Bigras Aurèle 1926-2003 Le 2 mars dernier est décédé monsieur Aurèle Bigras âgé de 76 ans, époux de Léonne Lacelle de Mont-Laurier. CHOUINARD, Gordon (Bob) Roland Gordon (Bob) Chouinard passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 3, 2003 at his home in Whitecourt, AB. His loving wife, Eileen; his son, David; brother, Clarence; mother, Helen and father, Gordon predeceased him. Gordon (Bob) will be forever loved and remembered by his daughter, Marlene Johansson and her children, John (Penny), Dale (Shauna), Dean, Cary (Robin), Tina (Greg) and Kris (Deanna) of High Prairie, AB; his sons, Gary (Lorrette) and their children, Karen (Wayne) of Devon, AB and Blair of Lethbridge, AB; David's children, Jason (Roxanne), Stacey, Eric and Trudy of Edmonton, AB; Paul (Jane) of Wassenarr, Netherlands, Gord (MaryAnne) and their children, Dustin, A. J. and Nicole of Whitecourt, AB, John (Celeste) of Saskatoon, SK; many great-grandchildren; his sisters, Evelyn, Lucille and Shirley (Anthony) of Paradise Hill, SK. Gordon (Bob) was born June 10, 1923 in Cleeves, SK. He was a playful lad who had many adventures in the area including stealing his brother's clothes while swimming, taking the C.P.R. push car for a ride and racing and beating the C.P.R. train on his bike. He was educated in Turtleford and later on in North Battleford, SK. Bob went to Teachers College in Saskatoon and started teaching in Red Cross where he taught his future wife and mother of his children, Eileen. He made sure he gave her a passing grade. He taught for the Province of Saskatchewan and the Department of Indian Affairs for over 40 years. His career took him to Red Cross, SK, Meadow Lake, SK, Drift Pile, AB, Poundmaker, SK, Waterhen Lake, SK and Sandy Lake, SK. He gained many close friendships along the way. He retired to Saskatoon, SK and later moved with Eileen to Mayerthorpe, AB to be closer to his three children living in Alberta. After Eileen passed away Bob moved to Whitecourt, AB. Gordon (Bob) died much too young for those of us that knew him. He was a warm, patient man with a great sense of humor who quickly gained the friendship from everyone around him. He loved woodworking, gardening, crosswords, crib, computers and being with family and friends. Gordon (Bob) was a loving man, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and neighbor. Bob will be remembered forever by all. A Celebration of Gordon's (Bob's) Life will be held Saturday, March 29 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Mayerthorpe. Father Andrew Bogdanowicz officiating. An inurnment before the service will be held at the Whitecourt Cemetery at 12:00 noon. Elle a été précédée par deux petits-fils, Luc Côté et Mario Côté. La dépouille mortelle est exposée au salon Guy O’Regan, 515, boul. Evérard Daigle à Grand-Sault. Ses funérailles auront lieu le lundi 10 mars à 16h15 en l’église Saint-Michel de Drummond, et l’inhumation au cimetière paroissial. Les heures des visites ce dimanche de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h, et ce lundi de 14h jusqu’au départ pour les funérailles. BROTHER JOHN (VIANNEY) ROY Peacefully on March 6, 2003 our brother, John passed away after a short illness. John was born in 1941 in Winnipeg. He was the oldest of five boys. At the age of 29, John joined the Trappist Monastery, located in St. Norbert. Later the Monastery was relocated to Holland, MB. John was a monk for 33 years and will be sadly missed by his religious family and his imêmediate family. John is survived by his four brothers, Paul (Brenda), Dave (Anne), Philip (Wendy), Dennis; and his eight nieces and nephews; as well as his Uncle Albert Sloan; Auntie Noreen Fleming; Auntie Pat Andre; and all his cousins. John is predeceased by his father, Joseph Napoleon and his mother Eileen Mary. Prayers will be held in Holland, MB in the chapel at the Monastery on Sunday, March 9, at 7:30 p.m. Mass will be held on Monday, March 10, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at the Monastery. