GRUNDY, David James - Suddenly in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on Friday, April 17, 2009 in his 80th year. Survived by his loving wife Marion of 58 years. Dear father of David Grundy (Elaine) of Yellowknife, and Paul Grundy (Bev) of London. Loving grandfather of Lindsay (Troy), Matthew, Kyle, Erica, Mellissa and great grandfather of Nova. Brother of Errol Grundy (Betty), Ronald Grundy (Laurie), Jean Holmes (George), June Butler and brother-in-law of Shirley McMahon. Sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Dave worked as a bottling supervisor at Pepsi for 33 years and attended West Park Church for 35 years. Mrs. Shirley Bell November 24, 1928 - April 21, 2009 BELL, Mrs. Shirley Jean (nee Sageman) - while surrounded by her precious family Shirley was peacefully welcomed into the Lord's embrace on April 21, 2009 in her 81st year. She was predeceased by her husband Jim Bell and her dear friend Bill Beam. Shirley is the loving mother of the late Steven Bishop(Vera Ballantine), Danny Bishop of Brentwood, TN (Judy Bishop), Wendy Bishop of Plunkett, SK (Lyle Phillips), Larry Bishop of Thorsby, AB (Pauline Fortier), Brenda Bishop of London, ON (Ron Poulton), Kenneth Bishop of London, ON (Sheila) and Timothy Bishop of Maple Ridge, BC (Michelle Cole). She is survived by her grandchildren Garret, Brandon & Chad Bishop, Adam Bishop, James MacNeil & Jody Smith, Garth & Sarah Bishop, Jennifer, Jillian & Katie Allison, Celeena Bishop, Michelle Saggu & Michael Bishop. Shirley is the sister of Ken Sageman and the late Dorothy Atchison and is also survived by nieces Nancy Atchison & Linda Herzig and nephews Ron Atchison & Doug Sageman. Shirley leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren, cousins in Michigan, the extended Bell family and dear friends near and far. Shirley lived an active life filled with travel, family and laughter. She has touched the lives of so many she will be deeply missed and forever remembered. The family will receive friends and relatives Friday April 24 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel. A funeral service will take place Saturday April 25, 2009 at 1:00 pm. BOUSQUET, Thérèse (née Charland) - À l'âge de 76 ans, Thérèse Bousquet (née Charland), est décédée paisiblement le 24 avril 2009 en fin de journée. Née à St-Hilaire, elle a passé plusieurs années à St-Hyacinthe dans sa jeunesse et aura vécu l'essentiel de sa vie adulte à Terrebonne où elle fut impliquée dans plusieurs cadres bénévoles (bibliothèques scolaires, Popote roulante, Centre d'Entraide, etc.). Elle n'aura eu de cesse de prendre soin des siens: ses filles, Claire et Sophie (conjoints: Réal A. Forest et Yves Rivest) et son bien-aimé Paul-Eugène (décédé en 2007), ses nombreux frères, soeurs, neveux et nièces, ses beaux-frères et belles-soeurs et un cercle d'amis qui fut présent à nombre de repas conviviaux et heureux. Sa petite-fille de cinq ans et demi, Juliette, se souviendra d'elle, Sophie et Claire y veilleront. Malheureusement, Thérèse n'aura jamais pu vivre pleinement le bonheur de sa présence lumineuse. Claire, Sophie et leurs conjoints tiennent à remercier tout particulièrement Germaine Lapierre, sans qui le parcours des dernières années aurait été insurmontable, de même que le personnel qualifié, attentif et humain du CHSLD de la Côte boisée, qui l'a aimée et protégée. En lieu et place de fleurs, la famille encourage les dons à la Société Alzheimer du Québec et à la Fondation du CHSLD de la Côte boisée à Terrebonne. Ilona Swan - April 17, 2009 SWAN, Ilona April 17, 2009 It is with deep sorrow we announce that on April 17, 2009, Ilona Swan was accepted into the arms of our Lord. She leaves to mourn her husband Rick, sister Linda, sister in law Cathy, nieces Keltie, Karen, Michelle (Phil), nephew Geoff, numerous relatives, and a multitude of friends. She has been reunited with her predeceased: father George, mother Julia, sister Violet, and numerous aunts and uncles. Her dynamic, charismatic, and vivacious nature leaves an imprint on those who knew her; her dedication and loyalty as a brilliant business woman, her compassion for animals, and most endearingly, her love of life and laughter. Ilona knew not a limit for generosity. Her kindness extended beyond the realm of family and friends. Charities such as the Stollery, Children’s Wish Foundation, and SPCA are a few of the seemingly endless recipients of Ilona’s generous heart. Her kind nature was equaled by her bravery, as her indomitable sprit aided her fierce 4- year battle against ovarian cancer. Though her battle has ended, her sprit has triumphed, as it will live on in the memories of the myriad of lives she has touched. Ilona’s family would like to thank the staff of Unit 18 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for their compassionate care, and especially Dr. Helen Steed for being a caring Lieutenant in Ilona’s long battle. Marion Petra LaFond May 19, 1930 - April 18, 2009 The passing of Marion LaFond, age 78, occurred on Saturday, April 18th, 2009 at Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, SK. Marion is survived her sons Warren LaFond (Cathy Shaw), Darrell LaFond; daughter Rhonda (Tim) Harvie,; son-in-law Brad Simonar; grandchildren Pam Earle, Myles Simonar, Reed Simonar, Allie Earle, Adam Simonar. Marion was predeceased by husband Morley LaFond (1988); daughter Colleen Simonar (2008); parents Gus and Ruby Landin; sister Myrtle Rorquist; brothers Johnny Landin and Roy Landin. Marion was born in Davidson, SK on May 19th, 1930. She grew up in Wadena, SK. Marion married Morley and was a devoted mother of four children. During her lifetime she made many lifelong friends in Saskatoon, Borden and Shell Lake. Marion moved to Lloydminster to be closer to her children and grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 23rd, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th Street, turn right before railway crossing). Mr. Charles Philip Grudnitzki December 4, 1926 - April 19, 2009 - GRUDNITZKI, Charles Philip Charles was born on December 4, 1926 and passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2009. He was predeceased by his parents John and Regina. Charles is survived by his loving wife Helen of 60 years; son Wayne (Erna) and their children Linell, Darcy (Sara) and Curtis; daughter Kathy (Rob) and their children Cory (Lucia), Tasha and Shelby; great grandchildren Owen, Kyra, Evan and Carter; brother George (Margaret); sisters-in-law Monica (Jack), Blanche (Bill) and Brandee; plus many nieces and nephews. Charles loved the outdoors and watching wrestling. He especially enjoyed the cottage and fishing at Saskatchewan Beach. Charles was always willing to help anyone and always had a smile on his face. Mr. Ernest Alexander Badick May 27, 1950 - April 19, 2009 Badick, Ernie On April 19th, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer, Ernie passed away at the age of 58.
