1994. Survivors include three sons, Leon M. and his wife Deborah of Westfield, Nelson J. and his wife Maralyn of Madison, CT, and Kevin D. Beauchemin of Holyoke; three brothers, Donald and his wife Irene of Chicopee, Maurice and his wife Florence of Chicopee, and Norman and his wife Norma of Michigan; his grandsons, Joseph W. Beauchemin of East Bridgewater, MA and Matthew J. Beauchemin of Westfield; many nieces & nephews and friends. He was predeceased by a sister, Rita Beauchemin. Mr. VadeBonCoeur graduated from Kankakee Eastridge High School in 1978, the University of Illinois, Champaign, and the Federal Law Enforcement Center in Glyneo, Ga. He had a distinguished career as a National Park Service Law Enforcement Ranger. He served in various parks across the United States, most recently at Redwood National Park in California. During his career, he led forest fire fighting crews and was a certified DARE instructor. He participated in multiple, successful searches and rescues.

LEE -- Joseph C. Savery, 78, of 185 Stockbridge Road died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. He was a longtime member and former chairman of the School Committee and a former member of the state Board of Education. Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 7, 1926, son of Joseph E. and Julia Pellisier Savery, he was a 1944 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He had lived in Lee since 1951. An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific theater from 1944 to 1947. Mr. Savery was employed by Western Massachusetts Electric Co., now part of Northeast Utilities Systems, from 1948 until his retirement in 1989 as manager of its real estate department. He was a licensed and bonded real estate broker, overseeing the company's rights of way for many years. He also sat on the utility's legislative and industrial development committees and community relations task force, and was an assistant director of economic development. He had worked at General Electric Co. in Pittsfield for a short time after the service. During the 1960s, he was on loan from WMECO to the city of Pittsfield to be executive director of its Urban Coalition. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, where he was a eucharistic minister and lector and former member of the choir. He was a leader for Boy Scout Troop 54 for more than 30 years and was awarded St. George's Cross by the bishop of Springfield for his many years as a Catholic scoutmaster. He was a past president of the Pittsfield Kiwanis and former member of the Lee Kiwanis, and served as lieutenant governor of the local Kiwanis district. A member of the Lee School Committee for more than 25 years, he was appointed in 1982 to serve on the state Board of Education by former Gov. Edward King. He was chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Lee Industrial Development Commission, president of the Massachusetts Association of School Committees, and a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Library Association, Society of Real Estate Appraisers and the advisory board of Berkshire Bank in Lee. He was a member of the Greenock Country Club and its Wednesday Morning League, the Lee Sportsmen's Association, Lee PTA and the Boys' Club Alumni Association. He also helped raise funds for local clubs and youth activities. He and his wife, the former Florence Gomes, would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary April 3. They were married in St. Joseph's Church in Pittsfield. Besides his wife, he leaves four sons, Joseph A. Savery of Windsor, Conn., Michael E. Savery of North Greenbush, N.Y., Thomas J. Savery of Pittsfield and Matthew J. Savery of Bozeman, Mont.; a sister, Mary S. Porter of Burlington, Conn., and seven grandchildren. Mary Etta Day (née Thompson) February 03, 1921 - January 24, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home Peacefully on January 24, 2005, our loving mother and grandmother passed away at the St. Boniface General Hospital at the age of 83. Mom will be sadly missed by her loving son James (Shirley); daughter Betty (Gerry); grandchildren Scott, Darren (Rebecca), Michelle (Michael), Rodney (Angie), Kim and Kevin; as well as her siblings, Ethel, Frank, Pearl; and numerous other relatives. