Cardinal, Germaine SOEUR GERMAINE CARDINAL (Thérèse du Crucifix) née le 11 mai 1911 à Cumberland, Ont., est décédée à l'hôpital Montfort le 23 juin 2004, à l'âge de 93 ans. Entrée chez les Soeurs du Sacré-Coeur de Jésus d'Ottawa le 8 septembre 1930, elle fit sa profession religieuse le 26 juillet 1932. Outre sa famille religieuse, elle laisse dans le deuil Déa (feu Aurore Corneau), Mme Marie-Jeanne Lalonde (feu Tiburce), Georges (Juliette Valiquette) ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. DIONNE, Jacqueline Anne On Monday, June 21, 2004, Jacqueline Anne Dionne of Edmonton, formerly of Sarnia, ON, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 12 years. Jacqueline will always be loved and never forgotten by her Papa and Maman, Maurice and Monique; her twin brother, Denis; her sister, Danielle; brother, Justin; maternal grand-mother, Lucienne (Jean) Messier; paternal grandfather, Sarto Dionne; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Predeceased by maternal grandfather, Lucien Gagnon and paternal grandmother, Lorraine Dionne. Jacqueline was a vibrant, young girl who was happiest when she was with "people". She was industrious being a helper when work needed to be done. Jacqueline loved to say "whatever" with a smile and her French accent. She loved crafts of any type, as well as animals She was a true girl, loving to dress up. Jacqueline will be missed by all. The family is extremely grateful for the outpouring generosity of the Paramedics, Dr. Eddie Chang; the unbelievable assistance from the neighbours and the Stollery Children's Hospital staff who made this tragedy more bearable. CARON, Josette Judith, On Father's Day, June 20, 2004, Josette Judith Caron passed away in the comfort of her home. She joins her father, Lionel Caron, to watch over those left behind, namely, her loving mother, Noella, her two brothers, Yvon and Pi erre, and her four children whom she loved more than anything in the world, Summer-Lee, Brieanna, Christopher and MacKenzie. She will be greatly missed by not only her family but also by those with whom she worked in the field of health and long-term care. Josette dedicated her life to caring for others. She strived to ensure that the rights of the elderly were always protected whilst maintaining and improving their standard of living. Né à Balmoral le 9 avril 1932, il était fils de feu Wilfred Pelletier (1967) et de feu Adeline Laliberté (1989). KOVOSI, Lillian Nettie Passed away peacefully after a short illness on June 22, 2004. Age 85 years. Beloved wife of the late Gregory George Kovosi (August 12, 1977). Will always be remembered by her children Shirley and husband Brian Pape of Toronto, Kenneth and wife Sandra of Windsor, Paul and wife Marilyn of Tecumseh, Phillip and wife Iryna of Tecumseh. Eight grandchildren. Three great grandchildren. Lillian was born the daughter of the late Stephen and Polly Smoley of Wakaw, SK on July 7, 1918. Dear sister of Sophie Zaleski of Edmonton. Predeceased by sisters Justina Wasilyw (Whitmore Lake, MI), Mary Lendzyk (Prince Albert, SK) Helen Suick (Moose Jaw, SK) Anne Madiera-Horovenko (Windsor) and brothers Peter Smoley (Saskatoon) and Paul Smoley (Edmonton). Lillian located to the Windsor area in 1939 and made her contributions to Canada's war effort at Bendix Eclipse of Canada where she met her lifetime partner Gregory George Kovosi. Following their marriage on April 11, 1942, they began a journey that would create countless memories and an enduring spirit for all to cherish. Mother, we thank you for your never ending love and devotion. We thank you for the life that you so unselfishly provided for us. We thank you for creating a path in life for us to follow. Take your place in God's arms that you so deserve with our dear father and your husband and partner Gregory. We will never forget you. God bless you both. GLADUE, Garry Joseph On June 22, 2004, Garry Gladue of Edmonton, passed away suddenly at home at the age of 51. BOURQUE, Faye It is with profound sadness that the family of Faye Bourque announces her passing on June 22, 2004 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. An extraordinary woman, Faye was loved so much by all. Predeceased by her husband Paul, and treasured daughter Ninon, Faye leaves behind her adored sons Paul and Michael, of whom she was immensely proud. STEPHENS, Mabel, Suddenly, surrounded by her loving family at Desert Spring Hospital, Las Vegas, Nevada on Monday, June 21, 2004 at the age of 74. Beloved wife of 53 years to Ron Stephens. Loving mother of Andy (Robin) Stephens, Barb Daly and Paula Stephens. Nana will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by Sean Daly and Robert Stephens. Dear sister of Sydney (Betty) Hough, Audrey (Ernie) Jukes, George and Barb Hough and Doreen Hough. Predeceased by sister Marion and brother Ronald. Mabel worked with the Thorold Cancer Society for over 25 years, she was a service to patient chai rman, involved with fund raising for the Daffodil Tea, a volunteer for Meals On Wheels, a member and past president of Niagara Heritage Quilters Guild and a founding member of the Monday Morning Quilters Group. Mabel was also a lifetime active member of St. John's Anglican Church, Thorold, a Sunday school teacher, a choir member and was involved in the fund rasing bazaars for the church. Né le 18 mars 1945 à Dalhousie, il était fils de feu John LeClair et de feu Marie LeClair. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Gilberte LeClair (née Comeau) de Balmoral; une fille, Lyne (Stéphane St-Coeur) de Tracadie-Sheila; un fils, Luc (Danika Plourde) de Balmoral; son beau-père, Peter Comeau de Val-Comeau; deux soeurs: Lucie Anne (Donald Lévesque) de Moncton et Léona LeClair de Montréal; cinq frères: Roger (Diane Power) de Moncton, Harvey (Raymonde Chouinard) de Balmoral, Yvon (Maria Go-Tz) d’Allemagne, père Daniel de Grande-Anse et Martial (Camilla Thibodeau) de Rivière-Verte; deux petits-enfants: Jennifer LeClair et Ariane St-Coeur; sa filleule, Lison Comeau; son filleul, Kevin LeClair, ainsi que plusieurs belles-soeurs, beaux-frères, neveux et nièces. GRAY, Catherine Elizabeth (nee Neilson) September 23, 1904 - June 22, 2004 Peacefully at Nepean on Tuesday, June 22, 2004 age 99 years. Catherine Elizabeth Gray, formerly of Lyn and Brockville. Beloved wife of the late Talmage Ross Gray. Dear mother of Elizabeth Wesely of Brockville and Jean Kerr and her husband Douglass of Nepean. Grandmother of Andrew Wesely of San Francisco, CA, Jane Wesely of Rochester, NY, Donald Kerr of Nepean and Catherine Kerr of Ottawa. Survived by several nieces and nephews, and predeceased by her brothers Donald and James Neilson. Over the decades, Catherine Gray supported a variety of groups and organizations, including churches, school board, hospital auxiliaries, Meals-on-Wheels, the Brockville Antique Show, youth camp programs, the Brownies, the Brockville Concert Association and the Historical Society. For forty years she volunteered with the Brockville General Hospital Women's Auxiliary, serving on the board and in various capacities at the hospital. In honour of her volunteer work, and as a tribute to the work of her late husband, the Brockville Rotarians made her a Paul Harris Fellow. On July 1, 1997, as a result of the nomination from the B.G.H. Auxiliary, Governor General Romeo LeBlanc presented her with the Governor General's Caring Canadian Award. Later that day, she was presented to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. Her lifetime of volunteering has been an inspiration to others, and has encouraged them to become involved with volunteer programs.
