Robillard, Stella February 11, 2004 Mrs. Stella Robillard (nee Nazvesky), age 56 years, resident of Thunder Bay, passed away in hospital Monday February 9, 2004. Born in 1947, she was a life-long resident of the Lakehead. Stella enjoyed her gardening, crocheting, cooking, and especially canoeing and times spent at the family camp. She is survived by her loving husband Ken, children; Edward (Laura), Gary (Tracey), John (Lori), Laura Lee; step-sons Shawn, Trevor, best friend and sister Diana Allison; special niece Angela and great nephew Ashten. Special girlfriend Paula Skinner, special Aunt Carrie; grandchildren Jessica, Ed, Zachary, Jarret, Adam, and Talley; great grandchildren Bailey and Brooklyn. Aunts, Uncles, nieces and nephews also survive. Stella was predeceased by her parents, Vera (1976) and John (2000), special brother Jerry (2002) and nephew Robert (1989). Funeral services for Mrs. Stella Robillard will be held Friday February 13, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL 299 Waverley St. at Algoma, officiated by Rev. Larry Hill of the New Apostolic Church. The service will be complete in the chapel with a private interment of ashes later this spring. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday evening in the Everest Funeral Chapel from 6 – 8 p.m. Should friends desire, donations to the Charity of your Choice would be appreciated.

SIMONETTI, Colette. 1950 - 2004. Peacefully, and as beautiful as ever, at Montreal on February 5, 2004. Beloved wife of Hubert Meuse. She will be dearly missed by her mother Claude Simonetti, her brother Pierre Simonetti (Laurence) and grandmother Marguerite Castel, all of Paris, France. Stepmother to Hubert's children Gillian (Tim) Black, Alexandra Meuse and Elizabeth (Marco) Diloreto, all of London, Ontario. Also mourned by her uncles, aunts and cousins in France, England and the United States. Predeceased by her father Jacques Simonetti. She will also be missed by her many close and dear friends. The Green family, George and Janet and their daughters Rosina Green and Margaret Valdes, all of Leeds England, to whom Colette was both a friend and a family member. Her friend since childhood, her cousin Annie Lenny, of England. Her friends since university, Lucie Zitoun of Paris, and Michele Catala and Francoise Roux of Aix-en-Provence, France. Her American friends Harriet Zerder and Arlene Buck of Massachusetts. Anne Blot, Jeannette Vink and Marilyn MacLeod, of Montreal, who provided support and comfort to the very end. Rev. Kenneth MacLeod and Mary-Anne Grant provided friendship and spiritual comfort. Colette fought a courageous five-year battle against ovarian cancer. With the help of the medical profession, the support of her family and friends and her own determination to lead a full and normal life she was winning until the last few months. ALEXANDER, Harold Richard (Dick). Harold was a veteran of WWII with the Royal Canadian Navy and a member of the Col. John McCrae Legion, Branch 234. Before retiring to Guelph in 1983, Harold worked for thirty-five years in the printing industry at the Montreal Standard Publishing Company. He passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on Tuesday, February 10, 2004, at the age of eighty. Harold was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Chadband) of Guelph. MOUNTEER, Donald Edwin Donald Edwin Mounteer, Brigadier General, retired, passed away in peace in Nanaimo General Hospital in the early morning of February 8, 2004. He is survived by his wife Margaret, sister Audrey, children Joan Gauld (Brian), sons Bill (Sue) and Jim (Madelynn), grandchildren Colleen, Heather, Laurie, Mark, Matt, Russell as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Alberta, and British Columbia. Born in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan Aug 2, 1917, he had a rich and happy life through the great depression, World War Two, and a life of service to his country in the Canadian army. Don's military career started with the King's Own Rifles in Moose Jaw, and culminated as Director General of Logistical Services prior to his retirement in 1973. His 34 year career included posts in five provinces and four overseas tours of duty including service on three international commissions. During his retirement career of 31 years beginning in Nanaimo in 1973, he became an avid retiree, fisherman and grandfather to all the kids in the neighbourhood. NEWTON, John Suddenly on February 8, 2004 in his 83rd year. Dearly beloved husband of Joyce (nee Hamlet) for 56 years. ROY NOGA It is with great sadness that the family of Roy Noga announces his passing on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont. Roy was born Oct. 15, 1933 in St. Boniface, Man. to Jacob and Sophie Noga. Roy grew up in Mine Centre, Ont. and attended high school in Fort Frances. He was hired on the B&B and then at age 18, joined the army and fought in Korea. He was hired by Canadian National Rail in 1955 and promoted to engineer in 1963. Roy retired from the CNR in 1992 with 35 years of