BENSTEAD, Peter M. - As a result of a motor vehicle accident on Highway 400, Peter M. Benstead passed away on Monday June 15, 2009, at the age of 46. Beloved husband and best friend of Laurie. Cherished father of Scott and Kelly. Loving son of Lois King. Much loved brother of Gail McDonald. Cherished son-in-law of Bill and Sydney Rivais. He enjoyed the loyal companionship of his dog Max, who survived the accident. Peter will be dearly missed by his extended family, many close friends and business associates. COTNAM, Joanna “Josie“ nee Gray - Peacefully at Pembroke Regional Hospital on Tuesday June 16, 2009 in her 86th year. Anyone who ever looked into Josie's eyes would know they were in the presence of a special person. She was kind, loving, funny and always giving and forgiving. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother! Josie was the daughter of the late Mary-Jane D'Arcy and Francis Gray and was born on January 18, 1924. She was a teacher in Sheenboro, an awesome skier, elegant dancer and an avid card player-45 or euchre. She married Clayton Cotnam on September 26, 1945, her love and soul mate forever. They would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this fall. Together they had 9 children: Wayne (Barbara), Dan (Lynn), David (Ann), Joanne (Mike O'Connor), Janie (Randy Atwater), Nancy (Martin Adibe), Patsy (Steve Snell), Mary (Brian O'Connor) and Aileen (Trevor Romain). Josie is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren: Wade and Krista Cotnam, Ian and Raychel Cotnam (Cole, Jade and Kyle), Jay and Mandy Cotnam, Jody Cotnam (Sean Trenholm) (Connell and Nevin), Dana Cotnam, Amy Cotnam (Mike Brislinger) Derek Cotnam (Angela Houghton), Ryan Cotnam (Sylvia Tessier) (Enan and Aidan), Alison O'Connor (Andrew Melcher) (Jaylan), Heather O'Connor (Justin Boxall) (Hadleigh), Kevin Atwater, Travis Atwater, Benjamin Stalkie , Robert Stalkie, Michael Adibe, Danielle Adibe, Jennifer Snell, Laura Snell, Matthew O'Connor, Marc O'Connor, Marisa O'Connor, Joey Lepine, Jeff Lepine, Jessica Lepine. SMUCK, William “Bill“ - It is with great sadness that the family of Bill Smuck announce his passing at the Brantford General Hospital, on Wednesday, June 17th, 2009 in his 74th year. Bill is the much loved husband and best friend of the late Jackie (2003). He is survived by his sister Linda (Wayne) Borman, of Niagara Falls. Predeceased by his parents William and Leona, and his sister Joan Smuck. Bill worked at the Brant Dairy for over 50 years, retiring upon it's closing. Clarence "Jr." Campbell passed away peacefully at Hotel Dieu of St. Joseph Hospital on June 2, 2009. Born in Arthurette on March 15, 1942, he was the son of the late Barry and Ellen (McCarty) Campbell. Jr. leaves behind his wife Jean Campbell (Jenkins); his daughters Kelly Crossman (Kevin) of Bairdsville, Kristina Craig (Tony) of Craig's Flat; his sons Kevin Campbell (Julie) of Arthurette, Kirk Campbell of Fredericton; his sister Twila MacKellar of Arthurette; his brother David Campbell (Sue) of Ottawa; seven grandsons and one granddaughter. Jr. was a truck driver for Fraser Lumber and a member of the Anderson Road Knights of Columbus. Funeral service was held on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 2 pm from St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Father Curtis Sappier celebrated. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery. Music for the service was by organist Kenneth Campbell and the Community Choir. The eulogy was given by Clarence's son, Kirk Campbell. The urn was carried by Clarence's grandson, Edward Crossman.
