DONOHUE, Mary Gwendolyn - “A luminous light remains where a beautiful soul has passed “ Antoine Boveria. Quietly on Thursday, December 25, 2008, surrounded by her loving family, Gwen Donohue passed to her eternal rest at St. Mary's Hospital, Kingston Ontario, one day before her 83rd birthday. Gwen was predeceased by husband, P.J., parents, Catherine and Raymond Gaffney, and brothers Ray and Jerry Gaffney. Left to cherish her loving memory are children Colleen (Mrs. Whit Prophet), Brockville, Janet (Mrs. Paul Vintinner) Belleville, Gary and Julie (Mrs. John Kenney) Bradford and precious grandchildren, Rebecca, Jill, Heidi, Graeme, Jeremy and Ian who all held a very special place in her heart. Gwen is also sadly missed by brothers, Ed Gaffney (Kay), South Porcupine, Gus Gaffney, Belleville, Cyril Gaffney (Rita) Pembroke and sister Gracia Howard (Jim) Ottawa. From a very early age, Gwen lived her life for her family, friends and as importantly, her church. She touched the lives of many with her special gifts. Her home was a place of welcome, warmth and kindness. The funeral Mass was celebrated at the Church of Assumption, Erinsville, December 29, 2008 with Fr. Brennan officiating. Avec ma tendre épouse Céline Zuchowski, j'ai engendré avec amour 2 beaux enfants Yannick et Hugues (Dominique Boucher). J'ai eu la chance de connaître ma descendance Rémi, Olivia, Léonie et ma petite Simone. Je laisse également ma soeur Pierrette ainsi que la famille de Céline qui est un peu la mienne : Petite soeur Marjolaine, France (Ginette Duchesne), Michel (Johanne Robidoux), Gaétane (Yves Fontaine), Jean (Christiane Frigo), Sylvie (Pierre Couture), Daniel (Céline Chartier) et Stéphane (Louise Richer) que j'ai si bien aimés, autant que taquinés. Ma pensée va aussi à Joël mon filleul, un bon gars, à mes neveux et nièces, à mes oncles et tantes ainsi qu'à mes cousins et cousines. J'ai eu la chance d'avoir quelques vrais amis, ils se reconnaîtront pour éviter de prendre congé. ROBINSON, Dorothy 1914 - 2009 Dorothy (Dot) Robinson passed away peacefully on January 17, 2009 at the age of 94 years. She will be deeply missed by sons Lorne and Ray, their wives Faye and Vicki, grandchildren Connie (Mark), Tanis (Lindsay), Matthew and Emily and great-grandchild Zachary. Dorothy was born in Dunshalt, Alberta in 1914 and moved with her family to Lyalta, Alberta in the 1930's. It was there that she met the love of her life, Harry Robinson. They were soon married and moved to Calgary. They built their own home in South Calgary in 1943 and lived there until 2003. Dot was very community minded, volunteering for many charities and events. She was a life member of St. Mark's Anglican Church where she was awarded the gold cross for her service. Her life was spent gardening, camping and fishing and travelling with her many close friends. WINGER, Harold Warren - At Northland Pointe on Wednesday January 21, 2009. Harold Winger, beloved husband of Wilma and much loved father of Charlotte (Douglas) Sider and Brenda (Charles) Hill. Loving grandfather of Douglas (Tonya), Derek, Dustin (Rachel) and Christina. Also survived by great grandchildren Prestyn, GraceAnne, Ashly, Carter, Isaac and Audrey. Predeceased by his brother Arthur and his sister Rowena Heise. Born in Bertie Township October 27, 1920, he farmed all of his life. He was an avid ploughman, served on the Bertie Ploughman Executive and had won trophies at international matches. He served as a faithful deacon for many years at Fallsview and Sherkston Brethren in Christ Churches. Cherished grandmother of Mackenzie, Cole, Brady and Bo Daniel. Survived by her parents John and Alida Voortman of Ancaster and in laws Bas and Jean (Zomer) Langendoen of Vineland. Survived by her sister Trudy (Gerry), Wilma (Salvador) and brother Ron, predeceased by her sister Linda Voortman, and precious nephew Jeremy Ryan Voortman. Also survived by her brothers-in-law, Andy (Rhea), Ernest (Betsy), Don (Kathy), and sisters-in-law, Jennifer (Tom) Cassidy, Christine (Ted) Sterenberg, Sharon (Arnold) Mulder. Jocelyn will also be missed by many nephews and nieces and close friends. Special thanks to sister-in-law, Dr. Kathy Faber Langendoen who walked beside us every step of the way on this journey, for the past three and a half years, as Jocelyn bravely fought her battle with cancer. A thank you to all of the doctors and nurses of all the hospitals that we have visited in the past three and a half years that fought so hard in this battle and a special thanks to the staff of Welland General Hospital. Jocelyn made friends wherever she went and we will all miss her humour, wit, and the loving and caring heart she had for others.
