Elle était la grand-mère chérie de Michelle Cousineau, Danie Doré et Julie Landry et l'arrière grand-mère de Sophia et Nicolas. (Sister St. Mary Assumpta). Congregation of Notre Dame, passed away at Villa Marguerite, Pierrefonds, Qc. on March 6, 2003. Her parents, John Chrysostom and Flora Ann MacLellan as well as her brothers, Daniel, Peter, John, Jerome, Ronald, and Father George and her sister, Margaret, predeceased her. She will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Georgina MacCormack and her many nieces and nephews. Sister Mary taught at Villa Maria and was the President of Marianopolis College for many years. The sisters at Villa Marguerite will miss her presence and always remember her many acts of service. Ronald J. Gallant Ronald J. Gallant, 62, of Greater Lakeburn, passed away at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital on Friday, March 7, 2003 after a lengthy illness and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Moncton, son of the late Arthur and Corinne (Maillet) Gallant. Ron was a self employed painter and general handyman for many years until his illness. Avid outdoorsman, he loved to explore the countryside, also enjoyed fishing and gardening. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. WALSH, Sara "Baby Sara" Elina In loving memory of Sara "Baby Sara" Elina Walsh, 16 months old. To all those who knew her, Sara will always be remembered as a little angel whose love for life outweighed her illness. She spent her first 2 1/2 months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and was well cared for during her stay there. Sara came home and imêmediately changed our lives forever. In her own quiet way she taught us so many things such as compassion, charity, endurance, patience and especially love. She loved the simple things in life and could light up a room with her smile. Sara will be so greatly missed by her parents Aaron and Taina (Makinen) Walsh and her sister Katrina. Hélène Bourque SCOUDOUC, NB-Hélène Bourque, 95, wife of the late Alyre J. Bourque of Scoudouc passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2003 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton. Born in Cocagne, February 29, 1908, she was the daughter of the late Livain LeBlanc and the late Ozithe Richard. She was a member of the Golden Age Club in Scoudouc. She is survived by five daughters, Yvonne Bourque and Edith Cormier of Scoudouc, Lucie Arsenault (Yvon) of Shediac, Cécile Thibodeau (Martial) of Moncton, Eva Robichaud (Normand) of Dieppe; two sons, Arsène and Alvin (Emelie Bourgeois) of Scoudouc; twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Alyre J. in 1993; three sisters, Imelda, Yvonne, Emilienne and four brothers, Arthur, Hector, Léonard and Georges LeBlanc. Thomas William Storey 1919 - 2002, WWII Veteran Funeral was held recently for Thomas William Storey 83, formerly of Battersea. Thomas passed away December 26, 2002 at St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Brockville, Thomas was educated at Prince of Wales Public School and graduated from Brockville Collegiate High School. Thomas was the son of Arthur and Pearl (Capper) Storey. He was married to Eileen (Dixon) Storey on July 6, 1940. Thomas served in WWII and was stationed overseas in 1942. He served in the medical corp. He returned home in 1945 where he and wife Eileen settled in Battersea and began to raise their eight children. He worked for approximately eight years at Kingston General Hospital in the Physical Therapy Department then started working at Alcan in 1950. He retired after 30 years due to health problems. In his earlier years, Thomas enjoyed fishing on Loughborough Lake and in his spare time worked as a guide. He especially cherished the times spent at family gatherings with his children and grandchildren. He loved animals and enjoyed visits with Missy his cat who spent many hours with him at St. Mary's Hospital. His best friend was Kenny Purdham who visited him on a daily basis and kept him company. Thomas leaves five sons and three daughters: Bill, Vancouver; Beverly (Gary), Kingston; David, Vancouver; Diane (David), Gananoque; Paul (Teresa), Kingston; Donald, Nanaimo; Rodney, Fort Francais; and Nancy (Bob) Battersea. He is alsosurvived by sister Eleanor Earl of Brockville and brother Arthur Storey of Brockville and twenty-two grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Thomas was predeceased by his wife Eileen; his father and mother Arthur and Pearl Storey and twin daughters Paula and Pauline. Special thanks to the nurses, doctors and volunteers of St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital for the loving care Thomas received for his four month stay at the hospital. Thanks to the Rev. Lewis Bryant for his many visits at Thomas's bedside offering prayers and words of kindness to both Thomas and his family. To Bob for all the kindness and care he gave over the last three years. LeBRETON, LEO J.