CHAIMBRONE, Marc Angelo (Cham) 1969 - 2009 - With great sorrow our loving son and brother lost his courageous fight with cancer. Marc was surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Sault Area Hospital. Marc fought his illness with dignity, strength and humour never letting it slow him down. Cherished son of Gloria and the late Michael Sr. Loving brother and best friend of Dawn and the late Michael Jr. Beloved grandson of the late Donald and Jeanette Mitchell, Angelo and Edith Chaimbrone. Nephew of Elaine & David McKay, Randy and Patty Chaimbrone, Dan & Angela Leslie, James & Eileen Mitchell, Pat and the late Robert Mitchell, Shirley and Claude Fecteau, Margaret and the late Gordie MacMillan, Mary Mitchell, Leila and Harry Koskenoja and Terry and Donna Mitchell. Marc will be missed by his adopted brother Brad Luzzi and his wife Paula, Lauren and godson Brayden. He will be lovingly remembered by his many cousins. Many enjoyed Marc's friendship through his various passions in life, his camp, hunting, fishing, nascar and sharing a Bud with his many, many friends. A celebration of Marc's life with be held at the ARTHUR FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE on Thursday, March 19, 2009 from 11 am until time of funeral service in the chapel at 3 pm. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Oncology Unit at the Sault Area Hospital would be appreciated by the family. BURGESS, Ron - Peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, March 15th, 2009 in his 75th year with his loving wife Ruth at his side. Ron leaves behind his wife Ruth and his children Elaine (Ross), Doug (Barb), Brenda (Frans), Craig (Kathy), Randy (Sheila-Anne) and Dwayne (Danna). Ron will be missed by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brother of Paul. He worked at Domtar for 38 years until he retired in 1994. HARDIE, Irene Ferguson - 1921-2009. A very sad and unlucky Friday March the 13th, Sandra (George) Roberton and Christine (Warren) Hurst Bradshaw lost their mom today. Irene is predeceased by her husband Alex (1981) and an infant daughter Linda Anne. She leaves behind grandchildren Kristine (Martin) Spencer, Kathryn (Richard) Leblanc and Jamie (Hanna) Hurst and great grandchildren Jack, Charlotte and Nick. Mom was born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland and served in the Royal Air Force during WWII in both England and Wales. Mom and Dad came to Canada in 1952 and after her girl's started school she worked at Eaton's until her retirement in 1984. The best days of mom's retirement were spent at the Kiwanis Building on Geneva Street surrounded by many caring and devoted friends. Mom enjoyed her darts, euchre and scrabble. At her request cremation has taken place and we invite all her friends and friends of the family to an afternoon tea to celebrate her life. Tea will be held at the Kiwanis Apartments, 321 Geneva St. between one and four on March 28th. Please join us. SANDULAK, Lorna Helen - Passed away suddenly and peacefully in her 88th year, Saturday March 14, 2009. Lorna was predeceased by her wonderful husband George Sandulak, she was a loving Mother to George and Terry Potter and predeceased by her son Frank Potter. She will be deeply missed by Sister Phyllis Crawford and Grandchildren, David, Dan, Jana Leigh, Sean, Laurie Custers, Randy, Sherry, and Jerry Potter. Lorna is also survived by her great-grandchildren Nicole, Deana, Katrina, Cassondra, Cole and Mitchell. Predeceased by her brothers Bing, Frank, Chap Stevens and Sister Dorothy Stubbings. PEREHINCHUK, Annie - of Welland, peacefully, with family by her bedside, at the Welland Hospital on February 27, 2009 in her 88th year. Cherished wife of the late John Perehinchuk. BURTON, Joann (nee Crawford) - Passed away peacefully at her home March 13, 2009, in the arms of her loved ones. Joann graced everyone who knew her with her profound kindness and generous spirit. Survived by her beloved husband, Walter, Joann was a dear mother and inspiration to her five children