Fleury - Honorable Jean-Jacques Fleury est décédé soudainement à sa résidence de Welland le 7 janvier, 2004 à l'âge de 59 ans. Il était l'époux de Gisèle (Deneault) Fleury. Fleury est né à Ottawa en 1944 et arriva à Welland en 1971 o? il était avocat pour 12 ans avant de devenir juge pour la ville de Welland en 1983 jusqu'en 2001. Il était impliqué dans les mouvements de Marriage Encounter et du Cursillo, membre de Cinéfest Niagara et présentement étudiant dans le programme de théologie offert par l'Université St. Paul et aussi rédacteur d'une chronique du Bulletin paroissial de l'Église du Sacré-Coeur. M. Fleury sera exposé au Salon funéraire Welland,827 rue Main Est., Welland vendredi de 2 à 4 et 7 à 9 heures. Il y aura un temps de priéres à 8 heures. COCKFIELD, Virginia Dobson Passing peacefully at the age of 82 in The Waterford Care Centre, Tsawwassen (Delta) B.C. on January 3, 2004. Virginia is predeceased by her husband, the Late Alan Stuart Cockfield and her parents Sydney and Beatrice Dobson, all of Montreal. She is survived by her brother John Dobson of Montreal, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mrs. Lois (Cockfield) Hutchison and Dr. Laurie Hutchison also of Montreal, as well as her daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Parker Knox, her granddaughters, Victoria and Alexandra Knox, all of Delta, B.C. She is also survived by her two nieces, Jane and Nancy Hutchison and her nephew Dr. Stuart Hutchison. Virginia, (Ginny) was an active member of the Royal Ottawa Golf Club, and past Lady's President of The Mount Bruno Country Club, Montreal Badminton & Squash Club (The Atwater Club), Canadian Senor Ladies Golf Association and Women's Canadian Club of Montreal. Her Numerous past Volunteer efforts included The Junior League of Canada, The Montreal General Hospital Auxiliary, The Women's Auxiliary of Christ Church Cathedral, Ottawa. BRISCO, Dr. Robert Hylton Born December 29, 1938 died peacefully January 4, 2004. Predeceased by his parents, George and Olive Brisco and sister Stephanie Gustafson. Survived by his loving wife Sheila, son Jason, (Lina), and grandson Gabriel. Also by his nephew Gary Gustafson Jr., his cousins Jim (Fran) Baker, Bill (Norma) Baker and Eleanor (Baker) Macy. A chiropractor by profession, Bob represented the Kootenay West Riding as a Federal Member of Parliament for 10 years. Most recently he sat as a Judge on the Refugee Board of Canada. As well as three professions in his lifetime, Bob supported Chiropractic being V.P. and President of the B.C. Chiropractic Association, V.P. of the Canadian Chiropractic Association, and is a lifetime Member of Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. He was a Mason, he served on the executive of three service clubs - Rotary, Kiwanis and Lions in various cities in which he lived. His community involvement also included Chairman of the United Way on two occasions, Chairman of the Castlegar Art Gallery and museum, President of the Delta Lacrosse Minor League Association. He was involved in every facet of the community, in which he lived, not as an observer but as a committed worker. Founding Member of the Trail/Castlegar Sports Car Club, he participated in the Shell 4000 Cross Canada Rally on two occasions. Recipient of the Governor General's Award in 1992. Bob lived to help others and his unparalleled love, kindness and compassion touched all who knew him. His loving family and his many friends and colleagues will sorely miss him. BUCHANAN, Marguerite On Monday, January 5, 2004 in her ninetieth year at The Edinburgh Retirement Home. Predeceased by her husband of 60 years William (Bill) Buchanan. Loving mother of Lillian (Paul Gorecki), James (Cheryl Hanniman), Heather (Ray Werry) and Enid (Pat O'Malley). Born in Regina, Saskatchewan on September 25th, 1898, she was the youngest daughter of the Late Senator James Hamilton Ross of London, Ontario, and Barbara Elizabeth (McKay) Ross of Tyron, Prince Edward Island. Barbara was very active in the Antiapartheid movement in South Africa and deeply involved with social justice and the environment. She is survived by six daughters; Pamela Roberts of Perth, Australia, Joan Trompeter of Durban, South Africa, Virginia (Peter) Ross of Cape Town, South Africa, Ann Andrews of Saint John, New Brunswick, Katherine (John) Hooper of Hampton, New Brunswick, and Elizabeth (John Platt) Furse of Hillsboro, Oregon, U.S.A. and by thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. ANDERSON, GORDON PRINGLE Odell, Victoria County. The family of the late Gordon Pringle Anderson regrets to announce his passing at home on January 6, 2004. Born in Upper Kintore, Victoria County, June 24, 1914, he was the son of the late George and Emily (Meadows) Anderson. He owned and operated a farm in Odell and in later years worked as a mill-wright in the community until his retirement. He was a life long member of the United Church of Canada. He is survived by