Passed away peacefully on December 28, 2008 at Fraserview Intermediate Care Lodge in Richmond, BC on her 95th birthday. She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Elisabeth Ring, brothers Joseph, Adolph and Ralph, and sisters Susan, Hilda, Katherine, Amy and Anna. She is survived by one brother, Victor (Bonnie) Ring of St. Albert, Alberta and numerous nieces and nephews. MCEACHERN, Greg - passed away in his home on Sunday, January 4, 2009. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1943 and served in WWll on the HMCS Kokanee and then joined the Canadian Army in 1950 and served in the Korean war. He has been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 65 years. She was also involved in Monday Seniors Bowling and Civil Service Bowling League. She is survived by her son, W.G. FREY, Charles - Korean War Veteran 1931 - 2009 Charles passed away peacefully at the Perley Rideau Veterans' Health Centre on January 1, 2009. Predeceased by his wife Marjorie (Firlotte). He will be sadly missed by his children Frank (Joanne), Ken (Clara) and Brenda (Tammy), as well as five grandchildren: Lisa, Michael (Katya), Terri (Jeff), Ken (Alicia) Jocelyn, and ten great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his brother Ed and sister Clara, both of B.C. and his dearly devoted friend Pauline Drouin of North Bay. He will also be missed by his faithful companion Babes. We would like to thank the wonderful staff of Gatineau 2 North for their loving care and compassion in making our Dad and his family feel at home. Funeral arrangements will be private. Ruth Barr of Almonte, age 85 years. Beloved wife of the late Gordon H. Houston and dearly loved mother of Norma (Danny) Quinn, Robert (Jennifer) and Don. Sister of Lulu Craig, Dan (Peggy) & Glenn (Gloria). Predeceased by her sister; Dorothy Wallace & brothers; Leonard, Graydon, Ronald, Harris, Craig, Jack, Dewey, Peter & Donnie. McNAMARA, Theresa B. (Nee Ingram) Passed away in hospital, Smiths Falls on Monday, January 5, 2009 Theresa Beatrice McNamara in her 72nd year. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Edward. Cherished mother of David (Annalienne Venuta), Gail (Tom) Mulville, Kim (Tom) Cauley, and Gina McNamara (John Tysick). Theresa was predeceased by her son Brian and her infant daughter Shannon. Loving sister of Bill, Ken, Earl and Jerry Ingram and Marion Primeau, Margaret Gagnon and Beatrice Miller. Devoted grandmother of Breanna (Adam) Bedor, Jenna, Kaitlin and Nathaniel McNamara, Dustin and Kristen Mulville, Bryant McNamara, Angela and Shawn Cauley, Travous and Grant Tysick, and great-grandmother of Landon and Gracie Bedor. She will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. WOLFENDEN, Jessie It is with broken hearts, that on January 4th, 2009, in her 87th year, Jessie R. Wolfenden (Davidson) of Ottawa, formerly of North Bay and Charlottetown, PEI, passed away in her home with her family at her side. Jess was the loving mum to Doug (Diane) dear mother-in-law to Joy, Granny to Shawn, Rick, Brian and Adam. Oldest sister to Mary (Norman), Evelyn and Gordie. Jess was predeceased by her beloved husband Alan, two of her three sons, Iain and James and her brother Jack. Nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews will truly miss her. She will be sadly missed by the truest of friends, Rene Cooper, Rita Fagan, Joanne and Celia Moffatt and Jenny Hume. If it were not for the following people Jess' wish to remain at home would not have been possible. Dr. Dhami, Rosaline and the Melrose Family Medicine Clinic, Winnie, Karen, Lorraine and the entire CCAC team, to you all "A special Thank You". And to the Palliative Care Outreach Program, Max and Dr. Bright - what can we say, the support, sensitivity and compassion that you had for Jess and us will be something we, as a family and individuals, will hold in our hearts forever. ANDERSON, Ernest Virgil August 18, 1930 - January 3, 2009 Virgil passed away peacefully at his home in Bluffdale, Utah, on January 3, 2009 at the age of 78. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lena, and his six children: Lynn (Stan) Richins of Yuba City, California; Dean (Kathy) Anderson of Kaysville, Utah; David (Marlyse) Anderson of Bluffdale, Utah; Daniel (Kim) Anderson of Kaysville, Utah; Corey (Pam) Anderson of Redmond, Washington; and Sherri (Ty) Kehoe of Las Vegas, Nevada; two stepchildren, Tim Shatto and Valori Fletcher. Virgil is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Born in High River, Alberta, Canada, and raised with his two older sisters in the small town of Frankburg, Alberta, Virgil graduated with a Law Degree from the University of British Columbia in 1960 and practiced law for nearly thirty years. Though he was a lawyer by occupation, he was a cowboy at heart, and spent many happy years with his family on their ranch in Priddis, Alberta. Virgil's love of life and enthusiasm for adventure lead to a full and rich life which he generously shared with many friends and family. Virgil and Lea moved to Utah in 2002 where they resided until his passing. SANDERMAN, Gladys Rose February 24, 1923 - January 3, 2009 Gladys passed away peacefully with family at her side at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at the age of 85 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Bruce, Ron (Sharon), Earl (Stella) and Doren (Carol); seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren as well as her sister Lorna Hand and brother Garth Bullard. Gladys was predeceased by her husband Gerald in 1985. Gladys enjoyed family and friends at many special occasions. She treasured time spent with singing groups wherever she resided and had the time of her life chatting. "Your dedication will always be remembered." SMITH, Clara Amalia (Nee Miller) With great sadness our family announces the passing of our grandmother, "GG" and Aunt on December 15, 2008. Clara was born February 10, 1907 at Hednesford, Sask and was predeceased by her husband William, daughter Jeanette, son Howard, daughter-in-law Jean, four brothers and two sisters. Clara is survived by her three granddaughters, six great-grandchildren, two great-great-granddaughters, numerous nieces and nephews and friends and relatives from Canada to Scotland. A respected, loving, generous, supportive lady who will always be loved and missed dearly. In her own words "I love and leave you". A Memorial Service will be held at the Kerby Centre, 1133 - 7 Avenue S.W. at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 2009, where she volunteered for more than thirty-two years after retiring from the Cerebral Palsy Association.