William and Jeffrey Hockley, Wendy, Natasha and Karen Burton, and their spouses. BENSON, Barbara Ann 1923-2009 Barbara left us on Monday, March 16, supported by her family and the compassionate staff of Carleton Lodge. She was the loving wife of the late G. Campbell Benson, mother of Chal (Gail Ratcliff) and Gayle (Henry Jakubinek), and fond grandma of Paul Jakubinek (Tova Larsen) and Michael Jakubinek (Tara Swords). Predeceased by her brother James Brisbin (Helen) of Guelph. A university-educated chemist, Barb devoted most of her adult life to the welfare and success of family members, and to her values of Christian charity. Over the course of a long journey with Alzheimer's disease, Barbara and her family had the support of friends, her church community, and many caring professionals and volunteers. DEKKER, Jan Bertus Bastiaan Peacefully in his sleep, March 5th, 2009, in his 100th year. In Huize Terleede, Leerdam, Netherlands. Widower of Mieneke Dekker-Haalmeyer, predeceased by his brother Cees and sister Jeanne. Jan was born in Nymegen, the Netherlands, October 11th, 1909. He lived in Toronto for 40 years and was employed by Muzak. Jan will be fondly remembered by his daughter Lise (Ben) Babelowsky - Dekker, his grandchildren Jennifer (John) Geleta, Jeffrey Babelowsky, Lillian Gisolf (Per) and great grandchildren Jesse, Noah, Hanna and Simon in the Netherlands and Jason Geleta. Funeral services were held in Leerdam, the Netherlands on March 10th. Jan lived a long and interesting life both in Canada and in the Netherlands and always stuck by his motto "I did it my way.". HOLLORAN, Denis Michael - July 16, 1957 - March 14, 2009 Denis Holloran passed away March 14, 2009 after failing health due to complications resulting from his lung transplants in 2001. He is survived by his loving mother Mary Holloran; three siblings Elizabeth Wright (Tom) of Highland, Utah, Stuart Holloran of Celista, BC, and Jillian Gardner (Derek) of Vancouver, WA; stepdaughter Kristina; and ten nieces and nephews. Denis is also survived by his aunts and uncle: Irene Wall, Kathleen Haynes, Robert Cline (Heather) and cousins Steven Wall (Carol) and Ian Wall (Stacey) and many other relatives and friends. Denis was predeceased by his father Denis Michael Holloran on April 21, 2004. Denis was born and raised in Calgary. He worked on seismic crews in the oil fields and will be remembered for his love of fishing and biking. JOHNSON, Marilyn Ann "Marle" July 15, 1943 - March 15, 2009 With broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Marilyn passed away after a courageous battle with brain cancer on March 15, 2009 at 65 years of age. She was the love and best friend of her husband John, and the adored mother of her daughter, Jean. Marle will be sadly missed by her brothers and sisters, extended family and friends too numerous to mention. Anyone who met her loved her dearly. Marilyn was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario on July 15, 1943. She married John in 1963 in Welland, Ontario. Marle happily accompanied John in his many RCAF postings around the world, eventually returning to Calgary in 1988. She retired from her career as a parking control officer in 2007. Marle lived for the moment, loved with all her heart and understood life in a wonderful way. She loved country music, travelling with Jean, camping with John and her friends, and beating everyone at cards. She had a smile that could light up the room, and the most beautiful blue eyes. Marle was beautiful inside and out. She will be missed by many. The family would like to thank the staff at the Chinook Hospice in Calgary for their kindness and compassionate care of Marilyn. KELL, Millie March 6, 1912 - March 13, 2009 Millie Kell passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital on March 13, 2009 at the age of 97 years. Millie is survived by her children Ron (Claudia), Harvey (Tony), Diane (Fletcher), Greg (Janice); grandchildren Kelly (Mark), Jamie (Deanna), Jeremy (Sarah), Joshua and Jillianne; also