daughters Jackie (Eugene) Hill of Fredericton; Donna (Craig) Condon of Porters Lake, NS; and Alice (Daryl) DeMerchant of Fredericton; sister Alice Knight of Watertown, Connecticut; brother George of Debec, NB. He was loved by granddaughters Linda Hill, Stefanie and great granddaughter Jessica Oldreive; grandsons Michael and Andrew DeMerchant. LOWE, Pauline Lillian (nee Berge), Pauline passed away peacefully on January 7, 2004 at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 79 years old. Pauline was predeceased by her loving husband John in September 2003 a nd parents Magnhild and Paul Berge, brothers Harold and Norman and sister Louise. Left to mourn her passing are her children Susanne (Ken) McGill of Winnipeg, Randy (Lorri Evans) of Peterborough, Darrell of St. Catharines, and Cindy Lowe (Rob Epp) of St. Catharines and grandchildren Shannon and Shawna McGill, Donovan Lowe, Ryan, Cameron and Brandon Green, sister Marie McNulty, brothers Rob and Art Berge and many nieces and nephews. Pauline was born on May 10, 1924 in St. Catharines where she has lived her entire life. Pauline served in the Canadian Womens Army Corp. during the war and then worked at Thompson Products. Pauline married the love of her life John in 1946 and they just celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary July 2003. Pauline devoted her life to her husband John and her four children. She loved her home and was a very loving mother and a meticulous homemaker. There was always an open door for the many family and friends who often filled the kitchen and whose company was one of her greatest pleasures. Pauline loved to shop and spent many happy hours bargain hunting with her sister Marie, and going out for lunch. The family would like to thank all the dedicated and loving staff who cared for her so well. To Dr. Hartma n a special thanks and to the nurses Jan and Carolyn and to all the wonderful caregivers who have made it possible for Mom to spend her last days in the comfort of her home, especially Laia, Kim, Margaret Jane and Lori and to Cathy from Hospice Niaga ra. Nora was born in Midway, Albert County on March 7, 1908, the daughter of the late Holmes and Susan (Huckins) Tingley. She was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of the Hopewell Hill Baptist Church. Nora took great pride in raising her family and cherished all the times spent with them. She was a very special lady who always had a smile for everyone. She was a very caring, gentle and kind person who will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Born in La Montain, she was the daughter of the late Oscar LeBlanc and the late Sara Leger. She is survived by one daughter Julia (Gerard) Gallant of Dieppe; two sons, Raymond (Jeanne) LeBlanc of Memramcook and Laurie (Anna) LeBlanc of Memramcook Lake; four sisters, Anise (late Gerard) Charron of Hartford, Conn, Lucille (late Frank) Bourque of St-Joseph, Marguerite (late Amedee) Boudreau of Waltham, Mass, Euphimie (late Stanley) Brideau of Dartmouth, NS; two brothers, Reginald (Corinne) LeBlanc of St-Joseph and Adolphe (Geraldine) LeBlanc of La Montain; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Jude in 1997; two sisters Juliette and Marie; one brother Jules and one grandchild Luc in 1995. Resting at Dupuis Funeral Home with visitation on Friday January 9 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Saturday January 10 from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Mckinnon, Marie, Published: 01/09/2004 MCKINNON_Marie ""Agnes"" McKinnon, (nee Deschene) late of Regina, SK passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness, on January 6, 2004 at the age of 72 years. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Marie is survived by her two sons Greg and Mark. She is also survived by brothers, sisters, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2004 at 2:00 pm, in the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK., with Pastor Henry Friesen officiating. MORIN, Elphege Charles Joseph On January 7, 2004, Elphege Charles Joseph Morin of Edmonton passed away at the age of 96 years. Elphege is survived by his loving wife, Berthe; one daughter, Agnes Morin Fecteau and son-in-law, Serge Fecteau; two grandchildren, Martin and Mathieu; three brothers, Leonard, Rosario and Wilfred "Bill"; four sisters, Marianne Johnson, Florence Fournier, Alfreda L'Heureux and Emilienne "Mimi" Cote; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. The Family wishes to extend its sincere gratitude to all of the devoted staff of 12Y at the Edmonton General. Prayers will be held at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home on Friday, January 9, 2004, at 7:00 p.m. Reverend Jacques Johnson, OMI and Reverend Andre Vincelette, OMI will concelebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joachim Catholic Church, 9928 - 110 Street on Saturday, January 10, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
