(MATHESON) Peacefully in hospital on Monday, June 2, 2003 at age 93. She was one of 8 children raised in Edmundston, N.B. Her high school years were spent at Netherwood Girl's School near St. John. After moving to Ottawa in 1939, she worked for the government and later met her husband George. She is survived by brothers Bill (Kaye) and Bernie (Myrna) and sisters Alice (Burns) and Rachael (Reg). Predeceased by brothers John (Germaine), George (Gilberte) and Gordon (Kay). The family wishes to thank the staff and residents of the Kanata Care Retirement Centre for their kindness. You are wonderful people. Also a special thanks to the staff at the Queensway Carleton Hospital, 3rd floor. A private service will be held at a later date.

Sadly missed by her sons Brian and his wife Heather of R.R. #3, Arthur, and Lloyd and his wife Rosanne of Oshawa. Also missed by her grandchildren, Andrew (Christine) of Winnipeg, Korry (Maureen) of Oshawa and David (Sarah) of Oshawa. Remembered by her sister Joyce Hart of Kitchener, and her brother George Korry of Perth. Predeceased by her parents, her husband Harold and her sister Orpha. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. from Calvin United Church, Bathurst (Perth, Ontario). (Sister M. Honora) Sister Ann Miller died suddenly at the North Bay General Hospital on Thursday, June 5, 2003. Born in Renfrew on July 31, 1944, Sister Ann entered The Sisters of St. Joseph of Sault Ste. Marie in North Bay, September 1962. A graduate of Lakehead University, Faculty of Education, she taught elementary school in North Bay and Nipigon. She later pursued doctoral studies in anthropology at McMaster University, taught undergraduate students and was employed as a research associate in Toronto and Hamilton. Most recently, she was a research associate and editor in Ottawa where she was living and working. A life-long learner, Sister Ann enjoyed many intellectual activities including the study of cultures, visits to art galleries and museums. She was a gracious hostess to many who were visiting the Ottawa area and enjoyed sharing with them the beauty of the National Capital Region. She had a great love of the Congregation and was a very active member of the Vocation Committee. Her great compassion for the frail elderly was learned as she cared for her mother prior to her death. Her quiet wisdom will be missed by all those she knew but especially her twin brother, Dan, a priest in the Pembroke Diocese, and her cousins, Sister Sharon Miller, also a Sister of St. Joseph of Sault Ste. Marie presently residing in Pickering, and Jean Nicholson and her husband Gerry of Sudbury. The body of Sister Ann Miller will be received in the Holy Family Chapel of St. Joseph's Motherhouse, North Bay on Sunday, June 8, 2003 (Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m.) The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Chapel, St. Joseph's Motherhouse, North Bay, Monday, June 9, 2003.

1909-2003 On Wednesday, May 28, 2003, with her family by her side, Onie Leyden Clubb, passed away at the age of 93 in Winnipeg. Born in Winnipeg, Onie was the second child of George Patrick and Mary Jane Leyden originally from Ottawa. She attended St. Mary's School and St. Mary's Academy taking top honours in the commercial course program. As a young woman she played tennis, bowled, danced and ice and roller skated. She married pharmacist John Clubb in 1942 and had five children. In 1948 they moved to Warsaw Avenue which for the next 50 years became a remarkable community of support and friendship. Onie was always busy helping with homework, sewing dance and singing costumes, driving the girls and their friends to choir, swimming, Guides and camp. She devoted many hours to the Womens Pharmacy Auxiliary and the Catholic Womens League. Her many interests included bridge, bowling, knitting, needlepoint and jumble contests. She spent every sumêmer at the family cottage at Grand Beach. In 1999 Onie moved to the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg where she received wonderful care from the dedicated staff who also became her friends. Onie leaves behind her four daughters and their families: Barbara (Kevin Burns) of Ottawa, Pat (David McPherson) and Susan (Tom Pundyk) in Winnipeg and Carole of North Vancouver; four beloved grandchildren Katie, Malcolm, Madeleine and Jeffrey; her brother Don (Rita); many nieces and nephews and their families; her faithful friend Peggy Gardiner as well as many life-long friends in the Warsaw Ave. and Grand Beach communities. Onie was predeceased by her infant son Jimmy, husband John, brother Phonse, sister Roma and brother-in-law Wally Alexander. A funeral mass was celebrated on June 2, 2003 at St. Ignatius Church, Winnipeg. donations may be made to the St. Mary's Academy Bursary Fund, 550 Wellington Cres., Winnipeg, MB, R3M 0C1 or a charity of choice.

Born at Ospringe, Ontario, near Guelph, and raised at Prelate, Saskatchewan. After marrying in 1935, moved to Montreal where Howard became Manager of the Bank of Montreal, Bank Premises Department. Retired in London, in 1960. As a remembrance, Myrtle would have been pleased if several acts of kindness, understanding and tolerance for others, were performed in her name. A memorial service will take place at Riverside United Church, London, Ontario, at 4 p.m., on Sunday, June 15.

