CONDON, Sister Isobel -Entered into her eternal rest in Peterborough, On, on April 30, 2004 in the 62nd year of her religious life. She was the daughter of the late John P. Condon and his wife Johanna McCann of Douro. Along with the members of her religious community, she leaves to mourn her brothers Patrick (Lena) and Emmett (Kaye) of Peterborough and Kevin (Cathy) of Calgary and her sisters Mary Shaughnessy (William), Helen Maloney (Harold) and Rose Steenburgh (Harold) of Peterborough and Loretta McCartney (Gordon) of Port Hope, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Jack (Lorraine) and her sister Carmelita (Mrs. Joseph Driscoll), Priscilla (Mrs. Donald Laton) and Lillian. Sister Isobel received her elementary and secondary education in Peterborough and Lakefield. During her many years in community, Sister Isobel served as Sacristan in Peterborough at St. Peter's Cathedral, the House of Providence and Mount St. Joseph and in Ottawa at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. She also served in dietery in Lindsay and Clandonald, Alberta and did parish work in Vancouver, British Columbia. After her retirement she worked on the switchboard at Mount St. Joseph until she was well into her eighties. Visitation will be held at Mount St. Joseph, Monaghan Road, on Monday, May 3 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of The Recurrection will be celebrated at Mount St. Joseph on Tuesday, May 4th, 2004 at 1 p.m. Followed by interment at St. Peter's Cemetery. Parkinson (Grenier), Christine Lauri Aug. 27, 1954 - Apr. 15, 2004 Passed away in North Vancouver, BC at the age of 49, with her family by her side. Beloved wife of Gerry, Mother of Brett, Stepmother of Geremy (Sandra), Grandmother of Eric and Madeline. Daughter of Laurier & Sonja Grenier. Most beloved sister of Landa, Joey, Lise (Lance), Anita (Ron), Jamie (Charlene) and Gary. Niece of Anita (whom Chris had that special spot in her heart), Valma (Denis) and numerous aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Christine will be sadly missed by all. Christine grew up in Port Arthur, where she attended Corpus Christi School, PACI and Confederation College where she studied Travel and Tourism. This led to her career working at Air New Zealand for 18 enjoyable years. Christine, the eldest of seven children, spent her summers at camp surrounded by family, friends and adventure. Swimming, waterskiing, fishing, hunting, ski-dooing, berry picking, and big time suntanning were all a part of her activities. At the age of eighteen Christine left for an adventure of her own. Heading west with her little brother Joe and friends in the Austin mini her dad had fixed up for her was the beginning of a new life for her. She then moved to Vancouver where she met her future husband Gerry. During their 28 years together Christine and Gerry shared many of life’s wonders, the most wonderful being their son Brett. Brett was the sun, the moon, and the stars to Christine. She took great pride in everything he did. Christine was an avid sports mom, a PTA member and a volunteer at Brett’s school. She was extremely proud of Brett’s talent of playing clarinet. His passion for music was akin to her own passion for gardening, home decor and fashion. Everything Christine touched flourished with her love. Though the distance was great, Christine was very close to her family in Thunder Bay and missed everyone dearly. Daily calls to her mom were a ritual that added a sparkle to her mother’s day. Christine leaves behind many wonderful family, friends and memories. She will be sadly missed for her compassionate ways, her ability to listen, her humour and her kindness. She was a tiny girl with a big heart. As her dear friend Kelly said, “Christine was a woman of grace and elegance”. God bless you Christine, you were always our angel, and you remain so, only now you are our angel in the heavens. LACARTE, Richard "Dick" In loving memory of Richard "Dick" Lacarte, 60 years, who passed away Saturday morning, May 1, 2004 at his house. Sadly missed by his children; Rick (wife Sheryl) of Moosejaw, Stephen (wife Sue) of Lindsay, Lianne (husband Damon Ludlam) of Edmonton and their mother Madeleine of Edmonton. Partner of Hazel French of Coniston. Dear grandfather of Shanise, Cody and Stephanie. Dear son of Eugene and Yvette Lacarte both predeceased. Born in Sudbury, he was a Master Corporal with the Canadian Army, serving 20 years, retiring in 1982. Dick was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Deep River Branch and the Coniston Seniors Choir. He was very talented and gifted as a musician. Dick brought music and happiness to the world, especially for his friends at the Colonial Inn. ANGELONE, Silvestro, At the St. Catharines General Hospital, on Friday, April 30, 2004 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Laura. Predeceased by his first wife Filomena (November 20, 1989). Loving father of Angelo "Len" (Anne) Angelone and Dr. Anth ony "Tony" (Catherine) Angelone. Born in Egmont Bay, PEI, he was a son of the late Elizée and Theodozie (Richard) Arsenault. A life long fisherman, he was a mechanic. He was a member of St. Timothée Roman Catholic Church and the Club d'Age d'Or de Shemogue. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Marie-Médiatrice de Le Goulet, le mardi 4 mai, à 16h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial. Heures de visites: le lundi 3 mai, de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h et le mardi 4 mai, de 13h30 jusqu’au départ pour les funérailles. BOUDREAU, Darren Joseph - 38, Upper Tantallon, died April 30, 2004, in the VG Site, QEII after a courageous three and a half year battle with cancer, surrounded by his family and friends. Born in Sarnia, Ont. and raised in River Bourgeois, he was a son of Whitney and Gloria (Fougere) Boudreau. Besides his parents he is survived by his wife, Brenda (Flynn); son, Jacob; daughter, Grace; brother, Perry (Mary); nephews, Sam and Ben; nieces, Carley and Alex; numerous close aunts, uncles and cousins. He graduated from St. Mary's University in May 1989 with a B.Comm. He was previously employed by the N.S. Rehab and the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Most recently, Darren worked for Aliant Inc. in the finance department. He loved his job as well as the people he worked with. Darren was a sports enthusiast, avid reader and enjoyed music. He had a great love of children. He was most happy surrounded by his family and friends. He loved being the centre of attention, and was best known for his sarcasm and wit. He was an all round amazing person and will be sadly missed. Cremation has taken place. No flowers by request. A celebration of Darren's life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. A reception will follow in the funeral home lounge. A celebration of Darren's life for family and friends in Cape Breton will take place 1 p.m. Wednesday in Tara Lynn Community Centre, River Bourgeois. TURCOTTE, Philip Alfred (1944 - 2004) - Passed away suddenly at the St. Joseph's Health Centre, in Sudbury, on Saturday, May 1, 2004. Lovingly remembered by his wife Faye. Sadly missed by his sons Stacy (Heather), Corey, by daughters Terri Connely (Derek) all of Michigan, Amanda Turcotte (Pat), Samantha Turcotte of North Bay and grandchildren Amanda, Mitchell and Grace. Survived by his mother Ellen Turcotte. Predeceased by his daughter Christina Ann Turcotte and by his father Philip Charles Turcotte. Dearly loved son-in-law of Herman and Wilma Jones of Restoule. Remembered by his brother Irvine Turcotte, sisters Deanna Ranger (Rick) of Powassan and Doreen Quirt (Mike) of Orillia and by many other family and friends. Philip drove truck for himself and others over the past 44 years, and took pride in a job well done. He built two homes with his family at his side, every step of the way. He was truly admired by many. Philip believed in giving back to others and his last act was to be an Organ Donor. At Phil's request, a private visitation was held at the Martyn Funeral Home. DAVIS, George F.S. Retired Professional Engineer (Civil) Veteran WWII (Winnipeg Grenadiers) Peacefully, at the Perley-Rideau Veterans' Health Centre, on Friday, April 30, 2004 in his 84th year. Survived by his wife and best friend of 54 years, Eileen Davis (nee Macartney), his son Dr. Glen Davis (Sharon), Australia, his daughter Janice Davis, Ottawa, and two grandchildren Ben and Scott, Australia. He is also survived by one sister and two brothers. After graduating with his B.Sc. from the University of Alberta, George spent many years as consultant to building projects across Canada with Hudson Bay Companies, then worked as a senior Engineer with the Federal Government at D.P.W. He was active in engineering activities such as former president of University of Alberta Alumni in Ottawa and Councillor with the APEO. He volunteered as a track and field timer, a scout leader and was an avid golfer and curler as a member of the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club. As his memory faltered in his last years with Alzheimer's disease, he was grateful for support from the Redwoods Retirement Home and St. Patrick's Day Away. A special thank you to the amazing staff in Gatineau 1 North at the Perley-Rideau. According to George's wishes, there will be no visitation.
