Les funérailles ont eu lieu le dimanche 26 avril à 14 h en l'église Chrétienne Évangélique, du boul. Mercure à Drummondville. La famille était présente à l'église, dimanche jour des funérailles, à compter de 13 h pour rencontrer parents et ami(e)s et recevoir les marques de sympathie. M. BOUCHER, Robert J. - Passed away on April 28, 2009 at the age of 59. Predeceased by his father Gerald (1974). Loving son of Madeliene and her husband Walter Hickey. Survived by his two brothers Richard and his wife Anne of Cambridge and Chris and his wife Amanda of North Bay. Missed by five nieces and nephews. Robert was a retiree of Chrysler Corp. Mrs. Irene Lillian Daintrey June 4, 1923 - April 26, 2009 - Irene Lillian Daintrey June 4, 1923 - April 26, 2009 It is with deep sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Irene Daintrey at the age of 85 years on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at St. Paul’s Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, Alan in 1981. Irene is survived by her three children, Marg (Allen) Olsen of Saskatoon, SK, Linda Walther of Calgary, AB, and Don (Loretta) Daintrey of Rosedale, BC; eight grandchildren, Rick (Jackie) McHaffie, Al (Tanis) McHaffie, Robert (Sandra) Peterson, Brian (Alina) Peterson, Alissa (Dave) Beck, Colin Daintrey (Sarah Matheson), Chrissy (David) McMillan, Melanie Olsen; and four great grandchildren, Addison Beck, Spencer Olsen, Zackary and Tate McMillan. Irene also leaves to mourn a brother, Telford (Vera) Harrison; her sisters-in-law, Nina and Clara; and her nieces and nephews, Pat, Wendy, Cindy, John, Bill, Robert and Margaret. Irene was predeceased by her parents, John (1988) and Eleanor (1935) Harrison; her brothers, Bob (1981) and John (2008) Harrison; and her niece, Terry Sawchuk (2007). Mom was born on June 4, 1923 in Broughten-In-Furness, Lancaster, England. She immigrated to Canada at a young age of 5 and her family homesteaded near Ridgedale, SK. She married Alan in 1941 and they continued to farm until their move to Saskatoon in 1956. Mom worked at the University of Saskatchewan in food services for 25 years, the last 10 years as head of the bakeshop. She was very proud of her work and often told us of the 30 dozen tarts, 20 gallons of pudding, hundreds of cookies and 75 pies she made every day for the students and faculty. Following her retirement from the University, Mom worked part-time in the cafeteria at the 33rd Street Co-op. Mom was an active member of TOPS for many years and made many life-long friends. She loved and took great pride in her home and with the help of family and friends was able to stay there until 2007 when her failing health necessitated a move to an assisted living facility and again in 2008 to a personal care home. Our heartfelt thanks go out to Carol Brosnan and her staff for the loving care they provided to Mom the last few months. We would also like to thank her family physician, Dr. Ron Kostyniuk, and the nursing staff at St. Paul’s Hospital for the compassionate care provided to Mom. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Mayfair United Church, 902 33rd Street West, Saskatoon, SK, officiated by Rev. Deb Walker. Mr. Donald Saxon McColl September 9, 1933 - April 27, 2009 - Donald Saxon McColl On April 27, 2009 Don passed away after a prolonged illness in Edmonton with his adoring wife Phyllis (Clark) holding his hand. He was the beloved father of Andrew (Julie) and Bev (William) Winn all of Ontario. Don was the proud grandfather of 8 grandchildren, Brian, Jason, Melissa, Malcolm and Graham McColl; Zachary, Bennett and Lukas Winn. Don is also survived by his siblings Bill (Fran) of BC, Jean (Colin) Campbell, Pat, Kae (Moe) from Ontario, and many nieces and nephews. Don enjoyed several careers as “Cash McColl “with the Royal Bank, as a Senior Civil servant at the Province of Ontario and in retirement, as Santa Claus for charitable institutions. Don and Phyllis moved to Edmonton in 2002 from the Toronto area where Don as an accomplished cook provided stalwart support for Phyllis working at the University of Alberta. Don was an engaged, active listener and conversationalist with everyone he met. To the end, he treated people with interest and respect; he knew all his care givers names, backgrounds and interests. The family would like to express our appreciation towards all the staff at the Good Samaritan Zetter Care Centre, the Grey Nuns hospital, the University hospital for the care and compassion he received. A private celebration of his life will take place at a later date in Ontario. Flowers gratefully declined .Memorial donations would be appreciated directly to the Don McColl Graduate Scholarship at the University of Alberta.

