Réal Jomphe, demeurant à la Résidence Georges-Hébert, Jonquière, autrefois rue Notre-Dame, Jonquière. La famille accueillera parents et amis à la Résidence funéraire du Saguenay 2580, rue St-Dominique Jonquière le samedi 24 octobre 2009 de 11 h à 14 h. Les funérailles auront lieu le samedi 24 octobre 2009 à 14h à l'église Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix. Les cendres seront inhumées au cimetière Jonquière. Elle était la fille de feu Mme Delvina Perron et de feu M. Henry Fillion. Elle laisse dans le deuil son fils: Eric Jomphe (Guylaine Bergeron); ses petits-enfants: Philippe et Eve. Elle était la soeur de: feu Charlemagne Fillion (feu Rosaline Tremblay), Cécile (Clément Boivin), feu Normand (Mariette Pageau), Marcel (Marthe Jomphe), Rodolphe (Françoise Deshormeaux), Nilka (Pierre Dupuis). Elle était la belle-soeur de: Annette Jomphe (Léopold Villeneuve), feu André-Louis, Claudette (feu Jos-Marie Larouche), Claude (Claire Lapointe), Jacques (Ginette Flamand), Yves (Jocelyne Fournier), Jacynthe, Louise, Lina, Michel (Roxane Levasseur), feu Roberte. MALTAIS (M. Jean-Yves) 1957-2009 Le 13 octobre 2009, est décédé au C.S.S.S. de Chicoutimi, à l'âge de 52 ans, M. Jean-Yves Maltais, demeurant à Chicoutimi, autrefois de Sacré-Coeur. Il était le fils de feu Norbert Maltais et de dame Jeanne Guignard de Sacré-Coeur. Outre sa mère, M. Maltais laisse dans le deuil ses frères: Denis, Jacques, Steeve, André; ses soeurs: Johanne, Danielle, Caroline et leurs conjoints, conjointes, ainsi que de nombreux oncles et tantes, neveux et nièces, cousins et cousines, et amis (es). LONEY 2009-10-18 It is with heavy hearts, the family announce the passing of Hugh Loney on October 15th, 2009. Our father was a hard working, fun loving family man who always enjoyed the simple things in life. Dad always said that you don’t need a lot in life provided you have loving friends and family by your side. Dad loved his family and would spend every chance he got to enjoy time with us. Family time meant summers at Agimak Lake Ignace, winters on the ski hills or at Kamview and fall hunting trips with Jim. Dad loved his coffee with the gang, weekend TV football games with "Brother Bob" and Sunday dinners were always a favourite at one of his children’s homes. Dad worked at Chapples for 30 plus years, TB Hydro and Sask Pool. His favourite job, however, was spending time at his son’s business giving advice during extended coffee break chats. Dad played football for the Redskins, rowed for the Fort William Rowing Club, was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame and sang in the Fort William Male Choir for over 30 years. Hugh is survived by his children: Susan (Bob) Marsonet , Jim (Michelle) Loney and Elizabeth Beaudry, grandchildren Brody, Matthew, Taylor, Haley, Alexis, Ashley, Lucille and Lucas. He is also survived by his brother Bob Loney and his sister Mary Loney. He was predeceased by his parents James and Ray Loney and brother Jack Loney. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 22nd at 11:00 am in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

MANN , Dr. Cedric Robert Dr. Cedric Robert Mann passed away after a brief illness on October 15, 2009. He was predeceased by his wife Muriel Frances (May) Mann, mother Winnifred (Hood) Mann, father Duncan Mann and brother James Mann. Cedric is survived by his son Robin Mann, daughter-in-law Patty, and grandsons Christopher, Eric, Matthew (wife, Charmane) and Trevor. Cedric was born in Auckland, New Zealand on February 14, 1926. He spent many years as a renowned physical oceanographer and is best known for his organization and leadership of the Hudson 70 expedition; the first and only circumnavigation of the Americas by ship. Cedric earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the University of Auckland, New Zealand before immigrating to Canada in 1949. After earning his Ph.D. in Physics at the University of British Columbia, Cedric went on to work with the Defense Research Board of Canada, doing research on acoustic problems related to submarine detection. In the early 1960's Cedric moved to the newly formed Bedford Institute of Oceanography while also lecturing as a visiting professor at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia. In 1972, Cedric was granted an honorary Ph.D. in Engineering from the Nova Scotia Technical College for his leadership in the Hudson 70 expedition. He spent years studying the physical and chemical