Mrs. Lena Cullen, Charlottetown Born in 23/05/1927 at Charlottetown , Prince Edward Island , Canada The death occurred at her late residence on Monday, June 29, 2009, of Lena Mae Cullen (nee Stewart) of Vail Dr., Charlottetown, and formerly of Hampshire, in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of the late Tom Cullen. Loving mother to Marjorie “Marge” (Barry) Gass, Mermaid; Joyce Collinson, Charlottetown; Daniel “Butch” (Judie) Stewart, Meadowbank; Helen Gallant, Hamilton, Ontario; Brian Stewart, Charlottetown; Sandra (Steve) Hughes, Charlottetown; Sheila (Ian) Gallant, St. Albert, Alberta; Sterling (Florence) Cullen, Red Deer, Alberta; Wayne (Glenda) Cullen, Charlottetown; Brad Cullen, Charlottetown; and Sheldon (Carrie) Cullen, Cornwall. JAGGARD, Charles Norman "Buck" 2009-06-30 Mr. Charles Norman "Buck" Jaggard, age 42 years, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 28, 2009. Charles was born on June 9, 1967 in Fort William where he attended Crawford St. School and Westgate C.V.I.. For the past 15 years he worked as a Technicians Assistant for nondestructive testing and was a member of the Boilermakers Union 128. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, movies and the computer. Charles is survived by his wife Elizabeth; sons Michael and Justin; parents Tom Jaggard and Edith Howard; sisters Debbie (Rick), Patty (Henrick), Tracy (Clayton) and Charmin (Ronny) and brother Robert (Karen). Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Predeceased by his grandparents Norman and Phoebe Jaggard and Florence and Art McDermott. Funeral services for the late Mr. Charles "Buck" Jaggard will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 3, 2009 in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore St. at James with Mr. Brian Grant officiating. FAIR, Merridee-Anne February 17, 1971 - June 28, 2009 It is with great sadness over our loss that her family announces Merridee's passing away peacefully at the Kingston General Hospital. Merridee was the beloved daughter of Jeannie Fair and Mike (Wendy) Fair of Smiths Falls and formerly of Oshawa. She is survived by her sisters Kristine Fair-Clemmens and Wendy LeBrun (Norman) and is lovingly remembered by her partner Mark Flynn and as "stepmonster" to his son Zachary. Sister-in-law of Brian Clemmens of London. Auntie Merridee will be remembered by Rebecca and Danielle LeBrun and Caitlin and Mitchell Clemmens. She was a special "Mommy" to her dog Chevy, her cats and bunny. Mourned by her grandmother Jean Kellar and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends in Oshawa and Smiths Falls. Merridee had been a Juvenile Diabetic from the age of 9 and was the inspiration for a charity golf tournament held for 19 years at the Smiths Falls Golf Club. The tournament featured family friend Bobby Orr and raised a total of $365,000.00 for the cause of Juvenile Diabetes Research. A special thank you to all the doctors, nurses at the Smiths Falls Dialysis Unit and the Kingston General Hospital Staff. OBITUARY REV. FATHER LOUIS VAN GOOL Died suddenly on June 25, 2009 at the age of seventy-six. Born in Utrecht, The Netherlands on June 8, 1933 to the late Louis Van Gool and the late Josepha Van den Broek. Beloved brother of Thea (Casey), Rudy (Barbara), Eddy (Christine), and Hetty (Lambert). Dear uncle to nieces and nephews, Maria, Peter, Karl, Kristoffer, Karisma, and Miranda. Dear great-uncle to Alexa, Maya, Justin, Emily, Claire, Gillian and Anne-Liese. He will be dearly missed by his extended family, friends and colleagues. Father Louis was ordained to the priesthood on September 24, 1976. A series of appointments as curate followed at St. Jean Brebeuf, St. Gabriel's, and St. John Fisher. He was also chaplain at Sacred Heart School of Montreal for more than seven years. In 1984 he was appointed pastor of Corpus Christi where he remained for eighteen years. He then served as assistant at St. Patrick's Basilica from 2003 until retirement in 2007. Upon retirement Father Louis remained in residence at St. Patrick's and continued to minister to God's people. Father Louis had great devotion and love of the liturgy and especially loved to celebrate God's mercy in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. He quietly ministered to the poor, the sick, the elderly and those on the fringes of society. BURNS , Kenneth Marwood "Ken" February 24, 1935 - June 27, 2009 Ken Burns passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on June 27, 2009 at the age of 74 years. Ken enjoyed over fifty-five years in the oil industry. He invented and successfully patented the Pipe Alignment Tool which is successfully used on oil rigs all over Alberta. He was always near a phone which rang constantly to answer questions and solve problems. Ken loved spending time with family and friends, often sharing an entertaining tale or two. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his Tuesday round with the boys as well as tournaments and family golf games. Ken will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him and will be remembered for his innumerable kind acts and his undying generosity. Ken is survived by loving wife of forty-eight years Jean, his daughters, Tracey (Doug), Heather; grandchildren, Sean, Shelby, Justin (Chantel), Christinna (Cody), and Ken; sister, Vivian Bruce; sisters-in-law, Fern (John), Eve (Frank); numerous nieces, nephews and many, many friends. FISHER , Sarah Lillian (nee Christie) July 21, 1923 - June 27, 2009 Sarah Lillian Fisher passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the age of 85 years. Sarah was born in the Vulcan area, however she lived most of her life in Calgary, where she and her husband Bill raised their family. Sarah displayed