The death of Bernice E.A. Storm of Ottawa, formerly of Fredericton, N.B., occurred on March 29, 2001, in hospital at Ottawa after a brief illness. She was born in Nashwaak Bridge, N.B., on August 22, 1909 to Larkin and Alma (Warman) Morton. She is survived by daughters, Sylvia Jean Smith (Ronald), Ottawa, Dawn Dorcas (Alvin), Lincoln, Greta Bruce (John Boone), Fredericton, step-son Richard Storm (Mary), Fredericton, brother-in-law R.F. Fendick, Hampton, N.B., and daughter-in-law Clara Pringle (Bridgewater, N.S.). She will be missed by grandchildren Geraldine Harris (Wendell), Brett Dorcas (Linda), Shelley Sansom (Brock), Lori Mattice (Art), Stephen Smith (Marcia), Geoffrey Pringle, Tanda Russell (Rob), Jetta Dauphinee (Craig), step-grandchildren Pam Pallock (Tony), Lori Storm, several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband J.W. (Bill) Pringle, second husband L.R. (Ike) Storm, son J.L. (Jim) Pringle, grandson Brian Bruce, brother York Morton, and sister Jean Bradbury. Her family was her greatest focus and treasure throughout her 91 years. In hospital on Friday, March 30, 2001, Ted Girouard of Russell in his 80th year. Ottawa's son, born to the late J. Joseph and Elizabeth (McGovern) Girouard on October 23, 1921 and attended St. Pat's High School, At the outbreak of World War II Ted volunteered with three of his brothers and took part in the invasion at Normandy. He became a bus driver for Voyageur-Colonial and union president before starting Hiway Tours in 1961. Ted retired in 1978, pursuing his passion for Golf between Williamsburg and Arizona with his beloved wife Lois (Eadie). Dear father of Linda Cameron of Niagara Falls, Beverly Hillier (late Albert) of Ottawa and Ted (Barbara) of Orleans. Loving grandfather of Leanne and Andrew Cameron; John Hillier; Jeremiah, Morgan, Joshua and the late Bradley Girouard. Also survived by his war bride Alice Morgan. Brother of the late Harry, John, James, Leonard, and Esther Girouard, Rita Fairchild, Mildred Groves and Lillian Malo. Charles Henry Hanton November 13, 1917 - March 28, 2001 Funeral arrangements by Jenkens Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre Passed away on March 28th, 2001 at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital-McKellar Site, at the age of 83. He was born November 13, 1917 in Kenora, Ontario to Frank and Henrietta Hanton and spent the early part of his childhood in that area. As a young man he worked various jobs which took him far from home but he was always drawn back to Northwestern Ontario. Chuck enlisted in the army in 1939 and served in the 4th Field Ambulance Corps till he was discharged in 1946. While in England he met Joan, the love of his life. They were married in August, 1945 and moved to Canada in 1948, settling in Fort William. Charlie spent many hours in his earlier years working with his buddies on their race cars, doing welding and the lettering on the cars. He loved to do sign painting, this was his creative outlet. He liked to take his family to the track at the exhibition grounds to watch the races. His family was always very important to him and he made sure he provided for them well. He worked for Canada Car as a welder for many years before he changed careers and became a weighman for the Canadian Grain Commission, working in various elevators in Thunder Bay until he retired in 1982. Ill health has plagued him over the years, but he was never one to give up easily. He was a fighter. He did his best to care for his beloved wife Joan when she was diagnosed with Alzheimers two years ago. When he could no longer cope, at the risk of his own health, they went to live in a nursing home. Dad has fought a valiant fight, but decided he has had enough and it is time for him to rest. We will miss you Dad, but your memory will live on in our hearts forever. Chuck was predeceased by his sister May, brothers Lloyd, Ed, Albert and Len. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Joan of 55 years, his daughter Lynn Tait and grandchildren C.J. and Kirsten of Font Hill, ON, daughter Kim (Ken) Lebel and grandson Jordy of Lacombe, AB, his granddaughter Lorise of Calgary, AB and son Lloyd and his wife Susan of Murillo. He also leaves to mourn one brother Frank of Regina, SK. In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Thunder Bay or to the Canadian Lung Association. Special thanks to Dr. Rick Almond for his excellent care throughout the years, and to the nurses and staff of St. Joseph's Care Group, Versa Care Center and McKellar Hospital for their care and compassion in his last year of life.
