Passed away in Ottawa on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at the age of 84. Predeceased by his wife of 59 years. Sibbeltje (Sylvia) Dijkstra. He was born on February 9, 1919 in Langezwaag, Fryslan, the Netherlands. He immigrated to Canada with his family in 1950. After first living in the Belleville area he was a resident of Matilda Township for 44 years from 1958-2002. Father of Klaas (Patricia) of Aylmer, Durk (Anne) of Iroquois, Reny (Douglas Hall) of Sardis, B.C., Neil (Diane) of Barrhead, Alta., and Jack (Lina) of Osgoode; grandfather of Rodney (Mary), Trevor (Susan), Mark (Judith), Julie, Clinton, Michael, Craig, Lisa, Erik, Karen and Amanda; great-grandfather of Heather, Emily and Curtis; brother of Grietje Krikke. Predeceased by his children, Grietje and Gerard, his parents Klaas Bijlsma and Reinschje van der Meer; his sisters Antje and Maaike. He will be remembered by his nephews and nieces and their families in the Netherlands and Canada. Elle était fille de feu Alyre Robichaud et de feu Amanda Bourque. Elle laisse dans le deuil une fille, Marie-Thérèse Cohen (Samuel) de Moncton; un fils, Théodore (Adrienne) de Renauds Mills; quatre soeurs: Alberta Goguen de Moncton, Yvette Maillet (Arthur) de Hartford, Conn., Thérèse Albert (André) de Rexton et Evangeline Brown de Montréal, ainsi que cinq petits-enfants et plusieurs neveux et nièces. Une soeur, Apolline, ainsi qu’un frère, Louis Adolphe, l’ont précédée dans la tombe. Mme Langis était une ancienne membre du Beauséjour Ladies Curling Club, membre du groupe organisateur pour le Pays de la Sagouine, directrice du Musée de Kent, Bouctouche pendant de nombreuses années et membre de la Société de l’habitation de Saint-Antoine. Il n’y aura pas de visites au salon funéraire. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Antoine-l’Ermite de Saint-Antoine-de-Kent, le lundi 24 novembre, à 11h. Winston "Calvin" Leith Born in Lansdowne, Ontario June 18, 1924, Calvin Leith of R.R. #2 Mallorytown passed away suddenly on October 29, 2003 at Kingston General Hospital. He is survived by his wife Barbara (Genge) Leith, daughter Katherine Lake, hus band Robert of Richmond Hill, son Cameron Leith, wife Julianne of Conestogo, grandchildren Timothy and Carolyn Lake and Taylor Leith. Predeceased by his parents Reginald and Edna (McKay) Leith, sisters Frances Cockerline and Carol Davidson. Calvin, a n active and lifelong member of Lansdowne United Church, served as steward, elder, and official board chairman. A member of the Union Cemetery Board, he served as president. He grew up on a dairy farm on Eden Grove Road, which he owned and operated u ntil his retirement in 1976. His interest in carpentry work led him to building and finishing houses in the area. He was also a fine cabinet maker and an avid gardener. He will be remembered for his keen sense of humour and "his ability to fix just a bout anything". LAVIGNE, Sister Leonie, S.P. Sister Leonie Lavigne, S.P. passed away at Providence Centre Infirmary, Edmonton, Alberta on November 19, 2003 at the age of 94. She leaves to mourn her loss the members of her religious community, and her brothers; Gerry (Kaye), John (Loretta) and Paul (Rita) Lavigne and her sister-in-law Ardella Lavigne and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Henri and Maximilienne, four brothers: Romeo, Anthony, Father Norbert and Allan and four sisters: Marie, Emêmerentienne, Iola Lavigne and Marguerite Klug. Prayers will be held at Providence Centre on November 23, 2003 at 7:00 p.m., and a Mass of Christian burial will be held in the Providence Centre Chapel, 3005-119 Street, at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2003. GREENFIELD, HENK - March 25, 1923 - November 20, 2003 born to Hendrik Groeneveld and Johanna (Faber) in Wildervank, Nederlanden (Holland). He came to Canada and Homesteaded with his parents in Northern Saskatchewan in 1926. He later moved to Toronto in his teens where he became for the rest of his life a follower of his Lord and King, Creator of Heaven and Earth, Jesus the Christ, Son of Almighty God. Henk pursued his life as a Christian while becoming a husband to Merle Otis of Bloomfield, N.B. on November 7, 1942 and served his country Canada by enlisting in WWII (October 26, 1943). His medals and decorations for service as a trooper included the France and German Star, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp and War Medal 1939-1945. Hank was a good father to a surviving beautiful girl Ruth Joan Greenfield born February 22, 1944 and a ram bunches son Paul Melbourne Greenfield born June 25, 1949. He had a brother Bill and sister Joan deceased and is survived by a close younger brother John Groeneveld and half brother Lyle Arnold. Henk worked for many years as a Precision Tool Maker and later as an employee of his brother John with Raceway Feeds. Most of his last years (30) were spent in New Brunswick in Dipper Harbour and Norton where he was enjoyed by friends, neighbours, relatives and members of local churches where he served. He is also survived by his three grandchildren Joshua and David Greenfield, Paula and her husband Joseph Viani along with his three great grandchildren Sonia, Vinicio and Michael Viani. Resting at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton. The funeral will be held Sunday, 2:00 pm, at Norton Wesleyan Church with Rev. Harold D. Bubar officiating. DEMERS, Roger 1919-2003 Le 12 novembre dernier, à l'âge de 84 ans, est décédé monsieur Roger Demers, époux de Hélène Ducharme de Mont-Laurier. M. BERTRAND RANCOURT âgé de 75 ans, est décédé paisiblement à la maison, entouré de sa famille, après une longue bataille contre le cancer. Il était l'époux de Noëlla Francoeur. La messe des funérailles sera célébrée en l'église St-Pierre de Fort-Coulonge, Québec, le samedi 22 novembre à 14h30 en présence des cendres.
