WALTERS, Audrey Viola (nee Saunders). Passed away on January 7, 2009 at the age of eighty-nine years. Predeceased by her husband James Walters, her son Lloyd, her sister Rosalie, as well as her brothers Samuel and Vincent. Dearest mother of Lyndis, Monica, Blondell and Michael. Also survived by her five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, as well as her sister Mary and many other relatives and friends. Resting at Feron's Funeral Homes, 2630 Notre Dame St. West (at Charlevoix). Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 11 a.m. in Union United Church, 3007 Delisle St. Montreal. Mrs. Dorothy Agnes Currie March 19, 1920 - January 5, 2009 CURRIE, Dorothy Agnes "Dot" 88, White's Lake, passed away peacefully January 5, 2009, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was a daughter of the late Grace and Michael Nehiley of Halifax; predeceased by sister, Margaret and survived by sister, Kathleen. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Vince, less than a year ago. She is surivived by a son, Robert (Jo-Anne); daughters, Donna Silver (John), Patricia Gagne (Peter), and Denise Currie. She will be remembered lovingly by her grandchildren, Leslie, Patrick, Shawna, Stacie, Christiane (Chrissy), Stephanie, Thomas and Solenne. She will also be sadly missed by her great-grandchildren, Nehiley, Madia, Zoelle, Ethan and Cameron. She will be remembered also for her knitted sweaters, birthday cakes and lovely pieces of needlepoint and handwork. Special thanks to the staff at Drummond Hall. PECK, Robert Cartwright - After a lengthy battle, courageously borne, Bob died peacefully at home on Saturday, January 10, 2009. Beloved husband of Margery (nee Upton) for 65 years. Wonderful father to Stan (Mary), Rob (Julia), Bruce, Weston (Cathy) and the late infant Janet. Grandpa of Michael, Gordon, David, Ross, Jennifer, Douglas (Jessica), Graham and Linda. He is survived by his brother George (late wife Mary) and many nieces and nephews. Bob was a longtime employee of Alcan working in British Guiana; Geneva, Switzerland; Newport, England; Shawinigan Falls, Quebec; Copenhagen, Denmark; and Toronto, Kingston and Etobicoke, Ontario; retiring in 1973 from Birmingham, England after 32 years service. Bob and Margery moved to Peterborough after retirement where they have lived happily for the last 35 years. BISSONNETTE, Evelyn - After a long and full life, Evelyn graciously passed just prior to her 96th birthday at Bluewater Health, Mitton Site on January 10, 2009. Born January 25, 1913, she is predeceased by her husband Zephere Bissonnette, son Vernon Bissonnette, daughter Ariel Glombowski and 9 brothers and sisters. Survived by son Raymond Bissonnette & wife Shirley, daughters Hildred LeFaive and Louella McGirr and sister Dorothy Dubreuil, all of Sarnia. Loving grandmother of 21 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. An avid fisherwoman and nature lover, she spent her summers in Algonquin Park where she worked and enjoyed life in her fruitful years. Beloved wife of the late George Redfearn (September 20, 2008). Loving mother of Michael and his wife Michelle of Vancouver, Claudette and her husband Bert Liske of Mount Forest, Anne and her husband John Grobbo of Fordwich and Penny and her husband Pat Pietrantonio of Mississauga. Cherished grandmother of Teddy, Jennifer, Mark and Robert. Sister of Vera and the late Raymond Atto, Mildred and her husband Victor Davies, and William Brown and the late Sylvia. Sister-in-law of Ruth Brown. Predeceased by her brother Victor and her sisters Pearl and Betty. Dorothy graduated from Sir George Williams University, Montreal in 1955. She was a published writer, bee keeper and she taught bee keeping. She had a love for music and was a previous member of the Saugeen Bach Choir. Later in life, she became a real estate agent and enjoyed selling bits of Canada in the Durham/ Hanover area. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham on Sunday, January 11 from 1:30-3 pm, where a Celebration of Dorothy’s Life was held at 3 o’clock. Pastor Brian Cleland officiated and Gloria Morris played the organ. Words of remembrance were given by Anne Redfearn-Grobbo and Claudette Liske. The congregation sang “In The Garden,” “All Things Bright and Beautiful,” “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “How Great Thou Art.” “Fauré: In Paradisum” and “Hallelujah Chorus” were played as special music during the service. Spring interment of cremated remains will be held at McNeil Cemetery, Priceville. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Adopt-a-Dog or Glenelg Centre Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.

