DESPRES - On December 20th, 2004 at age 57, Jeanean Marie Despres, my mom, our "grannie", our "sis", unexpectedly passed away and is now at the side of our Lord. In loving remembrance of Jeanean ("Jan" to all close), she was preceded in death by her father, Gerard J. "Bus" Despres; and her mother, Virginia P. Despres. Jan is proudly survived by her daughter, Dawn Despres; her grandchildren, Ashley and Donyae Despres; her sister, Dorothy "Dee" (Floyd) Tubergen; her brothers, Gerard G. "Jerry" (Marti) Despres and Randall "Randy" Despres. Also surviving are nephews and nieces, Kevin (Brenda) VanAller and children, Brandon and Heather; Gerard, David, and Paul Despres; Tracy (John) Rinal and children, Dylan, Bradley and Bailey; step-mother, Marie Despres of Pennsylvania; step-brothers, Michael and David Law; also including a host of family and friends. Leslie George Detiveaux, 71, a native and resident of Houma, died at 2:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005. Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today and from 11:30 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the church with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by one son, Michael Detiveaux of Houma; four daughters, Susie D. Breaux and husband, Andre, Ginger D. Borque and husband, Howard, Sherry D. Otis and husband, Dennis, of Houma, and Holly D. Cope and husband, SM Sgt. Joel, of Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.; six brothers, Alton Detiveaux, Reynold Detiveaux, A.J. Detiveaux, Allen Detiveaux, Charles Detiveaux of Houma and Donald Detiveaux of Knoxville, Tenn.; one stepbrother, Dale Hughes of Shreveport; six grandchildren, Shawn Detiveaux, Bryce Borque, Victoria Detiveaux, Hailey Detiveaux, Wesley Cope and Tanner Cope; one great-grandson, Alex Detiveaux; and special family friends, Cathi and Amos Gautreaux, Angela Cretini, Glenn, Becky, Patty Fanguy, Ronald and Rhonda Lenain. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Rhodes Detiveaux, his parents, George and Violet Chauvin Detiveaux, two brothers, Irving Detiveaux and Rufus Detiveaux; and one sister, Georgia D. Martin. He was a retired pumper for Mobil Oil Company and an U.S. Air Force veteran. He was Past Grand Knight of St. Bernadette Knights of Columbus, he loved to hunt and fish and especially loved his family and friends. He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. NEW BEDFORD -- Joseph C. Hebert, 83, of New Bedford died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at New Bedford Rehabilitation Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Dolora M. (Morin) Hebert; they were married more than 48 years. Born in Rogersville, New Brunswick, the son of the late Thomas and Florine (Bourgeois) Hebert, he lived in New Bedford most of his life. He was a communicant of St. Joseph-St. Therese Church. He formerly worked at Blue Ribbon Laundry; he retired from Purity Services. Mr. Hebert was a tech 5 in the Army, 3159th Signal Service Battalion, during World War II. He fought in Normandy and Northern France and received several medals and ribbons. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Freetown; he was a member of the St. Anthony Seniors. He enjoyed bowling and watching the Red Sox and Patriots. He was a caller at many bingo games. He loved his family. Survivors include his widow; three sons, Thomas P. Hebert, and his wife, Donna, of Fairhaven, Robert R. Hebert, and his wife, June, of Acushnet, and David J. Hebert, and his wife, Therese, of New Bedford; a daughter, Therese Kramer, and her husband, James, of Uxbridge; five grandchildren; a brother, Abel Hebert, and his wife, Cecile, of New Bedford; and a niece and nephew. His funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph-St. Therese Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd.

