Savoie: John Edward Chase 1993 - 2004 Our whole community is sharing in the tragic loss of our beautiful boy Chase. He was born in Red Deer and later came to reside in Drumheller. He attended Greentree school where he had many friends. With boundless energy he embarked on many adventures. Chase enjoyed riding his bike, fixing and building things, playing video games, fishing, camping, cooking and spending time with his friends. Chase was a caring and generous boy with a fantastic sense of humour. He had a charm that touched everyone s heart and a smile that will never be forgotten. He was also known as My Guy, Bud, Buddy, Fritz, Munchkin, Chay-Chay and Chaser. He will be greatly missed by his loving parents Adam Savoie and Gale Kelly; his siblings Chanteesa (Sis) and Kaizer (Little Bud); grandparents Pat Savoie, Bob Savoie, Shirley and Gunther Brau; Great Grandma Ivy Yakel; Great Grandpa Carson Kelly (Donna); as well as his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Outre son épouse, il laisse dans le deuil 1 fils Michel, ses frères et sœurs; Hector (feu Jacqueline Latourelle) de Gracefield, Alexandre (feu Jeanne-D’Arc Morin) de Maniwaki, Rolland de Maniwaki, Oscar de Maniwaki, Jacqueline (feu Ovila Robillard) d’Ottawa, 1 belle-sœur Aldéa Lamoureux (feu Fernand Carrière) de Gatineau, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces, prédécédé par 13 frères et soeurs. La direction des funérailles a été confiée à la MAISON FUNÉRAIRE McCONNERY, 206, rue Cartier, Maniwaki. Selon les dernières volontés du défunt, il n’y a pas eut visite au salon. Le service religieux eût lieu en présences des cendres le mercredi 14 avril 2004 à 11 heures en l’église St-Raphaël de Messines, suivi de l’inhumation au cimetière paroissial. Des dons à la Fondation des maladies du cœur du Québec seraient appréciés.

PARNELL, Joan (nee Ward). In her seventy-third year of a rich and loving life, passed away on April 27, 2004, Joan Ward Parnell. She leaves to mourn with precious memories, loving husband of forty-five years, Francis, and devoted children Janice (John), Darlene (Colin) and Frank. She will be profoundly missed by grandchildren Chad, Matthew, Chase, Andrew and Evelyn, all of whom loved their Nana with endless joy - a love she returned a hundredfold each and every day of their young lives. She will be sadly missed and deeply cherished by brother Garth (Leila), sisters Viola (Ted), Regina and Donalda, sister-in-law Jackie and a host of close friends. HOWARD, Jeffrey "Jeff" Passed away at the Ottawa General Hospital on Monday, April 26, 2004 at the age of 39. Son of Frederick and Barbara (Davis) Howard. Besides his parents, he is survived by his daughter Bailey; 2 brothers, Jim (Natalie) and Jonathan (Sally). Uncle to Jeryka and Jacksyn. He also leaves behind his loving godmother Betty Lusk, his friend Penny, many uncles, aunts and cousins. LANDRY, Raymond "Ray" (Former Mayor, Municipality of French River) The family announces his death in Sudbury, Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at the age of 60 years. Son of Mathias and of Jeannette (née Lambert) Landry of Alban. Beloved husband of Marilyn Landry (née Evans) of Alban. Loving father of Danny Landry and Angela Landry (John) both of Fredericton, N.B., Lisa Lovely (Damian) of Fort Fairfield Main, Amanda Wickham (Johnnie) of Mississauga and David Bordowitz of Bracebridge. Dear brother of Lucille McFarlane (Jack), Richard Landry (Karen) and Robert Landry "Bobby" (Lewise) all of Garson, Ron Landry (Claire) of Sudbury, Réjean Landry (Connie) of Calgary and Linda Lacombe (Stan) and Donald Landry (Mary-Lou) both of Alban. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his granddaughter Amanda. Mr. Landry retired from the Canadian Armed Forces, after 37 years of service. He served in Germany as well in Cypress, Egypt, Israel and various military bases across Canada. Upon retirement, he was Chief Warrant Officer while serving with the Irish Regiment in Sudbury. Ray Landry returned to the French River area in 1986. He owned and operated Landry Bus Lines for 10 years. In the year 2000, he was elected Councillor for Ward I in Alban and became Mayor of the Municipality of French River later that year. During his tenure as Mayor, Ray insisted upon open communication with all his constituents