Claude Dubé The family announces with deep sadness his passing on Sunday, November 2nd, 2008 at the Smooth Rock Falls Hospital in Smooth Rock Falls, ON, at the age of 79. Loving husband of Rollande Dubé (nee Bédard). He will be missed by his children Late Francine (Darell) Moore of Fergus, Mario (Starre) Dubé of Bourget, Martine (Kevin) Kirkbride of Timmins, Louise (Luc) Tousignant of Bourget, Ronald Dubé (Doris Gosselin) Dubé of Smooth Rock Falls. He was a very proud Grandpa of Allison and Kurtis Kirkbride, Karen and Sarah Tousignant, Stéphanie and Roxanne Dubé, Randy and Mickey Moore, and Great Grandpa de Britany, Brandon and the mother Tracy Moore. Claude will always be remembered by his siblings, Louis Dubé of Chapleau and his sister Simone Pomerleau of Smooth Rock Falls. He was a loving Uncle, and will be missed by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Dubé and Azélia Lapointe. Claude was a proud 3rd, degree member of the Knight’s of Columbus in Smooth Rock Falls. Member of Golden Age, play Golf, Curling and Janitor at the Ste-Gertrude Catholic Church.Family and friends were received at the Smooth Rock Falls Parish Hall in Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario. A Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the Ste-Gertrude Church in Smooth Rock Falls, with Father Sébastien Groleau officiating. Interment of Ashes will followed to Smooth Rock Falls Cemetery.

JODOUIN, Alexina “Celina“ (Collin) - In loving memory of Alexina “Celina“ (Collin) Jodouin, 85 years, who passed away Thursday, November 6th, 2008 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph Health Center. Born in Sudbury, she married Lionel in Mattawa, in 1941. Celina was an avid and gifted gardener, and a wonderful cook. She was skilled at knitting and sewing. Celina always had time for everyone, she was well respected by family and friends. She was a compassionate woman who was happy to share her wisdom and knowledge with others. Family was the center of her life, she lived a life of love and caring for which she earned the simple and true title “Memere“. Beloved wife of Lionel Jodouin predeceased 1999. Loving mother of Ronald (wife Sue Lafond) of Sudbury and Jeannine (husband Pat Corcoran predeceased 2007) of Sheguiandah. EDWARD, Peggy Alison - February 6, 1929 - November 10, 2008 - Peacefully at London's Victoria Hospital at the age of 79 years. The daughter of Fred and Chris Jones, Peggy was born and raised in Niagara Falls, Ontario and graduated in nursing from St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton in 1950. Her nursing career took her to Sudbury, Ontario where she met Peter Edward, her husband of 56 years. After many years in the north, Peggy and Peter resided in the Toronto area before retiring to Niagara-on-the Lake always returning to Manitoulin Island for the summers. Peggy was the consummate caregiver and homemaker, believing family came first. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother and a beloved Nana. She lived her life with grace and humility. Peggy will be lovingly remembered by her husband Peter, her sister, Audrey Young (John), and her children Paul (Lori), Tim (Elaine), Jane (Gene) and Karen (Ken) and her grandchildren Shelby, Jordan, Lauren, Nicholas, Chris and Harrison, Anthony and Caitlyn, brothers in law John Edward (June), Tom Edward (Isobel) sisters in law Charlotte Edington, Jill Gordon and Patricia Bateman (Bob) and her many nieces, nephews and friends. REYNOLDS, Jean Eliza (nee Gall) RN 1947 Hotel Dieu Hospital, Kingston, Ontario On November 12, 2008, Jean Eliza Reynolds, age 83, passed away peacefully in the Kingston General Hospital. Welcoming her home are her husband, Peter Wesley Reynolds of Saint John, New Brunswick; her mother, Edith Ann Scrace of Tonbridge Wells, Kent, England; her father, George Gall of New Pitsligo, Aberdeen, Scotland; her stepfather, Edwin John Kelly of Kingston, Ontario; her brother, Gordon James Gall and his wife, Lucille Marie Therese (Groleau). Left here to remember are her nephews, David Gall, his wife Gail (Gault) and their children, Nicola and Andrew; Gordon Gall and his sons, James and Kevin; Peter Gall; her niece, Patricia (Gall) and her husband, Terry Thompson, all of Ottawa, Ontario; her cousin, Eileen (Gall) and Bud Holmes, North Bay, Ontario; Kingston and Lake Clear friends; and the babies for whom she cared in the HDH nursery. We are grateful to the staff at Extendicare, Kingston, Ontario for the respect and care given to Jean during the past 3 years. BRUCE-Joyce Bernice (nee Schachtel) joined the angels peacefully on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at the age of 58 years. She had her loving husband and children by her side. DUNCALFE, VINCENT PERRY- May 13, 1964 October 30, 2008 The family of Vincent (Perry) Duncalfe regretfully announces the passing of Perry on the 30th day of October 2008. After a short stay in the Calgary Foothills Hospital, he passed away suddenly that evening at 6 PM after suffering from a long term chronic illness. Vince's battle for life is now over. He was born May 13, 1964, son of Raymond and Vivian (Story) Duncalfe at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He leaves behind his life partner of many years, Pierre Baedeker, who will greatly miss him, as well as, his immediate family members who will always remember his quirky sense of humor, love of cooking, his love of life and his boisterous attitude. He also leaves behind his sisters, Barb (Adam) Mctaggart; Kathy (Willy) Loewen; Robin (Bob) Lange; Shelly (Gene) Bens; Christine (Brian) Henderson; and Rae Duncalfe, as well as his brothers, Mitch Duncalfe; Greg Duncalfe; Kenny Duncalfe; Jim (Darlene) Fehr; Johnny (Heather) Fehr; and Chuck (Diana) Fehr. Most of all, his Dad (John Fehr) will miss him sorely as he sets off on an eternal journey joining his predeceased Father (Raymond Duncalfe), Mom (Vivian Fehr) and Aunt (Emma Darling). A war bride from Holland she would meet new Dutch immigrants at the train station in Regina making life long friends. A teacher back home she became a committed teachertherapist of children at the Physical Restoration Centre (now Wascana Hospital) in the 50's, 60's and 70's. WILLISON-Alphaeus William passed away in his sleep at Echo Lodge, Fort Qu'Appelle, SK on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at the age of 102. Alph was born in Qu'Appelle, SK on October 4, 1906. He is predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Bessie in 2004; his oldest son, Kenneth in 1997; siblings, Dorothy (Bert) Laughland, Joe (Pearl), Bill, Fred (Betty) and Jack; Alph is survived by his sons, David (Evelyn) ,Winnipeg, Stuart (Gloria), Regina; grandchildren, Shelly (Darren), Tim (Landis), Jeff (Barbara), Nancy, Kelly, Chera (Blaine), Jolene (Chad); 8 greatgrandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; daughter-in-law, Jeanette (Ron) Sayers; sister, Mary Stickle; sisters-in-law, Alice, Olive and Helen as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews. Alph farmed all his life (4 miles west of Qu'Appelle), was successful at his trade, took pride in his work ethic and was very community minded. For a number of years he was the telephone repair man in the Vernon District. Later in life dad and mom went on many trips with friends to Europe, United States and throughout Canada. He loved being with his family and enjoyed socializing with his friends. A Celebration of Alph's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2008 at the Qu'Appelle Lions Hall, Qu'Appelle, SK with Pastor Jo Mader officiating followed by a private family interment at the Qu'Appelle Cemetery, Qu'Appelle, SK. HANSEN, Marvin E. May 28, 1926 November 8, 2008 Born in Big Valley Alberta, grew up in Kamloops. Here he learned to fly and soloed at 12 years old. Moved to Mayne Island in 1941 with his father. Joined the Navy in 1944. After discharge he enjoyed bush flying on the BC coast and in the far North. He was a natural pilot, studied hard and became a captain for Air Canada (TCA) until an accident caused the loss of his right eye. Later he had Service Stations at 12th & Cambie and at E.Hastings at Cliffe. He felt blessed to have had 22 years of retirement on his beloved Mayne Island, sailing in summers and exploring Baja and Palm Springs in winters. Survived by wife Hazel, two sons, Jeffrey (Mary) and Douglas, and grandson Scott. Memorial Service will be held at St. Mary Magdelene Church on Mayne Island, Nov. 29, 2008 at 11:30am. KEAIS, Ivy Doris (nee GEORGE) Our beloved Nana Ivy died peacefully Nov 12, 2008 at Saanich Peninsula Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer. Nana came to Canada as the wartime bride of Hugh Keais from Watford, England and lived in London, Ontario until he passed away in 1989. She moved to Sidney, B.C. in 1996 to live with her grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Les and Barry, her daughter-in-law Bridget and her three grandchildren, Shealand, Graeme and Morgan. Nana collected many close friends throughout her life, most notably daughters" Esther Walker and Simone Kehl. We will all miss her positive outlook and amazing sense of humour, even through the toughest times. The funeral service will be held at St. Elizabeth's church in Sidney on Saturday Nov. 15, 1pm followed by a reception at 1670 Lands End Rd. PARK, Lillian Helen (nee Franta) Passed away peacefully on Friday November 7th at Sunrise of North Vancouver. Predeceased by her husband Alan James Park in July 2000. Lillian is survived by her sister Tess Reid and husband Norm of Victoria, sisters Ann Duquette, Gladys Kendra, Marjorie McCarron, and Julie Kolbiens, son Philip William Park of North Vancouver, his wife Pamela and their children Michael and Christine, Andrea Park of Kingston New York and her children Lauren Smith and Andrew Smith, son Robert Alan Park of Victoria. Lillian was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, on April 11th, 1921, third in a family of twelve children. She and Alan were married on July 23rd, 1949 and raised their family in Vernon and Kamloops before retiring in Victoria. Lillian was a loving, gentle mother and grandmother. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, playing bridge, traveling, choir and her many lifelong friends. Lillian will be best remembered for her pleasant charm. Heartfelt thanks to the staff of Beechwood in Sydney, Sunrise of Lynn Valley and Lions Gate Hospital for the special care they gave Lillian. A private ceremony will be held at a later date. WRIGHT, Laurence Allan Born July 19th, 1932. Passed away peacefully on November 11th, 2008. Survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mally; sons, Kim (Marian), Greg (Rose), Scott (Bev); daughter Debra (Brad); grandchildren, Andrew, Melanie, Kaela, Stephanie, Laura and Nathan; brothers, Les (Stella), Bill (Joyce) and sister Pat (Don). Larry was a dedicated family man. Some of his fondest memories involved boating and fishing with his brothers or his children. He was always working on projects, but would drop everything to help others. He was an inventor, and problem-solver extraordinaire. Though forced to retire early from his career as an accountant, he continued to find ways to be helpful to all he could. He had tremendous will and drive, and faced adversity with amazing humour and grace. Larry was a devoted student of Christian Science. It gave him peace and strength throughout his life. 1934-2008 Donald William Watling, husband of the late Vera Watling, of the North Black River Road, Black River Bridge, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Saturday evening, November 8, 2008, at the age of 74. Born in Black River Bridge, on July 5, 1934, he was the son of the late Alexander (Dick) and Vivian (Edge) Watling. He was a farmer and a former employee of the N.B. Dept. of Transportation. He was a member of St. Stephen's United Church, Black River Bridge. He is survived by several sisters in law and brothers in law; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his wife, Vera, in 2007; one sister, Agnes MacColl; one brother, Walter Watling. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Monday. The funeral service was held from St. Stephen's United Church, Black River Bridge, on Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. David Cleveland. The music for the service was provided by Mrs. June Ross and the hymn was "Amazing Grace". Two musical selections were offered by Janet Watling, "I Bowed On My Knees" and "In Christ Alone", accompanied by Mrs. Barbara Somers. Allan, Penny Jane, Ms. February 29, 1944 - August 27, 2008 Beloved mother of Jonathan (Victoria) and Cristina (Calgary), beloved sister of Peter and Bev (Bruder) Allan and family (Cochrane), John and Judi (Randolph) Allan and family (Marysville, USA), and Rosemary Allan (Calgary). Predeceased by her beloved companion Gilberto Rodriquez (Mexico City) and her parents Bery and Grace Allan (Lethbridge). A teacher, Penny was employed by the College of the North Atlantic in Doha, Qatar, where she developed curriculum and taught English to adults. Penny enjoyed a long and illustrious career with the Calgary Board of Education. She later became Curriculum Coordinator in the International Languages Department at Mount Royal College. A master teacher, Penny touched all who met her kind and sunny personality and vibrant joie de vivre. The family asks those attending to wear vibrant colours to reflect her personality. Many thanks to the medical and nursing staff, their heroic efforts, at the Rocky View Intensive Care Unit and Cardiology Unit. Arseneau, Joseph Sylvio “Leo”, Mr. September 2, 1917 - August 30, 2008 - Passed away peacefully in Northwood Manor on Saturday, August 30, 2008. Born in Bathurst, N.B., on September 2, 1917, the son of the late Leandie and Malvina (Vienneau) Arseneau. Leo graduated from Sacred Heart College in Bathurst and served in the Royal Canadian Airforce. He was a long-time employee of the civil service until his retirement. Leo dedicated several years serving the Catholic Church at Saint Lawrence Parish in Halifax. He is survived by his sister, Marie Mae (Jack) McKinney, Bathurst; sister-in-law, Doris (Lewis) MacKinnon, Halifax; granddaughters, Paula (Wrathall) Arseneau, Jo-Anna and Kathryn, all of Sackville. He was predeceased by his wife, Thelma (Lewis) (March 28, 2008); son, Gary A. Arseneau. At