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception room. A special thank you to the staff of Notre Dame de Lourdes Hospital. They were especially kind and helpful in the families absence. HAZEL VICTORIA CLINK Hazel Victoria Clink, 101, a long-time resident of the Emo Health Centre in Emo, Ont., passed away Friday, March 7, 2003. Hazel was born Oct. 10, 1901 in Chicago, Ill. to Benjamin and Rachel Hadley. The Hadley family then moved to the Barwick, Ont. area in 1902, where Hazel lived for most of her life. She was united in marriage to Gordon Earl Clink on Dec. 29, 1919. She worked as a telephone operator for Bell Canada in Barwick, and was an active member of Barwick’s First Baptist Church. Hazel also loved to write and recite poetry, and wrote and published a book of poems. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon on Nov. 5, 1955; parents, Benjamin and Rachel Hadley; daughter, Donalda Lorraine Lowe; sisters, Anna Horley and Mary Crowe; brother, Benjamin Hadley; and daughter-in-law, June Clink. Hazel will be greatly missed by her children, Joyce Evelyn Barron and husband, Norman, of Barwick, Ont., David Lyall Clink and wife, Patricia, of Kenora, Ont., William Hadley Clink and wife, Emily, of Barwick, Ont., and Donald Gordon Clink and wife, Jeannie, of Barwick, Ont.; son-in-law, John Lowe of Fort Frances, Ont.; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 13, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Chapple Community Hall, with Pastor Leslie Abbott officiating. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at the Chapple Cemetery at a later date. The pallbearers will be Gordon Clink, Troy Clink, Teph Clink, Wayne Barron, Doug Barron, and Sean Ahrens. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Barwick Community Church.

(1913 - 2003) Passed away positively and peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario on March 6, 2003. He was predeceased by his wife Olive Hindle (2001). Wes was the proud and positive captain of the cheering team for his daughter Frances Balodis and her husband Gunars Balodis. He was the son of Frank and Jennie Hindle. He was predeceased by his three sisters, Lula (Prossor), Jean (Evans) and infant sister. Grandpa will be greatly missed by Mark Balodis and Olivia and David Riddell. His nieces Jean, Beth, Mae, and Ruth and his nephews Wesley and John remember him fondly. Wes lived in three major places - the Cookstown area, Muskoka and Ottawa. He embraced opportunity and change and was an excellent entrepreneur. As an electrician, plumber and carpenter he was much appreciated in the community. Wes was a Masonic member of the Muskoka Lodge #360. He treasured music, enjoying playing the old tyme fiddle for young and old. He was intensely proud of Music for Young Children. Wes enjoyed the little children both in music classes and in the Bullfrogs & Butterflies choir. Wes had a strong, quiet Christian faith, being a big supporter of Bethesda Methodist Church, Cookstown United, St. Thomas Anglican Church in Ullswater, Ontario and Kanata United Church, Kanata Ontario. He believed strongly in encouraging children. Wes will be missed by all but he will be welcomed by Olive, his loving wife of 63 years. Visitation will be at the Kent Funeral Home Highway 27 North in Cookstown, Ontario on Saturday, March 8th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. There will be a Masonic service on Saturday March 8th at 6:30 p.m. Visitation at Cookstown United Church will be Sunday, March 9th from 2 p.m. until time of the service. The funeral will be in Cookstown United Church at 3 p.m. Following the funeral a reception will be held at the church. If you wish to make a donation in Dad's memory, you may make it to Cookstown United Church or to the Wes Hindle Memorial Fund for a scholarship for an MYC child. A service of celebration of Dad's life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2003 at 4 p.m. Kanata United Church, 33 Leacock Drive, Kanata Ontario. Thanks to our dear friends for such support Erin, Joy, Roxanne, Sue, Dianne, Mary Anne, Leanne, Merri. Praise be for such a marvelous man. He touched so many people in his life that he will live on forever.