Mrs. Beatrice Margaret Sauliner September 21, 1914 - April 28, 2009 SAULNIER, Beatrice Margaret Halifax, passed away Tuesday April 28, 2009, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Cape St. Mary, Digby Co., she was a daughter of the late Dosithe and Josephine (LeBlanc) Doucette. She was a teacher for a number of years in Saulnierville Station. After her marriage she later moved to Halifax with her husband and then worked with Simpson Sears. Later adopting Diane, Beatrice became a home maker, looking after her family was her primary role. She is survived by daughter, Diane (Tom) Collins, Halifax; grandchildren, Stephen and Lyndsay; several nieces and nephews. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and encouragement to take on each day to the age of 94. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Felix; eight brothers, and three sisters. Mrs. Bonnie "Gail" MacLean January 29, 1945 - April 28, 2009 64, of Dartmouth, passed away April 28, 2009, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Truro, January 29, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Linda (Fraser) Crowe (of Belmont). She was a member of Belmont Wesley United Church. Gail was an educator all her life, teacher, principal and administrator, retiring from the Inspection Services of the Department of Education in 1996. After her retirement, Gail set up an education program in Iqaluit. She was an avid reader and served as a judge on the Dartmouth Library Literary Award Committee and was a member of a local bookclub. She was interested in politics and was a member of the Liberal Party. Gail and Ralph enjoyed traveling the world until recently when her health declined. Gail is sadly missed by her husband, Ralph, Dartmouth; sister, Cheryl Crowe, Truro and several cousins. She will be missed by her beloved pets, Guy and Rhapsody. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. today in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. A celebration of Gail's life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 2, in Atlantic Funeral Home Chapel, Dartmouth. Mrs Nellie Florence KLYM (Grandel) September 6, 1927 - April 28, 2009 Nellie passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 peacefully in her sleep. She was born in 1927 to William and Ellen Grandel. She was predeceased by her parents; sister Sadie Winstl; brother Grayden Grandel and husband Michal. Left to mourn Nellie’s passing are her sons Vern (Liz) and Roy (Lois); grandchildren Jason (Kara), Andrea (Scot), Tyler (Sarah), Dustin, and Nolan and great grandchildren Ethan and Avrey, all of Regina; brother Norman (Joan) Grandel of Claresholm, AB; sister-in-law Norma Grandel of Strasbourg, SK; brother-in-law Walter Winstl of Thunder Bay, ON; as well as many nieces, nephews and many good friends. Nellie’s life revolved around her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved very much. Nellie enjoyed curling and golfing until ill health stopped that. Mrs. Yolande Curé December 22, 1939 - April 26, 2009 Suddenly on April 26, 2009 our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend left us to join Robert and the angels above. Willy was predeceased by her husband Robert, son Gilles, brothers: Jean, Maurice, Marcel, sister Noëlla and friend Marcel. She is survived by her sons: Richard (Marilyn), Marc, Victor (Paulette), Luc, Maurice (Georgette) and daughter Carole (André) along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Sisters: Evelyne, Suzanne, Lorraine and brothers: Paul and Rosaire and their families. Mémère was born and raised in St. Malo where her and Robert raised their family. Mémère’s door was always open to all her family and friends. She would welcome you in and make sure you were well fed: poutine, pork chops and of course her special perogies. If you couldn’t find mémère chances were she was enjoying a good game of bingo with her friends, a cup of coffee and a cigarette. Another one of mémère past times was playing cards and boy if it was a game of Barush look out. It would be a long night; she would always take the bid and of course win! Mémère had her first quad ride at the age of 67, we rode 20 miles. Sometimes slow but mostly fast. We got home full of dust and needing a shower. This didn’t