ROGAN, Franc 1920 - 2009 In Montreal, passed away peacefully Monday, April 27, 2009 at the age of eighty-nine. Beloved husband to Gizela Kular, loving father to son Franc (Rozina Hozjan) and cherished grandfather to Rozina-Maria. He also leaves behind his sister Gizela (Stefan Lesic) Strathroy, Ont. along with family in Slovenia. We extend our gratitude to Father Letonja for his visits to the residency, prayers and comforting words. Our deepest appreciation to the doctors and entire staff of Residence Emilie-Gamelin, for their exceptional care and attention. Resting at J.A. HOSKING , Lilian Louisa December 4, 1904 - April 18, 2009 It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Lilian Hosking at 104 years. Lilian is survived by one daughter Shirley (Lawrence) Miskew, two granddaughters, Linda (Mark) Davis, Janis (Glenn) Rising, three great-grandsons, Christopher, Bradley and Timothy. Lilian was predeceased by her husband William Hosking in 1977 after fifty-six years of marriage. They were married in 1921 in Cardiff, Wales and came to Canada in 1927. Lilian was a dedicated Oilers fan and enjoyed playing the piano. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 11533 - 135 Street, Edmonton, AB. Interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. WARDROP, Percival Cameron (Percy) - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Lady Dunn Health Centre, Wawa, Ontario, on Monday April 27, 2009. Percy was born in Whitemouth Manitoba on June 20, 1924. He was predeceased by his loving wife Joy Rosalie Wardrop on Sept. 17, 1990. Percy was the loving father of Sylvia and her husband Harold of Terrace Bay, Cameron Wardrop of Echo Bay, Barry Wardrop and his wife Dee of Trinity, Florida and Shayne Wardrop of Wawa. Much loved grandfather of five grandchildren and three great grandchildren who will miss him dearly. Percy was the eldest brother of nine. He leaves behind sisters Luella Campbell, Bertha Johnson, Patricia Kien and brothers Arthur, William and Melvin Wardrop. He was predeceased, by his brother John Wardrop and sister Thelva Miller. BELL, Joan Elizabeth Margaret (nee Teer) - 1934-2009 - On Monday, March 23, 2009, as the day was beginning, Joan Elizabeth Margaret Bell passed away peacefully in her daughter's arms at the age of 75 years. Joan will always be loved and never forgotten by her children and their families, Robert (Darlene) Bell, Nancy (Neal) Symons, Victoria (Scott) Woodman, all of Whitecourt, AB and Tracey (Trevor) McCabe of St. Albert, AB; grandchildren, Mark Bell, Cole and Cara Symons, Jennifer and Spencer Woodman, Wayne Quaife, Carson and Tori McCabe. Predeceased by the father of their children, Daniel Bell; parents, Annie and Roy Teer and brother, Edward (Ted) Teer. Joan was a long time employee of Bell Canada. Joan loved traveling, games of chance and a good hand of Euchre. Socializing was her pastime and those around her benefited from her joyful spirit. Joan loved and was loved may she rest in peace. Richard Plante A l'Hôpital régional d'Edmundston, le 20 avril 2009, à l'âge de 55 ans et 11 mois, est décédé Richard Plante, domicilié à St-François. Il était le fils de feu Eddy Plante et de feu Régina Bouchard. Il laisse dans le deuil sa fille : Marie-Pier Plante (Bruce Coulombe), de Lac-Baker; ses petits-enfants : Sébastien Plante et Aryane Coulombe; son frère : Charles (Maureen Thibault), du Lac-Unique, de même que ses soeurs : Nicole (Gaëtan Bossé), du Lac-Baker; Colette (Richard Levesque), de St-François; Michèle Plante, de St-Jacques, et Danielle (Bill Oakes), du Lac-Unique. Il fut précédé dans la tombe par un frère, Claude. Ses funérailles ont eu lieu le mercredi 22 avril, à 16 heures, en l'église de St-François, et l'inhumation au cimetière paroissial. Le père Claude Clavet présidait aux cérémonies. Les porteurs étaient Bruce Coulombe, Charles Plante, Nicole Plante, Colette Levesque, Danielle Oakes, Michelle Plante, Bill Oakes et Richard Levesque. La lecture fut effectuée par Karine Levesque. Les intentions