a great sense of faith and devotion to her church, Richmond Hill Baptist, and was blessed to have her family and friends to share her life with. Sarah's faith has left a lifelong legacy for her family, for which we are eternally grateful. Sarah will be dearly missed by her three sons, Rod, David, Craig (Tina) Fisher; two grandsons, Tyler Fisher of Calgary and Scott (Ricki) Fisher of Toronto, ON; numerous nieces and nephews and their families; and some very close lifelong friends. MALANOWSKI , Czeslaw October 16, 1931 - June 26, 2009 Czeslaw Malanowski, beloved husband of Aleksandra (deceased), and a father of Czeslawa, Maria and Aleksander, passed away in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on Friday, June 26, 2009 at the age of 77 years. Czeslaw was born on October 16, 1931 in Siedlec, Poland, and grew up in Tymienica, an area in Poland. While he lived in Poland he was a farmer. Czeslaw married Aleksandra in Lodz, Poland in 1971 and they immigrated to Canada where they started their married life together. The Lord blessed the loving couple with three children, Czeslawa, Maria, and Aleksander, who will remember their beloved father forever. He will also be lovingly remembered by his extended family in Poland and Canada. Czeslaw was a hard-working and dedicated father to his children. He was their whole world, the best father anyone could ever have. Czeslaw was gentle, sweet and a fun-loving father that protected his children from anything and everything, and would never give up on them. He was always there first when they needed a hand or a smile. In their eyes no one can ever be better than their father. Also, Czeslaw was a cheerful friend to many. Czeslaw worked for The City of Calgary for twenty-five years until his retirement in 1996. The family will always remember him for his bright smiles and helpful hands. He was especially talented at gardening and carpentry and spent many hours outdoors tending to his vegetables and flowers. He was known to have the best gardens in the neighbourhood. Anyone who knew Czeslaw Malanowski knew he was a great, wise man and will be greatly missed by everyone. We always will remember Czeslaw in our thoughts, prayers and will keep him close to our hearts. We all know that Czeslaw will be watching us from heaven, especially when we plant something. Helen MacGregor, (Nellie) peacefully at St Joseph's Lifecare Centre on Feb 12th, 2009; predeceased by her husband Clayton 1987 and her son Carvell in 1999. Survived by her daughter in law, Mary, Houlton Maine, and Grandchildren Mark and Heather. Also survived by son Frank, Saint John, NB, and daughter Sheila Ellis (Richard), Brantford, ON, grandsons Allen, (Fresia) Peter (Lubna), and Ross Tracey, and daughter Valerie Ringrose (Les), Waterford, ON, Grandchildren Heather, Shannon, Siobhan, Brendan, and Flynn. Also survived by Great Grandchildren, Ellen and Rachael Hatfield, Heidi, Ryan and Ross Wilcox, Adam and Shaan, and Grace Tracey. Helen immigrated from Scotland at the age of 11, married and brought up her family in Woodstock, NB, where she eventually opened the first Hairdressing School in NB, as well as Modern Beauty Salons in Woodstock and Nackiwac, and finally one in Houlton Maine, eventually retiring in her early 80's. For many years she worked with the NB Hairdressing Association, and was involved in travelling all over the world with the US Cosmetology Association She was also very active with Woodstock Weavers for many years, and the Eastern Stars. Her first love was the game of Bridge she received her Masters in l980. Hilda Ms. Watson age 95, passed away May 17, 2009 at the Upper River Valley Hospital. She was born in Nackawic, the daughter of Warren and Almeda Moores. She resided in the Woodstock area from the age of seventeen. She married Jack Watson and resided in Upper Woodstock until moving to Woodstock in 1947, and remained in her home until her death. She was a life long member of St. Luke's Anglican Church where she was a member of St. Luke's Guild and the Anglican Church Women. She is survived by daughters Marion Robinson (Carl) and Pam Smart (John); Grandchildren, Elizabeth Gallant (Barry) Greg Robinson, Lynn McKinley (Chris) Lisa McKinley (Sheldon) Dick Monteith (Carrie) Andrew Smart, Brad Smart (Mary) Katie Smart (Nathan); Great grandchildren Danielle and Jonathan Gallant, Melissa Dukeshire, Cally and Jack McKinley, Makayla Chase, Brooke and Cody McKinley, Elisha, Courtney, Amy, Emma and Morgan Monteith; Great great grandchildren: Natalie and Haley Michaud, Izaiha Monteith; niece Marguerite Murray (Tom) and Bud Lee (Treva). She took great interest in all her "children" providing dinners for each as they progressed through middle school and provided each household with cookies, brown bread or squares. She loved to cook and bake. No visitor left without a lunch. She was predeceased by her husband Jack, brothers Hedley and Murray, sisters Violet and Ruby, granddaughter Catherine Monteith. Funeral service was held May 20, 2009 from St. Luke's Anglican Church with Rev. Chris Hayes officiating, Layreader was Kim Rae-Niles & St. Luke's Choir and soloist Andrea Anderson provided the music. Songs sung were "Prayer of St. Francis" & "Be Not Afraid" & "Spirit of the Living God" & "O God, Unseen Yet Every Near". Sandra Culberson was the organist. Owen Eugene Murray On Saturday, June 6, 2009, at the Upper River Valley Hospital, of Woodstock, N.B. passed away at the age of 82 years. Born at Woodstock, NB, January 29, 1927 to the late Donald and Alma (Blackmore) Murray, Owen did farm work in the area and was employed by the Department of Transportation for 31 years, a member of St. Gertrude's parish and an active member of the K of C for several years.
