DUPONT - Soeur Claire Dupont (Sainte-Laure) des Soeurs de la Charité d'Ottawa, est décédée à Ottawa le 30 janvier 2003, à l'âge de 92 ans dont 64 ans de profession religieuse. Elle était la fille de feu Adam Dupont et de feu Hélène Deshaies. Née à Sainte-Flore, Québec, elle entra en religion le 20 août 1936 et fit profession le 15 juillet 1938. Outre sa famille religieuse, elle laisse dans le deuil des nièces et des neveux. La dépouille mortelle repose à la Maison mère, 9, rue Bruyère, Ottawa. La messe des funérailles sera célébrée en la chapelle de la Maison mère le samedi 1er février à 9h30, suivie de l'inhumation au cimetière Notre-Dame d'Ottawa. Sr. Dupont was the daughter of the late Adam Dupont and Hélène Deshaies. She was also predeceased by two well known Kapuskasing brothers Dr. Raymond Dupont and Dr. Maurice Dupont. The funeral was held in Ottawa on Feb. 1 with interment following at the Notre Dame Cemetery in Ottawa.

Fils de feu Émérentienne Vallée et de feu Arthur Hurteau. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Suzane Paul-Hus: ses fils, Guy (Anne), Bernard (Virginie), Louis (Shelley) et Patrick (Dwight); ses petits-enfants, Justin, Renaud, Mélanie et Orhiane; ses frères, Fernand et Robert et ses soeurs, Dolorès et Yvette. Il est prédécédé par sa soeur Marie-Paule et ses frères, Hector, Gérard et Antonio. Marcel a travaillé tour à tour pour la compagnie de Fer et Titane de Tracy (QC) ainsi que pour Énergie Atomique du Canada de Chalk River (ON). Il a donné beaucoup de son temps à la communauté francophone de Pembrook (ON). Redpath: Robert Hendry, D.C. On Friday, January 17, 2003 Robert (Harry) Redpath of Edmonton, passed away at the age of 82 years. Born in Wayne, Alberta, the "Bethlehem of the West", he practiced chiropractic in Edmonton for 41 years. He is survived by his loving family; Sara his beloved wife of 57 years, sons Bryan (Lindsay), Brett (Pat), daughter Jill, grandchildren Jamison, Harrison and Darcy, and his sister Eugenia Ingram and her daughter Candace and family. Harry took great pleasure in the simple things in life and was delighted with his three grandsons. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Unit 53 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for their care, compassion and respect. Special thanks goes to Ted Smithman for daily visits. Emile J. Perreault was born in VanKleek Hill, Ontario. He worked as Custodian at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home retiring in 2002. Emile loved the outdoors especially camping and fishing. He also enjoyed wood working. A devoted father, he was very proud of his daughters and especially his grandchildren. Emile was a kind man with a fantastic sense of humour. Sister Clare C.S.J. (Sr. Mary Desmond) Sr. Clare passed away peacefully into her eternal rest at St. Joseph's Motherhouse, Pembroke, on January 29, 2003. She was in the 68th year of her religious life. Left to mourn her loss are her Sisters in the Congregation, her sister, Patricia (Fred) Dicker of Renfrew, her brother Ed from Douglas and her many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins and friends. Sister Clare ministered as a teacher in Renfrew (for 40 years) as well as in Barry's Bay and Chapeau. She also worked in pastoral care in Regina, Saskatchewan and served in leadership in the congregation for 10 years. She was always eager to learn and better her skills in her profession. Sister was born in Douglas, Ontario, a daughter of the late Thomas Gallagher and Margaret Dourley. She is predeceased by her sisters, Maisie (Peter Bolger), Lillian, Leona (Walter Fleming) and her brothers Harold, Leonard and John. Visitation at St. Joseph's Motherhouse, Pembroke on Friday, January 31 after 3:00 p.m. Prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening. Survived by her son Paul Charbonneau his wife Lynda, two grandchildren Kristine Alexander (Edmonton, Alberta) and Michel Andre Charbonneau (Windsor) and two great-grandchildren Jessica and Kayla Alexander. Dear sister of Marie Lefebvre, Rita Bray and brother Gaetan Bray of Montreal. Survived by nieces and nephews. Cremation with interment at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Chatham, Ontario will be held at later date. Eugene R. "Gino" Gaudet SHIRLEY, MASS - Eugene R. "Gino" Gaudet, 57, of Shirley, Mass., formerly of Waltham, Mass., died unexpectedly on Sunday, January 19, 2003 at the Nashoba Valley Hospital in Ayer, Mass. Born in St. Joseph, NB, he was the son of the late Siméons and Laurianne (Landry) Gaudet. He was the husband of the late Linda (Morine) Gaudet. Eugene will be sadly missed by his daughters, Sandra A. St. Onge and her husband Kevin of Shirley, Mass. and Gina M. Smith of Pepperell, Mass; sisters, Geraldine Davidson and her husband Sidney of Rhode Island, and Betty McLenna and her husband Frank of Hudson, Mass; brothers, George Gaudet of Waltham, Mass. and Edgar Gaudet and his wife Andréa of Memramcook, NB; three grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Moss: Lucienne 1919 - 2003. Mrs. Lucienne (Lucy) Moss passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital on January 2, 2003 at the age of 83 years. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Anthony s Roman Catholic Church in Drumheller, on January 7, 2003. Lucy was born in Mons, Belgium in 1919 to Marie and Jules Laurent and immigrated with her parents to Drumheller in 1921. She was predeceased by her husband Michael Moss. She is lovingly remembered by her two sons Nolan Moss, living in the United States, and Brent (Marilyn) Moss of Carstairs, Alberta. Two grandsons Chris (Michele) Moss of Airdrie, Alberta; Shane (Myra) Moss and great grandson Kiran of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, South America. Growing up in Newcastle she enjoyed many a game of hockey and baseball with her cousins. She was usually the goalie and had the scars to prove it. She continued to be a sports fan through out her life. The Moss family moved to Castor in 1942 and lived there for 15 years returning to Drumheller in 1956. Lucy was a member of the Catholic Women s League since 1942, and served as president for two years in Castor, Alberta. She was also a member of the Drumheller Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, giving and sharing her roses with her family and friends. Many will remember her for her talents as a fine cook. Wilson: Harold James 1934 - 2003. Harold James Wilson passed away on January 4, 2003 at the Hanna Long Term Care Centre at the age of 68 years. Harold was born on July 21, 1934 to Clarence and Gladys Wilson in the Drumheller Hospital, the second son and the last child to complete their family. Harold will be sadly missed by his mother Gladys Wilson of Drumheller, Alberta, his three daughters, Pat and Jerry Bordula of Hanna, Louise Hansen of Hanna and Bonnie and Rick Ripper of Drumheller, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, his brother Frank and sister-in-law Eunice of Drumheller, AB. and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Harold was predeceased by his father Clarence in 1995. Harold was an animal lover at heart, always had a dog and horses, had a great sense of humour, always playing tricks on people. He had a very special horse called George. George was trained to jump up into a truck out in the middle of nowhere, just say get in and he would do that. He was very good with a rope and hind footed at many of the brandings in the county. Life slowed down for Harold when he was stricken with Parkinson's disease and he was in the Hanna Long Term Care until his death. RENN: Harry G. 1920 - 2003 Harry G. Renn, beloved husband of Vi Renn of Brooks, passed away in Brooks on January 7th, 2003 at the age of 82 years. Born in Orion, Alberta on June 28th, 1920. He farmed with his dad in the Redland area where he met Violet. Harry and Violet were married in Calgary on March 15th, 1945. They eventually moved to Drumheller and in 1959 came to Brooks. Harry worked for Doug Grayson in his Tire Shop until starting with the Brooks Golf Course as Superintendent in 1963. He also ran the Curling Rink in Brooks until 1970. Harry first retired in 1987 until, in 1989, he was asked to work as Consultant in the construction of the Duchess Golf Course. He continued to work there in Maintenance until 2000. Harry was a member of the Canadian Golf Superintendents Associations, the Southern Alberta Turf Associations and the Brooks Elks Club. He will be best remembered for his love for his family, his sense of humour and his love for the game of golf. Harry was predeceased by his parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, step-mother and 2 step-brothers. He is survived by his loving family, wife Violet; 2 sons, Barry and his wife Pat and Errol and his wife Marlene all of Brooks; granddaughter Laurie Morgan and her husband Roger of Brooks; grandson Fred Renn of Brooks; great granddaughter Alexandria Morgan of Brooks; sister Alvina Weigum and her husband Geo of Drumheller; sister-in-law Lorraine Renn of Drumheller; step-sister Alice Helwig of Calgary and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 11th from the Brooks United Church. Rev. George Edmonds officiated. Honorary Pallbearers were all of Harry's friends. ANDREASEN: Richard Gunner 1926 - 2003 Born December 17, 1926 in Bassano, formerly of the Hussar area. Passed away January 9, 2003 in Drumheller at the age of 76 years. He is survived by his wife Edna, daughters June, Lisa, Kristine (Otto) and Elaine (Ron) and son Einar. ELLIOTT: Hester Jane 1912 - 2003 Hester Jane Elliot, born on September 5, 1912 in Dalmeny, Saskatchewan, passed away on January 15, 2003 at the Drumheller Hospital, at the age of 90 years. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon in 1982, a brother John and sister Ann (Nancy). Left to cherish her memory are her 5 children; Audrey (Ron) Russell of Saskatoon, SK, Charles (Pat) Elliot of Lillooet, B.C., Evaline (Stan) Riley of Camrose, AB, Gwen (Lyle) Nickason of Wiseton, SK, Clara (Cliff) Martin of Eckville, AB, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Jane was a lifetime member of the Order of the Royal Purple, a member of the I.O.D.E., and an active member of the United Church Women s Hospital Auxiliary. Jane and her husband Gordon ran the Singer Sewing Centre and later owned and operated the Bluebird Dry Cleaners. Jane also worked at the Fossil Museum in downtown Drumheller. They moved to Drumheller from Calgary in 1960 and enjoyed many friends in and around Drumheller since then. She spent her last few years at the Sunshine Lodge. She will be sorely missed by all. MARTIN: Raymond Michael 1929 - 2003 Raymond Michael Martin of Rosebud passed away peacefully at the Drumheller Hospital on January 15, 2003 at the age of 73 years. He is united once more with his beloved wife Eileen, who passed away in 1998. He is survived by his sons Jim Martin, Rosebud, and Tim (Sheila) Martin, Hanna; his daughters Tamra (Greg) House, Calgary, and Kim Martin (JW Crocker), Calgary; his sisters Joan (Wally) Jensen and Betty (Rees) Jenkins; five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, two special grandkids, and a number of nieces and nephews. Raymond is predeceased by his parents John and Millicent Martin, his brother Deane and his sister, Rosemary. Raymond was born in Drumheller March 6, 1929 and farmed on the Martin farm in Rosebud his entire life. He grew up surrounded by lifelong friends, a loving family and a sense of history. One of his proudest moments was in November, 2000 when the Honourable Shirley McClellan, MLA presented a Century Farm and Ranch Award on behalf of the province to the Martins in recognition of the 103 years that the family had farmed the same piece of land. Raymond, or Michael as he was also known, had a fun loving personality and an infectious smile which won over many, old or young. He also had a deep love and respect of the land and never wanted to be away from the farm for very long. He did make a number of short trips to Nevada, British Columbia and Ontario, but two trips he always remembered most fondly were when he and Eileen went to Australia and Singapore, and when they went on a Palm Springs golfing excursion with Tam and Greg and Raymond experienced his first earthquake. It is difficult to sum up a person s life in a few words, but Raymond said it best himself when he said that he wasn't perfect, but he had a good life. Memorial services were held at the Rosebud Church in Rosebud on Saturday, January 18, 2003 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Snowy Noble officiating. POTTER: Helen 1912 - 2003 Helen Grace Potter, (nee Barlow) passed away peacefully at the Wentworth Manor on Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at the age of 90 years. She was born in Springhill, Nova Scotia, May 16, 1912. The family moved to Drumheller in 1921. Helen completed her schooling at Crescent Heights High School, Calgary, in 1931 and graduated from the Calgary General Hospital as an RN in 1935. She returned to nurse in the Drumheller area and met and married Albert Thomas Potter in 1938. Helen is survived by three children; Albert Glenn Potter (Orma), Penny Ann McDonald (Terry) and Gordon Ernest Potter; three grandchildren; Colleen M. Potter, Tannis and Troy Renneberg, two great grandchildren and one sister Marion Powell (Ken). She was predeceased by her husband Alberta, four sisters and two brothers. In Drumheller, music, church, family and friends were always a vital part of the lives of Helen and Albert. They moved with their children to Calgary in 1958 and were active in Northminster and St. Thomas United Churches. Helen became interested in helping young children and was instrumental in organizing the Foster Parents Association in Calgary. Working with members of the provincial government Welfare Services Department, she helped to establish numerous associations throughout Alberta and was the founding President of the Provincial Foster Parents Association. Helen moved to Wentworth Court in 2001. The family would like to thank the staff at Wentworth for all the care and kindness they showed her during the last two years and especially during this last year. HOWARD: John 'Vincent', beloved husband of Ruth for sixty years, passed away peacefully at the Rockyview Hospital on January 17, 2003 at the age of 91 years. Besides his loving wife, Vincent is survived by his children, Winnifred MacLean, Allen (Gayle), Lyle, Noel (Roger) Bru, Neil; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, as well as numerous other relatives. Vincent and Ruth farmed in the Rainbow area east of Drumheller until 1972, when they relocated to the Calgary area. SOBOLESKI: Doug 1958 - 2003 Doug Soboleski beloved son, brother and treasured friend was born on May 6, 1958, in Drumheller. Ann's memory is cherished by all family and friends who touched her life in any way. Ann was pre-deceased by her parents, Dr. Roy Saito and mother Marie; brother Jim and sister Mary.
