BERT BOSSE Bert Bosse, 44, of 525 Second St. W., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2002 at La Verendrye General Hospital. He was born April 29, 1957 in St. Quenten, N.B. In 1985, Bert settled in Fort Frances, where he had lived since. He had worked as a self-employed logger, and enjoyed working on vehicles and playing cards. He also enjoyed the company of his family and friends, and was notorious for playing jokes on them. Bert was united in marriage Nov. 6, 1992 to Janace McKelvie, who survives along with his son, Davy, of St. Quenton, N.B. Also surviving is his mother, Rita Bosse; sisters, Julienne and Mona; and brothers, Gilles, Carol, and Pierre, all of St. Quenton. He also will be sadly missed by Sylvia, Kim and Dave, Jodi and Stan, Adrian, Josh, Jayde, Jason, Aaron and Justin, Jackie and Farren, Raymond and Alain, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Robert Bosse. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 18, 2002 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. Fr. Eugene Whyte O.M.I. will officiate, with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may visit prior to the funeral service at St. Mary’s. Loving mother of Michael Josephy and his wife Elsie Hernandez of San Jose, Costa Rica and David Josephy of Guelph. Devoted grandmother of Daniel, Sylvia and Irene. Predeceased by her brother Alan. Goldie was born in London, England, was a Jew by birth and later an Anglican by choice. She served in the British Women's Land Army during WW II. She was a lifelong student of literature, poetry, music and philosophy, with a depth of knowledge that left professors scrambling to keep up. In Ottawa, she was an early advocate of nuclear disarmament and opposition to the war in Vietnam. She worked on behalf of Amnesty International and the rights of persons with disabilities. She was a proud mother and grandmother and mentor to many young people, and her unfailing enthusiasm and love will be greatly missed. passed away quietly at home on March 14, 2002 at the age of 56. He leaves behind his wife and best friend, Lynn Cuddington. He was a fond uncle to David Trantham of Denton, Texas; Heather, Allison, Matthew and Daniel Vrbanac of Ottawa; and son-in-law to Mavis Currie of Ottawa. Gary was retired from a career in the Federal Public Service where he worked in executive education and audit. An avid reader of newspapers, Gary followed politics and world events throughout his life, always having an insightful view on current affairs. He loved jazz music and had the opportunity to meet some of the greats in his youth. Friends and family will miss Gary's integrity, kindness and untiring good humour. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road (at Aviation Parkway) on Friday, March 15, 2002 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Eucharistic Celebration will be held at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 151 Laurier Avenue East, Ottawa, (corner of Cumberland and Wilbrod) on Saturday, March 16, 2002, at 12 noon. Interment at Notre Dame Cemetery. Special thanks to all the staff of 1-C at the Residence Saint-Louis for their extraordinary care and devotion to Rose. In Montreal on March 13, 2002 passed away Nikolaos Trakas at the age of seventy years. Beloved husband of Dimitra Kyres. Loving father of Nelly (Michel Bujold) and Bessie (James Telfer). Adored Papou of Zoe, Frankie and Jamie. He also leaves his sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Our family wishes to extend our deepest gratitude to our spiritual brothers and sisters in the name of God as well as the staff of The Mount Sinai Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital. Donations to the Greek Orthodox Monastery Panagia Parigoritisa and/or The Cancer Research Society.
