GOULET, CHARLES – Des funérailles auront lieu le 27 février 2004 pour Charles Goulet de Moonbeam, décédé le 21 février à l'Hôpital Sensenbrenner de Kapuskasing à l'âge de 83 ans. Né le 22 septembre 1920 à Normandin au Québec, il a notamment été opérateur de machinerie lourde pour le compte de la municipalité de Manitouwadge. Il aimait travailler dans son garage et écouter de la musique dans ses moments libres. Il fut précédé dans la mort par quatre frères : Léon, Phillias, Paul et Gérard; par quatre soeurs : Lianne, Louisette, Jeanne D'Arc et Marie-Ange ainsi que par un fils : Jacques. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Yvonne de Moonbeam; deux filles : Yvette Dolbec de Timmins et Jeannette Bilodeau (Paul) de Manitouwdage; trois fils : Jean (Suzanne), Robert et André de Manitouwadge; trois frères : Fernand de Moonbeam, Rev. Jules Goulet de Vancouver et Réal de Montréal; une soeur : Marguerite Duguay de Montréal, ainsi que six petits-enfants et huit arrière-petits-enfants. C'est le père Jean-Guy Mailloux qui célébrera le service funèbre. Mr. Goulet was born on Sept. 22, 1920 in Normandin, Quebec. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the municipality of Manitouwadge. He enjoyed working in his garage and listening to music. Mr. Goulet was predeceased by son Jacques, brothers Léon, Philias and Gérard and sisters Lianne, Louisette, Jeanne D’Arc and Marie-Ange. He is survived by his wife Yvonne, daughters Yvette Dolbec of Timmins and Jeannette (Paul) Bilodeau of Manitouwadge; and sons Jean (Suzanne), Robert and André, all of Manitouwadge. Also surviving are brothers Fernand of Moonbeam, Rev. Jules Goulet of Vancouver and Réal of Montreal; sister Marguerite Duguay of Montreal, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Fr. Jean-Guy Mailloux will officiate at the funeral service on Feb. 27, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Nativité de Marie Church. Mr. Goulet will be interred at the Moonbeam Cemetery.

RICHARD, YVAN – Des funérailles auront lieu aujourd'hui (mercredi 25 février) pour Yvan Richard de canton de Shackleton, décédé le 19 février 2004 à l'Hôpital Sensenbrenner de Kapuskasing à l'âge de 59 ans. Né le 5 mars 1944 à Fauquier, il était membre des Chevaliers de Colomb (4e degré) de Kapuskasing. Comme loisir, il aimait bien pratiquer la pêche. Il fut précédé dans la mort par ses parents Henry et Germaine Rodrigue, ainsi que par deux soeurs : Claudette et Marie. Il laisse dans le deuil sa conjointe Pauline Mercure de Fauquier; deux filles : Sylvie (Luc Albert) et Renée Richard d'Ottawa; cinq frères : Bruno-Marc de Toronto, Jules Richard (Gilberte) de Kapuskasing, Edmond (Diane) de Fauquier, Guy de Fauquier et Serge (Catherine) de Smooth Rock Falls; six soeurs : Lucie Dubé, Hatty D'Amours (Gary Boucher), Marina Lajoie (Fernand) de Kapuskasing, Agnes Dufour (Majella) de Russell, Raymonde Haché (Roméo), Marcelle Pineault (Gilles), tous de Fauquier, ainsi que quatre petits-enfants. Née le 30 juin 1927 à Ste-Rose de Laval au Québec, elle a été concierge pour le conseil scolaire pendant plusieurs années. Elle aimait la pêche, la motoneige et cuisiner ainsi que tricoter. Elle fut précédée dans la mort par une soeur : Pauline Babin et un frère Zénon “Jos” Tremblay. Elle laisse dans le deuil son époux René; deux fils : Marcel (Margaret) et Ronald (Suzanne), tous de Kapuskasing; une fille : Nicole Fortier (Guy) de Kapuskasing; une soeur : Jeannine Ward (Bob) de Squamish, ainsi que six petits-enfants et 4 arrière-petits-enfants. She enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, cooking , bingo and knitting Mrs. Babin was predeceased by sister Pauline and brother Zénon ‘Jos’ Tremblay. She is survived by her husband René, sons Marcel (Margaret) and Ronald (Suzanne), all of Kap; daughter Nicole (Guy) Fortier of Kap; sister Jeannine (Bob) Ward of Squamish; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Fr. Jacques Fortin will officiate the funeral service on Feb. 20, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. at Notre Dame de la Paix Church. Mrs. Babin will be interred at the Kapuskasing Cemetery.