stop her, she wanted to do it again, just with a different driver. Mémère still enjoyed the St. Malo air; she would come out on a Friday and stay till Sunday at Chez Ti-Mike. Once her family and friends heard she was out, she would be visiting on the deck for hours. After all of this, mémère would sit back and relax in her rocking chair while listening to her music. Mémère’s pride and joys were all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As we all got older, mémère was still making sure we wouldn’t go hungry as she would make us care packages – big bags full of perogies. Willy, you will be sadly missed but I guarantee you’ll never be forgotten. We all have so many memories of you to last us a lifetime. I know as you are watching us today you are hoping that we are not just sitting here and crying but all getting together and laughing like you laughed about all the good times we shared together with you. Thank you for being such a great mémère, mother, sister, aunt and friend. We love you, until we meet again. Cremation has taken place and services for Yolande (Willy) Curé will be held at St. Malo Roman Catholic Church on Friday, May 1. Prayers will begin at 10:30 am with funeral mass to follow at 11:00 am. Flowers are gratefully declined. HOVI, Kirsti 2009-05-01 Mrs. Kirsti Hovi, age 88 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully in Dawson Court, on Sunday, March 8, 2009. Kirsti was born in Ruovesi, Finland on November 6th, 1920 and emigrated to Canada in 1930. She lived in Silver Mountain, and then worked in Port Arthur before marrying Reino Hovi in September 1947. In 1962 they moved to Hudson, Ontario where Reino worked for Great West Timber and Kirsti ran a boarding house, Hovi’s Rooms while raising their family of four. She enjoyed cooking and looking after her boarders and treated them like members of the family. When Reino died in 1971, she moved to Sioux Lookout where she worked for Shell Oil until she returned to Thunder Bay in 1976. She lived in Good Shepherd Village on Walkover Street for over 26 years and then moved to Dawson Court in June 2007 when her health prevented her from living on her own. Kirsti was an avid reader and was very interested in politics, sports, and world events. She loved to knit for her family and friends and also for the Red Cross. Kirsti volunteered for the Friendly Visiting Program at the 55 Plus Centre for many years. Kirsti enjoyed the company and comfort of many neighbours, friends and visitors during her years at Good Shepherd. Kirsti was extremely proud of the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. Kirsti will be lovingly remembered by sons: Allan (Lorraine) of Kearney, Ontario, Michael of Petawawa, Ontario, Kevin (Angela) of Hamilton, Bermuda, Frank (Susan) of Kenora, Ontario, Andrew, Martin, Bill (Judy) of Dryden, Ontario, and Matthew and Jonathan (Erin) of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia; daughter Cathy and Ken Crawford, and daughter Jane, Dale and Jordan Bowie of Thunder Bay, and Jennifer, Jeff and Joshua Langelier of Winnipeg, Manitoba; her brother Urho Piilo and wife Lynn of Nolalu. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Kirsti was predeceased by her husband Reino in 1971; mother Miina; father Urho and Elsie Piilo; sister Gertrude Fredson and husband Anselm, and Martti Piilo and wife Viola. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 4th, 2009 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, officiated by Rev. Dan Repo of Christ Lutheran Church. Dear brother of Evelyn Auger (Maurice), North Bay; Joann Falconi (Hubert), Victoria, British Columbia; Julia Ouellette (Tom), North Bay; Peter (Christine), Sudbury; Phillippe (Joanne), Sault Ste Marie; and Jean (Monique), Lachine, Quebec. He is also survived by his Aunt Evelyn Ferguson, Guelph and his Uncle Conrad (Renee)Thibeault, St Jean sur Richelieu, Quebec, his cousin Eric McMillan (Susan) Guelph, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, cousins and other extended family. Paul had a passion for machinery and tools that kept him busy all his life. He had an artist's soul, designing and crafting everything from wrought iron decorations, a unique three wheeled motorcycle, a metal fireplace for our parent's cottage to a home in Muskoka. His favourite reading was Ellery Queen and technical manuals. Paul was always there to lend a helping hand to his friends and family.We would like to thank his many caring friends in the Muskoka area