La famille Monette a le regret de vous annoncer le décès de Mme Lucille Monette (née Plouffe) décédée le 27 avril 2009, à l'âge de 89 ans. Elle était l'épouse de feu Wilfrid Monette et la fille de feu Alfred Plouffe et de feu Yvonne Barre. Elle laisse dans le deuil son fils Pierre (Nicole Goyette) ainsi que 7 petits-enfants et 15 arrière-petits-enfants; ses frères: Robert (Claire Huneault) et Jacques (Pauline Matte); ses soeurs: Yvette (feu Hervé Bertrand) et Pierrette (Jean-Claude Villeneuve) ainsi que plusieurs beaux-frères, belles-soeurs, neveux, nièces, cousin(e)s et ami(e)s. Elle fut prédécédée par ses filles: Madeleine et Suzanne (Rhéal Boissonneault); ses fils: Gilbert ( Raymonde Gagnon) et Lucien (Suzanne Lapensée); sa soeur Noella (feu René Gagnon) ainsi que ses frères: Jean-Paul (feu Thérèse Barette), Raymond (Julienne Côté). Il n'y aura pas de visites à la maison funéraire. KUTKA, Jonas “John” - Passed away peacefully at the Welland Hospital on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Aldona. Loving father of Dalia Littlewood and Arunas Kutka (Heather). Cherished Papa of Krysha, Emma and Kate. He was predeceased by his parents, 2 brothers and 5 sisters in Lithuania. Jonas was born in Lithuania on May 28, 1918 and came to Welland in 1948. He worked at Page Hersey for 33 years until his retirement in 1982. He was an avid woodcarver and golfer and a member at Westbrook Golf Course for many years. Friends are invited to call at J.J. ORIEUX, Roland J. (Rollie) - Roland J. Orieux passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, April 30, 2009. Rollie was the best friend and beloved husband of Dorothy Jean (nee Cameron) whom he loved unequivocally. Over their 65 years of marriage, Rollie and Dorothy were blessed with nine children, 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Rollie was a tremendous role model to his family, gently guiding them and sharing his wisdom with diplomacy and humour. Rollie was a compassionate man who wanted no acknowledgement for his many acts of charity and good will. Much admired for his love of family and friends, his quiet charisma, his professionalism, sense of duty and his exceptional sense of humour. Rollie could always find the silver lining in any dark cloud and would want us all to embrace his “joie de vivre.” He had an exemplary career in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1943 to 1973. Following his discharge as a Major, he was employed in the Public Service of Canada from 1973 to 1986 at which time he retired to enjoy a variety of pleasant pastimes. He was well known for his fabulous gardens, his love of the outdoors and his formidable talents at the card table. Rollie was a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 445 Callander, where he served as Secretary; Treasurer; President; and Immediate Past President. His involvement with the Legion also included a five year term as Secretary- Treasurer of Zone H-2. Rollie was born in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, the proud son of Aristide Orieux and Anna Leclerc. He was predeceased by one son Glenn who always held a special place in his heart. He was also predeceased by four brothers, Achille, Edmond, Fredolin, and John and sister Marie Maria. Left to cherish his memory are sons Brian (Nancy) of Barrie, Keith (Michelle) Nanaimo, Dane (Chantal) Kingston and daughters Linda Belanger (Robert) Kingston, Marilyn Tignanelli (Elio) North Bay, Sharon Linkie (David) Callander, Gail Orieux (Callander), and Lisa Bertrand (Len) Kingston. Also left to mourn him are brother Roger (Eileen)' sisters Mary-Anne Concilla, Yvonne Jaworski, and very special sister-in-law Margaret McCallen of Winnipeg. The family wishes to offer special thanks to Rollie's “second family” the remarkable care givers at East Holme Powassan. Every one of you made Rollie last years a time of happiness and contentment. You have left an indelible memory of compassion and loving attention that far transcends any expectation. It was evident that Rollie loved you and you him. MALONE, Dr. Robert Willcox - Beloved father and husband Dr. (Professor) Robert Willcox Malone, age 69, passed away unexpectedly of heart failure on Sunday, April 26 at his residence in Chippawa, Ontario, Canada. Robert was born February 19, 1940 in Washington D.C. Robert's zest for life, his brilliant intellect, his love of profound and engaging conversations, and his compassion for humanity led him to live a full and interesting life. Robert received his PhD in philosophy from the University of Miami in Coral Gables in 1971. He also held a Master's degree in mathematics and a BA in philosophy from the University of Florida. Robert had retired from his work as a Professor of Philosophy at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario, (1971-2004). He was a much-loved professor and truly found his calling in his work. Before