MARYANN CYR May 31, 1956 - February 8, 2004 It is with our deepest sorrow we announce the passing of a dear daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Maryann passed away suddenly at her home on February 8, 2004 at the age of 47 years. MAURICE JOSEPH DESROCHERS On Saturday, February 7, 2004, Maurice Joseph Desrochers peacefully passed away at Deer Lodge Centre. He was born December 28, 1918, and grew up in Mariapolis, MB. He was predeceased by his wife Jeanne; his father Venance; his mother Elise; his brother Tony and his sister Yvonne. Left behind to mourn his passing are his son Don and his wife Paulette, and their two sons, Martin and Shawn; his daughter Bernice and her husband Phil, and their daughter Cara and her fiance Kevin. Don and Bernice want to thank their goddaughter Adele for her visits to see their Dad and for the haircuts she gave him. The family would also like to thank his neighbours, Pat and John for their devoted friendship and for watching out for Dad while he lived next door to them. The many visits they made to see Dad at Deer Lodge were always treasured memories for him. To Dad, Pat and John were his best friends. Also, our sincere appreciation to the staff at Deer Lodge, 4 West, for the care they gave Dad. Funeral service will take place on Friday, February 13 at 1:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy #1 E. and Navin Rd, with viewing 1 hour prior to service. Ruby served during World War II as a Lieutenant Nursing Sister in the Medical Corp, the Canadian M ilitary Field Hospitals in England and Italy. She also nursed at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, West Lincoln Memorial Hospital and was Director of Nursing Services at Windsor Metropolitan Hospital. PILBACKA, "Jack" Jaakko Kalevi In loving memory of Jaakko K. "Jack" Pilbacka, 55 years of Whitefish, who passed away Saturday, February 7th, 2004 at his residence. He was born in Finland. Jaakko came to the Sudbury area in the late sixties from Finland. He was a miner at Falconbridge Ltd. having 30 years service. He was a faithful member of St. Matthew's Finnish Lutheran Church. He was an active person belonging to the Penage Road Senior's Club and in younger days played baseball at the Voima Club. A great outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing especially his hunting trips with his buddies in the Peter Lake Hunt Club. He also spent many happy times at his camp on Lake Penage. Beloved father of Liisa and Robert both of Whitefish. Husband of Marilyn (Lahti) Pilbacka. Cherished son of Reino and Siiri (Ahonen) Pilbacka predeceased. ALOISI, Serafino Ezio "Father the Family" In loving memory of Serafino Ezio Aloisi, 89 years of Copper Cliff, who passed away Saturday afternoon, February 7th, 2004 at the Sudbury Regional hospital - Laurentian Site. He was born in Porgaccio Pesaro, Italy and married Elvezia (Mariotti) in 1941 in Italy. Serafino came to Copper Cliff in 1951 from Italy. He was a well known and respected member of the Copper Cliff Italian Club and also a member of Cavalieri della Patria. He was a retired custodian from the Sudbury Board of Education. Nono will ever be remembered for his honesty, humour and hardwork. He served his country with honour and distinction in Spain and North Africa. Serafino was always concerned for the welfare and happiness of others. His talents included gardening, championship bocce, expert card playing and an excellent ability to pick out winner at Sudbury Downs. He will be missed by all his many friends and loving family, especially his grandchildren. Beloved husband of Elvezia (Mariotti) Aloisi of Copper Cliff.