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Alastair Frances in 1972; parents Alfred and Lillian Thompson of Bagot, MB; and her siblings, Edith, Florence, George and Russel. Mom was born on February 3, 1921 in Bagot, MB where she attended Image Hill School from 1926 to 1934, actively participating in softball and ice skating. During the Second World War, she drove taxi in Portage la Prairie and drove Motor Transport for the Air Observer School Southport. She went through Selective Service in St. Catharines, ON working in a war factory and also driving bus for Niagara, St. Catharines and Toronto railways until the end of the war. Mom returned to Winnipeg in 1946 where she began work with Eaton’s department store and met her future husband Alastair. The next year, they were married and returned to Portage la Prairie where they resided until returning to Winnipeg in 1959, settling in Transcona. Mom would best be remembered for starting the Transcona Driving School in 1964, which she continued to operate until her retirement in 1984. Mary also enjoyed her time gardening and dancing. The family would like to thank Dr. John Foerster, Dr. Dennis Caners and the nurses of the St. Boniface General Hospital and Park Manor for their care and support. EAST FRANKLIN, Maine -- Ralph Eldon Grosjean, 82, died January 23, 2005 at home with his family in East Franklin. He was born January 30, 1922 in Omaha, Neb. to Wilbur and Hazel (Neilson) Grosjean. He graduated from high school in Omaha, attended the University of Nebraska and graduated from the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn. in 1945. He was stationed in the Philippines at the end of World War II. Ralph married Louisa Angus on June 7, 1945. They lived in North Chatham, N.Y. for nearly 50 years and raised their family there. They moved to Franklin in 2001. Ralph is remembered in North Chatham for a life of volunteer work in the community and the church. Ralph worked as a civil engineer in New York State until his retirement in 1977. He was a gifted artist, a singer, a fine craftsman and a calm and patient teacher. At the Coast Guard Academy he sailed on the ship Danmark and the schooner Atlantic and kept the love of sailing throughout his life. He will be remembered for his love of family and for his ability and willingness to give help whenever it was needed. Ralph was predeceased by two sons, Stephen and Andrew and a sister, Jeanne. He is survived by his wife Louisa; a son, Charles and his wife Susanne of Franklin; a daughter-in-law, Christine; a grandson, Emerson; a granddaughter, Lisa and her husband John of Norfolk, Conn.; a daughter-in-law, Lina and granddaughter, Rebecca of Malta, N.Y.; a grandson, Taino of New York City; a grandson, Jesse and his wife Laurel of Bangor; a grandson Carl of Troy; a sister Ellen of Dallas, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Stephen, Colin and John of Norfolk; several nieces and nephews. Beloved wife of Philip Gardner Rogers. Devoted mother of Philip (Patricia), Anne Taylor (Thomas), and Gordon (Dr. Veda Storey). Also survived by her ten grandchildren, Laura, Wesley, Derek, Keenan, Devon, Aidan, Corin, Brydan, Leith and Ivy Catherine. Predeceased by her brothers Mark and Victor Savage and sister Helen Irvin. Marguerite was a resident of Heritage Village in Vineland, Ontario. She was an avid figure skater, curler, golfer and a lover of classical music. LEWISTON -- Walda Beleckis Chantre, 83, of Maple Street, Hallowell, passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at Central Maine Medical Center, with her niece at her side. She was born in Lewiston on Feb. 27, 1921, the daughter of Joseph Beleckis and Paulina (Patrick) Beleckis. She was educated in Lewiston schools and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1940.Walda worked many years in Auburn until she left to join her husband, Napoleon, in their Augusta business, Nap's Trading Post. Walda and Napoleon were married for 48 years before his death in 1994. She also was predeceased by a brother, Stanley, and a nephew, Arnold.She was a dedicated lover of nature and gardening. Before her illness, Walda had the magic to make any plant or flower bloom to its full potential, as she did for all the people who were fortunate enough to be touched by her kind nature and endearing dry humor. She is survived by her devoted niece, Paula Beleckis; "Aunt Wawa" knew she was always there for her.At her request, there will be no public visiting hours. Burial will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Auburn, at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta.