oceanography in Canada and was appointed Director General of the Bedford Institute in 1978. In 1979, Cedric and his wife Frances moved to the west coast where he became Director General of the Institute of Ocean Sciences at Pat Bay in Victoria, a position he held until his retirement in 1986. Cedric spent much of his leisure time in Sidney, British Columbia playing golf, growing roses, reading mystery novels, swimming and participating in lawn bowling at the Sidney Lawn Bowling Club with friends. Cedric was honored to receive the J.P. Tully Medal awarded by the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society in 1994. Cedric will be greatly missed by his family and friends. MUNRO, Doris Irene Athens, GA Doris Irene Munro, 86, died at home on October 10, 2009. Her daughter and granddaughter were with her and holding her hands. She fought many ailments gallantly, but especially against Parkinson's disease. Mrs. Munro was a retired tax consultant. She enjoyed bowling and golf. She was a member of Chapelwood Methodist Church and the Homick Sunday School class. She was a lifetime member of No. 6 Service Flying Training School Royal Canadian Air Force (Dunnville) Reunion Association. Mrs. Munro was a well traveled woman who lived in many places. She fell in love with Athens a little over two years ago, but more so, with the people the people fell in love with her. She did, however, miss her other friends far and away. Her Jack Russell, Heidi, made her laugh more than anything else did. Heidi stood vigil over Doris during her illness and her passing and she misses her. Born in Dunnville , Ontario , Canada on June 22, 1923 to Harry and Hazel Humphrey Foster. She is survived by her daughter, Shari McDonald and her children Tami Cilk (husband Chad) in Phoenix and Duane Shiffer (wife Grace) in Athens, son David McDonald (wife Cyndi) in Colorado Springs and their son Josh Stamps in San Diego; sister Myrtle Powell Johnston (husband Ron) in London, Ontario; grandson Dustin McDonald and five great-grandchildren, six nieces and two nephews. Preceded in death by three husbands; Lt.Col. Ernest McDonald (fighter pilot), Major Paul Gardella (bomber pilot), and Lt. Commander William Munro (Royal Canadian fighter pilot); two sons Larry Foster McDonald in infancy and Lawrence Foster McDonald ( Vietnam helicopter pilot), sister Mary Lou Claus, granddaughter Dawn McDonald. Memorial at Chapelwood Methodist Church , Janice Drive , Athens GA on 11/8/09 at 3:00 pm. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. JONES , Harold Dale July 24, 1930 - October 15, 2009 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Harold Dale Jones, after a brave battle with illness. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Eileen Jones (nee Allbright), his daughter, Nicole Jones Bradac, her husband David; his grandchildren, Roman and Petra; his sister Esther and her husband Colin Hughes; and will be greatly missed by relatives and friends worldwide. Dale graduated from the University of Liverpool with a BSc. in Geology and moved to Calgary to pursue a career in the oilpatch. Dale loved sports, he was a dedicated runner, hiker, skier and pioneer windsurfer. He was provincial sailing champion for the Enterprise class for several years and taught sailing at the Glenmore Sailing Club. He prized gardening and the outdoors, and will be remembered for his commitment to environmental and social causes, as well as the arts. A Celebration of Dale's Life will be held at Pinebrook Golf and Country Club (166 Pinebrook Way S.W.) on Monday, October 26, 2009 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Please forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com . CHOW, Wo Yim It is with great sadness and deep sorrow that the family of Wo Yim Chow announces her peaceful passing on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at the General Hospital (Grey Nuns) in Edmonton. Mrs. Chow was born in China on August 15, 1917 and had been a citizen of Canada and resident of Edmonton for over half a century. She was predeceased by her husband, Ken Sin Chow, in 1987. She is survived by her sons, Alfred (Bonita), Daniel (Mary), and Eugene (Linda), and her grandchildren, Kevin, Kelsey, Sara, and Amy, all of Edmonton. She also leaves many nieces and nephews in Canada and the United States. The family wishes to acknowledge the professional and compassionate care from her many caregivers in unit 5Y of the General Hospital. Also