Nora Comeau 1959-2003 SHEDIAC, NB - Nora Comeau, 44, of Grand Pré St., Shediac passed away suddenly on Friday, November 21, 2003 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton. Born February 24, 1959 in Shediac, she was the daughter of Doris Léger and the late Rodolphe Comeau. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Branch #33 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Shediac. She is survived by her mother Doris (Léger) Comeau of Shediac; her common-in-law husband Bertrand Caissie; a daughter Lise Comeau and a granddaughter Kathlen of Petitcodiac; a sister Odette Comeau (John LeBlanc) of Shediac; a brother Marcel Comeau (Thérèse) of Grande-Digue; a nephew Jonathan and a niece Stephanie. BIGNEY Peacefully at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Friday, November 21, 2003. Charles Joseph Bigney of Tillsonburg, formerly of Long Sault, Ontario; in his 80th year. Born in River Herbert Nova Scotia, on November 24, 1923. Dear son of the late Charles Bigney and the late former Florence Babin. Mr. Bigney has been a resident of Hickory Hills for the past four years and a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Tillsonburg. He was a former president of Ex-Lax Ltd., Montreal, retiring in 1982 and a former Knights of Columbus member in Long Sault, Ontario. Much loved husband of 55 years of Mary (McDevitt) Bigney. Dear father and father-in-law of Linda and Wayne Gibbons, Oakville; Bruce and Gabrielle Bigney, Kitchener; Bryan Bigney, Toronto; Debbie and Ian Johnston, Kelowna, B.C. MILDRED LILIAN POTTER Mrs. Mildred Lilian Potter, 96, a resident of Grandview Lodge in Thunder Bay, Ont., passed away there Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003. Born in Barwick, Ont., Lilian was raised on the family farm and lived there until she married Oliver Potter on Sept. 28, 1929. They moved to Shenston Township, where together they farmed for many years. In 1958, they moved to Kakabeka Falls, Ont. and in 1959 on to Fort William, Ont., where she has since resided. Lilian was a life member of the Women’s Institute and, in her younger years, enjoyed sewing for her family, doing crafts, and caring for her flowers in the garden. As time passed, she remained very active and was involved with the Day Care at St. Joseph’s Heritage, the Herb Carroll Day Centre, and the Golden Agers. She enjoyed disking, and always enjoyed socializing and being around people. Lilian is survived by her children, Isabelle Kempf (Joe O’Hara) of Port Hope, Ont., Ron and wife, Margaret of Thunder Bay, Ont., Mildred Bedard of Fort Frances, Ont., Lucille Alderson and husband, Jack of North Bay, Ont., and Dorothy Playle and husband, Bill, of Thunder Bay, Ont. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives. She was predeceased by her parents, Isaac and Sarah Fearon; husband, Oliver; two sisters, Alice McKenzie and Beatrice Kilpatrick; two brothers, Henry Fearon and her twin, Charles Fearon; and two sons-in-law, Martin Kempf and Gerard “Jerry” Bedard. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Blake Funeral Chapel Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Jack White of Broadway United Church officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Garden. If friends desire, in memoriams to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Lilian Potter in the Blake Funeral Chapel Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. The annual dedication service is slated for Sunday, June 27, 2004.

Retias Wheaton 1937-2003 SACKVILLE, N.B.- Retias Wheaton, age 66, of Sackville, N.B., passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2003 at the Moncton City Hospital, Moncton, N.B. Born in Midgic, N.B. on March 25, 1937, he was the son of Merley and Ethel (Phinney) Wheaton. Retias loved to farm, play guitar and sing and was a true family man. He was a bus driver for thirty years with School District #2. Retias will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 48 years, Madelyn (Crossman) Wheaton of Sackville, N.B.; one daughter Kathy (Gerald) Nash of Leicester, N.S.; four sons Tony (Carol) Wheaton of Sackville, N.B., Danny (Lois) Wheaton of Sackville, N.B., Randy (Wanda) Wheaton of Bedford, N.S. and Jody (Cindy) Wheaton of Sackville, N.B.; two brothers Clarence (Betty) Wheaton of Midgic, N.B. and Floyd (Diane) of Midgic, N.B.; three sisters, Geneva Crossman of Sackville, N.B., Nita Boudreau of Amherst, N.S. and Cassie (Ernie) Harper of Sackville, N.B.; 14 grandchildren, Ashley, Renee, Kyle, Mark, Katie, Anthony, Amy, Laura, Travis, Evan, Katelyn, Noah, Jessie and Jenna; one great grandson Brody; sister in law, Gertrude Wheaton of Midgic, N.B. and several nieces and nephews. Mabel Arsenault 1932 - 2003 Mrs. Mabel Arsenault, 71, of Villa du Repos, passed away on November 21, 2003, at her residence. Born in Moncton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and the late Ida (née: Williams) Myers. She was a volunteer knitter and crocheter for both the Moncton and Dumont Hospital. She is survived by four daughters, Jeannette (Alfred) Caissie of Shediac Bridge, Lorainne (Jean-Guy) Babineau of Boundary Creek, Anna (late Ken) Matchett and Joanne (Peter) Beers, both of Moncton; one son, Michel (Jeremy) of Toronto; four sisters, Dot Myers, Florence Mills, Lorette Lirette, all of Moncton and Dora Ouimet of Montreal; four brothers, Ernest (Sylvia) Myers, Gerry (late Bernice) Myers, Len (Huberte) Myers, Leo (Rita) Myers, all of Moncton; one sister-in-law, Hélène Myers of Cocagne; five grandchildren, Luc, Lyne, Lisa, Daniel