COOLING, Phyllis Doreen (nee Christie). Passed away in Kelowna, BC at the age of seventy-nine on March 29, 2004. Formerly of Tumbler Ridge, BC, Thetford Mines, PQ and Lower Ireland, PQ. Predeceased by husband Bob. Survived by three children, Sue (Marcus) Appelt of Ottawa, Kathy (Bob) Van Driel of Oakville, Bill (Laurie) Cooling of Fort St. John and five grandchildren; Bill, Erica, Michael Van Driel and Haley, Hillary Cooling. "Mum" and "Gran" will be warmly remembered. Sister of Irene McCammon, Marion (Andy) Roy, Bill (Marilyn) Christie and Ward (Noreen Carter) Christie. Clarke Nursing Home and long time resident of Lampman Crescent) Peacefully in hospital, surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday March 31, 2004 in her 92nd year. Kathleen Pooke predeceased by her husband Walter Norris and brothers Joseph W. and Michael C. Pooke. Dear aunt of Walter and Anne (Corky) Petrash of Hamilton, Ontario, Natalie and Dr. Andrew Michalchuk of Brantford Ontario and Catherine Parsons and her husband Richard of Ottawa. Her contagious smile and generosity will be dearly missed by her godchildren and many friends and neighbours. Kathleen was a 39 year employee of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, a founding member and three time president of the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League of Canada, Ottawa Branch. She was an active member of the Ottawa Ukrainian community and volunteered in many organizations. Papgen "Alex" Alexanian ---- May 10, 1918 - March 18, 2004 ---- With great sorrow we announce the passing of our deeply loved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Papgen Alexanian, who passed away at the Concordia Hospital, with his family by his side, at the age of 85 years. He will be greatly missed by his wife Pastora (Turing); daughter Gisela; granddaughter Debbie Joy (Randy); grandson Douglas John; great-grandchildren, Kristyn Elizabeth and Rickey John; Pastora’s family; his one brother Samson and many nieces and nephews who reside in Armenia. Papgen was predeceased by his brothers, Samuel and Yerem and his sister Lucy. Papgen spent his early years in Armenia before moving to Germany. He worked as a cook in the American Army based in Germany where he met Auguste (predeceased). They married and shortly after, he immigrated to Canada and sent for his daughter and wife to join him. His trade in Canada was Masonry. Papgen remarried in 1981 to Pastora who took wonderful care of him throughout their married life together. After 50 years, he finally found his lost family in Armenia and then took a trip to reunite with them. It was a most wonderful experience for him. Papgen enjoyed working in his garden, his grandchildren and tinkering with many things. He was famous for his cooking and feeding leftovers to his many cat friends. They always came back and they will miss him too. rayers will be held on Monday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. in St. Gerard Roman Catholic Church, 45 Foster Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 23 at 1:00 p.m., also in the Church, with Rev. Fr. Pierre Wood, O.F.M., Cap. presiding. For those who wish, viewing will be held one hour prior to Mass. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, 88 Hespeler Avenue. MOREY, Thomas Alexander, Sadly, but after a life well lived, the family of Tom Morey announce the passing of this wonderful man on March 30, 2004. To all who knew Tom over his 89 years, he was always a kind, happy, positive and outgoing individual. He was devoted and caring to his late wife Tillie (August 11, 1999) for some 50 years. So proud and supportive towards his three girls - Carol, Shirley and Barbara. Tom was not only a father-in-law to Frank Krsul, John Duffy and Leeland MacDonald, bu t a true friend who was always there to lend a helping hand or words of moral support. His granchildren Tim and Peter (Trisha) Krsul, Jessica (Eric) Gravelle, Quinn (Michael Serafino) MacDonald and John (Lidia Romeo) Duffy will treasure their wonderf ul memories of their remarkable "Pap" - memories to share with Ciara, his great-granddaughter. Tommy lived his entire life in or close to his hometown Thorold. Many may recall this hard working paperworker during his 40 years of employment at the Abi tibi/Fraser plant or as a sociable vet who was a life member at both the Canadian Corps Unit #44 and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #17 Thorold. He will be missed by friends from many years of camping and socializing. The family would like to ackno wledge, commend and thank each and everyone of the exceptional staff at Chestnut Court Retirement Home who cared for Tom as if he were one of their own immediate family. PATON, Kathleen (nee Baxter). Kay passed away peacefully in her eighty-fifth year on Thursday, April 1, 2004 at Southlake Regional Hospital. Kay was the beloved wife of the late Norman Paton and loving mother of Norma (Gib), June (Lee), Tony (Sandra) and Bill. Predeceased by brother Doug Baxter and sister Gwen (Jim) Finnemore and brother-in-law Gerry Mick. Fondly remembered by sisters Grace Mick, Dorothy (Douglas) MacKay, and sister-in-law Dorothy Baxter. Kay loved her many grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family moved from Montreal to Mississauga in 1965. Kay's passions were family, golf and tennis. A celebration of Kay's life will be held at St. Andrews-Chalmers Presbyterian Church, Uxbridge, Ontario (40B Toronto Street South), at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2004.