HACHEZ, CÉLESTIN – Des funérailles ont eu lieu le 24 février 2004 pour Célestin Hachez de Kapuskasing, décédé le 20 février à l'Hôpital Sensenbrenner à l'âge de 64 ans. Né à St-Adelme, Rimouski au Québec, il a été journalier dans le domaine de la construction. Il aimait regarder la télévision pendant ses temps libres. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Lucette; un frère : Gaëtan de Kapuskasing; trois soeurs : Thérèse McLaughlin de Kapuskasing, Jacqueline de Montréal et Lucette de Montréal, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. C'est le père Gilles Gosselin qui a conduit le service funèbre. La dépouille mortelle a été incinérée au Crématorium Hillcrest de Matheson.Célestin Hachez, 25 Spruce St., Kapuskasing, died at Sensenbrenner Hospital on Feb. 20, 2004. He was 64 years old. Mr. Hachez was born on May 16, 1939 in St-Adelme, Rimouski, Quebec. He worked in construction and enjoyed watching television. He is survived by his wife Lucette, brother Gaetan of Kapuskasing, sisters Thérèse McLaughlin of Kap and Jacqueline and Lucette of Montreal, and good friend Maurice St. Louis. Fr. Gilles Gosselin officiated the funeral service on Feb. 24, 2004 at Immaculée Conception Church. Cremation at the Hillcrest Crematorium.

LAFRENIERE JUNE BEATRICE (LOCKREY) LAFRENIERE passed away at the Bluewater Health - Palliative Care on Monday, February 23, 2004 at the age of 71 following a courageous battle with cancer. Dear sister of Robert Lockrey and Hilda and brother-in-law Don Goodman. Survived by many nieces and nephews Dale and Cathy Lockrey, Gary and Donna Lockrey, Wayne and Karen Goodman, Sheila and Bob Mitchell, Brian and Judy Goodman and also by 12 great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Emma (Hull) Lockrey (1967) and Charles Lockrey (1939). Also predeceased by brothers Norman Lockrey (1989), Frank Lockrey (1996) and her sister Renelda Lockrey (2001) and sister-in-law Alice Lockrey (2001). Cousin and true friend of Phyllis Chapman. June was a retiree from Prestolite and Nova Chemical. ETELAIN DOLORES (nee Belair) 1937-2004 The family announces with great sorrow her death at the Timmins & District Hospital on Thusday, February 19, 2004 at the age of 66 years. She leaves to mourn her husband Jean-Pierre, her children Stephane et Michele. Dear sister of Laurianne Boissonneault (Rene), Claudette L’Ecuyer (Denis), Laurio Belair (Lucille), Gerald Belair (Lorraine), Marcel Belair (Claire) and Claude Belair (Pam) all of Timmins as well as Sylvio Belair (Carolyn) of Vancouver. She also leaves sisters-in-law Georgette and Rita Belair and many nieces and nephews and a goddaughter Tammy Murphy (nee L’Ecuyer) of Bradford. She also leaves a very special cousin whom to her was like a sister Madeleine Jodouin. On behalf of the Etelain family, they express there deepest apology for any grief that it may have caused. Predeceased by her parents Wilfrid (Feb.1981) and Louise (Sept. 1954) Belair, her brothers Albert (Nov. 1993), Noël (Feb. 1983), Rene (March 1999), her sister Rolande (Feb. 1937) and a sister-in-law Antonia (Girard) Belair (Nov.1987). She was a school teacher in Val Gagne, Cochrane and Timmins and was a librarian at Don Bosco for many years. She was a member of "Les Dames St. Dominique". Violette, Michel Jr. - Suddenly at his residence on February 20th, 2004, Mr. Michel Violette Jr. of Welland in his 33rd year. Beloved son of the late Michel (1994) and Marie Jeanne (1997) Violette. Dear brother of Marcel (wife Margueritte) of Kapuskasing, Jacques (wife Carole) of Mississauga and Rosaire (wife Sharon) of Kingston. Loving grandson of Simone Desjardins. Michel was born in Welland in 1971 and worked as a security guard for Peninsula Security and 4500 Taxi. He was a member of the Canadian Legion Branch 4, Welland/Port Colborne Euchre League and