URSO, Marco In loving memory of Marco Urso, 80 years of Sudbury, who passed away Saturday morning, March 6th, 2004 at the Extendicare York, Sudbury. He was born in Laurignano Cosenza, Italy, and married Serafina (Ammirante) in 1950 in Italy. Marco came to Sudbury in 1951 from Italy. He retired in 1986 from INCO as a maintenance mechanic in the Iron Ore Plant having 35 years service. He was a member of St. Anthony's Church, the Caruso Club and the Cavalieri della Patria. Marco loved life having many interests which included playing bocce, reading, wine making, hunting, fishing, travelling especially to Cuba and gardening. He was devoted to his loving family. Beloved husband of Serafina (Ammirante) Urso of Sudbury. Loving father of Pasquale "Pat" (wife Ursula), Carla (husband Dave Nurmi) and Gerry (wife Elisa) all of Sudbury, Sue (husband Octavio Soares) of Toronto and Loriann (husband Nick Contini) of Sudbury. LESTER, GLENDON MURRAY - The death of Glendon Murray Lester, husband of the late Elizabeth (Williams) Lester, of the Loch Lomond Villa, occurred on March 5, 2004, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Wellington and Sarah (McColgan) Lester. He was a barber by trade and was the proprietor of Lester's Barber Shop. He loved to sing and enjoyed his cottage at New River Beach. Glendon was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Elizabeth V. Walsh 1922 - 2004 GALLOWAY, NB - Elizabeth (Bessie) Walsh, 81, wife of Earl Walsh, passed away on March 7, 2004 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital after a brief illness. Born in South Branch on August 31, 1922, she was the daughter of the late James Brown and Annie (Markey) Brown. Bessie retired from the Rexton Lions Nursing Home and previously was a caregiver. Patsy Praestegaard 1940 - 2004 MIRAMICHI, NB - Viola Patsy Praestegaard, of Air Force Crescent, Miramichi Retirement Community, passed away a the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Friday evening, at the age of 63. Born in Auburnville, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Eva (Kingston) McLenaghan. She was a homemaker; a member of St. Marys Anglican Church, Miramichi; a former employee of Sears Canada, in Toronto; a former employee of Dept. of National Defense, Toronto; a former lottery booth employee in Toronto. She is survived by one daughter, Catherine (Cathy) Locke (Peter), of Calgary, Alta.; one son, Villy Praestegaard Jr., of Toronto; one sister, Debbie Bourque (Timmy), of Miramichi; three brothers, Douglas McLenaghan and Junior McLenaghan (Debbie), all of Miramichi, and Lloyd McLenaghan, of Fredericton; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; one brother, Willard McLenaghan. By request, there will be no visiting at the funeral home. SAUNDERS, KENNETH L. - The death of Kenneth Lloyd Saunders of Gondola Point occurred Friday, March 5, 2004 peacefully at home with his loving partner of 29 years, Barbara (Watson) Mabey, and his family by his side. Born in Gondola Point, NB, he was a son of the late Herbert and Carrie (Dann) Saunders. Ken was retired from Irving Paper and was an inspiration and joy to everyone who knew him. His special gift was to love and be loved by young and old alike. His sense of humour has given Barb and his family many wonderful memories that we will all treasure. We all, quite simply, adored him. He is survived by his partner, Barbara (Watson) Mabey and her children, Cindy MacGregor, Stephen, Michael, Tim and Jonathan Mabey; brother, Robert Saunders; and his sisters, Vera (Saunders) Stephenson, Erma (Saunders) Bergeron, Inez (Saunders) Parsons; daughter, Christina; and son, Stephen; several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. CAMERON, PATRICIA A. The sudden death of Patricia A. Cameron, daughter of W.E. and Elaine Spurling and step-mother Catherine Spurling, occurred on Thursday March 4th in her beloved home of Bermuda. Mom passed away peacefully in the hospital where she was born March 6th, 1926. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 51 years, Edward F. Cameron who passed away Sept 10th, 2001. Pat is survived by her sister Penny (Geof) Slater of Toronto, her daughter Lynne Watson of Fredericton, her son Gary and his wife Cheryl of Vancouver, her son Clarke of Fredericton, her numerous cousins in Bermuda and her faithful canine companion " Misty". She is also survived by three very special grandson's (the loves of her life) Chris Watson of Toronto and brothers Ryan and Alex Cameron of Fredericton. Mom was born in Bermuda and travelled to Canada. She graduated with a BSc. from Mount Allison University in1946, where she met her husband Ed. She taught school In Springhill before moving to Fredericton and spent many happy years as secretary at MacAdam Avenue School. She was an artist and painter with a love of seascapes and has been a very active member of the Fredericton Society of Artists. Throughout the years she donated much of her time to the local hospital as well as many other volunteer organizations. She was an avid supporter of Mount Allison University and organizer of their yearly reunions. Pat was a wonderful friend to many who will miss her loyalty, her care for others, her talents and the willingness to share those gifts. There will be no visitation at the request of the family and plans for a memorial service are incomplete at this time. Arrangements will be handled by York Funeral Home. MACALPINE, DONALD NEVIN Donald N. MacAlpine, age 88, passed away peacefully, at home, in the company of his family on March 6, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Grace (Myers) MacAlpine and beloved father of Cindy Manderson (Robert), Heather MacAlpine and Valerie Matthews (David) and the dear grandfather of Elizabeth Manderson, Eric and Nathanial Bond, and Daniel and Victoria Matthews. He was the dear brother of Vivian Leckey and Eldred Murray. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by infant daughter Helen, sister Phyllis Thorne, and three brothers-in-law; Walter Thorne, Norman Leckey and Robin Murray. A farmer all his life, he brightened our lives with his love of family, friends, neighbours, music and his wonderful stories of the past. He was a good listener and he had a passion for woodworking. Rousselle, Albert Joseph March 08, 2004 Dec. 16, 1923-Mar. 5, 2004 Albert Rousselle passed away in the early morning hours on March 5th after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 80. Albert was born on Dec. 16th, 1923 in Pont Landry N.B. He moved to Heron Bay North in 1955 to work with The Ontario Paper Co. until retiring in 1989. He then moved to Manitouwadge in 1971 then to Marathon in 1982 until his passing. Albert was predeceased by his mother Sarah (nee Lanteigne) in 1994 at the age of 98 and his father Gilbert in 1952. He is also predeceased by his sister Marie Anne Elizabeth at age 16, baby brother Arthur, Lange, Leo ,Pierre (Clara) Gilbert all of Pont Landry N.B., and brother-in-law Emile Legere. He is survived by his loving wife Marie Clara (nee Savoie), his sisters Clara Legere of Notre Dames des Arables, N.B. and Albina of Pont Landry, N.B.. brothers Lionel (Jean) of Sudbury, On., Yvon (Diane) of Niagara Falls, On., Edmond (Raymonde) of Pont Landry, sister-in-law Rina (Gilbert) and Mona (Leo). His children Viola (Henry) Lavoie, Noella (Richard) LeSarge of Sudbury, Alfreda Chevrier (Norm) Dawes of White River, Armida (John) Cress of Heron Bay, Osias (Brenda) of Heron Bay, Medard (Amanda) of Marathon. LEDUC-BURTNEY-FLORIDA _(nee Larose) passed away peacefully at St. Ann's Home on Friday, March 5, 2004 at the age of 86. She moved to Saskatoon in 1967 and during that time she devoted her life to care giving at St. Ann's Home until her retirement in 1982. Florida's joys in life were her family, friends, dancing, gardening and traveling. She was well known for her warmth and compassion and will always be remembered for her beautiful smile. Florida is survived by her son, Albert Leduc; granddaughter, Adelle; daughter, Giselle (Michael) Anderson; eight sisters and five brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Roger Leduc in 1959 and her second husband, Joseph Burtney in 1981; and by her father in 1960; mother in 1976; and sister in 2003. Vigil of Prayer will be held on Monday, March 8, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Both services will be held in the Chapel of St. Ann's Home, 2910 Louise Street, Saskatoon, SK. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Matthew Hertz, OMI. Cremation will follow, with interment of ashes in St. Claude Cemetery, St. Claude, MB at a later date. ADAM BEN MAURICE POIRIER It is with great sadness that the family of Adam Poirier announces his accidental passing on March 3, 2004 at the age of 19. Adam will be deeply missed by his loving parents Maurice and Esther Poirier of Mitchell; his siblings, Jennifer (Glen) Stark of Calgary, Kevin Poirier of Winnipeg (ManChi Lau of Hong Kong), Jillian (Alan) Harder of Steinbach, Erica (Mark) Quiring and nephew Anthony Quiring of Steinbach, his grandparents, Nettie Hiebert of Steinbach, Omar and Margueritte Poirier of Otterburne; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Adam was predeceased by his grandfather Ben Hiebert in 1980. Adam was born on November 21, 1984 in Reston, MB and lived in Virden, and moved with his family to Mitchell, MB in 1986. He was baptized upon the confession of his faith on November 2, 1997 at Full Gospel Chapel in Steinbach. Adam, the youngest of five children, was home schooled till grade 8 and then attended the Steinbach Christian High School for grades 9 through 12 which he completed in June of 2003. He worked full time nights at Bake World in Steinbach and was also taking a course at Steinbach Regional High School. Adam will always be remembered as a caring young man who had a heart for other people, particularly kids. He went out of his way to make new students at school feel welcome. His positive smiling nature always lit up any room he entered. At work, he was considered reliable and a hard worker who got along well with his coworkers. When Adam was around you could be sure that you would receive one of his many big bear hugs that he always gave so freely. Adam was a kind, caring, loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend who will be very sadly and deeply missed. Elle était la soeur de: feu Fernande Bergeron, Henri, Thérèse, feu Roland (Myrtha Rioux), Lucille (feu Paul Blais), Jeannine (feu Maurice Langevin), Rita (Donald Davidson), Guy (Marcelle Gagnon). Elle laisse également dans le deuil plusieurs neveux et nièces, parents et amis. Une personne bénévole sera présente au salon afin de recueillir vos dons en faveur de la Fondation des maladies du coeur. KEBEDGY-PELET, Jeanne-Alice (Nanny, Misette) Épouse de Nikon (Nik) Kebedgy, est décédée, entourée de sa famille, à Pointe-Claire, à l'âge de quatre-vingt-neuf ans, le jeudi 4 mars 2004. Sa fille Denise Babb et son gendre Kenrick, sa petite-fille Johanne (Daniel Wheeler), son petit-fils Stéphane (Rachel Gallant) et ses arrière-petits-fils Alexandre et Nicholas célèbrent sa vie riche d'accomplissements. Ici et en Suisse, ses amis et sa famille, sa soeur Cécile Aubert-Pelet, son frère Paul-Louis Pelet, ses cousins, cousines, neveux et nièces se souviendront toujours de son amour et de sa joie de vivre. Elle enseigna vingt ans le français à l'école The Study. Elle a longtemps été membre de CAMMAC et membre fidèle de l'Église Unie Saint-Jean à Montréal. La famille recevra les condoléances au salon funéraire Collins Clarke 222, autoroute 20 (sortie 49, Cartier) Pointe-Claire dès 16 h le lundi 8 mars, suivi d'un service commémoratif dans la chapelle du salon à 16 h 30.
