GRZADKA, Anna (nee Wdowiak). Born in Medrzechow, Tarnow, Poland, January 15, 1905. Anna was predeceased by her husband Walter November 5, 1983, son Michael January 17, 1991, brothers and sisters. Survived by her son Edward (Jeannette), daughter-in-law Marion Grzadka, grandchildren Myra Cox (Darren), Richard Grzadka (Bonita), great grandchildren Ryan and Curtis Cox, Stephane and Andre Grzadka, one sister, Julia, in Poland and many nieces and nephews here and abroad. Anna arrived in Canada May 31, 1929 at the age of twenty-four and was married to Walter June 6, 1934 in Montreal, PQ. In her younger years Anna was very active in the Polish Club, Bratnia Pomoc, in Pt. St. Charles, receiving a bronze medal for her work with children. Special thanks to Renia Lis, who as a niece, looked after mom as a daughter. Resting at: Sunday October 17, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Rosary will be said in the parlour at 8 p.m. The funeral will take place Monday October 18 at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Parish, 1660 Centre Street, Pointe St. Charles, thence to Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery. ANNA YVONNE "ADAM" SMITH (nee BILODEAU) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful Mother, Grandmother and Friend. Anna was predeceased by her first husband Karl Adam, father of her children, predeceased by one daughter, Linda and her second husband Louis Smith. Anna is survived by her three remaining children, Ron (Grace) of St. Pierre, MB, Carol (Maurice) of Grande Pointe, MB and Sandra (Jim) of Winnipeg, MB. Lovingly remembered by Daryl, Lisa, Chauntelle, Crystal, Ryan, Chad and Brady as well as six great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. If there is one thing the family can all agree on it is how strong Mom was. She was a counsellor, a teacher, someone you could depend on and everybody knew that "twinkle" in her eye. The only regret we have is that she left us too soon, but we know that she is with GOD. We would like to thank Pastor Lewis and Chaplin Timothy Fenlon for spending time with Mom and family. It was truly appreciated. Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 19 at the Springs Church, 595 Lagimodiere. BRIDGMAN, Commodore Arthur Graham (R.C.N., Ret'd) It is with deep sadness that his family announces the death of Graham Bridgman, born November 4, 4, 1917, in Pelly, Saskatchewan. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Claire, his brothers, Wilfred, Greville and D'Arcy, and by his sisters-in-law, Marge and Nellie Bridgman, and brother-in-law Thomas Smith. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by daughter, Candy Reed (Keith), sons Kenelm and Michael, grandchildren, Jennifer Reed, Christina and Michel Brigman and Jessica and James Bridgman, sister, Blanche Smith, sisters-in-law, Dulce and Shirley Gould, brother-in-law, Derry Gould, many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada, Australia and England, the "Nooners" and numerous other friends. After early days herding cattle and horses in rural Saskatchewan, he graduated as an engineer from the University of Saskatchewan (Saskatoon) in 1941. He immediately joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served his country at sea (HMS Despatch and HMC Ships Quinte, Clayoquot, Red Deer, Stonetown, Haida, Ontario and Bonaventure), on shore (Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa and Esquimalt), in war and peacetime before retiring in 1973. He then embarked on a successful career as a stockbroker in Victoria from which he retired in 1992. His many interests included membership in and supporting the union Club of BC, Canadian Institute of International Affairs (past president Victoria Chapter), Art Gallery of Greater Victoria (past board member) and many other cultural and professional organizations, shooting with the Dominion Rifle Association (Commandant Canadian Bisley Team in 1963), golfing, playing with crosswords and other puzzles and following the world of politics. He took special pride in receiving the Queen's Jubilee medal for his services on behalf of his former naval colleagues. His family wishes to thank Wendy McDonald for her loving care and Gordon McAllister, Drs. G.B. Mclean and D. Kinloch, the emergency room nurses and staff at Royal Jubilee Hospital for their wonderful care and attention and the staff at the Union Club for their interest and attention throughout his long membership. A memorial celebration will be held at First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1155 Fort Street on Thursday, November 25 at 2 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined. Born in Halifax on August 29, 1973, Shawn was the son of Donald and Beatrice (Lattie) Boutilier, Upper Kennetcook. He had resided in Calgary for the past nine years and was employed with Inland Pipe of Calgary. JOMPHE, BERNADETTE - Des funérailles auront lieu le 25 février 2004 à 16 h 15 pour Bernadette Jomphe de Hearst, décédée le 21février à l'âge de 95 ans. Née le 30 octobre 1908 à Lévis au Québec, elle est arrivée dans la région en 1920. Elle a travaillé pendant plusieurs années comme technicienne en radiologie à l'Hôpital Notre-Dame de Hearst avant de prendre sa retraite en 1974. Membre des Filles d'Isabelle, elle était toujours prête à rendre service. On la décrivait comme une personne très joviale qui aimait beaucoup les enfants. C'est le père Réal Veilleux qui célébrera le service funèbre. Elle fut précédée dans la mort par tous ses frères et toutes ses soeurs. Elle laisse dans le deuil trois belles-soeurs : Fernande Samson (Feu Louis) de Hearst, Fernande Samson (feu Adrien) de Wawa et Pauline Samson (feu Albert), ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. On apprécierait des dons au Foyer des Pionniers.

