He is survived by his beloved wife and partner Halcyon, his dear and supportive children Karen Thompson (Bob) of Rhode Island, Margot O'Neil (David) of Ottawa, Jamie Henderson (Michele) of North Vancouver and Barbara Henderson of Ottawa. Michael Adelberg of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and Marcia of Toronto, OntarioOn December 15, 2001, age 73. Wife of the late Dr. Jacob (Jack) Adelberg, Roz will be sadly missed by her children Marcy of Toronto, Michael of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; her brother David Shoihet of Ottawa and her adopted daughter, Rachel Waters of Waterloo. Roz is predeceased by her parents, Lillian and Harold Shoihet and her brother, Norman Shoihet, all of Ottawa. Roz graduated from the Faculty of Social Work at University of Toronto and worked as a therapist with K-W Counselling Services from the mid 1960's until her retirement in 1997. She and Jack were founding members of Temple Shalom where she held various executive positions throughout the years. Roz was an avid traveler and was passionate about music and singing. She performed with several choirs in the area. Roz's greatest contribution was helping people. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and will be remembered with affection. William Stuart Adamson April 11, 1958 - December 16, 2001 Scottish musician Stuart Adamson has been found dead in Hawaii at the age of 43. Adamson fronted, “Big Country”, one of the most successful bands of the 1980s. He had fought a long battle with alcoholism, and was found after going missing for over 3 weeks. This was the second time he had gone missing in two years. Born in Manchester, he grew up in Crossgates, near Dunfermline, in Fife. With singer Richard Jobson, he formed the new wave group the Skids in the 1970s. It was with the Skids that Adamson first tasted success. After the Skids split, Adamson founded Big Country with fellow guitarist Bruce Watson in 1981. The band were known for their raw, passionate sound. Big Country had a string of hits, most notably their signature tune, “In a Big Country”. Their debut album, 1983's The Crossing, established the Scottish group in the US. Their subsequent four albums, took their total record sales to more than10 million. Big Country participated in the Live Aid concert at Wembley, in 1985- one of the biggest musical events of the 1980s. They continued recording and touring well into the 1990s but split toward the end of the decade. Their last album was "Driving to Damascus" Adamson conceded that the fact that the band’s music hadn't been more widely heard had frustrated him. Adamson went on to form another group, the Raphaels. He had spoken in the past about going through a nervous breakdown in 1986, and had nearly suffered another due to overwork. He had recently said that he wished "to be in a situation where I can be the rock I desire to be for the people I am closest to". The guitarist and singer split from his wife and children three years ago, but he had relocated to Nashville and was involved with another woman.

Slipped away quietly early Sunday, December 16, 2001 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital at the age of 91. Beloved husband of the late Jeanne Barkley, he will be greatly missed by his daughters, Judianne and Elizabeth, and fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Holly and Alex. His gentle nature endeared him to all who met him; he will be sorely missed by friends at the Rothwell Heights Lodge and other family members. À l’Hôpital Général de Québec, le 12 décembre 2001, à l’âge de 89 ans et 4 mois, est décédée dame Cécile Carpentier, fille de feu Charles-Edouard Carpentier et de dame Malvina Hubert. Elle demeurait à Québec. Selon ses volontés elle ne sera pas exposée, un service religieux sera célébré le mercredi 19 décembre à 14h, en l’église St-Dominique, 175, Grande-Allée ouest, Québec, où la famille recevra les condoléances une demi-heure avant la cérémonie. Elle laisse dans le deuil son frère Albert Carpentier (Françoise); son cousin Marcel Prince (Hélène Rousseau), et sa très grande amie Gertrude Couture, qui durant toute sa maladie l’ont accompagnée, ainsi que de nombreux neveux, nièces, cousins, cousines et ami(e)s.