and began public consultations on important issues through town hall meetings. His illness forced him to retire from active politics before the 2003 elections. Ray Landry will lovingly be remembered as a courageous person who battled against all odds and regularly won because of his "military mind". Special thanks to Dr. Lopez, Dr. Knight, Dr. De Blacam as well as the M.S.C.C.A.C. nurses and staff and to the Cancer Clinic, Sudbury Regional Hospital- Laurentian Site. The family will receive friends in the Alban Community Centre, Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, May 1, 2004 at 11 a.m. in Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Church, Alban. LIISA ERICKSON 1912 - 2004 The family announce with sorrow the death of Liisa Erickson at Extendicare Nursing Home in Schumacher on Monday April 26th, 2004. She was predeceased by her husband, George Erickson (1975) and her partner Elias Punkari (1992). She is the loving mother of Sylvia Erickson of Toronto. Also predeceased are her brothers in Finland, Eemi, Eino, Arturi, Aate and Yurjo Tervakoski and in Canada, her sisters Mrs. Hanna Makinen and Mrs. Maija Olkkonen, as well as her brother Uno Tervakoski. She is survived by several nieces and nephews in Finland and in Canada. Liisa Erickson was a pioneer of the Porcupine Camp coming here from Finland in 1937. She lived courageously and with compassion for others. She loved Canada and often commented on the friendliness of the people of the Porcupine. She enjoyed her time at the cottage in Barber's Bay surrounded by family and friends. She liked cooking, especially the traditional Finnish recipes. She was accomplished in embroidery, knitting and crocheting. Remembrances in her name to Kulta Koti will be graciously received through the funeral home. A Funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM with Rev. Elina Horvath officiating accompanied by organist Lempi Lyons. Interment to follow in Tisdale Cemetery beside her beloved husband.

Larocque, Marie-Anne LA FAMILLE LAROCQUE a le regret de vous annoncer le décès de MADAME MARIE-ANNE LAROCQUE née Morin de Val-des-Bois, décédée le lundi 26 avril 2004 à l'âge de 88 ans et 2 mois, des suites d'une mauvaise chute. Elle était la fille de feu Pierre Morin et de feu Arthémise Thibeault, l'épouse de feu Onès Larocque décédé en 1994 après 55 ans de vie commune. Elle est partie après avoir fait ses adieux à chacun des ses enfants et reçu l'onction des malades en toute lucidité, tendresse et acceptation de la volonté divine. Au cours d'une belle, généreuse et longue vie, vécue tout entière dans son cher village de Val-des-Bois, elle s'était attaché l'estime et l'amitié de multiples personnes. Elle laisse plus particulièrement pour la pleurer et conserver pieusement sa mémoire ses 5 fils: Gaétan (Louise Durocher) de Buckingham, Hubert de Hull, Ronald (Denise St-Jean) de Boisbriand, Florent (Carole Désormeaux) de Ste-Thérèse-de-Blainville et Denis (Martine Nantel) de Gatineau; 6 petits-enfants bien-aimés: Martin, Bruno, Daniel (Annick), Chantal, Nathalie (Alexandre) et Sylvie, ainsi que la mère de ces deux dernières, Thérèse Legault. Elle laisse également deux soeurs: Jeanne (feu Victor Vallière) de Buckingham et Rollande de Vancouver; 1 frère, Pierre (feu Raymonde Perras) de Val-des-Bois. L'ont prédécédée: une soeur, Laurette (1968); deux frères: Rolland (1996) (Irène Thibeaudeault) et Aurèle (1996) (Jeanne-D'Arc Matte). Elle laisse 1 belle-soeur, Laurette (feu Curtis Larocque); 2 amis: Francine Forcier et Pierre Bourret qui l'ont assistée dans ses derniers jours. La famille remercie le personnel des hôpitaux de Buckingham, Gatineau et Hull, infirmières et préposés, qui l'ont soignée et soulagée dans ses douleurs. De façon plus spéciale, le Dr Jean-Benoit Bessette de Gatineau, le Dr Ngoc Chau Trinh de Hull, pour leur humanité et leur compétence et aux aumônier qui lui ont apporté les secours de l'Église, MM. les abbés Donat Mulumba Kolala et Fidèle Nyaminani. À sa demande, il n'y aura de visites au salon, cependant la famille invite parents et amis à se joindre à elle le vendredi 30 avril 2004 à 14h30 en l'église Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde, Val-des-Bois pour une messe en présence des cendres suivie de l'inhumation au cimetière du même endroit.