for the support you showed him over the last few years. LAMARCHE, Angela Merici (nee Scott) Passed away peacefully on April 22, 2009 at the Pickering Community Nursing Home in Pickering, Ontario. Angela was born on May 30, 1930 in Chester, England. She was predeceased by her brothers Bill and Terry; her sisters Kathleen and Madeleine. In her late teens she went hostelling across Europe with her sister Kathleen. For her next adventure Angela moved to Toronto, Ontario in her early 20's and became a Canadian citizen. While employed at Avro Arrow she met and married her one true love R. Marc Lamarche, an Avro Arrow engineer. They raised their family in Nepean, Ontario. Her baby daughter Madeleine predeceased Angela in 1964. Her husband Marc passed away January 26, 1999 in Orleans, Ontario. Angela's past volunteer work in Nepean and Ottawa included Girl Guides, canvassing for March of Dimes, washing dishes after church events and helping out at Red Cross blood donor clinics. Angela is sadly missed by her sister Josephine Guido, her daughter Cathy Bathurst (husband Charlie Bathurst), her daughter Louise (Angela's grandchildren Laura and Mark), many nieces and nephews and the staff of her nursing home. Many thanks to the staff of Pickering Community Nursing Home for their care of Angela during the past 2 years and especially for their care and compassion during this difficult time. McCOLL, Agnes Napier Sadly on April 25th, 2009, she was the wife of the late Hugh McColl. She will be deeply missed by her daughters; Jacqueline Joynt (the late Ronald) and Eleanor Collins (Lawrence). She was both a proud and devoted grandmother to her three grandchildren; Ryan, Jordan and Chelsea. She will be missed by her sister Elizabeth Rollins and was predeceased by her sister Margaret Wham and brother William McLaughlan. She was proud of her many nieces and nephews. Throughout mom's life she was a good friend to many and will be sorely missed. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 4, 2009 at 1 pm in the Chapel of Pinecrest Remembrance Services (2500 Baseline Rd., Ottawa). Interment to follow. BREWER , Matthew "Matt" Ryan 1983 - 2009 With great sadness, the family of Matthew Ryan Brewer announce his sudden passing into the Lord's care on April 25, 2009. Born in Colorado, Matt moved to Calgary in 1991 with his family, graduated from E.P. Scarlett High School and SAIT and ultimately became a Journeyman technician. Matt loved his job at Centaur Subaru, the only employer he had ever worked for since his early days as an apprentice. He credits his good friend Trevor, a fellow mechanic and mentor for his success. In 2008, Matt became the very proud owner of his own house. He enjoyed his free time golfing with his long-time best friend Ryan and his brother Cory. Matt was such an integral part of a close-knit family and group of friends and was always willing and able to provide his help when needed. Quiet, unassuming, steady, and thoughtful are traits that all had come to know him by. He will be missed tremendously. Matt was predeceased by his brother Justin Sinclair Brewer, grandparents Ann and James Russell, Grampa Brewer and Uncle Jim Russell. He is survived by his parents Dale and Kathy, his sister Venessa (and her husband Brady Chernoff) and Grandma Brewer, all of Calgary. In accordance with Matt's wishes, there will be no Service. CARSTENS , Jeffrey Noel Jeff passed away April 25, 2009 at the age of 85 years. Jeff is survived by his loving wife Doreen Carstens; stepson Philip (Star) Perry; stepdaughter Marilea (Norm) McCaw; step-grandchildren, Christopher (Mandy) Minhinnetti, Kari (Ben) Carnduff, Hayleight Perry and four step-great-grandchildren, Kolby, Bailey, Jaret and Emilea. Jeff was born in Australia, he was a S/L in the R.A.A.F. in World War II. His work later took him to forty-seven countries. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Gladys and his brothers, Gilbert, Claude and Keith. In accordance with Jeff's wishes no Funeral Service will be held. REAGAN , Lisa Jean Lisa passed away at the Peter Lougheed on April 25, 2009, at the age of 24 years. She is survived by her uncle Murray Reagan, aunt Laurie Reagan, cousins, Brady, Devin and Landan Regan all of Okotoks, and aunt Judy Reagan of Calgary. She was predeceased by her mother Sandy Reagan, her grandparents Lloyd and Jean Reagan. Lisa attended Emily Follensbee School, then later attended Christine Meikle School. After graduation she attended the Options Day Program.