PITTSFIELD -- Pauline Agnes Pagerey, 88, of 41 McArthur St. died Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 2, 1916, daughter of Joseph and Anna Goodrich Hogue, she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. A homemaker, Mrs. Pagerey was employed at one time by GE. She was a communicant of St. Mark's Church. Her husband, Alfred N. Pagerey, whom she married in June 1936, died Nov. 4, 1976. She leaves three daughters, Jane Grower and Carol Robarge, both of Pittsfield, and Gail Stodulski of Leominster; a brother, Charles Hogue of Pittsfield; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Pauline Agnes Hogue Pagerey, who died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, will be Tuesday, Jan. 4, at 9:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 at St. Mark's Church by the Rev. Beauregard, Frances M. -- Saginaw Twp., Michigan. -- Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Saturday, January 1, 2005 at Covenant Medical Center Cooper. Age 77 years. The daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Simoncic) Miklosovic, Fran was born November 14, 1927 in Butler, Pennsylvania. She was married to Henry J. Beauregard on May 7, 1949. He survives her. Fran was employed at Seitner's as sales manager until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. Fran enjoyed baking, cooking and especially taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving besides her husband Henry are one son, three daughters and their spouses, Richard and Sonia Beauregard, Midland; Debra and Dr. James LaFleur, Saginaw Township; Kathy and David Keaner, Saginaw Township; Laurie and Michael Ciaramitaro, Saginaw Township; 11 grandchildren, Tara, Benjamin, Ryan (Alissa) Beauregard, Andrew, Nicole, Katie and Ludmila LaFleur, Thomas and Tyler Williamson, Adam Beauregard and Michael Ciaramitaro; four great-grandchildren, Renee, Chloe and Lillie Beauregard and Hunter Williamson; two brothers and four sisters, Irene and Robert Dowis, Mary Gagnon, Anna Bowerman, Elinor and John Rudy, Helen and Fred Adams, Frank and Becky Miklosovic, J. ALBANY NY -- Mary L. Sue Marion, 65, died suddenly while at work on Wednesday, December 22, 2004. Sue was a retired dispatcher for Conrail in Selkirk where she had worked for many years. She currently was working as a bus aide for the Bethlehem School District where she was much loved by her co-workers and the school children. Sue was an animal lover, especially cats, and was a friend to many needy animals throughout the City of Albany. She was energetic and young at heart, enjoyed walking, gardening and cooking for Paula and all her friends. She volunteered her time to many charitable organizations and will be greatly missed by the people she helped. Sue is survived by her son, Brian J. Marion; her daughter, Paula L. Marion; four sisters, Ellen Moore, Esther Clark and Barbara Greer and Shirley Reynolds; three brothers, James, Paul and Francis Sheets. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Evelyn R. Crotteau, 82, of Cloquet, went home in the arms of Jesus on Friday, Dec. 31, 2004 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. She was born Aug. 7, 1922 in Carlton to Albert and Mamie (Gravelle) White. Evelyn was a lifelong area resident and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church; the Wee-Care Sewers; and the Sr. Bible Study. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, making wedding cakes, and especially spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Raymond Crotteau; a special daughter-in-law, Carolyn Crotteau; two brothers, Stanley White and Donald White; and one sister, June Homstad. She is survived by three sons, Stanley (Sherry) Johnson of Culver, Ronald (Linda) Johnson of Cloquet and Earl Crotteau of Cloquet; one daughter, Sharyn (Louis) Hubbell of Cloquet; two sisters, Lois (Neil) Carter of Florence, Ore., and Alene (Rev. T.J.) Smith of Albany, Ore.; ten grandchildren, Geneva Johnson, Cassie Johnson, Rawn (Sandra Cassio) Johnson, Amy (Dan) Wieden, Travis (Adelle Curley) Crotteau, Tara Crotteau, Adam Crotteau, and Shannon (Chris) Jackson, Tammy (James) Psyck, and Michael (Trista) Hubbell; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. VERTEFEUILLE, Simone (Briere) -- Simone (Briere) Vertefeuille, 93, of Willimantic, widow of Benoit Vertefeuille, passed away, peacefully on Saturday, New Year's Eve, (December 31, 2004) in Douglas Manor in Windham. She was born Feb. 12,1911 in Lowell, MA the daughter of Eugene and Albina Briere. She was employed at the American Thread Co. and the Electro Motive Co. for many years before her retirement. Simone had volunteered over 6000 hours of dedicated service to the Windham Community Memorial Hospital. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, and a member of St. Mary's Guild and the Chaplin Seniors. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and in February, would have become a great, great grandmother. During her life she was an extremely talented seamstress and knitter. She enjoyed having breakfast out with her children and living independently, until her recent illness. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Her survivors include a daughter, Jeannette Herrick and husband, Richard Herrick, Jr. of Windham and Waterford, ME; a son, Albert B. Vertefeuille and wife, Judith (Bloch) of Lebanon. She also leaves a brother, Roland Briere of Florida; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Debbie and Bob Brackett of Griswold, Joni Herrick and Mark Greene of Manchester, NH, Dale and Alana Herrick, Mark and Susan Herrick, Matthew and Cindi Vertefeuille of Windham, Karin and Greg Carver of Columbia, Michael and Donna Vertefeuille of Storrs and Robin and Tony Provost of Falmouth, MA. Also surviving are 19 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Raymond, Henry and Homer and sisters, Doris, Antoinette, Beatrice, Yvonne and Alice. Thibedeau (Black) Norma Louise Thibedeau, of New Brighton, MN, died Thursday, December 30, 2004, at The Benedictine Health Center, New Brighton, MN. Norma was born July 4, 1913, at East Grand Forks, MN. She graduated from East Grand Forks Central High School and attended the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks. She worked in the family businesses, Black's Bakery and the Black's Sweet Shop, until 1941 when she married Clarence J. "Tib" Thibedeau. During World War II, they were stationed at Tarzana, California, where Tib worked in an aircraft factory building B-29's. When the war ended, Tib took a job with Lystad's Chemicals of Grand Forks, ND, and opened their Duluth territory. Norma and Tib, now a family of five, John (1942, Lynne, Fallbrook, CA), Thomas (1943, Susan, Mounds View, MN), Robert (1945, Susan, Fargo, ND) moved into the house that Norma would occupy for the next 53 years. William (1946, Denise, Nederland, CO) soon followed. Norma was one of the original founders of Birthright of Duluth Incorporated. She was a Gray Lady Red Cross volunteer, a volunteer at the Polinsky Medical Center Nursery, St. Mary's Hospital Pediatrics, and organized and started the Pediatric Resource Library at St. Mary's Hospital. She was president of the Holy Rosary Home and School (PTA) and the Cathedral High School Mother's Club. She was also president of the Catholic Diocesan Women's Club, Toastmistress Club, and was past Grand Counselor of United Commercial Travelers Auxiliary. Tib died in 1992, 28 days shy of their 52nd wedding anniversary. In 1999, Norma moved to New Brighton, MN for health reasons and to be closer to her family. Norma is survived by her four children, nine grandchildren, and two great- grandchildren. Norma's father, John Neal Black, died in 1919, her mother, Christina Magdalena (Miller) died in 1957. Norma also had four brothers, (John, Duke, William and Emmit) and four sisters (Gladys Black, Madeline Haga, Marjorie Sternitzke and Lila Common) who predeceased her. Huey Joseph Zeringue entered peacefully into eternal rest on December 24, 2004 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law in Des Allemands, LA. He is survived by his children: Jan Marie Zeringue, Danny Mark Zeringue and companion Brenda Robert; Lisa Zeringue Fontenot and husband Kieth Fontenot, Lori Anne Zeringue, and Valarie Ann Zeringue and companion Leslie Frank Walgamotte; grandchildren: Mandi Michelle Bourgeois; Simon Paul, Jeremiah James and Adam Michael Fontenot; Monica Avenew Zeringue; Amos Joseph and Bobbi Jo Cooke, and Becki Jo Zeringue, Nicholas Scott Blades and Matthew Allen Cummings: those like sons: Sandy Petit, Kenny Blades and Ricky Brown; and siblings: Beatrice Zeringue Brown and husband, Virgil; Elsie Zeringue Petit and husband, Archille Petit; Marc Zeringue and wife, Diane; Larry Zeringue; and sister-in-law, Beverly P. Zeringue. Also survived by a host: of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved friend and wife of many years, Leola Justin Robert Zeringue; parents Aristide Joseph Zeringue and Nellie May Dugas Zeringue; and siblings: Cyril J. Zeringue and wife, Velma: Thelma Zeringue, and Aristide J. Zeringue, Jr., at the age of 76, he was a lifetime resident of Ama, LA. Mr. Zeringue was a veteran of the United States Army, from 1950 to 1952, serving in the Korean War who previously served as a Merchant Marine. He was a carpenter by trade, until retirement, when he began farming. Mr. Zeringue supported his family's involvement in the community of St. Charles Parish in many ways and was heavily involved in the formation of the Ama Athletic Corporation. ROANOKE, VA— Beatrice (Bergeron) Hughes, 67, formerly of Sterling, Massachusetts died peacefully in her home on Dec. 28, 2004 in Roanoke, Virginia. Born October 7, 1937 in Orange, MA, she was the daughter of the late Ella St. Hilaire of Athol. She retired from Technographics, Inc. in Fitchburg as assistant to the CEO. She was devoted to her daughters, volunteering as a Lassie League coach, Girl Scouts leader, Sterling Recreation chaperone, Pop Warner cheerleading coach, and faithfully attended their recitals, concerts, gymnastic competitions, and plays. She leaves her daughters, Elisabeth Hughes of Leominster, Cynthia Randolph of Roanoke, VA, and Christine Woodrum of Roanoke, VA, and three grandsons, Jay, Elliot, and Emerson. She is also survived by her sisters and brother: Margorie Ralys of Athol, Edward Bergeron of Gardner, Alice Mayhew of Colorado, Anna Williams of Michigan, Michelle Rose Greget of California, and Doris Vautour of Quebec. A private memorial service was held in Roanoke, Virginia.

