Mary had a long career as a teacher with the Ottawa Separate School Board and been a member of Our Lady of the Visitation and St. Theresa's Parishes. Jim was born in Woodstock, New Brunswick, graduated from Woodstock High School and played on the champion Woodstock Senators Basketball Team. He joined the Canadian Army in the Carleton York Regiment and was overseas from 1939-1945. ENGS, Sylvia Yvonne (nee Ferris), Suddenly after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness, in St. Catharines on Thursday, April 17, 2003. Born October 28, 1923 in Winnipeg. Predeceased in 2000 by her husband Philip (Bill) W. Engs. Sylvia was a wonderful, generous, caring and loving mother. She will be sadly missed by her children, Russell and Janice Engs of Cambridge, ON, Alison and Jim Rodger of New Dundee, ON, Roslyn and David Thom of Calgary, AB, Philip and Annie Engs of North Pelham, ON and her eleven grandchildren, Heather, Chandra, Alison, David, Elizabeth, Andrew, Robert, Hannah, Kelvin, Alex and Michelle. Sylvia grew up in Winnipeg. A sports enthusiast, she excelled in track and field and baseball. She also played basketball forthe cities of Winnipeg and Montreal. She was a Group Claims Manager for Great-West Life and was transferred to Montreal, where she met and married Bill in 1951. Sylvia was a longtime dedicated member of the Laurier Liberal Ladies, the Gyrette, the St. Catharines Curling Club and the Mountainview United Church U.C.W. Cremation has taken place. Il a enseigné le clavecin et l’orgue comme chargé de cours à l’université Laval et, par la suite, au département de musique du Collège de Sainte-Foy. Il fut organiste de la paroisse du Sacré-Cœur à Québec. Il a donné de nombreux concerts au Québec dans le cadre de la série Récitals d’orgue et Tribune de l’orgue de la Société Radio-Canada. 1917 2003 À Saint-Jérôme, le 15 avril 2003, est décédé à l'âge de 85 ans, le frère Robert Massé, s.j. Né à Baie-des-Sables (Matane), il exerça différents métiers et fut membre du corps médical du 22e régiment en Angleterre au cours de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il entra chez les jésuites en 1961. homme dévoué et attentif aux autres, il fut cuisinier, relieur, linger et exerça différentes fonctions au service de la communauté jésuite de Saint-Jérôme. Outre ses confrères jésuites, il laisse dans le deuil des cousins et cousines, neveux et nièces, parents et amis. Il sera exposé à la Maison des jésuites 175, boul. des Hauteurs, Saint-Jérôme le lundi 21 avril à partir de 14 h. Il y aura réunion de prières à 20 h.
