Alphonse (Ti-Phonse) Duclos Alphone Duclos died at Toronto General Hospital on October 10, 2001. He was 80 years old. Mr. Duclos was born on August 13, 1921 at St. Isidor New Burnswick. He enjoyed making art work from toothpicks. He is predeceased by: his father Romain; mother Olympe; sisters Dianna Dugay, Julienne Valliere, Marieann Smith, Alma Valliere, Therese Beaullieu, and Emile Duclos He is survived by: Diane (Lionel) Lozier, Daniel (Georgina) Duclos; four grandchildren Andre, Michel, Gilbert, and Pierre; and eight great grandchildren. The funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Kap on October 26 at 10:30 a.m.

Georges Graveline 102-1 Pelletier Moonbeam, died at Sensenbrenner Hospital Kapuskasing on October 10, 2001. He was 71 years old. He was born on February 15, 1930 in Grosses Roches, Quebec. Mr. Graveline worked as a lumberjack. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was predeceased by: three brothers Emilien,Joseph, and Philippe. He is survived by: his wife Germaine; brother Michel and André (Monique Desgroseilliers) all of Moonbeam; two brothers, Lucie (Denis) Bernier and Lise Graveline (Michel Sauvé) all from Moonbeam; two sisters Simone Hogan of St. Marc sur Richelieu and Jacqueline Imbeau of Grosses Roches; and six grandchildren Alain, Sophie, Jennifer, Steve, Dave and Jesse. The funeral services took place at Nativité de Marie.

Forty-eight, of Dartmouth, passed away October 17, 2001 in Dartmouth. Born in Cowansville, Quebec, he was the son of Alice Watson and the late Douglas Watson, of Montreal. Ian worked at Rolls Royce Canada (formerly Ulstein Maritime Ltd.) since 1996 and had worked in the marine field for all of his working life (25 years). He will be deeply mourned by his loving family - his devoted wife, Elena; daughters Kristal and Kelly; mother Alice Watson and aunt Mary Bancroft, Montreal; sister Janet (brother-in-law Murray) Gough-Watson, Australia; niece Stephanie Watson, Victoria; sister Ann (brother-in-law Jack); nephew, Ben Silberman, Bowen Island, B.C.; and his family in Chile - mother and father-in-law Yolanda and Roberto; brothers-in-law Harry and Phillippe. Simone M Lemieux (nee: Pomerleau) , of Hearst Death: October 16th, 2001 Simone Lemieux Funeral services for longtime Hearst resident Simone M. (née Pomerleau) Lemieux, 77, of 54 Eighth St were held Oct. 18, 2001. She died Oct. 16 at Notre-Dame Hospital. Born June 28, 1924 in Lac-Mégantic, Quebec, she came to the area in 1930. She was considered to be a devoted mother and family person. Predeceased by her husband Armand Lemieux in 1998 and an infant daughter Denise Lemieux in 1953, she leaves a son Réal Lemieux of Longlac and a daughter Réjeanne (Réjean) Blanchette of Hearst. Also surviving are sisters Annette Duguay of Hearst and Marie Brisson and Marguerite Brisson, both of Montreal, brothers Lucien and Marcel Pomerleau, both of Timmins, and Philippe Pomerleau of Val-d'Or, Que., grandsons Alain, Michel and Éric, granddaughters Vicky, Chantal, Rosanne, and Dina, and great grandson Austin. ELAINE (SISSON) OSSACHUK After a lengthy battle with cancer, Elaine Ossachuk (nee Sisson), 46, passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001 in Kelowna, B.C. Elaine married Jack Ossachuk on Aug. 27, 1977 in Dauphin, Man. Also surviving are two children, Justin of Tulsa, Okla., who plays for the Tulsa Oilers, and Jordan of Kelowna, B.C.; two sisters; and her father, Dawson, of Dauphin, Man. She was predeceased by her mother, Doris, in 1997. Elaine was the daughter-in-law of Joey and Bertha Ossachuk.