the Club Social Monday Night Mixed Darts League. By family request there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Welland Funeral Home 827 East Main St., Welland on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the memorial service at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. GRIFFIN, GRAHAM ERIC Eric Griffin suffered a heart attack and passed away on February 15, 2004 in the Philippines. Born in Campbellton, N.B. in 1942, he was the son of Margaret Best of Stanley and the late Earle Griffin, who was killed in World War II. He was a grandson of Harold and Mary (Graham) Griffin of Fredericton. He is survived by three children, Jennifer (Kevin) Baxter, Tracy Griffin and Daniel Griffin; one grandchild, Anabelle Jean Baxter; two sisters, Elizabeth (Bill) MacDonald and Beverley (Phillip) Plume. Formerly a fireman in Ottawa, he was a missionary in the Philippines. He was predeceased by an infant son. A memorial service will be held at a later date. FOOTE, DONALD VERNON - At home, surrounded by his family, Donald Vernon Foote of Willow Grove, died on February 23, 2004, after a period of failing health. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Percy and Muriel (Llewellyn) Foote. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 55 years, Mary Gertrude (Rogers), his daughter, Donna Lavigne (James) of Willow Grove, and his two sons, Michael of Willow Grove and Joseph (Murratte Graves) of Hunter Lake. He is also survived by two sisters, Edwrina Hansen of Saint John and Kathleen Dobbyn (James) of Grand Prairie, four brothers, Charles (Martina) of Saint John, Merle of Miramichi, Sheldon (Ruth) of Quispamsis, and Nelson of Montreal, six grandchildren, Lori Lavigne, Jeffrey Lavigne (Kerry), Jason Lavigne, Ryan Lavigne, Christopher Lavigne, and Patrick Graves, three great grandchildren, Craig Lavergne, Jessie Lavergne, and Mikayla Lavigne, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers, Melvin, Ellis (Mike), Allison, and Douglas, and six sisters, France (Dolly), Esther, Janet, Virginia, Corina, and Winona. Don served as a seaman on many of Her Majesty's ships during WWII in the RCNVR. He was discharged from HMCS Brunswicker at the end of WWII hostilities. He was a lifetime member of the Naval Veteran's Association (Main Brace). For many years, he worked as a construction millwright and also served on the Executive of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. Having a strong commitment to his community, he was instrumental in the inception of Simond's Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Service, serving many years as a volunteer on both organizations, and held positions as Transport Officer for 743 Saint John Ambulance Division and Deputy Fire Chief of Simond's Fire Department. After his retirement as a millwright in 1990, Don devoted many thousands of hours of volunteer work to Meals on Wheels, Romero House, and the Saint John Volunteer Center. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Monsignor F.M. Lockary Assembly of the Knights of Columbus, and at the time of his death, he was Grand Knight of Council 11201 Knights of Columbus. He was a member of St. Joseph's Parish and was active in several ministries, including hospitality, bereavement, and minister of the Eucharist. Visitation will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Wednesday February 25 and Thursday February 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Parish, 4347 Loch Lomond Rd, at 11 AM on Friday February 27. Interment will take place in Saint Joseph's Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society, St Joseph's Parish, or a volunteer organization of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. A Tribute to a Veteran service will be held on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.