our heartfelt thanks to Soo Yee Wong, her wonderful caregiver and companion for many years. SAND, Margaret Mary January 20, 1939 - October 13, 2009 On October 13, 2009 Margaret Sand of Edmonton, AB formerly of Jasper, AB, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Margaret leaves behind to mourn her loss her loving husband of 52 years, Grant. Her children Rick (Lezlie), Dale, Mary-Ellen (Mike), Garry (Linda-Leah), Jim (Sherry), Brian (Katie). Her grandchildren -Jayda, Kyle, Cory, Calley, Chris, Colin, Tyrel, Quinlin, Benjamin, Tyson and Colton. Her great-grandchildren - Madison and Ayvah. Margaret was predeceased by her parents - Joseph and Madeline Stuffco and her brother Robert. Margaret will be lovingly remembered for her abundance of talents which included her love of gardening, baking, sewing and most of all spending time with family. She will be dearly missed by her family and numerous friends. SMITH Douglas John June 16, 1927 - October 16, 2009 Doug passed away peacefully with his family at his side. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Florence (nee Keeping), and his six daughters Donna (Derek) deJong, Deborah (Wayne) Silverson, Patricia (Nick) Socher, Sharon (Mel) Matychuk, Susan (Gerard) Burke, Lynn (Joe) Stalzer; his two sons Doug Jr. (Lanie) and Greg (Teresa). Also left to cherish his memory are seventeen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, his sisters Edith (Pat) Fleming and Ellen (Bernie) McCorry both of Herring Cove, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Doug was predeceased by seven brothers and two sisters. Doug had a few years in the Merchant Navy then started his career in railroading starting with C.N.Rail in Halifax then transferring to Vancouver in 1958. Later with Via Rail from which he retired in 1982. Later he became associated with Rocky Mountain Rail Tours by contracting his services with them. The Smith family wish to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Rollheiser and Dr. Harold Stefanyk for care and devotion not just to Doug, but to all the family. Words cannot express our extreme appreciation for the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home, a fantastic facility and very excellent staff. EUVERMAN Colleen nee McGladery Our dear Irish mother was shockingly taken from us in the early morning of October 16, 2009. We can not express how much she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered every single day by her six children, Natalie, Shannon (Tim), Kim (Darryl), Tyrone, Chad and Michael. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, Samantha, Sarah, Brady, Corey, Jacqueline, Collin, Magdaline, Roarke, Connor, Brennen, Rylan and Liam and her 8 siblings. TIDBALL , Ruben (Edwin) 1921 - 2009 On Wednesday, October 14, 2009 Ruben Tidball passed away peacefully with family at his side. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Herdis, son Dennis (Donna) of Edmonton, daughter Cheryl (Jim) Doty, six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Ruben was born and raised in the Carstairs locale where he became a farmer. In 1965 Ruben and family left the farm and moved to Carstairs where he managed the Pioneer Grain Elevator and worked for some of the local farmers. In 1970 Ruben and Herdis moved to Calgary where he did security work then worked for AGT. Once fully retired in 1982, Ruben and Herdis moved to Olds. In July 2009 they relocated to Edmonton. The family wishes to express appreciation to doctors and staff at the Olds Hospital and most recently at the University of Alberta Hospital (Emergency/Unit 5D3) for the support and care provided. MITCHELL Kathleen Mary (nee Terrell) 1931 - 2009 It is with love and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother on October 9, 2009 at the age of 78. Predeceased by her husband Jack in 1995. She is survived by her son Paul and daughter Gail (Todd), sisters Betty Robertson of Oakville, Ont. and Irene Hardiment, Rexdale, Ont. (Frank), brother-in-law Bill Mitchell (Linda) of Barriere, BC, brother-in-law Paul Mitchell (Becky) of Richmond Hill, Ont. and great-granddaughter Santana as well as many nieces and nephews. Kathy was born and raised in Weston, Ontario and moved back and forth across Canada, eventually settling and residing in Surrey, B.C. Kathy was an active fundraiser for the BC Cancer Society. She will be greatly missed by all her friends and family. In lieu of flowers, a donation to either the Surrey SPCA