She was a member of the Bedford Baptist Church and participated in the church sewing circle. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, preserving, crafts and gardening in her flower garden. She will be missed by her family and many friends. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Karen Belfountain, Lawrencetown; sons, Ken, Kentville; Francois Bellefontaine, Montreal; grandchildren, Nicole and Matthew Ligon, Lawrencetown; sister, Mary McCollow, Simcoe, Ont.; brothers, Alden Coldwell, Gaspereau; Lloyd Coldwell, Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil; sister, Muriel Johnson; half-sisters, Martha Strong, Vera Davison; half-brother, Ralph Coldwell. JOYCE FRENETTE (nee POLOS) 1928-2003 In the early hours of June 6, 2003, Joyce passed away, peace-fully, at the Palliative Care Unit, St. Boniface General Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her husband Rene (Ernie); as well as her sisters, Pearl, Eleanor, Marjorie; her brother Walter; her sisters-in-law, Jacqueline, Louisette; brothers-in-law, Gerard, Phillipe, Arsene, and Raymond. Joyce was a very sensitive, loyal, and caring person, who will be dearly missed by her daughters, Sue Law (Gil) and Renee Martin (Tim); grandsons, Craig and Brent; brother-in-law Tom Betle; sisters-in-law, Agathe and Yvette; nephew Ken Betle; many nieces and nephews in Quebec; along with many friends in Winnipeg and around the world. Born in Florenceville, NB, October 13, 1905, she lived most of her life in Fredericton, NB, except for 1934-1943 in Ottawa. She was greatly involved in the community as well as her extended family and spent most of her working life with the New Brunswick Association of Registered Nurses. She leaves many close friends and fond memories. In 1999 she left her life and friends in NB and moved to Ottawa to be near her imêmediate family. Some of her new friends were the wonderful caring staff and nurses at the Glebe Centre and Verna Wendt her companion for the last 3 years. Many, many thanks! Cremation. JANISSE, Rev. John B., C.S.B. Peacefully after a lengthy illness, on Monday, May 12th, 2003 at Providence Centre, Scarborough at 77 years of age. Cherished son of the late George Janisse and Louise Genest. Loving brother of Sister Marie Louise Janisse, O.S.U. and Father Rolland Janisse, C.S.B. and the late Vincent Janisse and Madeline Debinski. Dearest brother-in-law of Jeanne Janisse and John Debinski and the late Doris Janisse. Lovingly remembered by all his nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews. Father John attended Assumption High School and College in Windsor, making his first profession of vows in the Congregation of St. Basil in 1946. He was ordained in 1952 and after studies in Library Science received a Master's Degree from the University of Michigan. He became librarian of several Universities, retiring after 30 years when he became the Chaplain at St. Vincent's Hospital in Vancouver. After surviving a stroke in 1987 he resided at the Basilian Fathers' Residence in Toronto. BACHERT-LATHBY, Cole Ryan, Cole left suddenly but peacefully on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at home in his bed at almost 4 years of age. "Best buddy" of his daddy Craig and his mommy Beth Ann; loving big brother of Jade, she will miss his kisses and hugs; beloved grandson of Herbie and Effie Bachert (Grampa and Baba) of St. Catharines and Alan and Heather Lathby (Nannie and Poppie) of Perth, Western Australia; and great-grandmother Nana Trout; dear nephew to Ang and Mike Bachert, Kylie and Jason Lath by-Cook, Melissa Lathby; will be lovingly remembered by cousins Ashley (Iya), Cory, Jessie, Brodie and Roman. Cole was a member of the Play Pals Group at the Y.M.C.A. and he also attended Speech Services Niagara. Cole loved life and lived it to its f ullest. In Cole's words he was a "very lucky boy". He loved swimming, bike rides, gardening, camping and playing "I got it". He was our Circle of Life. CAMERON, Marguerite A. (nee Korry) - Peacefully at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Fergus, on Wednesday June 4, 2003, in her 83rd year. Sadly missed by her sons Brian and his wife Heather of R.R.#3 Arthur, and Lloyd and his wife Rosanne of Oshawa. WARRICK, Ruth Oddy - A resident of Mississauga died on Monday June 2, 2003 at the Village of Erin Meadows Nursing Home in Mississauga at the age of 93. Born in Toronto daughter and stepdaughter of the Late Sarah Oddy Watson and William Watson. Ruth attended School S.S. #12 & 15 at New Scotland, and graduated from Chatham Business School. She was a typist for J.T. Wing and Co. in Windsor and married a fellow employee, the late Alfred Cecil Warrick on June 7, 1930. Dear mother of Shirley R. Peterson and husband David of Mississauga; Marjorie D. Baker and husband John of Stirling and the late Dr. Dennis A. Warrick. Survived by eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Sister to Dr. Dennis W. Watson of St. Paul Minnesota U.S.A. and the late Fred, Glen, Bill Watson and Olive Fowler. Also survived by a daughter in-law Madeline Warrick and sister in-law Eleanor Schroeder. Predeceased by daughter in-law Lois Warrick.
