ROMMELL, MARJORIE A. -Marjorie Adele Rommell died in Saint John on August 7, 2004. Born Marjorie Hubley, May 2, 1921, in Halifax, N.S., daughter of the late Jean and Roy Hubley. Pre-deceased by her loving husband, Stuart Delong Rommell August 30, 1991. Survived by one sister, Audrey Mullenger of Halifax, one son, David, his wife Florence of Thunder Bay, Ont., granddaughters Sara and Rebecca, and great-grandson Brandon, all of Thunder Bay. Also survived by one daughter Jane, her husband Sydney Furrow of Houston, Texas grandson Brent, his wife Danielle of Orlando, Fla, grandson Scott, his wife Shannon of Boston, Mass., grandson Craig, granddaughter Brittany at home in Houston, several nieces and nephews in various parts of Canada; in-laws Evelyn of Orillia, Ont., and Don and Jean Furrow of Saint john. Marjorie was employed for many years in the office of Canadian Tire, acting as Office Manager for several of those years. She was a member of St. Luke's Anglican Church, Anglican Church Women, and Silver Threads Senior Citizen club. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Marjorie is remembered by family and friends for her courage, tenacity, and her joy for living. The family request any donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick.

DUMENCU, George In loving memory of Dumencu, George of Webbwood. Passed away at Espanola General Hospital, August 8, 2004 in his 91st year. Son of Dumitor and Raritia Dumencu predeceased. Brother of Valerie (wife Beatrice) both predeceased, Pete (predeceased) wife Lisa of Lively, Don (predeceased) wife Emeline of Blind River, Bill (wife Rita) of Sudbury, Zeta McLary (husband Bert predeceased) of Webbwood, Sylvia Barbeau (husband Rene predeceased) of Lively, and Eleana McMahon (husband Allan predeceased) of Algoma Mills. Will be sadly missed by nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. George was raised in Creighton, moved to Toronto until his retirement and then moved to Webbwood where he resided with his sister Zeta. No visitation by family request. BIEDERMAN, Conrad Wilfred In loving memory of Conrad Wilfred Biederman, 89 years, who passed away Monday, August 9, 2004 at the Extendicare Falconbridge. Born in Pembroke where he married Mildred in 1940. He worked in the Transportation Department at INCO Garson Mine for 28 years, retiring in 1975. Conrad was a dedicated and devoted member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, serving as a teacher and superintendant of the Sunday School and an Elder and Trustee on the church board. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling and skiing. The family wish to give special thanks to the staff and nurses on the third floor of Extendicare Falconbridge for their wonderful care and kindness. Beloved husband of Mildred (Sack) Biederman of Sudbury. Loving father of Gwen (husband Wally Dittburner) of Garson, Carole (husband Lorne Atkinson) of London and David (wife Gayle) of Lively. SORGENTE, Giovanni, Surrounded by prayer and the love of his family and friends, Giovanni has gone to be with his Lord on Monday, August 9, 2004. Beloved husband of Maria Vittoria (Costantini), loving step-father to Marilu (Pat) D'Amore, Pina (Chris ) Taraba, Anna (John) Sheridan. Dear Nonno to Sidney, Erica, Meaghan, Spencer, Joshua, Carson and Isabella. Fondly remembered by brothers-in-law Giancarlo (Lorna) and Roberto (Chris) Costantini and dear uncle to Andrea , Sara, Carlo, Dan, Leila and I rene. Born in Aquara, Salerno, Italy in 1927, Giovanni is survived by his sister Filomeno of Italy and his brother Emilio of England and their families. Never to be forgotten by many close friends, Giovanni touched the lives of all those that he met. His friendliness, warmth and good nature will be missed. With love and memories in our hearts we take comfort in knowing he will continue to watch over us. Very proud of his Italian heritage, Giovanni was an active member in the community where he l ived. He initiated the Heritage Language Program for school-aged children as well as being instrumental in bringing to the community a drop-in centre for seniors. Giovanni for many years was the musical director for the Zecchino D'oro Children's Choi r in Hamilton. His love for sharing the music continued in his later years as an active member of the Club Roma Choir. the family is extremely grateful for the compassionate care Giovanni received from the nursing staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital, especially ICU and the palliative Care Units. LUCYSHYN, John. Passed away at the "Centre Hospitalier de Lachine" on July 31, 2004. He was predeceased by his son Greg. WORRALL, DOUGLAS FRANK It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Douglas Frank Worrall on August 8, 2004 in Surrie, BC. Faithful husband and wonderful father, brother, son and great friend. Left behind to mourn his passing are wife Carla (Lyons); his parents Frank and Gertrude (MacKay) Worrall; children, Ricky and granddaughter Elyse, Kelly (Piers) and husband Peter and grandsons Zach and Shain, Alexander (Sandy), April and grandchildren Denica and Thomas; brother Ron and wife Charlene; sister Marion Henderson of Medicine Hat, AB; aunt Alma and husband Ernie Farrer; brother-in-law Earl Lyons; aunt Dorothy Cameron; cousins Dale Prosser and Paul Cameron (with whom he spent the last week of his life having a wonderful time with his family). Many nieces and nephews. Doug has long been an active member of the Fredericton Northside Community. For years he coached little league Baseball, Minor Hockey and has been a longtime member of