GORING, Jean Mary (nee Breau) 1909 - 2004 Jean Mary Goring of Calgary passed away at the Intercare Chinook Care Centre on Friday, March 5, 2004 at the age of 94 years. Jean was born in Chatham, NB on May 13, 1909. She was an avid tennis player and accomplished lawn bowler, winning several trophies. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bevan (Edna) Murray of Calgary, and Ronald (Pam) Murray of Brechin, ON; a grandson David (Jean) Murray of Calgary; a granddaughter Debra Murray and partner Harvey Komhyr of Calgary; two grandsons, Joseph Murray and Steven (Manuela) Murray; a great-grandson Mitchell; and a great-granddaughter Hannah, all of Ontario. Jean is also survived by sisters, Anne Stewart of Truro, NS, Yvonne Merritt of Springhill, NS and a brother Al (Helen) Breau of Amherst, NS; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Nova Scotia. She was predeceased by her husbands, Frank Murray and Vic Goring; sisters, Kay and Helen; brother Jimmy; mother Philomene (Mallet); and father Andrew Breau. Louis Joseph Thomas Dumont February 9, 1923 March 5, 2004 Tom passed away on March 5, 2004 at Royal University Hospital. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of sixty years, Betty; daughter Yvonne (Laurence); sons, Roland (Veronica), Marlowe, (Kim); granddaughters, Donna (Chris), Karen (Tony); grandsons, Paul, Tom, Joe (Kari), Shane; great granddaughters, Meghann and Avery. Tom was predeceased by a son, Sheldon, in 1976; and brothers Aurel, Aristide; and sister-in-law, Mary. Tom is also survived by brothers, Leo (Irene), Gerard (Dorothy); sisters, Anne (David), Juliette (Archie); sister-in-law, Anne; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Tom worked for Beaver Lumber for 44 years retiring in 1988. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, travelling, playing bridge, baseball, dancing, barbershop singing and ham radio. Lapointe, Dennis March 08, 2004 Dennis Lapointe, age 75 years, of Frederica Street, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice on March 6, 2004 surrounded by his family. Dennis was born in Jacquet River, New Brunswick. He worked in the grain elevators for many years until his retirement in 1988. Dennis was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Dennis was a lifetime member of the Westfort Prosvita. Survived by his wife Iris, children Jamie, Denese (Brooks), Patty, Terry (Cathy), Randy (Corina), Ron (Kathy), Frank (Carole) and Donnie (Margaret). LEDUC-BURTNEY-FLORIDA _(nee Larose) passed away peacefully at St. Ann's Home on Friday, March 5, 2004 at the age of 86. She moved to Saskatoon in 1967 and during that time she devoted her life to care giving at St. Ann's Home until her retirement in 1982. Florida's joys in life were her family, friends, dancing, gardening and traveling. She was well known for her warmth and compassion and will always be remembered for her beautiful smile. Florida is survived by her son, Albert Leduc; granddaughter, Adelle; daughter, Giselle (Michael) Anderson; eight sisters and five brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Roger Leduc in 1959 and her second husband, Joseph Burtney in 1981; and by her father in 1960; mother in 1976; and sister in 2003. Vigil of Prayer will be held on Monday, March 8, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Both services will be held in the Chapel of St. Ann's Home, 2910 Louise Street, Saskatoon, SK. ADAM BEN MAURICE POIRIER It is with great sadness that the family of Adam Poirier announces his accidental passing on March 3, 2004 at the age of 19. Adam will be deeply missed by his loving parents Maurice and Esther Poirier of Mitchell; his siblings, Jennifer (Glen) Stark of Calgary, Kevin Poirier of Winnipeg (ManChi Lau of Hong Kong), Jillian (Alan) Harder of Steinbach, Erica (Mark) Quiring and nephew Anthony Quiring of Steinbach, his grandparents, Nettie Hiebert of Steinbach, Omar and Margueritte Poirier of Otterburne; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Adam was predeceased by his grandfather Ben Hiebert in 1980. Adam was born on November 21, 1984 in Reston, MB and lived in Virden, and moved with his family to Mitchell, MB in 1986. He was baptized upon the confession of his faith on November 2, 1997 at Full Gospel Chapel in Steinbach. Adam, the youngest of five children, was home schooled till grade 8 and then attended the Steinbach Christian High School for grades 9 through 12 which he completed in June of 2003. He worked full time nights at Bake World in Steinbach and was also taking a course at Steinbach Regional High School. Adam will always be remembered as a caring young man who had a heart for other people, particularly kids. He went out of his way to make new students at school feel welcome. His positive smiling nature always lit up any room he entered. At work, he was considered reliable and a hard worker who got along well with his coworkers. When Adam was around you could be sure that you would receive one of his many big bear hugs that he always gave so freely. Adam was a kind, caring, loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend who will be very sadly and deeply missed.