Leo's request, cremation has taken place. Mass to be celebrated by Father John WIlliams at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, in Saint Agnes Church, Halifax. McDonald, Stella Marie, Mrs. May 19, 1935 - August 22, 2008, Stella McDonald (Barrieau) of Shediac passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, August 22, 2008. Born in Tracadie, daughter of the late Jim and Ida (Richard) McGraw. She will be sadly missed by her four sons; Arthur (Georgina) McDonald, Alfred (Lynn) McDonald, Leonard (Kathy) McDonald and Paul (Nancy) McDonald, two daughters; Maria (Larry) Leger and Louise (Wally) Baker as well as ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters; Ida and Yvonne, four brothers; Frank, Gilbert, Donald and Normand. Besides her parents, Stella was predeceased by her husband Fred McDonald, two brother; Vincent and Arthur and one grandchild, Serge. A Funeral service will be held from Fair Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 3:00 pm followed by a reception in the Garden View Reception Room. Caines, Otto Gordon, Mr. March 9, 1936 - August 31, 2008 - 72, Lake Echo, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 31, 2008, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Burgeo, N.L., he was a son of the late Emmanuel and Sarah Caines. He is survived by his loving wife, Jocelyn; stepsons, Blaine Thurber (Tara) and Chris Thurber, Dartmouth. He will be sadly missed by stepgrandson, Connor; stepgranddaughter, Kyla, and best friend, John. Otto also leaves to mourn sisters, Dulcie Loucks, Victoria; Agnes Engram, Halifax; brothers, Cyril (Mary), Annapolis Royal; Milton (Johanna), Dartmouth. He was predeceased by sisters, Mamie, Violet, Lelia, and Hilda. Otto served with the Canadian Armed Forces (Navy) for 25 years. He worked for several years with the offshore oil industry, followed by working for Penhorn Mall maintenance until his retirement in 1996. Family and friends were first and foremost in Otto's life and he often enjoyed gatherings with music and a little good cheer. His love of the outdoors included fishing and hunting with his many friends at Mooseland. He also enjoyed travelling, wood carving, darts and gardening. Cremation has taken place. Visiting will be held today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Funeral service will be held in St. Augustine's Anglican Church, 2 Ponderosa Dr., Lake Echo, on Thursday, September 4, at 2 p.m., Rev. Blanche was proud of being an RNA and was employed for many years at the Hamilton Psychiatric Hospital. Blanche was predeceased by her husband John Carr. John was a son of the late Eric and Bridget (Fleming) Darrach. John was married to the late Gertrude "Ryan" Darrach. He was predeceased by his brother, Allen. John was employed as a welder at the Halifax Shipyards until retirement. John spent his leisure time camping and taking long walks with his dog. As a hobby, John liked to make wood items for family and friends. He will be sadly missed by his only sister, Catherine Ainsworth; brothers, Vincent (Mary), Norman (Margaret), and several nieces and nephews. John is also survived by his long-time partner, Joyce Sawler; her children, Bobby, Bruce, Brenda, Melissa and Tanya, and grandchildren. Desrochers, Jaques "Jack", Mr. February 3, 1934 - August 31, 2008 At his home, with his family’s strength, we lifted him up to the angels to help him find his way home. Jacques Raymond Desrochers, 74 years of age, born in Foleyet, Ontario passed away at the beautiful home he had created in Goderich with his soul mate and best friend of 49 years Patricia (nee Train) on August 31, 2008. Devoted son of Leodore and Lorenza (nee Morin) both predeceased. Son-in-law of NeilTrain and Barbara (predeceased). Many walks, treats and much love was shared with his devoted dog Sadie. Loving father, extraordinary friend and mentor to his children; Cheryl (husband Rick), Brian (wife Anna) and Richard (wife Susan). Proud Grandpa and Poppa of Jamie, Jennifer, Stacy (spouse Kyle), Ashley, Jessica, Michael and great grandpa to Deson. Many wonderful days hunting and enjoying the land he called “God’s Country” at the family camp in Foleyet were spent with his brother Bob (wife Vivian), Gertrude (spouse Billy), Henriette (husband Karl), and Cecile (husband Rick). Countless great times were shared with his brother-in-laws Bill (wife Denise), Neil Train Jr., Jim (predeceased), John (wife Mena), Bob, and David. A special bond was shared with his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins as well as the many great friends he had made throughout the years. The family will receive friends at the McCallum & Palla Funeral Home, Cambria Rd. at East St. Goderich on Wednesday September 3, 2008 from 12:00 noon until time of Funeral Liturgy at 2:00 PM.