MARIE ROSE BOURRIER (nee LALONDE) 1921 - 2004 Peacefully with her daughter by her side Marie Rose passed away at the age of 82 years at Tache Nursing Centre. Marie Rose was predeceased by her loving husband Romain; daughter Lucille in infancy; her sister Yvonne; brother Fred; and adopted brother Simon. Marie Rose is survived by her daughter Denise (Gordon) Kostynuik; son Robert; twin sisters, Annette and Bernadette; and numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Zenon Park, SK on May 14, 1921, Marie Rose later met and married her husband Romain and raised their family in St. Boniface. Marie Rose was a gentle, considerate and loving person who was truly devoted to her family. One of mom's favourite things was to return home to Zenon Park in the summer to visit with family. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Tache Nursing Centre for all their care and compassion. Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 28 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. Interment of the cremated remains will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery. ROLAND EDMOND LUSSIER 1919 - 2004 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather, Mr. Roland Edmond Lussier. Dad was born March 2, 1919. The eldest son of Edmond and Delphine Lussier. Dad married Mom, Agnes (nee Collette) on October 12, 1946. Dad is survived by our dear mother, and children, Donald, Rene, Noella, Richard, Guy, and Bernard. He is also survived by son-in-law Fernand and daughters-in-law, Marguerite, Dianne, Wendy and Nancy. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Margot, David, Robert, Christine, Danielle, Michelle, Patrick, Paul, Mark, Cory, Tyler, Janelle, Kendra and Kaitlin; and great-grandson Matthieu. Dad is also survived by brothers, Emilien, Leo and sister Edmee. He was predeceased by his three brothers, Aurele, Gilles and Roger. Dad served in the Canadian Army from 1942 to 1946 defending Canada's west coast. Upon his release from the army, Mom and Dad started their family and made their living farming in the Ste. Elizabeth, MB area until retiring from farming for 27 years. In 1973, they moved to St. Pierre where Dad drove a school bus until retirement in 1982. Throughout his life, Dad was active in numerous community affairs. Dad will always be remembered as a loving husband and father who never failed in lending a helping hand to friend or stranger. He was greatly admired and respected by family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Prayers commencing at St. Pierre Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 2:30 p.m. A special thanks to the staff of St.Pierre Hospital and Home Care. KOOIMAN, Hendrik. Peacefully in his seventy-second year at the Jean Talon hospital, after a brief illness. Survived by his children Janet, Pieter and John, ex-wife Peggie of thirty-two years, daughters-in-law Pauline and veronica, grandchildren Michael, Nathalie, Benjamin, Alisa, Alexander and Jennifer, brother Vincent, sisters Mineke and Annie. Predeceased by grandson Bryant and sister Tineke. Having immigrated from Holland in 1953, Hein attained 2nd class honours in McGill University Law, was called to the bar in 1959 and thereafter pursued a legal career for over forty years. Hein was active in the Dutch community having served as the President of the Montreal Netherlands Association for many years for which he was awarded the Order of Orange Nassau by the Dutch governemnt. Hein will be missed by his family, friends, the Dutch community and colleagues in the legal profession. The family appreciated the assistance provided by Janice McGregor and Pauline Richard in the late years of his life.