three great-grandchildren Noah, Ryan and Christian. Millie also leaves to mourn many other family members and friends and was predeceased by her husband David and daughter Joanne. Millie enjoyed a full life and was a long standing member of the Moose Lodge. MOYES, Violet May "Irene" - September 30, 1923 - March 14, 2009 Violet May "Irene" Moyes of Calgary passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2009 after a brave two-year battle with cancer, at the age of 85 years. TSE, David Yok Kin David Yok Kin passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the age of 83 years. BEAVIS, Robert Allan - Al Beavis, a lifelong resident of Peterborough died peacefully at home on Sunday March 15, 2009. Al was born in East City in 1930, one of four boys (Ron, Gerry and Wally) to parents Ken and Lorena Beavis. Al loved his girls, East City, and the Montreal Canadiens. Al was the husband of Lois for 53 years and father of Lori and son-in-law Dominic Hardy, Leslee, Lynn and Christine. He was a great Bop for all of us but especially for Caitlin, Iris and Nicolas. Al worked hard all his life at a number of jobs from collecting scrap during W.W. II to selling Kawartha Canoes, woodstoves, Hondas, driving for Capital Taxi, and a long career as a caterer (South Beach Hotel, Downtown Restaurant, Kawartha Golf Club and Peterborough Golf and Country Club, Trent Inn Coffee Shop, etc). Al gave to the community through his charitable work as he organized B.B.Q's, dinners, walk-a-thons for Civic Hospital Cat-scan and Five Counties Children's centre. He loved to play Santa Claus, originally for Five Counties and later for other charitable organizations. He also raised funds for Nursery Two, KMS, Artspace and the Red Cross. Over the years he played hockey, lacrosse and football (PCVS and Peterborough Orfuns) and coached church league hockey. He was a loyal supporter of the Peterborough Petes and the Peterborough Sports Hall of Fame. Al went on many adventures over the years, most recently with good friend, Jack Doris. Tony diLauro, Brian and Paulette Nichols and Jo Davis have been among other constant and good friends over the years. We know that Al and friends Bill Joiner, Les Davis, Cy Coombes, Jack Gibson and Paul Strano are getting together in another place for a drink right now. We would like to thank Robin, Debbie and Ann of Access Peterborough for their kind and good care. Elle était fille de feu Paul Martin de Grand-Sault, N.-B. et de feu Wilhelmine Lavoie de l’Île Verte, Qc, mais domiciliés à Saint-André-du-Madawaska, N.-B. Outre sa famille religieuse, Sr Rita laisse dans le deuil une soeur, Jeanne (Arsène Poitras) de Saint-André-du-Madawaska, N.-B., ainsi qu’un beau-frère, Simon Desjardins de Drummond, N.-B. Ses parents; huit frères: Côme, Alcide, David, Émile, Louis, Archille, Armand et Claude (prêtre eudiste), ainsi que cinq soeurs: Ida (Jim Mazerolle), Irène (Edgar Michaud), Marie (Léo Michaud), Marthe (Simon Desjardins) et Aurore, l’ont précédée dans la tombe. Sr Rita a demeuré et a oeuvré à Campbellton, Bathurst, Moncton, Edmundston, Allardville, Paquetville et Brantville, N.-B., à Caps Noirs, Qc et à Yarmouth, N.-É. Elle a travaillé environ 50 années comme cuisinière. Que de plats savoureux elle a préparés, les décorant de roses confectionnées de pelures d’orange ou de tomates. En 1997, elle a commencé une semi-retraite lui permettant de consacrer plus de temps à son talent d’artiste, surtout celui de fabriquer de beaux oiseaux. En décembre 2006, Sr Rita est entrée au Pavillon Edmée-Martin en raison de sa santé un peu plus fragile. Sr Rita nous laisse le souvenir d’une personne tranquille, créative, heureuse, avec qui il faisait bon vivre. Elle était une femme de grande foi. La dépouille mortelle sera exposée à compter de 14h, le mardi 17 mars, à la Première chapelle de la maison mère des Filles de Marie-de-l’Assomption, 2, rue Arran, à Campbellton. Une célébration de prières aura lieu à 19h30. Les funérailles auront lieu au même endroit, le mercredi 18 mars, à 11h.