-At his residence, on Friday, March 7th, 2003, Leo J. LeBreton of the Loch Lomond Villa, formerly of Watson Street West Saint John, NB. Born in Six Roads, Gloucester Co., NB he was the son of the late Lazare (Larry) and Ensweede (Losier) LeBreton. Leo spent most of his life in Saint John working with CN Rail and Via Rail for 38 years, the last 5 years with Via as Baggage Master retiring in 1981. He also worked as a Long Shore CPR Trucker and the Saint John DryDock. His wife Margaret Kathleen predeceased him in May, 1996. He was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Left to mourn is one sister Delia Duguay of Tracadie and several nephews and nieces, sister in law Hattie LeBreton. Leo was predeceased by his sister Clara Losier and brother Arthur. Grace passed away peacefully on March 3, 2003 at the age of 95. Wife of the late John Forrest Pratt. She was the eldest child of James and Louise Parrington. Grace was predeceased by her brothers, Samuel, Edward, Robert; and her sister May. Left to mourn are her loving daughters, Barbara Provost (Eddie), Joan Aldrich (Fred), Betty Manwell (Wayne) and her son Jim Pratt (Jackie). HACHEY, Karen Elizabeth-42, Salmon River, passed away March 6, 2003, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Antigonish, she was a daughter of Harold and Priscilla (Myette) Rust, Tracadie. Karen was a devoted and loving mother, wife, sister and friend to many. She always put the needs of others before her own and touched many, many people with her kindness. She loved to beautify people with her Mary Kay Cosmetics. Karen graduated with her Child Development Services Level IV from the Institute for Human Services Education in May 1980, where she began work in September, 1980. In 1983 she became Director of the Institute's Princeport Playgroup, a position she held until its closing in 1996. In 1997, the Dr. Jane Norman Child Study Centre was opened and Karen became the Assistant Director. Miss Karen will be remembered for her caring and respect for children and their families. She is survived by her husband, Denis; son, Sheldon and daughter, Sophia, both at home; sisters, Linda (Keith) Rose, Berwick; Racheal McNeil (Tony), Eastern Passage; Paula (Wayne) Fraser, Antigonish; Cathy (Monty) MacDougall, Stellarton; brother, Terry Rust (Marion), Tracadie; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. À Okpo, Nigéria, le mercredi 19 février 2003, à l'âge de 70 ans, est décédé subi-tement le Père Charles MacKay, mission-naire de la Congrégation du Saint-Esprit, en Afrique. Fils de feu le notaire Rodolphe E. MacKay, de Verdun et de feu Marguerite Turcot, il a fait ses études classiques au Séminaire de Sainte-Thérèse et a été ordonné prêtre le 26 novembre 1957 par le Cardinal Paul-Émile Léger à sa paroisse natale, Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes de Verdun. Après une année d'études en Pastorale missionnaire à l'Université St-Paul, Ottawa, il est parti pour l'Afrique en 1959 où il a oeuvré pendant près de 45 ans dans les missions spiritaines du Nigéria. En plus de sa famille religieuse, il laisse dans le deuil ses frères et soeurs Me Paule MacKay, notaire, Rita (Charles Thébault), Patrick Reay (Madeleine Charland), Me Julien S. MacKay, notaire (Monique Lapier-re), Louise, Denis, ses neveux et nièces ainsi que de nombreux parents, amis et bienfaiteurs. L'ont prédécédé dans la mort son frère, le Père Éric MacKay, de la même congrégation, ainsi que son frère aîné Edwin (Lucille Therrien) et sa soeur Ali-ce, Infirmière OMS. HOULD, Leona Mary (nee Peters) In loving memory of Leona Mary Hould (nee Peters), 91 years who passed away Thursday, March 6th, 2003 at the Extendicare-Falconbridge Sudbury. Leona was born on June 27, 1911 in Tignish P.E.I. and came to Sudbury in the early 1930’s. It was here she met and married Irvin Hould on August 16, 1948. Leona was a well liked and respected Certified Nursing Assistant and had worked in the maternity ward of the old St. Joseph’s Hospital for many years. She loved welcoming and guiding her co-workers and was known as a mentor to many of them. Leona was also known for her hospitality and a good party at Leona’s wasn’t uncommon. Leona was a member of CUPE Local 161 during her years at St. Joseph’s. The happiest times is when she held a baby in her arms and when she was playing her harmonica. After her retirement in 1975 Leona spent her time with her flowers and was always partial to Red Geraniums, which could always be found around her home and in the garden. Leona’s love for down east music especially Don Messer and his Islanders showed in her joy and ability to play the spoons and in the tapping of her feet. Leona enjoyed a good joke and could receive as well as she gave. One of her favorite quotes was "In all the things you wear your expression is the most important" this was evident in her constant smile. Many will remember the family gatherings where there was always laughter, a joke or two or more and plenty of food. She was devoted to her loving family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Leona was a devout Roman Catholic and is now at peace with her maker, where she will be smiling down upon all those who knew and loved her. Beloved wife of Irvin J. Hould of Sudbury.