moving to Canada with his family in 1971, Robert worked on the Apollo moon landing at NASA in Cape Canaveral, Florida in the summers of 1968 and 1969. He also taught mathematics at Rollins College, in Winter Park, Florida (1966-1969). One of Robert's achievements of which he and his family were especially proud was his organizing and hosting of the International conference Science, Sanity and Global Responsibility at Brock University (1988). Robert's interests were wide and included reading books on a variety of subjects such as psychology, politics, and science. He also played the guitar, built and flew radio- controlled model airplanes, practiced amateur astronomy and enjoyed learning about the possibility of extra-terrestrial life. He was very interested in computers and owned one of the first personal computers developed by Apple. Music moved him deeply, especially classical music. Robert was a loving father and was especially proud of his two daughters Erin and Kate. He frequently commented on how much he loved his granddaughter Sarah. Robert spent his childhood in Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland. He also lived in Japan when he was in third grade. He spoke about his school in Japan where he loved the experience of singing in parts in a choir. Robert went to University in Florida. He spent most of his working years living in St. Catharines, Ontario. Since his retirement and marriage in 2004, Robert spent time in Lothian, Maryland and Chippawa, Ontario. Robert's parents were Robert Malone, Sr. and Elizabeth (Betty) Shu (nee Sleeper). He was married May 2, 1964 to Ellen Louise Wilson. They divorced in 1982. On July 17th, 2004 Robert married Mary Mac Chaney Malone in Lothian, Maryland. Robert is survived by his wife Mary Mac, his daughter Erin Nielsen and her husband Warren of Fremont, California and Kate Baldwin and her husband Dan of Langley, British Columbia, his granddaughter Sarah Nielsen (Fremont, California) and his brother Larry Shu of Holly Hill, Florida. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 2nd at 2:00 pm at Christ Church in Owensville, Maryland. A reception will follow at the home of Mary Mac Chaney Malone. 11495153

Mrs. Irene Lillian Daintrey June 4, 1923 - April 26, 2009 - Irene Lillian Daintrey June 4, 1923 - April 26, 2009 It is with deep sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Irene Daintrey at the age of 85 years on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at St. Paul’s Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, Alan in 1981. Irene is survived by her three children, Marg (Allen) Olsen of Saskatoon, SK, Linda Walther of Calgary, AB, and Don (Loretta) Daintrey of Rosedale, BC; eight grandchildren, Rick (Jackie) McHaffie, Al (Tanis) McHaffie, Robert (Sandra) Peterson, Brian (Alina) Peterson, Alissa (Dave) Beck, Colin Daintrey (Sarah Matheson), Chrissy (David) McMillan, Melanie Olsen; and four great grandchildren, Addison Beck, Spencer Olsen, Zackary and Tate McMillan. Irene also leaves to mourn a brother, Telford (Vera) Harrison; her sisters-in-law, Nina and Clara; and her nieces and nephews, Pat, Wendy, Cindy, John, Bill, Robert and Margaret. Irene was predeceased by her parents, John (1988) and Eleanor (1935) Harrison; her brothers, Bob (1981) and John (2008) Harrison; and her niece, Terry Sawchuk (2007). Mom was born on June 4, 1923 in Broughten-In-Furness, Lancaster, England. She immigrated to Canada at a young age of 5 and her family homesteaded near Ridgedale, SK. She married Alan in 1941 and they continued to farm until their move to Saskatoon in 1956. Mom worked at the University of Saskatchewan in food services for 25 years, the last 10 years as head of the bakeshop. She was very proud of her work and often told us of the 30 dozen tarts, 20 gallons of pudding, hundreds of cookies and 75 pies she made every day for the students and faculty. Following her retirement from the University, Mom worked part-time in the cafeteria at the 33rd Street Co-op. Mom was an active member of TOPS for many years and made many life-long friends. She loved and took great pride in her home and with the help of family and friends was able to stay there until 2007 when her failing health necessitated a move to an assisted living facility and again in 2008 to a personal care home. Our heartfelt thanks go out to Carol Brosnan and her staff for the loving care they provided to Mom the last few months. We would also like to thank her family physician, Dr. Ron Kostyniuk, and the nursing staff at St. Paul’s Hospital for the compassionate care provided to Mom. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Mayfair United Church, 902 33rd Street West, Saskatoon, SK, officiated by Rev. Deb Walker. Dear sister to Pat, Helene, Leslie, Margaret and Emmett Burrell, Frances was a loving mother and mother in-law of Lynda Ley, Leslie Waters, John and Margaret Gartley, Keith and Lee Gartley, Chris and Faye Gartley. BOT, Bernard H. ~ “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith“ Hebrews 12 Verse 2 - On Tuesday, April 28, 2009, Bernard Bot went home to be with the Lord. Bernard was born in The Hague, November 13th, 1920. He was the youngest of 6 children. Bernard married his true love Trudy on July 3rd, 1947 and immigrated to Canada in 1954. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings and by Trudy, his loving wife of 61 years. He was a very active member of the Christian Reformed Church, and freely volunteered his time to support the Christian Schools. In his retirement years he focused on his passion for gardening. Beloved father of Rudy (Rita), Liz VanEssen (Leon), Marilyn Pearn (Doug), and Julia Bot (Russ Roberts). Beloved grandfather of Elicia, Kevin, Stephen, Joel, Amanda and Kyle. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Redeemer Christian Reformed Church, 5834 Blackwell Side Road, Sarnia. She nursed at both Hotel Dieu Hospital and Metropolitan hospital. In addition, she worked in various dental and chiropractic offices during her career. She was a life long member of All Saints Anglican Church and served as president of the Chancel Guild for many years and left a lasting legacy of service to the Church. Mrs. Juliette Marie Anna Huot - April 28, 2009 - Peacefully, on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, Heaven has reclaimed an angel. Juliette was predeceased by her son Edouard in 1968, her husband Adolphe in 1989, five siblings; Thérèse, Jules, Marcel, Pierre, Marcien and Maurice (in infancy). Juliette leaves to cherish her memory her children, Jacqueline, Denis (Kathe), Marcel (Sylvie), 7 grandchildren Emily, Robert (Laura), Ryan, Danielle, Christian (Kristin), Jocelyne (Mike) and Adam (Amanda), 5 great grandchildren, she is also survived by her sister Lucille (Georges) Gauthier, brother Paul as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Juliette devoted her life to family and friends. She spent 35 summers at her cottage at Albert Beach and many called her the "Lady of the Lake". Her last five years were spent at L'Accueil Colombien which she enjoyed very much. The family would like to thank the staff at HSC, GD5 ward for their care and compassion. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 1st, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Boniface Cathedral, 190 ave de la Cathédrale. Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m. until time of mass. RIVERS, Mr. Wm. Gordon Rivers - William Gordon Rivers of Fonthill, passed away in his 83rd year on April 28, 2009, while in the Welland Hospital. Beloved husband of Mary and loving father of Terry Rivers and Patricia Ann Rivers; dear brother of Carol Knight, Len Rivers, and Marion Rivers; grandfather of Jacqueline, Nathan, Jennifer and Jessica Rivers. Gordon was born at Shoal Lake, Manitoba April 13, 1927 to Wm and Rose Rivers of the Decker area where he was raised on the family farm. His schooling eventually led, in 1947, to a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba. From 1945-1950 he served his country in the Royal Canadian Armored Corps where he obtained the rank of Lieutenant. In the mid 1950's Gordon settled into what would become his lifelong work as he joined the teaching profession and served as principal in several Consolidated Schools in rural Manitoba. Re-entering the Military in 1959 he taught as a naval Training Officer first in Esquimalt, BC, then Shearwater, Stadacona and Cornwallis, NS providing instruction in Mathematics, Physics and English. After leaving the Military in 1965 he and his family moved to Fonthill, where until his retirement he taught at E.L. Crossley High School. His was an intense passion for teaching and he felt a considerable weight of responsibility in the instruction of the younger generation as well as a great euphoria at his participation in their eventual accomplishments. Gordon has constantly been involved in Community service of one kind or another as an active member of the Fonthill United Church, Boy Scouts of Canada, The Canadian Red Cross, Torch Club, The Royal Canadian Legion and The Niagara Military Institute. At Gordon's request cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service for family and close friends will be conducted at the JAMES L. PEDLAR FUNERAL HOME, 1292 Pelham Street, Fonthill, on Saturday May 2, 2009 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Fonthill United Church Memorial Fund. 11494584