service. He was united in marriage to Donna Calder on Sept. 5, 1959. He enjoyed the outdoors and could be found fishing, hunting, gardening, and going for walks. He leaves behind his wife, Donna; children, Jody Noga and Teryl (Glen) Noga-Brown, all of Thunder Bay, Ont., and Garry (Bev) Noga of Fort Frances, Ont.; and grandchildren, Keith Noga, R.J. Noga, Cale Brown, Cody Brown, Cary Brown, Erin McNally, Kelsey Tika, Emma Noga, and Carson Noga. Also surviving are his brother, Edward (Joan) Noga of Tennessee; sisters, Nellie West of Camrose, Alta. and Lucille (Dan) Legros of Dryden, Ont.; as well as several nieces and nephews. Roy was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Sophie; son, Jimmy Noga in 1992; and nephew, Dane Wood. Memorial services were held Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Church in Rainy River, Ont., with Deacon George Chojko-Bolec officiating. The honourary pallbearers were his grandchildren. Cremation has taken place at Riverside Crematorium in Thunder Bay. BRIGGS, Thomas (Tom) Howard, 1945-2004 Thomas (Tom) Howard Briggs, beloved husband of Doreen Briggs of Calgary, passed away suddenly while hunting with his dogs on Saturday, February 7, 2004 at the age of 58 years. Tom was a Chartered Accountant who spent most of his life in public practice as a partner with Ernst and Whinney, and most recently as a sole practitioner. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He excelled at field trialing with his beloved Springer Spaniels Angus, Jasper, and new puppy Tag. Tom had a passion for traveling and most recently he and Doreen traveled to South Africa for a safari. Tom is survived by his loving wife Doreen; daughters Leslie and Kim; and son Joel. Beswetherick, Gordon Arthur Passed away peacefully on the morning of February 7, 2004 at Grove Park Home, in the company of family members. Gordon was born Gordon Arthur Martin on October 7, 1910, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He was the son of James Martin of Kilbirnie, Scotland, and Helen Dunnett, of Portland, Maine. After the death of his father, and then his mother, during the flu epidemic of 1918, Gordon was adopted by Joseph and Alice Beswetherick, of Lisle. Gordon was raised there, and enjoyed life on the family farm. Predeceased by his parents and his sisters Jean Whittington and Dora Grose, Gordon is survived by other sisters, Irene Hartnoll, of Sicamous, British Columbia, and Olive Sinzheimer, of Cape May, New Jersey, and by his brother Gregg Martin Coulson and his wife Rose, of Capreol. Loving uncle of David Sinzheimer, Bill Sinzheimer, Carol MacDowell, David Whittington, Susan Gebauer, Bill Hartnoll, Sandra Coulson, Brenda Coulson and Wendy Briscoe. Gordon will always be remembered for his kind and gentle manner, and his love of Nature. He was a life long member of the Brereton Field Naturalists Club of Barrie. TOM FORTIN 1936 - 2004 On his final hunt, Tom Fortin was called home on Saturday, February 7, 2004 at the age of 67 years. Tom will be forever remembered by his wife Judi, and children, Mary and Amy; former wife Virginia and children, Linda (Maarten), Eric, Keith (Evelyn) and Mark (Colleen); nine grandchildren; sisters, Marie Oman, Betty Settee and Alice Hamm; brothers, Wilfred and Robert; special aunt Betsy Anderson; and numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Henri and Mary Fortin; and his sister Eva. Tom was a bush pilot, trapper and road builder who gave of himself. For those who knew him, his laughter and encouragement have left a legacy to follow. Tom loved his children dearly and they were first in his life. Services will be held at Grace Bible Church, 1910 Mountain Rd., Dauphin on Friday, February 13. Viewing will take place at 11:30 a.m. with funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery, Dauphin. Né à Lamèque le 8 janvier 1928, il était fils de feu Henri Savoie et de feu Ida Haché. Outre son épouse, il laisse dans le deuil un fils, Allain Caissie Savoie; quatre soeurs: Noëlla (Léopold) Doucet et Claire (Aurèle) Mallet, toutes deux d’Allardville, Gérarda Benoit de Campbellton et Irène (Gilbert) Losier de Shippagan; deux frères: Richard (Clara) de Saint-Sauveur et Omer d’Edmonton, Alberta, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Trois frères: Alfred, Emery et Joachim, l’ont précédé dans la tombe. M. Savoie a travaillé dans la foresterie. JOHN ROBERT HEATHERINGTON Heatherington- The death occurred of John Robert Heatherington on January 16, 2004 in his 58th year. John was born in Oakville on May 8, 1946 to the late Robert and Ethel Heatherington. He is also predeceased by his sister Lillian Young. He is survived by his sister Gladys Sawyer of Huntsville and favorite niece Rose Marie McAuley. Also sadly missed by long time friend, Emmy Wheeler and family, Al and Joan Gabriel. He will be greatly missed by many friends from Kirkland Lake Bingo Hall where he spent many happy hours. John’s wishes were for cremation with no service. Burial to take place at a later date in Huntsville where he was raised.
