CHARPENTIER JESSE-Des funérailles ont lieu le 3 septembre 2003 pour Jesse Charpentier de Moonbeam, décédé le 30 août à l'Hôpital Sensenbrenner de Kapuskasing, à l'âge de 6 ans des suites d'un accident. Né à Timmins le 14 février 1997, il fréquentait l'école St-Jules de Moonbeam. Il aimait jouer au soccer, construire des légos, jouer sur son ordinateur et aider ses grands-parents à travailler en forêt. Il fut précédé dans la mort par son arrière-grand-mère Monique Sergerie. Il laisse dans le deuil ses parents Nathalie et Gilles Charpentier,une soeur : Mélissa, ses grands-parents : Marie et Ulric Charpentier, tous de Moonbeam, et Lisette Dixon de Kapuskasing et Léonce Grzela de Rockland, son arrière-grand-père Thomas Sergerie de Smooth Rock Falls, sa marraine Muriel Dagg de Moonbeam et son parrain Kenneth Dagg de Cornwall, ainsi que plusieurs tantes, oncles, cousins et cousines. C'est le père Jean-Guy Mailloux qui célébrera le service funèbre.Jesse Charpentier, 16 Chain of Lakes Road, Moonbeam, died at Sensenbrenner Hospital on Aug. 30, 2003. He was six years-old. Jesse was born in Timmins on Feb. 14, 1997 and was a student at St. Jules. He enjoyed playing soccer, playing with his trucks in the sand, building legos, four-wheeling, spending time on the computer and helping his grandparents work in the bush. Jesse was predeceased by his great grandmother Monique Sergerie. He is survived his parents Nathalie and Gilles, sister Melissa and grandparents Marie and Ulric Charpentier of Moonbeam, Lisette Dixon of Kapuskasing and Léonce Grzela of Rockland. Also surviving are great grandfather Thomas Sergerie of Smooth Rock Falls, his god mother Muriel Dagg of Moonbeam, god father Kenneth Dagg of Cornwall and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Rev. Jean-Guy Mailloux will direct the funeral service today at 10:30 a.m. at Nativité de Marie. He will be interred at the Moonbeam Cemetery.

CORRIVEAU _Olive, born January 8, 1911, passed away peacefully at the Saskatoon Convalescent Home surrounded by family on August 30, 2003. Olive was born in Naicam, SK. She attended High School in Naicam and was an avid basketball player. Following high school she attended Normal School in Moose Jaw, SK, where she obtained her teaching certificate. She taught school at a country school in the Naicam area prior to her marriage to Arthur. She became a farm wife, had six children. She was a good farm wife and was active in both the Spalding and Dovre Church communities. She enjoyed living in the country where she was born and raised close to her family and friends. She loved her garden, flowers and the solitude it afforded. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and family and belonged to bridge clubs in the community. A special thanks from the family to the Saskatoon Convalescent Home for the kindness, compassion and care given to our Mother during her time spent with them. Olive is survived by her four children, Phyllis (Ell) of Los Angeles, CA, Elaine (Gunther) of Calgary, AB, Neil (Elaine) of London, ON, Terry (Stephanie) of Calgary, AB; six grandchildren, Patricia, Danielle, Rene, Neil, Richard and Marc; three great-grandchildren, Reythe Olivia, Jessica and Danielle; sisters, Glenna, Evelyn, Helen and Audrey; along with several nieces and nephews. Olive was predeceased by her husband, Arthur; two infant sons; her parents, Gustav and Martha; sisters, Gertrude, Irene; and brother, Gordon. DOIRON, RENE CHARLES-The death of Mr. Rene Charles Doiron, of Saint John, occurred on Tuesday September 2, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born December 14, 1934 in Acadiaville Siding, NB, he was the son of the late Damien and Elodie (Robichaud) Doiron. Predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Henriette Beauregard; her husband, George; three brothers: Paul, Maurice and Daniel; and three sisters: Matilda, Rita and Dorothy; Eva is survived and lovingly remembered by her four children and their families: Fred (Susan), Jason, Jeffrey and Shane; George Jr., George III, Colleen and Chrystal; Yvette (Don) Pettigrew, Beth (Brad) Woodard and their children: Colleen, Jesse and Reece, Debbie (Tim) Gyorfi and their children: Braiden and Kaitlyn, David (Mary Beth); Vern (Charlene), Tracy (Dan) Sprague, Trevor, Timothy and Taylor. Survived also by her brother, Louis (Mary) Beauregard. Eva was employed at the Regina Grey Nuns Hospital as a Housekeeping Supervisor until she retired at the age of 65 years. Joseph Jacques Joseph Jacques Meunier, 72, Upper Arlington, Ohio died on August 27, 2003 from injuries sustained in a single-car accident near Rockford, IL., which also claimed his wife, Alom. Born May 10, 1931 in Morinville, Alberta, he received his pilot training in the Royal Canadian Air Force and proceeded to work as an Assistant Air Traffic Controller in Edmonton. He flew as First Officer with Canadian Pacific Air servicing Dew Line bases in Northern Canada. Graduating from the University of Alberta in 1962 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, he worked for Ford Motor Co. in Oshawa, Canada, then transferred to Dayton, OH. In 1967, he moved to Columbus and purchased Westgate Auto Electric. He was a respected business owner. An active member of the Experimental Aircraft Association, he built a single-seat Midget Mustang. He is predeceased by his wife, Alom; son-in-law, Jeff Hayman; parents, Alfred and Orida; brothers Jean Louis and Laurent. Survived by daughter Coreen (Bill) Jenkins; Janet Hayman, Brenda (Henry) Hauser; Grandchildren, Brad, Stefanie, Scott, Michelle, Sally and Willy. Siblings, Cecile, Marguerite, Francois, Mark, Gertrude, Madeleine and Gerard; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A private service will be held on their wedding anniversary, September 6. (August 28, 2003). With great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Brian Steven Barber. Born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, he settled in Ladner in 1971 with his loving wife Estelle. Working as a local mailman, he helped raise his two lovely children, Holly and Shawn. A lover of animals, he provided comfort for many stray cats and dogs, a tradition carried on by his children. Survived by his in-laws Leo and Rita Martell and his brother, Robert Barber with whom there are fond childhood memories; predeceased by his loving parents Elizabeth and Walter Barber. JOHN ALEXANDER LIVINGSTON Q.C. Former senior partner of the law firm, Livingston Myers of Barrie, Ontario and Spitfire pilot in World War II, died on Saturday, August 30, 2003 at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, in his 84th year from cancer. She leaves to mourn two sons Dennis of Waltham, Mass., Ron Paseat Mass. and one daughter Carol (Robert Gentile); two sisters Iona Bryant and Loretta (Ozzie) Melanson of Dieppe; grandchildren Michael & Carrie Gentile, Stephen, Jeffrey, Thomas, Lyndsey Boucher. Three grand daughters Tarra, Madeleine, LeeAnne Boucher. Predeceased by six brothers Ligoury, Ernest, Arthur, William (Bill), Valmond, and Jacob (Jake). Funeral service was held in St. Joseph Church, Watham Mass.