Gunter Ballweg January 14, 1943 - January 23, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Jenkens Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre It is with sadness that we announce Gunter Ballweg passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 23, 2005. Gunter is survived by his daughter Kate, brothers-in-law Jim, Brian, John and Dave as well as many nieces and nephews. Gunter was predeceased by his wife Lorna, his sister Inge Warburton, his brother Lothar and his mother and father Bertha and Burkhard. Born in Germany, Gunter came to Canada at age 11. He later attended the University of Toronto and started his teaching career in Iroquois Falls, Ontario. Teaching took him next to Peterborough and then ultimately to Thunder Bay where he settled after meeting Lorna, his future wife. Gunter taught math at Fort William Collegiate for over twenty years and a few years at Hillcrest High School before retiring to more seriously pursue his bridge game. While at F.W.C.I., Gunter coached several sports teams. Most memorable was his three consecutive city championships as the coach of the boys senior volleyball team; a cumulative three year, 32 game unbeaten streak. A Silver Life Master with the American Contract Bridge League, Gunter’s passion for bridge took him to many a tournament and introduced him to many partners. A dedicated and loving father, Gunter shared his love of travel with his daughter Kate. Together they had many adventures. He will be dearly missed. Thank you to the staff at the St. Joseph’s Respiratory Therapy Group and to Dr. Biman for their care. Thanks also to Dr. Mymko for his help, especially in this past year. PITTSFIELD - Bernard C. Robillard, 72, of Sampson Parkway, died suddenly on Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center. He was born in Holyoke on July 25, 1932 to Albert E. and Yvonne T. Robillard. Following his 1950 graduation from the former St. Jerome High School in Holyoke, he enlisted in the US Air Force in September of 1952, serving as staff sergeant during the Korean War. He was discharged in September 1956, at which time he began his employment with General Electric in Syracuse, NY, eventually making his permanent home in Pittsfield in 1958. He was first employed in the G.E. ordinance department as an electrical technician, but retired in 1989 from the computer programming department after over 30 years with the company. He furthered his education while employed, receiving an Associate Degree in Computer Science from Berkshire Community College. In the mid-1960s he was elected to the Presidency of the NAACP Berkshire County Branch. He is believed to have been the first Caucasian to head the local branch, which was organized in 1918. He was also very active for MICA, how Habitat for Humanity, for many years in the Pittsfield area working to build homes for those in need. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a past member of its Holy Name Society. He married Margaret M. Bouyea on January 28, 1956 in Our Lady of Hope Church in Springfield. The couple would have celebrated 49 years of spirit and commitment this Friday. Bernie loved reading, cooking and listening to WAMC radio. His humor, compassion and curiosity for both the mundane and extraordinary moments in life are the legacy he leaves with his family and friends. Besides his wife, his survivors include a son, David B. Robillard of Lanesborough; two daughters, Lisa Spangler and Susan Trudeau, both of Pittsfield; a brother, Jean Robillard of Apalachan, NY; two sisters, Denise Sliwa of Chicopee and Evelyn Fournier of South Hadley; eight grandchildren and two great-grandsons. He was predeceased by a daughter, Donna M. Robillard Perkins, July 2, 1991 and his brother Marcelle Robillard. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at Devanny-Condron Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial, celebrated by Rev. James K. Joyce, at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. The burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Julie Monnette EUGENE, Ore. -- Julie Monnette, 80, died Jan. 21, 2005. A native of Philadelphia, Pa., she retired in 1987 after 15 years as a legal secretary for attorney Mike Inman. She served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and lived in Virginia Beach for 21 years. She graduated from Nutley High School in Nutley, N.J., and loved golf and computers. PROVIDENCE - Joseph L. Picard, 87, of Wareham, Mass., died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Dorothy E. (LeGay) Picard. Born in Berlin, N.H., the son of the late Louis and Yvonne (Bedard) Picard, he lived in the Hyde Park section of Boston for many years before moving to Wareham 30 years ago. Mr. Picard served in the Army during World War II as a private first class in the 14th Field Artillery Battalion, 2nd Armored Division. He had been a mason and a bricklayer. He was a member of the Massachusetts Bricklayers and Masons Union Local 3 since 1948. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and skiing. He was a member of the Wareham Lodge of Elks 1548, the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Kathryn Vachon, and her husband, Arthur, of Hull, Mass.; a stepdaughter, Barbara Horton of Cotuit, Mass.; six grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Stott, Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham. Burial will follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, Mass.

After progressive management positions with Griswold Engineering, and International Paper Co., Gerry started his own company, Sports Administration Inc., managing the affairs of Jean Beliveau and later branched out to include among his clientele Guy Lafleur, Rusty Staub, Gordie, Mark and Marty Howe, Nancy Greene, Ken Dryden, Jocelyne Bourassa, Howie Meeker and Don Cherry. Gerry proceeded to become Director of Marketing for CCM Canada and was involved in the Montreal Olympics and numerous successive ventures and most recently was a contact with the NHL regarding the labour impasse and in the process of publishing another book. A service to celebrate Gerry's life will take place at the George Darte Funeral Chapel (905-937-4444), 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines, Ontario on Thursday, January 27 at 4 p.m. In accordance to Gerry's wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke or the Canadian Diabetic Association.