and Nadia; one great granddaughter, Samantha and also by several nieces and nephews. BROWN, HELEN E. - It is with great sadness that the family wishes to announce the passing of Helen Elizabeth (Mudge) Brown in her 93rd year of Fairvale, NB, eldest daughter of the late James & Mary (Brawley) Mudge, unexpectedly and peacefully on November, 21st, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Helen was predeceased by her husband John M. Brown; her son Gerard Brown (Riverview) and her grandson Stephen Gerard Brown (Moncton). She is survived by her daughter: Marie (Grant) Traill of Langley, B.C.; Jeannie Janes of Fairvale; Judy (Alan) Friars of Fairvale; Kathy (Ivan) Ho of Quispamsis and "special" daughter-in-law Barb (Keating) Brown of Riverview, NB. Helen was loved and will be remembered by her eleven grandchildren and her cherished fifteen great grandchildren. Helen is survived by her loving brother Vincent (Helen) Mudge of Saint John, her devoted two sisters, Kathleen McLaughlin of London, Ont, and Madelon Peters of Fredericton, NB, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews; many faithful and cherished friends especially her life long friend Mary Dolan. Helen was a graduate of St. Vincent High School and recently celebrated her 75th anniversary. She was a life member and past president of the C.W.L. of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Rothesay, NB. She was an avid bingo player and loved to travel, of which she did plenty. John R. Brace 1905 - 2003 The death of John R. Brace, 98 years, husband of Ethel (McPhee) of Riverview occurred surrounded by family at the Veteran's Health Center on Friday November 21, 2003. Born August 23, 1905 in Harcourt, he was the son of George and Emily (Livingston) Brace. John was a veteran of the Second World War serving overseas with the Canadian Armed Forces. He was a 40 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Moncton Branch #6 and he retired from Swifts Canada Ltd after 30 years of dedicated service. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ethel (McPhee); one son, Arthur (Joan); one daughter, Beverlie Frappier (Gerald); his brother, Herbert; four grandchildren, Karen Dauphinee, Kent Brace, Suzanne Richard and Angela Trueman; two great grandchildren, Ashley and Michael as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Sherman and Harry, his sisters, Anna Steeves and Hazel Warren. CLUFF, FLORENCE GRAY GIBSON Florence Gray Gibson Cluff passed away in her 90th year on November 19 at the Woodstock Hospital. She was the daughter of the late William A. Gibson and Jessie E. (Gray) Gibson and the widow of Hollis V. Cluff. Survived by her niece Beverley Gibson Richardson (Paul) of Kanata, Ontario, four great nieces and three great nephews. Her sister Janie R. Anderson, brother Howard E. Gibson, nephews Clinton Gibson and Richard Gibson, and two great nephews pre-deceased her. Florence was a graduate of Woodstock High School and the New Brunswick Normal School. She started her teaching career at the age of 19 and taught in several areas in New Brunswick, followed by 12 years in British Columbia where she retired after 47 years in a profession she loved. On retirement, Florence and Hollis returned to Jacksonville, New Brunswick. After Hollis's death in 1986, she was one of the original residents at Windsor Court in Fredericton which was her home for 13 years. During the past few months, she was a resident of Carleton Manor in Woodstock.. Many thanks to the staff at Windsor Court, Carleton Manor, Chalmers Hospital, Minto River Valley Health Centre and the Woodstock Hospital for the care given to her. Also for the passionate care of Dr. Mutrie and Dr. K. Srinivosan. Florence was the adopted mother and grandmother at the home of Marg and Keith Allen where she enjoyed many special times. She was a member of Wilmot Street United Church in Fredericton, Order of Eastern Star Celestial Chapter # 3 and the NB Retired Teachers' Association. A memorial service will be held at The Culberson Funeral Chapel, 188 Connell Street, Woodstock, at 11:00 a.m. on November 29, 2003 with visitation prior to the service. A private interment will follow at Jacksonville United Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rotary Camp or charity of choice. DELVECCHIO, Joseph, Peacefully at the Hotel Dieu Hospital on Thursday, November 20, 2003 in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Jean for 60 years. Loving father of Gloria and her husband John Davis, Robert, George and his wife Debbie, Nancy Delvecchio and Trevor Morris, and Tony. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and his brother Llew. Predeceased by his sisters Margaret and Jessie and his brothers George, Tom and Wilfred. Joe was a veteran of W.W.II serving with the H ighland Light Infantry overseas, was a member of the St. Catharines Old Boys Lacrosse, and was a volunteer fire fighter with the Grantham Township. Cremation has taken place followed by a private family service. MORIN, Lucien (1928 - 2003) - It is with sadness that the family announces his passing at the Au Château Home for the Aged, on November 20, 2003. Beloved husband of Cécile (née Desroches). Cherished father of Suzanne (Denis Leblanc) Toronto, Michel (Star), Brampton. Irène (Marcel Rancourt), Sudbury, Jeannine (friend Patrick Guimond), Claude (Suzanne) and Daniel, all of Sturgeon Falls. Predeceased by his daughter, Denise and a brother, Albert. Will be sadly missed by his 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
