CHABOT, Lt Col. Luc-A. Est décédé à Laval, le 3 avril 2001, à l'âge de 80 ans, à la suite d'un cancer. Fils du Col. et Mme Charles Chabot (née Bissonnette). Il a fait ses études au Collège jésuite et aux universités Queens à Kingston. En 1940, il est nommé lieutenant d'artillerie et lors de la deuxième guerre mondiale, il servit en Angleterre, France, Hollande et Allemagne. À la fin de la guerre, il est major et devient officier de service. Durant sa carrière militaire, il commande le premier régiment RCHA et est nommé commandant adjoint du Collège d'État-Major à Kingson. Il agit comme attaché militaire à la Délégation canadienne de la Commission internationale de contrôle au Cambodge lors du conflit en Indochine. Il prend sa retraite des Forces armées en 1971. Il devient alors directeur de l'hôpital Royal Victoria et ensuite de l'hôpital Notre-Dame à Montréal. Il est élu président du Conseil d'administration du Centre d'accueil Jean-de-la-Lande de Montréal et vice-président de la Société Alzheimer. Il agit comme bénévole à l'hôpital des Anciens combattants à Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue ainsi qu'à l'hôpital du Sacré-Coeur à Montréal. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Thérèse Rhéaume, ses enfants: Claude (Christina Sutherland) et Nicole (Paul McLaughlin); son frère Paul (Alaine Hunt); sa soeur Yolande (feu Capt. T. Connors); sa belle-soeur June Hunter (feu Charles) et ses deux petits-enfants: Nicholas et Samantha. Predeceased by her loving husband C.J. (Jack) Bonser. She leaves to mourn her sister, Dagmar Hopcroft and her brother, Gerald Holland in London, Ontario, her devoted nephew and loyal caregivers, Peter, Janet, Debbie and Glenn, sisters-in-law Isabelle and Theresa Holland, Betty Liddle, several nieces and nephews as well as her special friends here and in St. John's, Newfoundland. Born March 27, 1930 in New Glasgow, N.S., passed away March 27, 2001, in Hawksbury, Ontario. Son of the late Isabel and Howard Cantley. Pre-deceased by his son David Ross in 1973, and brothers Tom and Colin, and sister Helen. Ross had a great passion for the sea and was active in sailing in Baie d'Urfe, Que. He was a committed fund raiser for the Penny Cole and David Cantley Fund at the Montreal Children's Hospital. He expressed great creativity with clay sculpture of shore birds and was a member of the Baie d'Urfe Potter's Guild. Fondly remembered by Carmen Lariviere, Beverley Cantley Merryfield, nieces and nephews Ellen, Donald, Ann, Joan and Isabel, and his many friends in Nova Scotia, British Columbia, Los Angeles and the Montreal area.