or The Canadian Cancer Society would be a welcome acknowledgement. The family greatfully acknowledges the staff and care at Surrey Memorial Hospital. Cremation was handled by First Memorial Funeral Services - Fraser Heights. MYLTOFT Ilene Mary (nee Philbrook)July 28, 1938 - October 11, 2009 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother Ilene Mary Myltoft. Ilene passed away peacefully at Mission Memorial Hospital with her family by her side, after a long, courageous battle with lung disease. She bravely fought the disease for many years, always keeping a positive attitude and never losing her joy for life. llene is now re-united in heaven with Ove, her loving husband of 44 years. She was predeceased by her parents Fred and Loie, and brothers Jim and Allan. She is survived by her children Richard (Mary), Sandra (Rod) and Kirk (Tamara). Granddaughters Jennifer, Candice, Sasha, Brianna, and Nikita, grandsons Ryan and Brandon and great granddaughter Shaelynn (her little angel), and many relatives and friends. A very special thanks to Jamie and all the nursing staff at M.M.H. for their kindness and compassion during this most difficult time. We are truly grateful. EGGEN, Marie Josephine "Jo" On Thursday October 15, 2009 Marie "Jo" Eggen of Edmonton, AB passed away after a short battle with cancer, at the age of 86 years. Jo is survived by her loving family; her sons Gary (Sandy) and David (Naomi); granddaughter, Brittany Eggen, and sister-in-law Mary Forman of England. CHOUINARD Marcel John March 14, 1944 - October 12, 2009 Marcel passed away peacefully on October 12, 2009 in Richmond. Marcel was born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and raised in Vancouver, B.C. Marcel had a brief career as a singer in the 60's including performances on CBC TV's "Lets' Go", remember "Louie, Louie". During the 70's he was an announcer for the West Coast Appaloosa Horse Club. He is survived by his sisters; Maureen (Bob) Rollinson and Natalie Chouinard, stepmother Suzanne Chouinard, daughter Ramona (Andy) Williams and granddaughter Santanna (Joe) Andrews. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins, loving friends and bingo buddies. A memorial service will be held on 11:00 a.m., October 24, 2009 at First Memorial Funeral Home, 602 Kingsway, Vancouver, B.C. MARCOTTE Helen June 15, 1923 - October 12, 2009 Helen Marcotte (nee Buchnia) passed away peacefully in her sleep at 1:40am on October 12, 2009 at Ruskin Hill (Baillie House) in Maple Ridge. She was preceded in death by her son Wayne and husband Onile (Neil). She is survived by her daughters Donna (John) and Debbie, her son Doug and sister Vicki Zaplachinski as well as many nieces, nephews and good friends. Besides being a loving wife and mother, she enjoyed sewing, needlework and all types of crafts. Helen loved to bake homemade bread and make her famous cabbage rolls and perogies. She loved to entertain and always had a houseful of parties, cards or just visiting. Helen was Past President and a Lifetime Member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Army, Navy & Air Force Beterans in Canada, Pompier 314. Helen and Neil travelled extensively in their retirement years all over Canada and the United States and they took cruises as well as trips to China and the Cook Islands, Helen was a loving, kind and gentle soul, a wonderful Mother, wife and friend. She leaves behind many happy and special memories for all who knew and loved her. She always was and will be our Angel. Special thanks to Dr. Botha and the Staff at Ruskin Hill at Baillie House for the extraordinary compassion, affection and care they provided to our Mother in the 5 years she was in their care. WILSON, Craig March 26, 1935-October 15, 2009 Craig was born in Sawyerville, Quebec and attended school in Ottawa. Predeceased by his parents, Carmen & Myrtle Wilson and brother Barry, he is survived by his loving wife Marilyn, beloved children, Valerie (Chris) Barnabe of Kanata, ON. and Stephen (Renee) Wilson of Tsawwassen, BC. Craig is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Dylan & Maris Barnabe and Blair & Rebecca Wilson, sister Gayle (Charles) Argue of Metcalf, ON and Valerie & Stephen's mother, Margaret Wilson of Kanata, ON. Craig worked for the Scotiabank for nearly 40 years before retiring in 1993. Some of his fondest memories were the annual visits with his daughter, fishing trips with his son, holidays in Maui and time spent with his grandchildren.