KEVOL , William (Bill) September 14, 1920 - April 14, 2009 Bill Kevol of Calgary passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the age of 88 years. Bill was born to Paul and Pauline Kevol of Ormiston, SK on September 14, 1920. He served with the Army during WWII from 1942 to 1946 in the Royal Canadian Engineers. After the war he moved to Victoria, B.C. and started his apprenticeship as a carpenter, where he worked for seventeen years. In 1947 he married Caroline Fiege of Markinch, SK and they had three beautiful children. The family moved to Calgary in 1964, where he worked for the City of Calgary for sixteen years, until his retirement, in the Parks Department as a cabinet maker, building picnic tables and renovating the Deane House. Dad enjoyed bowling and became very good at it, winning many trophies. Fishing also became a pastime which he developed a great passion for. Bill and Carol enjoyed square dancing together; and he spent many hours being an enthusiastic fan at his grandchildren's softball and hockey games. Bill is survived by his daughter Karen Won; son Garry; daughter-in-law Sherron; and grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Billy, Brian, and Beth; sisters, Dot and Nettie. Bill was predeceased by wife Carol in 2008; daughter Marilyn in 1984; his parents; sisters, Ann and Mary; brother Stan; and son-in-law Bob Won. Mr. Ronald William Siddall, husband of the late Ruth (Sherrard) Siddall of 320 Parker Road, NB passed away Saturday April 25, 2009 at Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 91. Born in England, he was the son of the late Fred and Bertha (Bush) Siddall. He was a retired self employed trucker. He was a member of the United Church. He is survived by one daughter; Carole Konesky of Port Howe N.S.; two sons; Dr. Hughie Siddall of Toronto; Robert Siddall (Aline) of Cassilis; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Besides his parents and his wife he was predeceased by two brothers; Derrick and Wilbur Siddall. Mr. Ronald William Siddall rested at Davidson's Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy, Miramichi, with visitation on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The Funeral Service was held Monday April 27, 2009, at 2 p.m. from Davidson's Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ross Wiseman officiating, assisted by Rev. Ron Feltmate. Organist was Shirley Estey. Soloist Esther Doucet rendered "Amazing Grace" and "Some call it Heaven, but I call it Home". Soloist Borden B. Davidson rendered "The Old Rugged Cross". The granddaughters led the congregation in some of Ronald's sing-along favorites "Daisy A Day", "You are my Sunshine" and "Four Leaf Clover". Special memories were given by Ronald's son Hugh Siddall. Burial will be in Williamstown United Cemetery at a later date. At the request of the family donations to Williamstown United Church would be appreciated. Active Pallbearers were: Colin Mullin, Peter Cortes, Lloyd Siddall, Donnie Craik, Richard Siddall and Frank Mullin. DeMARCE , Ruth Agnes (nee Smith) June 18, 1915 - April 27, 2009 Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Ruth passed away at Father Lacombe Care Centre in Calgary, AB on April 27, 2009. Ruth is survived by her children: Yvonne (Gerald) Martineau, Gayle (Stan) Howerton, Peggy (Harvey) Potter, and Terry (Del) DeMarce, along with seventeen grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Ruth was predeceased by her sisters Flora and Sarah; her brothers John, Wesley, Melvin and Edwin; her husband Ernest DeMarce; her grandson Steven Howerton; and her great-granddaughter Amber Iversen. A memorial tribute will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Griffiths Memorial Centre in Black Diamond, AB. Cherished granny of 16 and great-granny of 14. Mom will always be remembered for her strong faith, her quick wit, her love of the Harbs hockey team and especially for the many cookies and cups of tea we have all shared with her. WILKINSON , Beatrice (Grenier) July 28, 1925 - April 29, 2009 Beatrice (Bea) Albina Wilkinson (nee Grenier) passed away April 29, 2009 at the age of 83 years. Bea was born in Drumheller on July 28, 1925, one of twelve children, and was raised on the Grenier homestead on the Horseshoe Canyon. She is survived by her sons Ray and Cliff Wilkinson, her brother Art (Eleanor) Grenier, her sisters Obeline Webber, Lucille Braunberger, Leonie (Mike) Turko, Louise Sunderland and sister-in-law Pam Grenier. Bea was predeceased by her husband Norm Wilkinson, daughter Jean, son Joe, mother Clara, father Joseph, sisters Delia and Alberta, brothers Oscar, Dennis, Ernest, and Leo. Being a mother and grandmother was her ultimate joy. Family and visitors were welcomed with wonderful home cooking and her days were filled with canning, gardening, crafts, travelling, and the Sunshine Coast Quilter's Guild. She gave her love to all who knew her. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter's Catholic Church (541 Silvergrove Drive N.W.) on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. with The Very Rev. WING, James Edward Ryerson Sadly, Jamie passed away on April 30, 2009 at the age of 49 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda and children Austin and Meredith.