Thorald E. Allen The death of Thorald E. Allen, age 86, of Port Elgin, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, February 24, 2004. Born in Cadman's Corner, he was a son of the late Marvin and Clara (Crawford) Allen. He was a fisherman and farmer for many years, and worked for years for the Department of Highways. JACQUELINE ANN NELSON (CYR) Jacqueline Ann Nelson, 34, of Northwest Bay First Nation, Ont., passed away suddenly at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004. She was born June 24, 1969 in Fort Frances. Jacqueline attended elementary school in Devlin and later Fort Frances High School. She then graduated from Seven Generations Secondary School, attended the University of Manitoba, and later transferred to Sault College, where she graduated in Business Administration with honours. On Aug. 10, 2001, she was united in marriage to Jeffery Nelson. Jacqueline worked as a secretary/receptionist for the Naicatchewenin First Nations for eight years. She assisted with various initiatives, and represented the health and education committee for the band. Jacqueline enjoyed playing Bingo, watching Borderland Thunder hockey games, and spending time with her nieces and nephews. Jacqueline also was devoted to her husband, and loyal to her family and close friends. The family includes her mother, Mabel Cyr; grandparents, Roderick and Lucy Cyr; husband, Jeffery Nelson; and sister, Pam Cyr and her children, Deanna, Christina, Shane, Jonah, and Christian, all of Northwest Bay First Nation, Ont. Also surviving are her uncles, Buddy, Norman, and Wilfred (Dorothy) and their children, Wilf Cyr Jr., Shane Wood, and Charles Wood, all of Bemidji, Mn.; and aunt, Mary (Ray) Jourdain and their children, Carolyn, Gary, and Brad (Carla) and their children, Makayla and Dawson, all of Couchiching First Nation, Ont. McGUIRE, Michael Francis "Mike" In loving memory of Michael "Mike" F. He returned to the Sudbury area in 1991 and he was the Manager at the New Sudbury branch until the onset of his illness. He was an avid golfer who belonged to the Timberwolf Golf Club. He enjoyed many family trips to Disney World. Always an outgoing person he was happiest in the company of his loving family and many friends who enjoyed his wonderful stories and great sense of humour. PENNER, RANDY EVAN Suddenly, and tragically at his home in Kitchener on Friday, February 20, 2004, age 47 years. Beloved son of Dave and Lois Penner of Waubeschene. Dear brother of Greg and wife Louise of Shanty Bay, twin brother of Robin and wife Sandy of Burnaby, B.C., brother of Terry and wife Nancy of Kitchener, Jeffery of Kitchener, Danny and wife Gin of Kitchener. Randy will be missed by his nieces and nephews, Douglas, Michael, Rebecca, Stephen, Jessica, Christine, Christopher, Bradley and Elizabeth who will always remember the time he devoted to them, making each one feel special. Randy will also be lovingly remembered by his many friends and relatives. Randy graduated from the University of Guelph in 1980 with a double major in languages and art. He was a professional artist and used his talent to teach children and adults. As a high school student, he designed the Woolwich Township crest. He was a kind and gentle person who was generous with his time and energy in helping others. He loved children, and spent many hours with his nieces and nephews playing games, going on nature walks, teaching them art and lovingly taught them many of lifes' lessons and values. He lived his life with passion. Friends are invited to share their memories of Randy with his family at the EDWARD R. Predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Bert (John) Weatherdon on Oct. 27, 1991 and their eldest son, Keith on August 6, 1979. Survived by her daughter, Beth (Tom) Pengelly, N. Aurea (Bélliveau) Cahill We lost a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother but we gained our very own guardian angel. It is with great sadness that daughters, Carol-Ann & Bernice, grandsons, Michael and John and great granddaughter, Kaitlyn announce the passing of their mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother and best friend on February 22, 2004. Aurea was born in Bélliveau Village, New Brunswick. She was the daughter of the late Eloi and Domethilde (Hébert) Belliveau. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Harold Cahill (February 23, 1979) and by brothers, Joseph, Tréffle, Clarence, Ferdinand and Phillip Bélliveau and sisters, Lilianne LeBlanc, Bernadette Camire and Juliette Camire. She is survived by many special and devoted nephews and nieces residing in New Brunswick, Quebec and the United States. We have loved her in life, we shall never forget her in death. Se souviendront avec amour d'Aline, son bien-aime epoux, Victor; ses 2 filles Monique (Delay) et Gabrielle (Roland Marion); 4 petits-enfants Alain et Chantale Delay, Natalie et Valerie Marion; ses soeurs Sr. Lea m.o., Sr. Annette s.g.m., Luce, Rita (Louis); son frere le Dr. Jules (Rey); ses belles-soeurs, Dora (Laurent) et Blanche (Conrad); et plusieurs neveux et nieces et de nombreux amis.es. Aline fut precedee de ses parents, Auguste et Celine (nee Laroche); ses soeurs, Therese, Germaine, Yvonne, Cora, Irene; ses freres, Pere Wilfrid o.m.i., Paul, Conrad et Laurent; et plusieurs beaux freres et belles soeurs. Aline venait d'une famille de 15 enfants et grandit a Saint-Pierre Jolys, a "la fourche," ou elle travailla sur la ferme paternelle et plus tard comme couturiere a l'atelier de couture de l'Hopital de Saint-Boniface. Le 13 septembre 1947, elle epousa son bien-aime Victor et ils vecurent a Saint-Pierre et travaillerent avec leurs 2 filles sur une ferme de visons pendant plus de 25 ans. En 1972, ils demenagerent a Winnipeg. Aline etait une femme douee dans la couture, le tricot, le jardinage et talents cuisiniers. Elle etait une epouse et mere douce, patiente et tres compassionee, se donnant entierement pour le bien-etre et le bonheur de sa famille. Aline avait plus particulierement les qualites d'accueil chaleureux, de charite et de service envers son prochain. Elle avait un coeur sensible et cherchait toujours a venir en aide a celui ou celle dans le besoin a qui elle savait si bien preter une oreille attentive, un mot d'encouragement ou l'aide necessaire. La plus grande valeur et force de notre chere epouse, maman et grand-maman etait sa foi ardente en Dieu et sa devotion a la Vierge Marie. Elle etait une femme tres priante et elle su transmettre sa foi et son amour pour le Seigneur a ses enfants et petits-enfants, non seulement par ses paroles mais par tous ses humbles gestes d'amour et de charite pose envers sa famille et ses prochains. Maman et grand-maman merci pour le plus beau et grand heritage, ton amour et ta foi. La famille aimerait remercier specialement le medecin Dr. Jose Francois pour ses soins compatissants, le personnel de l'Hopital general de Saint-Boniface au 7S, 6S et 6E, le Pere Louis Vielfare, les parents et nombreux amis qui ont entoures maman de leur presence, amour et prieres. Des prieres auront lieu le jeudi 26 fevrier a 19h30, a l'eglise Precieux-Sang. La messe des funerailles aura lieu le vendredi 27 fevrier a 10h30, a l'eglise Precieux-Sang. Aline will be forever in the hearts of her loving husband Victor and her two daughters, Monique (Delay) and Gabrielle (Roland Marion); four grandchildren, Alain and Chantale Delay, Natalie and Valerie Marion; her sisters, Sr. Lea, Sr. Annette, Luce, Rita (Louis); her brother Dr. Jules (Rey); sisters-in-law, Dora (Laurent) and Blanche (Conrad); many nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends. On September 13, 1947, she married her beloved Victor and lived in St. Pierre for 25 years, working on a mink farm and raising two daughters. In 1972 the family moved to Winnipeg. Aline was entirely devoted to her family. She treasured her husband and daughters and invested her whole being in the noble profession of motherhood. She was a woman of many abilities, using her talents such as sewing, knitting, cooking and gardening to bless people around her. Aline's greatest charism was her faith in God and devotion to Our Blessed Mother, the Virgin Mary. She was a prayer warrior and passed on the torch of faith, hope and love to her family. She had a "closet ministry", where her compassion and understanding shone through, by her listening ear, kind words of encouragement, fervent silent prayers and many deeds of charity. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Jose Francois, the staff on 7S, 6S and 6E, Fr. Louis Vielfaure, family and friends who surrounded Mom with their presence of love and prayers. Prayers will be said on Thursday, February 26 at 7:30 p.m. at Precious Blood Church. Épouse de feu Jean-Guy Bonneau, elle laisse dans le deuil ses filles Carole (Stuart Koskie) et Anne (Laurent Deguire), ses petits-enfants adorés, Alexandre, Caroline et François, ses soeurs Janine Diotte et Gisèle Sicard, son frère Claude Vézina (Janine).