DOMINIC J. DEVOST -- BURLINGTON — Dominic J. Devost, 89, of Burlington died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, in the Vermont Respite House in Williston. He was born in Norton, Dec. 18, 1915, the son of the late Felix and Mary (Kehoe) Devost. He was predeceased by his wife Audrey on Oct. 23, 1980. He was also predeceased by sisters Alice, Jenny, Peggy; and brothers Simon, Norman, and Daniel. In 1940, Dominic came to Burlington, with then Father Tennien, to establish St. Mark Church, which became the parish for the New North End. As part of the Greatest Generation, Dominic served in the U.S. Army in World War II. Upon his return from the Army, he met and married Audrey Carr on Nov. 11, 1945. For over 40 years Dominic was employed by the University of Vermont. After 50 years of devoted service to St. Mark Church, Dominic was honored with the Papal Benemerenti Award. Dominic continued to serve St. Mark's, until illness prevented him from doing so. Dominic is survived by his six children and their spouses, Michael and Pam Devost of Rutland, David and Jenny Devost of White River Junction, Joyce and Terry McDonald of Coquitlam, British Columbia, Robert and Nancy Devost of Jericho, Miriam Wade of Colchester, and Elizabeth (Lil) and Ron Begins of Alaska; his 12 grandchildren, Shibevahna, Celeste, Audrey, David, Brian, Michelle, Carolyn, Erin, Jake, Jeremy, Paul, and Scott; a great-grandson, Ashton; his sister, Medora Matthews of New Hampshire; his brother, Morris Devost of Derby; and by numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, at 10 a.m. in St. Mark Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. BOURQUE, Dominic R. "Mickey" -- Dominic R. "Mickey" Bourque, retired Sergeant, Enfield Police Department and Connecticut Judicial Marshall, 58, of Enfield entered into Eternal Life on Friday, (December 31, 2004) at Rockville General Hospital. Son of the late William and Estelle (Gauthier) Bourque, he was born in Stafford and was a lifetime resident of the community. A 1966 graduate of Enfield High School, he was also a graduate of Holyoke Community College and attended STCC, Springfield. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Vietnam. Mickey began his service on the Enfield Police Department in 1971 and retired in 2001 with the rank of Sergeant in the Patrol Division. He was currently employed by the State of Connecticut as a Judicial Marshall. A member of the Blue Knights, Mickey was also an avid boater, car enthusiast, golfer and scuba diver. Mickey is survived by his dearest friend of 25 years, Della Confer of Somers; three brothers, William Bourque and his wife, Raymonde of Enfield, Richard Bourque and his wife, Maureen of Nashville, TN and Guy Bourque and his wife, Anna of West Springfield, MA; four sisters, Julia LaFlamme and her husband, Joseph of Enfield, Adella Nickerson and Shirley Hunt and Nancy Lee and her husband, Robert all of Enfield; there are also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Doris Robinson. CHICOPEE - Wilfred J. Lacas, Jr., 57, of Chicopee, formerly of West Springfield, died Thursday, December 30, 2004, at home. Born August 24, 1947, he was raised and schooled in West Springfield having lived there for most of his life before moving to Chicopee in 1999. He was the son of the late Wilfred J. and Eva (Harvey) Lacas, Sr. Wilfred was a graduate of West Springfield Senior High School, Class of 1966. A Navy veteran of the Vietnam War from 1967 - 1970 he served on the USS Dixie. He then served 19 years with the US Air Force 439th Reserves retiring as a Technical Sergeant in 1989. For 12 years Wilfred worked for the Town of West Springfield and then worked 18 years at the US Postal Bulk Mail Center in Springfield, retiring in 2002. He was a communicant of St. Louis de France Church, an active member of the men's Thursday night bowling league of Agawam, and a member of the American Legion, Post 420. He enjoyed attending the Springfield Falcons Hockey games and belonged to the teams Booster Club. He leaves his wife of 34 years, Donna L. (Plumador) Lacas; 2 daughters, Shelly M. Dansereau and her husband Brian, of Chicopee, and Melissa A. Therrien and her husband Joseph, of Agawam; his adopted daughter, Cynthia M. Veratti and her husband Vincent, of Three Rivers; a sister, Eileen Schmidt and her husband Ralph, of West Springfield; 2 sister-in-law, Katherine Lacas, of West Springfield and Mary Melcher, of Chicopee; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased in 2002 by his brother, Robert Lacas. LEOMINSTER -- Arthur D. Caisse, 77 years old, of 141 Hall Street, died Friday in HealthAlliance/Leominster Hospital after an illness.Mr. Caisse was born in Leominster on June 30, 1927, son of Dennis and Edith (Menard) Caisse and was a life-long resident. He graduated from Leominster High School in 1945, attended Springfield College and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He worked at Mead Corporation for 13 years, then became a Leominster Police Officer. After 33 years of service, he retired as a Detective Lieutenant. He was active in community sports including softball, baseball, basketball, and football. He was also an avid fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. Mr. Caisse is survived by his wife of 52 years Anna J. (Zinna) Caisse, a daughter Sandra L. Caisse of Fitchburg, a son Thomas A. Caisse of Centreville, VA , a granddaughter Ericka L. Kane of Newton, 2 sisters Irene Johnson of Virginia, Louise Fournier of Leominster, and a brother Gerald Caisse of Leominster, and several nieces and nephews.
