Jill Wilson of Hawkestone, formerly of North Bay, beloved wife of Ken Wilson. Loving mother of Terry Seguin of North Bay and step-mother of Scott, Paul, Cory and Lindsay. Dear daughter of Barry and Teresa-Jo Rawlings of North Bay and sister of Dale (James) Lisk of North Bay, Diane (David) Newton of Petawawa and Joan Rawlings of Hawkestone. Beloved husband of Beatrice McCabe nee- Belanger. Loved step father of Regent Menard (Sandra) of Cornwall, Carole McCutchon (Bob) of Ottawa, Marie-Andree Pilgrim (Francis), Francine Menard, Francoise Ladouceur, Gerald Menard (Chantale) all of Cornwall, Leon Menard (Linda) of Finch and Lynne Menard of Cornwall. DOROTHY-PRICE, Thelma (nee Richard) - (June 15, 1917 - April 22, 2009) It is with profound sadness that the family of Thelma Dorothy-Price announces her passing at Extendicare Timmins after a six year struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. Mourning her loss are her much-loved daughters Shireen (George) Anderson of Medicine Hat, Alberta and Lynda (Dennis) Bernardi of Timmins; her daughter-in-law Nicole Dorothy of Metz, France, her sister Leona (Rene) Dumoulin of Ottawa and her brother Mel (Helen) Richard of Timmins. She was a doting and loving Nana to her granddaughters Leigh Bernardi of Toronto, Lynda Dorothy and Deborah Dorothy of Metz, France and her grandsons Russell (Deanna) Anderson of Enniskillen, Ontario, Howard Anderson of Lethbridge, Alberta, Doug (Sheila) Anderson of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Ronald Anderson of Nanaimo, British Columbia and Aaron (Joanne) Bernardi of Vancouver, B.C. Nana is also remembered by her great grandchildren Jennifer, Cory, Joey, Bayle and Jessica Anderson and Alan Dorothy; as well as her great great grandson Nodin Anderson. She leaves several nieces and nephews in Canada and the United States as well as her lifelong friend, Margaret Marcella. Thelma is predeceased by her parents Albert and Maude (Roi) Richard, her first husband Sidney Dorothy, her son Richard Dorothy, her second husband Harold Price, her brothers Don (late Janet), Leo (Mary), Dick (late Doris), Willard (Cecile) and Max Richard, her brother-in-law Frank Dorothy and sister-in-law Helen Dorothy Keyes. Born in Campbell's Bay, Quebec, she came to Timmins with her family in June of 1929. Thelma became the matriarch of the family at a very young age. A warm and nurturing person, she was firm and directive when the situation called for it. Work was an important part of her life, at home and in the community. She was a well-known presence in downtown Timmins until her retirement in 1982. She enjoyed her involvement with customers while working in the women's wear and lingerie department at the former Sam Bukovetsky's Store (Tweed and Hickory) and in her capacity as head cosmetician at Henry's Pharmacy, Wilson's Pharmacy and Shoppers Drug Mart (101 Mall). She was a member of the Ladies of the Blue Army of the Blessed Virgin at the former St. Jude's Parish and the Catholic Women's League at St. Joachim's Parish. She was also a member of the Porcupine Horticultural Society and the Women's Auxilliary of Timmins and District Hospital. The family would like to thank ALL staff of Extendicare Timmins for their constant love, compassion, respect and, above all, exceptional nursing care. We are grateful to the volunteers of Horizon-Timmins Palliative Care Inc. who helped her to pass peacefully, with the dignity and grace with which she lived her life. We thank Lita Bernardi who constantly and lovingly provided much needed moral support to the family throughout this difficult time. Dr. Linda September 9, 1952 - April 25, 2009 Linda Brown-Ewing began life's journey on September 9, 1952 in Kitchener, Ontario, and ended that journey on Saturday, April 25, 2009 in Calgary, at the age of 56 years. Linda was accompanied in the last twenty-five years by her loving husband Lloyd, friends, relatives and recently her beloved "Ziggy". She was ordained into the service of the Lord in 1979, received her Doctor of Ministry in 1993, and ministered in various congregations in Ontario and most recently with the faithful of Centennial Presbyterian Church in Calgary. Yvon J. Leger - À l’Hôpital régional Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont, le dimanche 26 avril 2009, à l’âge de 79 ans, est décédé Yvon Joseph Leger. Il demeurait à Moncton, avenue Murphy. Né le 13 décembre 1929 à Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, il était fils de feu Philippe et Élise (Melanson) Leger. Il laisse dans le deuil deux fils: Raymond (Cécile) et Philippe (Marie-Reine) et deux petites-filles: Stéphanie et Shanel, tous de Beresford; deux frères et une soeur: Léo (feu Eva) de Little Britain, Ont., Léonide (Rita) et Jeannine Richard (feu Rhéal) de Moncton, ainsi que plusieurs nièces et neveux. Son épouse, Stella (Leger) Leger, ainsi que six frères et quatre soeurs: Paul, Augustin, Émile, Néri, Zoël, Antoine, Marie, Anita, Emma et Odila, l’ont précédé dans la tombe. Il a été à l’emploi de la Société des alcools du N.-B., à titre d’inspecteur, pendant 29 ans. La dépouille mortelle ne sera pas exposée. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Christ-Roi de Moncton, le jeudi 30 avril, à 11h. L’inhumation se fera à Sainte-Marie. À la demande de la famille, un don à la Fondation des maladies du coeur ou à l’Association pulmonaire du N.-B. serait apprécié. CRYER, Tony (Poppy) 2009-04-28 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tony (Poppy) Cryer on Saturday, April 25th, with his family by his side. Tony was in his 72nd year and was born May 13th, 1937 to Mel and Mary Cryer. He was born and raised in Fort William and attended local schools. Tony worked in many different areas of construction during his lifetime and was presently employed with Lakehead Marine & Industrial. Tony had an interesting and full life which involved many different interests. He drove Stock Cars at the CLE grounds, Riverview, Murillo, and in later years was part of several organizations, Chaban Ukrainian Dance Group, Superior Trampoline Club, Martial Arts Kickboxing, and the Tired Iron Club, and he enjoyed sitting in with the Toivo St. Jammers. He was also known for his love of Old Mack Trucks and enjoyed searching them out and bringing them home. Tony had many friends at the local coffee shops where he spent many hours enjoying great conversation. Tony is survived by his wife Sandy, (Moppy) daughters Judy Cryer, Beverley (Jim) Kingston, son David (Shelley) grandchildren, Nicole Cashman, Brody Cashman, Conner Rosengren, Madison Cryer and Brendan Cryer. Brother‘s Guy Cryer of Penticton B.C. and John Cryer (Shelley) of Red Deer Alberta, in-laws Linda (Brian) Koski, Donna (Norman) Rea, Ron (Donna) Carroll. Numerous cousins and nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by his parents Mel and Mary and sister-in-law Carrolyn Cryer. In-laws Melvin and Vange Carroll. Tony touched many lives and will be greatly missed by his cat Smokey, and dogs Swiffer and Hoover who spent the past few months by his side encouraging him to fight. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2009 when family and friends will gather for the Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. in St. Patrick‘s Cathedral, celebrated by Rev. Msgr. P.M. Stilla V.G. Services will be complete in the church. Vigil prayers will be offered on Tuesday, April 28th in the Blake Funeral Chapel at 7:00 p.m. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorials to the Northern Cancer Fund would be very much appreciated A tree will be planted in memory of Anthony Cryer in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.
