BUCHANAN, Malcolm “Speedy“ - In loving memory of Malcolm “Speedy“ Buchanan 85 years, who passed away on Thursday, January 22nd, 2009 at his residence encircled by his loving family. Beloved husband of Mildred (nee McIver) of Sudbury. Loving father of Candy Desjardins (husband Michael) of Simcoe and Cindy Buchanan of Toronto. Grandfather of Jarred (wife Mandi), Ryan (partner Becky) and Courtney and great-grandfather of Sophie. Brother of Shirley Clark (late husband Ivan) of Goderich and Alice Condie (husband Delbert) of Larder Lake. Speedy, as most would know him by, was born in Lucknow on May 13th, 1923 and married Mildred in Kapuskasing in 1953. For 33 years, he worked at Kimberley-Clark in Kap. While in Kap, he was also very active with St. John's Ambulance. After he retired in 1983, he and Mildred relocated to Sudbury. A WWII Veteran, Speedy was very proud to be a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 76, in Sudbury. Memorial Service in the R.J. BARNARD FUNERAL, 233 Larch St., Sudbury on Tuesday, January 27th, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. Cremation at Park Lawn Crematorium. A Legion Service, under the auspices of Branch 76, will take place Monday at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Br. 76 “Poppy Fund“ would be greatly appreciated. Mr. John "Earl" Renouf August 30, 1922 - January 15, 2009 86, Halifax, passed away peacefully with his wife Joyce by his side on Thursday, January 15, 2009. Born in St. John's, N.L., he was a son of the late Edwin and Mildred (Messervy) Renouf. Earl worked as a chartered accountant for the federal government for 30 years until his retirement. Earl and Joyce led an active retired life, dividing their time between Florida and Nova Scotia. Earl enjoyed golfing, walking, travelling, and socializing with his wife, family and their many friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce (Nicolle) Renouf; daughter, Pat (Phil) Scott; sons, David (Carol), Barry; sister, Rita Mumford; grandchildren, Mitchell (Julia) Scott, Hillary (Jim) Haight, Eric (Marla) Renouf, Katrina (Matt) Crosby, Nick, James; several great-grandchildren. Mr. Mike Kucheran - January 15, 2009 KUCHERAN, MIKE It is with great sadness that the family of Mike Kucheran announce his passing on January 15, 2009 at the age of 75 years. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his three children: Brian (Mary), Deborah (Brian) Caney and Derrick, three grandchildren; Marcus, David and Laura. Mike will also be missed by four sisters; Pearl, Mary (John), Elizabeth, and Doreen (Alex), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mike was predeceased by his wife Olga in January 2008. Mike built a good life for his family while building a successful business career. We remember Mike for his mischievous sense of humour and the ever present twinkle in his eye. Mike most enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. In his retirement years his home office was his garage where often entertained himself and others while building, tinkering and fixing most anything that needed it….or not. After 54 years of marriage his loving wife Olga passed away January 20, 2008. Mike missed her dearly and we are comforted knowing that they are together again. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Evergreen Funeral Chapel, 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton. Mr. Stephen Douglas Clarke November 23, 1955 - January 15, 2009 CLARKE, Stephen Douglas Died of cancer. Predeceased by his father Murray Douglas in 1984, and mother Margaret Evelyn in 2008. Survived by his loving daughters, Nicole and Katie, his brother Robert (Brenda), niece Selena and nephew Paul (Grace Chau), many friends and best buddy 'Shadow', his dog. Steve was born and raised in Truro, Nova Scotia. After completing high school and other trade schools, he worked a short time in Oakville, Ontario and later moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, where he raised his two girls as a single father. He was a hard worker and rarely took days off, but if he did you could find him down at the river with Shadow, watching Nascar with his many friends, or camping and fishing in the interior with his family. Steve will be greatly missed, always loved, and never forgotten, remaining in the hearts of those who knew him. A Celebration of Stephen's life will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2009 between 12:pm and 3:pm at Sunbury Hall, located at 10409 Dunlop Road, North Delta, British Columbia. BOUCHER, Yvon "Butch" - RCAF WWII Veteran - K of C Hylands Golf Club Member Dedicated husband of the late Kae Power, perfect father and tremendous grandfather. Butch contributed to Canada by serving in the RCAF and the Public Service. He volunteered his whole life from the Catholic Church, to the Boy Scouts, to Meals on Wheels to serving as Mayor of the RCAF base in Chatham, New Brunswick. Butch and Kae loved New Brunswick they made many friends there and happily managed the Miramichi Inn. Butch excelled at woodworking and could build anything. He loved to sing, dance, drive, golf, camp, grow tomatoes and go to Myrtle Beach. Always the hockey fan, Butch, a native Montrealer, switched his loyalties from the Canadiens to the Senators. He was first in line for season tickets and has had the same seats in Section 219 in the Scotia Bank Place. He will be sadly missed by his best friend and grandson Brian, his hockey pal Richard, his biggest fan Allison, his advocate Glenn, his devoted first cousin Fernande of Vaudreil and his loyal caregiver Dale. Cherished by his children Nicholas (Lou), Robert (Darlene), Cathy (Richard), his grandchildren Debbie, Jeff, Marc, Michelle, Brian, Allison, Glenn and his great grandchildren Nicholas, Sarah, Brendan, Adam and Robert who will forever miss his kind heart and generous spirit. Simone was the daughter of the late Dominique and Rose (Lachapelle) Perrin of Sturgeon Falls. She was predeceased by her husbands Edward Galipeau (1997) and Russell Fader (1961), her daughter Suzanne Fader (1956), her son Steven McQuabbie (2008) and her brothers Jean-Guy Perrin (1960), George Perrin (1991) (Lise), Roger Perrin (2005) (Denise). Simone was dearly loved by her children Michael Fader (Christine), Pat Bergen, Liliane Ducharme (Yvon), Dan Fader (Lorraine), Gary Fader, Leonard McQuabbie (Rose), Art Galipeau (Jill), Roger Galipeau (Karen), Kathy Bourbonnais (Alan) and Linda Ratelle (Ron). She will also be greatly missed by her 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