DOROTHY OLIVE CARRIERE (WHITEHEAD) Dorothy Olive Carriere passed away peacefully, Sunday, August 10, 2003 at the Concordia Hospital, Winnipeg, aged 73 years. Olive was born Friday, January 10, 1930 at The Pas, MB. Olive spent her childhood years on The Pas Reserve and at Elkhorn Residential School. Olive was united in marriage to Roger Joseph Carriere of Cumberland House on February 17, 1949 at The Pas. For a brief period, they lived in The Pas, Cumberland House, Turnberry and Lynn Lake before moving to Cranberry Portage in 1958, where Olive lived until she passed away. During the 1950s through to the 1970s, Olive travelled with her husband wherever he participated in Canoe Races and King Trapper Events. Olive worked hard to provide a good home and encouraged her children to pursue their education. She had a great sense of humour, and was always sharing her wisdom with others. Her love of life made people feel loved and accepted. She became the "Kookum" of many people who loved and respected her for all her wonderful qualities. Olive enjoyed her Bingo with her "Bingo Buddies" Theresa Schell, Marie Bouvier and George Brightnose. She often volunteered for local Manitoba Metis Federation community events. Her love for her husband, family, relatives and friends is something each and every one of us will forever cherish. Olive will be dearly missed and will be forever in our hearts. Olive is survived by her husband Roger Carriere Sr.; her children, Leonard, Bev (Kevin), Gail, Marlene, Elaine, Roger Jr. (Sherri), Brenda; grandchildren, David (Mel), Chasity (Chris), Charmaine, Roger, Geoffrey, Blair (Val), Jeremy, Curtis, Mark, Ashley, Robyn, Raven, Caitlan; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Tynan, Tyesha, Vanessa, Justice, Payton, Jayde, Darcy, Alden, Harmony; sister Jessie (Joe) Sinclair; brother John Charles Whitehead; and baby sister Joslin Jackson. Olive was predeceased by her son Clarence; parents, Charolette and Isaiah Whitehead; brothers, Peter and Bruce; sister Lillian Spence; great-granddaughter Karly; uncle John Young; cousins, Stan, Ella, Helen and Charles Young; brothers-in-law, Wilfred Spence, Pierre, Alphonse, William, Jim Jonas, Isadore Carriere and Hilliard McKenzie; sisters-in-law, Myrtle, Jessie Whitehead, Veronica Goulet and Agnes Carriere. A wake service was held Wednesday, August 13, at the Church of Redeemer, Opaskwayak Cree Nation, MB. The funeral service was held Thursday, August 14, 2:00 p.m., at the Church of Redeemer, Opaskwayak Cree Nation, with Rev. Gloria Lavallee presiding, assisted by Rev. Jim Sayese. Scripture Readings: Janice Yakiwchuk, Frank J. Whitehead. Music Ministry: Diana Delaronde, Kevin Kapay. Eulogies were given by niece Maureen Brown, and nephew Gerald Morin. The pallbearers were David, Roger, Curtis, Geoffrey, Blair, Mark, and Jeremy Carriere. The honorary pallbearers were John Whitehead, Theresa Schell, Marie Bouvier, Mabel Cooper, Margaret Garay, Margaret Ballard, and Dorothy Sanderson. Imêmediately following this funeral service, a reception was held at the Church of Redeemer Parish Hall. A service of remembrance was held Saturday, August 16, 11:00 a.m., at the Frontier Collegiate Gymnasium, Cranberry Portage, MB, with Rev. Gloria Lavallee presiding. Imêmediately following this service of remembrance, a reception was held at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall, Cranberry Portage. When I asked Olive to marry me, in front of the in-laws, I promised to take care of her and support her until death do we part. Now, my job is finished but sooner than I expected. I want to thank my wife for taking care of our seven children, for providing a good clean home and cooking for me all of our 54 years together. At times, there was hardship but we kept our marriage vows and our family together. My wife talked about how happy she was that she lived to see her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed sharing stories with her grandchildren. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. My wife always kept up her sense of humour. About a month and a half ago, when my wife's tongue was getting a bit sharp, I would remind her to respect her elders. She enjoyed joking around with anyone. I want to thank the Whitehead family for accepting me as part of their family all of these years. Thank you to our many relatives and friends for their kind support during this difficult time.