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marianne (Miki) Nesbit; daughters, Monica (Paul) Stromness, Charlotte (Bob) Berg, and Rose Nesbit; and sons, Jim (Louise) Nesbit, Frank Nesbit Jr., and Larry (Irene) McKee. Also surviving are granddaughters, Trina (Kelly) Wilson, Pamela Elias, Kerri McKee, Dianna Nesbit, Kelli McKee, Joanna Nesbit, and Barbie Stromness; grandsons, Tony (Brenda) Elias, Jeff (Michelle) Berg, Justin Nesbit, Jay Miller, Matthew Berg, Kyle Nesbit, and Chris Berg; and great-grandchildren, Andrew Wilson, Jaryd Elias, and Rachel Elias. Simone Lemieux Funeral services for longtime Hearst resident Simone M. (née Pomerleau) Lemieux, 77, of 54 Eighth St were held Oct. 18, 2001. She died Oct. 16 at Notre-Dame Hospital. Born June 28, 1924 in Lac-Mégantic, Quebec, she came to the area in 1930. She was considered to be a devoted mother and family person. Predeceased by her husband Armand Lemieux in 1998 and an infant daughter Denise Lemieux in 1953, she leaves a son Réal Lemieux of Longlac and a daughter Réjeanne (Réjean) Blanchette of Hearst. Also surviving are sisters Annette Duguay of Hearst and Marie Brisson and Marguerite Brisson, both of Montreal, brothers Lucien and Marcel Pomerleau, both of Timmins, and Philippe Pomerleau of Val-d'Or, Que., grandsons Alain, Michel and Éric, granddaughters Vicky, Chantal, Rosanne, and Dina, and great grandson Austin. A very honourable and loving person who died peacefully, after a brief illness, at Scarborough Hospital, Grace Division on Friday, October 19, 2001 in his ninety-first year. Born and raised in China; he lived in Jamaica, Montreal and Toronto. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Lily Yeun Tai in 1994. Caring and dear father of Tam Hee (Byang Qin) of China, Rose (Bernie) and Anne Marie of Toronto and Wayne Peter (Linda) of Montreal. Lovingly missed by his five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren in China, England and Jamaica. William, a former educator in China, successfully ran his own business with his wife in Jamaica before retiring in Canada thirty-one years ago. While retired he loved assisting his children and was very active in cooking and gardening. Loved all sports, enjoyed walks, was an excellent historian of the Hakka and Chinese culture and made many friends in his travels with his very special smile and caring personality. The family will receive friends at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Avenue E., Toronto, Ontario on Friday, October 26, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Prince of Peace Church, 265 Alton Towers Circle, Toronto, Ontario on Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Special thanks to the wonderful and caring nurses and staff at Scarborough Hospital, Grace Division, especially those in ICU and 3D. Peacefully at Maxville Manor, Maxville, Ontario on Tuesday, October 23, 2001 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers. Beatrice Morris, formerly of Dunvegan, age 89 years. Daughter of the late John Morris and the late Catherine Kane. Beatrice was born at Lochiel, Ontario and attended Iona Academy where she graduated in Business Administration. She was first married to Ernest Fletcher who predeceased her at the early age of 28 years. Later she married Ernest's brother Norman who predeceased her in 1994. Loving mother of Warner of Toronto, Jim of Ottawa and Faye Zsadany (Ron) of Burlington. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Charles of Winnipeg, Pamela DaPonte (Joe) and Elizabeth Fletcher (Jim Bennett), both of Woodstock. Predeceased by her daughter Shirley age 9 years, son Duncan age 14 years and sons Ernest Wayne and Ernest Norman in infancy, her sisters Oswald, Gertrude and Mary and her brother Clifford. Beatrice was a devoted member of Kenyon Presbyterian Church, Dunvegan. Through all adversity she always remained happy. Beatrice and Norman left the family farm at Dunvegan in 1964 for Oakville where she was employed as manager of Centenial Park Towers for 22 years. Relatives and friends may call at Munro & Morris Funeral Home, 20 Main Street, Maxville on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 12 noon until time of service. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Rhonda (Andy) Hall, Sandra (Terry) Bell, their father Roger, and her grandsons Bradley, Jeffrey and Christopher Bell. She is also survived by her sister Evelyn Roe and family, and her good friend Doris Mirkovich.