Evelyn Godin - À l’Hôpital régional Chaleur de Bathurst, le dimanche 11 janvier 2009, à l’âge de 91 ans, est décédée après une courte maladie Evelyn Godin, épouse d’Alban Godin, domiciliée à Bathurst, avenue St. Mary’s. Née à Bathurst, elle était fille de feu Philippe et Ida (Vienneau) Doucet. SIMMS, Albert Eddy - Peacefully at the North Bay General Hospital, on Monday January 12th 2008, after a brief illness, at the age of 89 years. Eddy was the beloved husband of Margaret Emmeline Lillew who predeceased him December 10th, 2007. The love of his life, they met in Englehart, were married there on July 18, 1942, and were devoted to each other for the next 65 years. The proud and loving father of Carla Drury (Bob St. Jean) of New Liskeard, and Nancy Simms of Mississauga, Eddy will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Steven Drury (Shelbie) and Jason Drury (Tammy) and his great grandchildren Brendan, Chase and Claire. The dear brother of Boyd Simms (Dorothy) and Doris Rae Brownlee (Bill) all of North Bay, and the late Margaret Kleven who predeceased him March 3rd, 2008, he will also be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Born in Timmins to the late Abbey and Eunice Simms, Eddy began working for the Ontario Northland Railway at the age of 19. With the exception of the time spent serving his country during the war his entire adult life was spent with the railway. He retired as the Chief Dispatcher in 1979 after 41 years of service. During WW II he served overseas from 1942 - 1945 with the Signal Corp. Eddy left a lasting impression with anyone he met. He will be remembered as a strong independent man, selfless and always thinking of others. Always there for his family he was very community minded and was involved with many charities throughout his life. He enjoyed genealogy, mastering the computer, and camping and travelling with his family. Kenneth Erskine MacPhee, Guelph Passed away at his residence in Guelph, Ontario, on Friday, January 9, 2009. Ken MacPhee at the age of 82 years. Beloved husband of Eleanor (Wood). SMITH, Agnes 2009-01-13 It is with sadness that the family of Agnes Ruth Smith (nee Cardy) announce her passing on January 11, 2009 at the age of 92 in St. Joseph’’s Hospital with family by her side. Agnes was born March 4, 1916 in Longford Mills Ontario to George and Rose Cardy. She was the second eldest child in a family of 6 children. The family moved to Fort William where Agnes received the rest of her education. Mum loved to ice skate and that is where she met the love of her life, Harry. On November 10, 1945 they were married. Together they raised five children on N. Harold St. Agnes was very active in the Girl Guides Association and the Iona Guild at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. Harry and Agnes enjoyed ice skating, swimming, cross country skiing, disking at Knox United Church and walks along the Neebing River. She was very family oriented-sharing the family home with her youngest brother, Bill, and treasured sight seeing trips with her sisters. There were also the yearly family vacations that were enjoyed by all. The Alaskan cruise she and Harry took and her trip to the British Isles with her daughters were her most memorable. One of her greatest pleasures was babysitting her grandchildren and sharing her special talent of making melt in your mouth shortbread. Agnes was predeceased by; her husband, Harry and her son, George, her parents George and Rose Cardy, her sisters Alice Winter, Mary Beauchemin, Margaret Kozak, and her brothers Bert and Bill Cardy. She will be dearly missed by her daughters Sheila (Terry) Lysak, Rose (Rick) Wiley, Margaret (Jim) Harding and Gail (Randy) Noga.