de prières ont été lues par Marie-Ève Plante. Les cartes ont été distribuées par Micheline Caron et Josée Oakes et la quête a été faite par Jasmin Plante et Stéphane Plante. La direction des funérailles a été confiée à la maison funéraire J.B. Mr. Zoel Joseph Martin, husband of Cathy Martin, of the Bay du Vin River Road, Bay du Vin, passed away at the Moncton City Hospital, on Friday, April 24, 2009, at the age of 59. Born in Chatham, on April 18, 1950, he was the son of the late Edward and Emilda (Martin) Martin. He was a former employee of the Dept. of Transportation (NB) and a former fisherman. He was an adherent of St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Bay du Vin. He is survived by his wife, the former Cathy Adams; one son, Tony Martin, of Miramichi; five sisters, Martina Richard (Ernest), of Baie St. Anne, Eleonore Savoie (Alderick), of Baie St. Anne, Ledwine Theriault (Jules), of Moncton, Francine Blakely, of Baie St. Anne, Rejeanne Martin (Zoel Roy), of Baie St. Anne; three brothers, Rodolph Martin, of St. Louis de Kent, Valeri Martin (Boneita), of Baie St. Anne, Edouard Martin (Charlene), of Baie St. Anne; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Odette McIntyre; two brothers, Adonis and Jean Paul Martin. By request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. WOTHERSPOON , Elma T. July 19, 1929 - April 20, 2009 Peacefully on April 20, 2009 in Penticton, B.C., Elma, daughter of late Professor David and Mrs. D.E. Bain, passed away in her 79th year after an arduous battle with cancer. She is sadly missed by her loving husband Derek (Summerland), son David (Evelyn), daughter Joan Lister (Bill), and sister, Lois M. Bain of Edinburgh, Scotland, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Born and educated in Edinburgh, Elma taught in the U.K. and in Calgary, where she and Derek were married in 1954. Elma was the centre of a busy, happy family. She and Derek retired to Summerland, B.C. in 1984. She dedicated many hours to the Girl Guides as a Captain and District Commissioner, to volunteer canvassing and was a devoted member of the Summerland United Church Women. Throughout her life she forged many close and deeply cherished friendships. Elma will long be remembered for the quiet steady courage she maintained throughout her illness, her humour, her understanding and her gentle, loving manner. Our memories of love will be of you Elma. She is survived by daughters Nova Turnbull of Barrie, Ont., Morna Joyce (Jim) Matheson of Port Hawkesbury, N.S., son Clifford F. (Carol) Lynch of Coldstream, B.C., brothers Arthur Halcro of Morrisburg, Ont. and Wesley (Dolly) Halcro of Cambridge, Ont. and sister Lois Kentfield of Allison, Ont. She is also survived by a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Kay was predeceased by huband Maynard T. UNGER , Mary Winnifred (Win) (nee Bousfield) May 18, 1916 - April 26, 2009 Winnifred (Win) Mary Unger of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at the Foothills Medical Centre at the age of 92 years. Win was born in the town of McLennan, AB, to British Pioneer Settlers on May 18, 1916. Win and Jack settled in Calgary, where Win looked after her daughter alone while Jack went to war. She bravely endured those years apart, with son Donald arriving after Jack's return. Win worked at the Woodwards Department Store, formerly located within Chinook Centre. She will be remembered for her work volunteering with Jack, for the City of Calgary, Kirby Centre and Legion Branch 285. She was known for her crafts, specializing in paintings of Chief Dan George, for which she won awards. Win always had an open door for family, friends, and all pets. She never turned anyone or anything away. Win, is survived by daughter Patricia (Patsy) and (Paul) Garand, son Donald and Barbara Unger; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Sadly, Win did not live to see the upcoming birth of a great-great-grandchild just announced. She was predeceased by husband, Jack Unger.
