Née le 7 février 1941, elle était fille de feu Lemable et Annie (Fougère) LeBlanc. Elle laisse dans le deuil son époux, Alonzo Cormier, ses quatre filles: Lorraine (Tilmon) Boucher, Annette (Don)Lirette, Doris, Sherissa; ses neuf fils: Roger (Darlene), Donald (Thérèse), Omer (Diane), Tilmon (Sharmaine), Daniel (Nicole), Michel (Mélissa), Robert et Clarence; six soeurs: Émilia Caissie, Aurella (Arthur) LeBlanc, Eva Koach, Stella (Armand) LeBlanc, Laurianne (Donald), Marie LeBlanc; deux frères: Paul et Raymond; trente et un petits-enfants, plusieurs arrière-petits-enfants, ainsi que plusieurs nièces et neveux. CHAMPAGNE, Suzanne (née Nabis) - The family announces with sorrow, her death in Sudbury, Sunday, July 5, 2009 at the age of 63 years. Daughter of the late Marie Lafontaine (late William Nabis). Wife of the late Roger Champagne, predeceased in 2002. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Up until recently, Suzanne was a long time resident of St-Charles. The kindness of her heart won the affection of all who knew her. She will be remembered for having been devoted to her community as a Colombiette member as well as a volunteer member for seniors. In her leisure time, she much enjoyed knitting. In keeping with Suzanne's request, there will be no visitation and no funeral service. Interment will be held at a later date. HODGE, Marjorie Mavis (nee Atkins) - Of Warren, Ontario (formerly of Nitro and Bury, Quebec). Passed away at home on Sunday, January 11th, 2009 in her 82nd year. She was a vivacious, independent, enthusiastic, and caring person who enjoyed family, friends, traveling, gardening and nature. She was born in Huron, North Dakota, daughter of the late Clara and Walter Atkins. Predeceased by her husband Austin Hodge (1973) and her brother Raynerd Atkins (1955). Loving mother of Brian, Bruce, Angela Sampson and Brent. Dear grandmother of seven: David, Valerie, Brandy and Christopher Sampson, Kurtis, Naomi and Liam. Mother-in-law to Marcia, Anne-Marie, Zoe, and Katie. Marjorie will be missed by her many friends and family. Survived by his brothers Dick (Adri) of Holland, Henk of B.C. and Chris (Fran) of St.Catharines. Predeceased by his parents Cornelis and Nellie. Brother-in-law to Betty (Bill) Bartelds, Spike (Donalda) van der Weide, Gerry (Sandy) van der Weide and Renie (Rob) Underhill. Dad was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 613 Fonthill and spent many years volunteering his time. The last few years he spent his time building the outdoor patio for the Legion which they dedicated to him last summer “Cor's Corner“. Friends will be received by the family from 1-3 pm. Born in Brampton, Ontario, January 6, 1916, where she resided until she married her husband Stephen, June 30, 1940. They moved to the Niagara Peninsula in the 40's where they resided until 2006 when they moved to Pictou County, NS on Bernice's 90th birthday. She was a member of the C.W.L. for 71 years. She will be lovingly missed by her husband Stephen; children, Helen Salter (Glynn), Salem, Pictou County; Christine Bullock (Wayne), Grimsby, Ont.; Ed Johnson (Trudi), NOTL, Ont.; Mary Sitarski, Ottawa, Ont.; six grandchildren, Lorrianne Tonellato, Dwayne Johnson, Sheryl Johnson, Stephen Stecyk, Wade Salter, and Amanda (Cox); and six great- grandchildren, Catherine Redmond, Alexandra Tonellato, Matthew Tonellato, Spencer Cameron, Graceanna Stecyk, and Hartleigh Stecyk. Bernice was the last surviving member of her immediate Mocon family, excepting a sister-in-law Kay Mocon, Brampton., Ont., and is also predeceased by an infant son Stephen. Visitations will be held on Tuesday at EAGLES FUNERAL HOME, Westville, Nova Scotia. Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Church of the Holy Name, Westville. Burial will be in Seaview Cemetery. Bernice, lovingly known as Mama & Babci, will forever be remembered for her kind and gentle nature-sadly missed but never forgotten in our hearts. GUYETT, Mr. Roy Donald - passed away Saturday July 4, 2009 at Copper Terrace Long Term Care Facility in his 90th year. Later he worked for over 20 years at Bob's Tires. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. STEWART, Harold Cameron (Blackie) 2009-07-07 Harold Cameron Stewart (Blackie) 1929 - 2009 Harold passed to his final resting place on July 5th, 2009 with his family and friends by his side. Harold was born in Hurkett, Ontario, Sept. 30th, 1929. His family lived at Stewart Lake until 1941. At 12 years of age his family moved to Port Arthur (Thunder Bay). Harold worked at Manitoba Elevators for 26 years, leaving in 1978 to open up "Blackfoot Minnows" where he was the owner and operator until the sale of the business in 1982. Harold then trapped and sold leeches until 1995 when he fully retired. Harold was predeceased by his mother Violet Speak, father Harold Stewart Sr., sisters Helen Gilbert and Evelyn Russow, brothers Clifford Stewart and Stanley Stewart. Harold is survived by sisters Mona LeClerc (Denny), Thelma Osadic (Ed), and Shirley Hoard Harold/Dad/ Grampa and Greatgrampa you will be sadly missed by daughters Joyce Hogg (Jamie), Eydie Stewart (Darby), Cindy Carberry. Grandchildren: Erin Leduc (Jessi), Audrey Turpin, Stacey Hogg, Trevor Hogg. Great grandchildren: Hayden Cattani, Deegan Wade. BARBER , Wendy Joan January 22, 1951 - July 6, 2009 Wendy Barber passed away in Drumheller, Alberta on July 6, 2009 at the age of 58 years. Wendy was born in Drumheller and grew up in the Carbon area. She raised a family of four boys on a farm just east of Carbon. In recent years, she treasured her visits with family, especially her five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She loved to travel and enjoyed many golf courses around the world. All family will miss her dearly. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons: Trevor (Lisa) Sowerby, Daniel (Ginette) Sowerby, and Michael Sowerby; stepfather Leonard Davies; siblings: Jacquie (Alvin) McLean, Gary (Grace) Barber and Nancy Fediuk. Loving father of Craig, Glen and Kevin and father-in-law of Janice, Heloise and Michelle. Cherished brother of William (Bill); proud grandfather of Matthew, Braydon, Theodore and Alexander. Garry will be missed by his former colleagues from Niagara College, where he taught drafting and design for over 35 years. Also, a longtime member of the St. Catharines Roadrunners Club, Garry will be sadly missed as a supporter and participant at the local races. ELLIOTT, Mrs. Marcella Joy - went home to be with her dear Lord Saturday July 4, 2009 at Meadow Park Nursing Home. Born October 9, 1920 in Guelph. Daughter of the late Adam and Anna Ziemann. Sadly missed by her children Dr. Barrie and Stella Elliott of Clinton, Sharlene and John Cowan of Chatham and daughter in law Maureen Elliott of Owen Sound. Predeceased by 2 dear sons, Philip (1974) and Rev. Dr. Mark Elliott (2007), loving husband Edgar (1988) and dear sister Olga Ingle (2000). Also sadly missed by grandchildren Jason and Lisa Kearns, Tara Demakos (Christian), Melanie and Joe Poulin, Adam Cowan (Rachel), Nicholas Cowan (Jen), Joshua and Lori Elliott, Kristen Elliott and Ian Munro and Joel Elliott. Paris and Denver Poulin and Ella Demakos dearly miss their great grandma. BURTON, Barbara (nee Tolmonan) - Aug 26, 1931 - July 5,2009. Mom was born in Toronto to Vieno Tolmonan, but was raised by Emil and Ida Stickman in Cochrane Ontario. Mom came with some friends, for a two week vacation to St. Catharines and liked it so much here, that she returned a month later to stay for good. She made many trips back to Cochrane over the years to visit family and friends. While working at the Grange restaurant she met her future husband. Mom was predeceased by her husband Percy (Apr 30, 1996) after 48 years of marriage. Loving mother of Mal (Nancy) of Hamilton, Heather Purnell (David) of N-O-T-L, Wendy Wheaton (Edward) and Mark (Becky) of St. Catharines. Mom will always be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Jeromy, Lisa , Jennifer, Ryan, Brittany, Caitlyn, Donovan, Stephanie, Gregory, Meaghan, Noah and great grandchildren Sarah, Hailey and Jesse. Mom was a long time member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church CWL, The Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 138 & 17 for 6 years and the RCL Ladies Auxiliary for 43 years, TOPS ON#31 for 40 years, Driver/delivery for Meals on Wheels for 36 years, past member of Thorold Senior Assoc and CAW Retirees. Mom loved bingo, bowling and darts, not to mention playing the odd one arm bandit. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the PATRICK J DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 39 Court St Catharines Ontario (905-685-6584). The Legion will be having a service at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Vigil Prayers will be held at 7pm Wednesday.