the YMCA and the Nashwaaksis Y's Men's Club. He and Carla have enjoyed square dancing, walking and biking together. Doug is probably best known as the founder of the Northside business, Doug Worralls Furniture and Appliances, operating for 32 years. His zest and zeal for enjoying time with family and friends will always be remembered. DYKO, Eugenia (nee ZagrodaDuBOIS) In loving memory of Eugenia (nee Zagroda) Dyko who passed away at the age of 80 on Sunday, August 8, 2004, surrounded by her loving family, at the Sudbury Regional Hospital-Memorial Site. Eugenia was born on October 29, 1923 in Nastaow, Tarnopol, Poland. She emigrated to Canada in 1950, living in Winnipeg for a short time, then settling in Sudbury where she had resided since. Most recently Eugenia was a resident of Sunnyside Neighbourhood at St. Joseph Villa. Eugenia worked for Taylor-Atlas Maintenance and Consolidated Maintenance for many years, retiring in 1978. She enjoyed cooking, especially pierogi and cabbage rolls. Her family and friends will treasure her crocheted and knitted creations. Eugenia was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who took great pride in her family, especially the accomplishments of her grandchildren, for whom she would move heaven and earth. Elle était membre de S.E.R.F. et a reçu le Prix Mérite S.E.R.F. en 1988. Elle était membre de la Légion de Marie, les dames de Sainte-Anne et du Club de l’âge d’or de Grande-Digue. Dumont Regional Hospital, Moncton. Born in Grande-Digue, July 9, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Willie Poirier and the late Annie LeBlanc. GAMMON, DONALD BYRON Donald died on August 7, 2004 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton. He was 79. Son of William Gammon and Alfretta (Ronalds) of Bathurst, he was born December 12, 1924 in Bathurst where he graduated from high school with honors in 1942. Already a poet and scholar, Donald received a 4-year Beaverbrook scholarship for studies at the University of New Brunswick including the overseas Beaverbrook to London, England. An active student, UNBers of the 40's will remember Donald as the first editor of THE FIDDLEHEAD -Canada's longest existing poetry magazine. He was also editor of the UNB newspaper, THE BRUNSWICKAN. His flaming red hair and searing wit were his hallmarks. After graduating with an M.A. in English he married Frances Allison Firth of Campbellton, also a UNB M.A. grad, in 1951. The newlyweds attended Library school together in Toronto. Don then received a position at the Legislative Library, Fredericton, before switching to be the head librarian for Agriculture Canada at the Fredericton Research Station where he worked until his retirement. Predeceased by his brother Gordon of Bathurst, Donald is survived by his brother Harold, also of Bathurst, his 4 children: Geoffrey of Fredericton, Peter of St. John's, Newfoundland, Jennifer Douglas of Sardis, B.C. and Carolyn Gammon of Berlin, Germany; and by 5 grandchildren; Krista, Scott and Shauna Gammon of St. John's, Eric Douglas of Sardis and Noel Gammon Oguntoye of Berlin. A memorial will be held on Saturday, August 28th, 2004 from 2-4 PM at the Alumni Memorial Building (13 Bailey Drive UNB campus). If you wish to attend please respond by contacting the family. Félice Gauthier 1909-2004 SHEDIAC, NB - Félice Gauthier, 94, wife of the late Emile Gauthier, of Greenwood Rd., Shediac passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at her residence. Born in Dieppe, December 19, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Harry Thibodeau and the late Zélica Belliveau. She is survived by her adopted son, Michel Gauthier (Tina) of Toronto, ON.; a sister, Lorraine Lazaro of Moncton; three grandchildren, Marcel, André, Nadine and her caregiver and friend Lyne Ouellet. Besides her husband, Emile (1964), she was also predeceased by three sisters, Andréa, Dorothé, Marguerite and by a nephew Bernard. WOOD-MCKAY, MARY LOUISE Mary Louise (McCrea) Wood-McKay died unexpectedly on July 17, 2004 at her home in Port Hope, Ontario. She was born in Fredericton, grew up in Stanley and was the daughter of Everett and Louise (Boulter) McCrea. Mary Lou attended Stanley High School, Netherwood School in Rothesay and graduated from Fredericton Business College. She is survived by her common-law husband, Brian McKay, her eight children and her brother, Donald McCrea (Lucille). She also leaves a dear person in her life, Brian's mother, Helen McKay, and Brian's brothers David, Lawrence, Trevor and sister Margaret. Mary Lou had many friends in Port Hope where she had resided for nearly twenty years. A memorial service was held there on July 22, 2004. A committal service will be held at Fredericton Rural Cemetery Extension, located on Woodstock Road, directly across from Golf Club Road, on Friday, August 13 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. GREEN, MERTON LLOYD - Merton Lloyd Green, 42, of Ingalls Head, Grand Manan, NB, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday afternoon, August 9th, 2004. Born at North Head, he was the son of Gwendolyn and the late Laurence Green of Grand Harbour, NB. Merton was a fisherman and worked in the salmon farming, lobster fishing and was also a dulser. He enjoyed fishing and was a wonderful and loving father and leaves to mourn besides his mother, his wife Victoria (Vicky) at home, three sons Christopher Tate, Jeffrey, Matthew Green at home. One sister Janene Green, one brother Juston Green of Grand Harbour, NB, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Laurence (2003) and one sister, Lorena.
