Linda "Maragno" Gatto November 09, 1958 - March 30, 2001 Funeral arrangements by Markey - Dermody Rosedale Chapel It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly loved Linda, aged 42, on March 30, 2001. After a tireless and courageous battle, Linda joins God who needed her more than us. Linda was the loving wife and best friend of Gerry who adored her and mother of Gennaro and twins Severina and Alfredo, her greatest joys. Predeceased by her dear mother Mary who, we know, already has a room ready for her, Linda is survived by her father Severino (Lolly) Maragno. Linda's sisters, brother and their spouses, Marilyn and Bob Bull, Carl and Carla Maragno and Annette and Jim Brown will deeply miss Linda, her infectious laugh and her music in their lives. Linda was the loving and loved daughter-in-law of Alfredo and Anna Gatto who loved and treated her like their own daughter. She was the caring and cared for sister-in-law and friend of Lina and Nat Gallo who will cherish the many wonderful memories of good times shared. Linda's nephews and nieces, Steven, Christopher and Vicky Bull, Michael and Lidio Gallo, Nicholas and Daniel Maragno, Bianca and Adriana Brown have lost the love of a great friend and adoring aunt. Her passion for and mastery of music was shared with the many students she taught in the Dufferin Peel Board of Education and the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board teaching at Cardinal Newman and at Cathedral where she also served as Head of Department. Linda has been the organist and adult choir director at Canadian Martyrs' Parish for the past twenty years and was most recently the music director for the Jublilee 2000, Open Wide the Doors to Christ production as well as the choir director for the Black Hills Passion Play presented at Copps Coliseum in March 2000. Captain (retired RCCS/RCAPC) Suddenly on Saturday, March 31st, 2001 in his 82nd year after a short battle with leukemia. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Eileen (nee Guirey), and three sons, Gregory (Maureen) of Prince George, BC, John (Susan) of Kanata and Gary of Ottawa. Greatly saddened are his grandchildren Shona, Kirsty, Megan, Lindsay and Douglas and brothers Charles of Moose Jaw, Sask. and Rex of Victoria, BC. He was a gentle man, a loving husband and father, and a fiercely proud grandfather. Al spent much of his working career in the Army Paycorp (30 years) and retired to join the Canadian Forces Exchange group (CANEX) as a civilian accountant for fifteen more years. His passion in life was curling and he was a past winner in the City of Ottawa bonspiel and a long standing member of the R.A. and Arnprior curling clubs. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and an active parishioner at St. John Chrysostom Church, Arnprior. At age sixty-nine of 93 Acadia Avenue, Stellarton. Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 31, 2001 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Joseph and Kathleen (Pike) Gouthro. He was a resident of Stellarton since 1979, having previously resided in Blainville, Quebec. He was an employee of Northern Electric for some 30 years from where he retired. He was a member of our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by his devoted wife, the former Maude Conway of forty-six years., Stellarton; sons, Gregory (Sylvie), St. Antoine, Quebec; Stephen (Janice), Westville; Michael (Kathy), Alberta; Patrick (Sheilagh), Blainville, Quebec; Bobbie (Wanda), Pictou; Norman (Tammy), Alberta; Bruce (Bridget), New Glasgow; Kevin (Annette), Stellarton; daughters Linda (Jack) Wilson, Montreal; Susan, Montreal; Colleen (Ron) Smith, Falmouth; Allyson, Stellarton; he was a loving Papa to his twenty-seven grandchildren. (nee Moores). Passed away peacefully March 31, 2001 at the Royal Victoria hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved wife of twenty-five years to Hugh McGowan, loving mother of Terry and Carrie-Ann (Allan). Will always be remembered by her grandchildren Michael, Chelsea, Christopher, Jenna, Amanda, Kevin, Bobby, Christopher, Kayla and Amanda. Sister to Gerald (Doreen), Pauleen (Eddy), Barbara (Peter), Peggy (Jimmy) and the late Marie (Harold), Kitty (Phil) and Winnie Greig. Peacefully, in her sleep, Kaitlin died on March 31, 2001 two weeks after her 20th birthday. She is cherished here in life and ever after for her unfaltering love and enthusiasm, her valiant inspiration and perseverance. Kaitlin truly appreciated the vigilance and sacrifice of her sister and brother, Enid and Alex Morris, her grandparents, Ken and Kay Hartin and Vera Morris, her parents, Molly Hartin and John French, and Keith Morris and Shirlee McKinnon. She loved her uncles, aunts, cousins, her special friend, Patrick Johnson and all of her many other friends. Her medical care, directed by Dr. A. Guberman, Epilepsy Unit, General Campus and Dr. P. Humphries, C.H.E.O., here in Ottawa and around the world was appreciated by all. Kaitlin had wonderful experiences in the Living and Learning Program, Sir Guy Carleton Secondary School, and Camp Merrywood of the Easter Seal Society.
